Problems with installing iTunes x64

Hello,
I was trying to install iTunes, but I didn't succeed.
I got the following error message:
An error occured during the installation of assembly
'microsoft.VC80.CTR,version="8.0.50727.4053",type=
"win32",publicKeyToken="qfc8b3b9a1e18e3b",process
or Architecture="x86". Please refer to Help and
Support for more information.HRESULT:0x80070424.
It has finished installation though, but doesnt work...

You did a good job with the error message, gum.
HRESULT: 0x800736FD
These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? Are they also  800736FDs, or a different error code? If they're different, what codes are you getting in Windows Update?

  • Problem with installing iTunes

So these are my problems with installing iTunes.
    At first it was :
A required iTunes component is not installed. Please repair or reinstall iTunes (-45019)
Then it got worse as it would not even open and these would appear:
The program can't start because AVFoundationCF.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.
    and this would appear:
iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes.
    Error 7 (Windows error 126)
I reinstalled maybe about 5 times or more...
If I thought I solved the above problem, this would appear:
iTunesHelper.exe is not installed on my computer.
I seen other people comment that you should unistall and restart the computer and install the setup again, but it does not work..
And others would say to repair the AAS or iTunes etc..
And after trying all these it does not work???
    What else works?

I also tried repairing the Microsoft NET.

  • I am having problems with installing Itunes 10.5 .With the windows installer

I am having problems with installing Itunes 10.5.It's the first time i dowload it,but every time het gives me an error message that a programm that was needed for installing didn't run.
    What can i do???

When I attempt the download for Itunes 10.6, I get an immediate response of ""Files shared by these updates" has an invalid signature. The download has been removed."
That's suggesting that the AppleApplicationSupport.msi is getting damaged during the download via Apple Software Update for Windows.
Are you able to get the 10.6  update to go through if you use an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer file from the Apple Website?

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • Problems with Installing iTunes and wireless network connection

Every time I attempt to install iTunes it completely kicks the internet off and an error comes up that the wireless network adapter to not connect or is not detected. My internet service is connected to a router which I receive wirelessly to my laptop. I do not understand why it is happening and to get the internet to work again I needed to do a system restore. Any ideas why this is happening. Also when iTunes was installed it came up correctly, it would just not connect to the net. I have had a previous version on my old laptop but since purchasing this new laptop I am having such difficulty. On another note, if this problem can be resolved, once iTunes is working is there a way to get the songs from my old computer onto the new? Thanks for the help in advance!

I just saw your post and I resolved this on mine for my wired connection. I'm willing to bet that the issue is the same for wireless. Here's what I found.
    Issue:
During the installation, iTunes installs some network components related to mobile device support over ethernet(Apple Mobile Device Ethernet Service - netaapl.inf). At the same time, according the logs, the install process removed OEM18.inf. This almost exactly coincided with the time that I saw the network connection die (preceded it by a few seconds).
Basically, iTunes appears to be removing a required network component.
    Resolution:
After installing iTunes and the network connection breaking, remove the network device from Device Manager and allow Windows to reinstall it automatically.
The following instructions are for Windows 7, but they are close enough to follow for other versions of Windows.
    1. Click the Start button (Jewel in Vista and Win7).
    2. Right-click Computer and click Manage in the menu that appears (type your password or click Yes if prompted).
    3. On the left side of hte Computer Management window, click Device Manager.
    4. Click the arrow (or plus sign) next to Network Adapters to expand that section.
    5. Right-click your network adapter and click Uninstall in the menu that appears.
    6. Click OK.
    7. Reboot.
Windows should automatically detect and reinstall your network device on boot.

  • Problems with installing iTunes

I got a new iPhone yesterday, came home and wanted to install iTunes. iTunes was installed on my laptop before but since nobody was using it I just uninstalled it. When I'm trying to install it now I just can't. The process starts normally but after a few seconds it just stops and says that iTunes was successfully installed on my laptop. When I try to search for it I can't find it anywhere. I've been trying everything people suggest but none of it works.
Any ideas what else I could do?

Hello, Welcome to discussions. I am sorry to read about your previous experience updating iTunes. I can understand how that can become something you would worry about when you have invested time in all your music. Below are a couple links to assist with backing up iTunes and playlists. So you can bring this content back if needed.

Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive

*The steps for backing up and restoring playlists may vary depending on your iTunes version. For the most recent version the instructions are as follows
    -Highlight a playlist in iTunes
-Go to File - Library-Export Playlist- It will save as a .txt file to any location you wish
*To restore the playlist in iTunes
-Go to File - Library - Import Playlist - Select file - Open

  • Cannot instal itunes x64, help !

    Hi everyone.
I have a HUGE problem, I installed by mistake Itunes 32bits on my Windows Seven x64.
I uninstalled it, restarted the computer, installed itunes x64 aaaand.. it's always showed as Itunes.exe *32 in task manager (so it's still itunes 32bits :/)
I think that this "problem" is the source of several itunes freezes on my computer.
    Any solutions ?
    Thanks
    Dorango

Itunes may have lost track of where your library .itl file resides or the file itself is corrupt.
I would read the following to start -
How to open an alternate iTunes Library file or create a new one
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1589
First try to load Itunes from your default  library .itl file ( you might need to run find on your system). If that fails
you can try to restore that file from your backup to see if Itunes will read the older one.
I had a similar problem and could not restore library file. What I ended up doing is started with new Libary file  (steps are in above doc) and then imported my itunes folder into the new itunes install. I ended up losing my playlists and playcount info. This was not a major issue for me as most of my playlists are smart-playlists so easily recreated.
I am sure there are other solutions more elegant but I did not have time and just wanted my library up and running. You can refer to this doc for playlist stuff.

  • Is there a problem with the itunes and quick time download pages or is it my internet.

Is there a problem with the itunes and quicktime download pages or is it just my internet.

Some more developments ... the issue appears to be browser-specific. I can't see the download controls at the moment in either IE 8 (I'll get your message) or Safari for Windows 5.0.5 (I'll just get the blank box). But I can see the download controls in Firefox 4 and Chrome (whatever version I have of that).
So it might be worth installing Firefox and seeing if you can get the downloads via that:

I have a problem with the iTunes Store, I have an ipod and an iphone 2. I have a PC with Windows Vista Home Premium 2007, entering into iTunes Store on the main screen I get only AppStore, Podcast and iTunes U. In my screen I get only ipad2 Podcast, iTunes U Downloads. My problem is I can not access any application to download music, videos, books, etc..
ITunes will be installed wrong or what should I do to activate these options?

Go to the front page of the Store, and click Change Country.  Make sure it is set to the country where you actually are.
Then you will be able to see everything that is for sale in your country, which, depending where you live, might or might not include music.
