Problems with Invalid Serial Number

I had a hard-drive failure last week, bought a new disk and had to reinstall all my programs including Photoshop CS4. I entered the serial number from the back of the box that had worked on my computer for years only to get the error message "Our records show that the serial number used to set up this software is invalid." It then shows the exact same numbers I have on the back of my box - no typos - "This serial number will no longer permit you to use the product."
It then gives me a helpful link where I can buy a new serial number online. I already paid for this product once, so isn't that extortion? Any hints or help on how I can get going again without having to put up more money would be really helpful.

Thanks for the link. I did see if entering the number without hypens would work (it had boxes, though, that precluded the hyphens, and I checked on the other problem scenarios, like platform or having a bulk license. Unfortunately I am still stuck...

Upgrade CS4 to CS5 with invalid serial number from pc to mac

I bought CS4 from a registered reseller a while ago, but now when I try to register the download, it says the serial number is invalid. I am now unable to reach the reseller. I have recently moved from pc to mac and would like to purchse CS5. Is it worth trying to register the CS4 so I can qualify for the reduced rate to upgrade to CS5? Or does the change from pc to mac mean I need to purchase new software entirely and pay the full rate?

You have to contact Adobe ....They will check the serial number of the CS4 is valid or not....and will register for you.
Once registered you can straight away place the order for the CS5 on the discounted price for MAC , there will be no problem weather you have the cs4 for mac or win
You should be bothered for your CS4 serial number because if you buy the upgrade of CS5 , when you will install the product it is gonna ask you the cs4 serial number .....hence get the serial number checked otherwise you have to buy the new software entirely.
Everything is dependent on CS4 serial numbr, buying CS5 is not the problem....you should have correct serial number of cs4 , get it checked.

Problems with Ipad Serial Number

Bought a new Ipad when it came out. Like two months later had to take it in because suddenly speakers did not work. Apple sent me another Ipad. Now I just tried to register the Ipad and it says that the serial number is under another Apple ID. What should I do?

I did register the Ipad on iTunes as soon as I got it, with my same Apple iD. The problem is at the Apple Support page. On my list of Apple products registered, the only product thats shows is my Iphone. immediatly after my iphone information there is a space that ask if I want to register another product and there is where it says that the serial number appears under another Apple ID.

Help! Problems with my serial number!

Three weeks ago, I received the message that it seemed like I was working with a counterfeit version of CS3. That's not true, seven years ago I bought the total package and created an account on adobe. I am also in possession of the license code.
No problem I thought, I enter my serial number and I can go back to work. Not so! I get the message that the serial number that I have entered is not valid !!
I have a real problem, I have several projects, which I can not run now! Is there anyone who can tell me how I can solve this problem?

When I download the new application, I get the following message:
You can only install one Adobe product at a time. Complete the other installation before attempting to install. Design Premium Adobe Creative Suite 3
This is strange because when I look in task manager, there is no other process going on.
Do you have another advice for me? Whatever would still be possible is to clean the laptop (return to factory settings) the laptop. However, the license is installed twice already and when I get off CS3 i think it is not possible to install int again because i allready used 2 licences (One on the computer where I was working and one on my private laptop).

Installation Problem - Supposed Invalid Serial Number

Two months ago I bought Creative Suite 4 Student Edition online and still have yet to get it working. I must say it has been a painfully frustrating experience and I desperately need it for school. I have logged onto my Adobe online account and gone to the "My Order"'s page where there software download links are located. All 5 components downloaded successfully and the CS4 setup was launched. All CS4 components were successfully installed according to the setup however during the setup process I have never once asked to enter a serial number. Upon succesfull installation, I went into the applications folder and clicked on Adobe Illustrator and low and behold and software setup box opens and asks me to enter my serial number for the product. Naturally I enter the serial number and the setup window claims the serial number is invalid. I have tried installing the CS4 components in both USA English and International English, tried uninstalling and reinstalling, I even called Adobe for a new serial number, which they gave me and the new serial number will not even work. Please, please help!

Problem with install - serial number

I recently installed RH8 as an upgrade to X5. There is no
serial number anywhere on the DVD case so I was only able to
install it in trial mode. I spent an hour on the phone being
transferred back and forth between customer service and tech
support, each insisting it was the other department that should
help me. No luck. Does anyone know a quick way to get this issue

Alright, so a few weeks ago I bought a Wacom Bamboo Capture tablet, and it comes with a copy of Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.0
Now, I installed it previously and it worked perfectly.
Then, all of a sudden, I go to boot it up, and I'm asked for my serial... AGAIN.
Also, it's giving me the whole 'Not valid' error.
It's irritating the hell out of me.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what the possible problem could be, or how I could possibly fix it?

Aeverin I would start with removing Photoshop Elements and then reinstalling it. Also which operating system are you using? Do you have any other Adobe software installed?

Today I went from Photoshop Elements 12 and Premiere Elements 12 tryouts to the purchased boxed versions that came with two installation discs. One of the discs was for Photoshop Elements 12 and Premiere Elements 12 Windows and the other for these versions on Mac.
On Windows 7 Professional SP1 64 bit desktop computer, I was hit with Invalid Serial Number for the installation of Photoshop Elements 12 which I did first. Tried 4X, double and triple checking to make sure this was not "user error". It was not. On the 5th try, the purchased serial number was accepted and the installation went to a successful completion.
Tonight a friend alerted me to reports of similar happening for a lot of Photoshop Elements 12 Mac users. See the link posted at the top of my post.
At no time did I see this problem with Premiere Elements 12 installation from the same disc as for Photoshop Elements 12 installation.
Afterward, I installed these programs with the same installation disc on my laptop computer Windows 8 64 bit, I did not have any problems with either installation.
At this time, I do not know if this Invalid Serial Number is elusive to Photoshop Elements 12 or not.
If anyone is experiencing this problem with Premiere Elements, please let us know.
From the link above, it would appear that Adobe is working on the issue.

In my case, I had the network firewalls and anti-virus disabled when I did the installs of Photoshop Elements 12 and Premiere Elements 12 on Windows 7 64 bit as well as Windows 8 64 bit.
I was fortunate in that a 5th try of the serial number entry for the Photoshop Elements 12 install on Windows 7 64 bit was successful, so I did not have to do the computer restart and retry of the install with the purchased serial number. But, good to keep in mind, just in case.
It is ironic...last time around I got caught up in the Shared Technologies issues with Photoshop Elements 11 and Premiere Elements 11 on Windows 8 64 bit, not Windows 7 64 bit. But, in that case, I did find my way eventually to a successful install on Windows 8 64 bit. This time around it was Windows 7 64 bit where the glitch occurred, but, for me, only for Photoshop Elements 12.
But, could you clarify...are you generalizing that Photoshop Elements 12 Mac Invalid Serial Number is due to server issues and Invalid Serial Number encountered by Photoshop Elements 12 Windows is "online - due to some firewall or network issues"?
Just getting prepared for if and when more questions on Invalid Serial Number might pop up in this forum.

Hi,
Since you already have one copy activated the serial number must be logged in your account details - I would first check that the one logged and the one you are attempting to enter are the same.
You can check your account details by going to www.adobe.com and clicking on Manage Account. You need to sign in with your Adobe Id and then click on View All under Plans & Products. Next click on View your products and after a while it should produce your list.
If there is a problem with the serial number, only Adobe can help you there (we are just users). Please see the response in this thread

Probook 4515s invalid serial number after format.

Hello from beautiful Greece.
I have a probook and for many months it closed many times by it self. So i think that was fun problem. I decide to make a format and after that my pc doesnt open again.
I take a screen with invalid serial number at the left corner and after that nothing, blank screen. When i go to bios i see that there are no infos about hdd, cs, motherboard serial number etc, so i cant boot from usb. I also delete the recover section on my hdd and i cant run recovely.
I reinstall the bios but nothing. Any soloution?

Keeps coming up with Invalid serial

Hi brought the photoshop elements 11 6 months ago. Used the trial version once and wanting to use the full version. Uninstall the trial version as it came up that trial expiried. Loaded CD to use full version comes back with invalid serial number.
On the box it has Adobe Photshop Elements 11. Not trial version

This is not serial number, it is 24 digit number .

All OS X Server 10.6 purchases include a product serial number key, and this serial number key is a required part of the OS X Server installation. This is a product activation key, and as shown in the display this key begins with XSVR-106 for OS X Server 10.6. This key was included with the paperwork from the original purchase on a couple of stickers on a card, if this system was acquired with OS X Server 10.6. If this OS X Server 10.6 media was acquired from elsewhere, then look for a sticker with the media and packaging. Otherwise, please contact the vendor and ask for the serial number for the media you've acquired. If you've purchased this Mac Mini with OS X Server 10.6 from Apple directly and no longer have the key, then you'll want to contact Apple Support for assistance.
As for your second (memory) question, presumably the memory is not compatible with your particular Mac Mini, or there's a problem with the memory itself. There are usually tech specs available listing the particular requirements for the memory for a particular Mac Mini system. If you purchased this memory from Kingston specifically for this particular system, contact the Kingston support folks and ask for assistance.
If you post the specific model of Mac Mini, somebody here can probably locate the memory requirements.

"Invalid Serial Number" with "Acrobat 7.0 Standard"

I have a retail copy of "Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Standard" with a valid serial number I am trying to install. I understand that the activation servers are down, so I had downloaded the installer executable from the Adobe website so I can install without communicating with the activation servers. (22001904.exe)
I am now repeatedly receiving a "Invalid Serial Number" message when trying to install. I have verified with Adobe customer service that my serial is valid and I have the correct installation executable. Aside from that the Adobe customer service have been support me any further, and suggested I turn to the community based forums.
Any work around for this or known fixes? Thanks!

To use AA7 with Win 7, 32 or 64-bit you will have to add a PS printer. The Adobe PDF printer from AA7 will not run on Win7 and AcroTray will fail also. To get around the problem you will have to install a PS printer, either from Adobe or one of the HP color PS printer drivers. After installing, go to the properties and change the name to Adobe PDF and change the port to FILE. You will always have an extra step in the PDF creation due to the failure of AcroTray. You will have to open the file created by the printer in Distiller to create a PDF.
You will also want to do the updates (ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/win/).

The standalone version and the CC version are both the same exact program, but the licensing is completely different. It will be necessary for you to uninstall the creative cloud trial version and then install the one you purchased from Amazon. After you install, you will be able to open the same catalog and continue from where you were.
