Problems with iphone apps

So I am having issues with updating and purchasing apps on my iphone5. I checked my phone and computer to make sure that the correct apple id is there- and it is. However, when I go to update or purchase, I get my daughter's apple id and then cant do anything because my phone obviously isn't on her apple acct. Any suggestions?

My "old" 3G was given to my daughter and she's unable to upload Apps like I did before from the App Store. Does she need to try all of them she want or is there a possibility to recognize those compatible or not immediately ? Is there a better way to do it by associating the Iphone 3G to the laptop and upload from there ? Thanks for your reply.

    I live in the US and took my iPhone to Beijing for the past two weeks.  I kept it on airplane mode the whole time, but frequently found WiFi to check mail, etc.  I also tried to update a bunch of Apps as updates became available, but was unable to.  Also, my App Store app auto converted to Chinese, which I can't read.  No problem, I though.  I'll just update when I get home.  Now I'm back in the states, but the app store won't return to English and still won't let me update any apps. 
    I've tried turning off/on location service as well as closing and re-opening the App Store application, to no avail.  If it means anything, my wife is now in Hong Kong and using the same apple ID as I use on my iPhone.
    Any ideas?

    Go to Settings, iTunes & App Stores. Click on your Apple ID and log out. Log back in and see if it has changed, and if not, then after tapping on your Apple ID, click on View Apple ID, after entering your password, it will bring you to the page to change County/Region and select the US store.

    Have you tried signing out of your iTunes & App Store on your device and then back in again - Settings>iTunes & App Store, click on Apple ID, then on Sign Out. Then sign in again and see if it accepts the password.
    If that doesn't resolve the issue,  try resetting your device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the reset is complete, the Slide to Unlock screen will display. See if the problem is resolved.

    OK, let's try again. Wind is NOT a supported carrier. In order to use tethering, it must be supported and activated by your carrier for the iPhone. This usually involves an additional fee.  You will have to ask your carrier if they can enable it. Odds are, since they are not a supported carrier, they can not. If you want to use tethering, you will most likely have to switch to a supported carrier that offers this feature on the iPhone.

    Having a major problem with iBooks app. Can only get free classic books but nothign contemporary. Cannot update the app either. Works perfectly on my ipad! Should I delete the app and reload? Will I losse all the books I already have??

    It is true that all purchases should share a single Apple ID. It is also true that both iOS and OS X allow only one iCloud account per user. And it is true than every Apple ID has an iCloud account, and every iCloud account an Apple ID [1]. Most unfortunately, it is also true that many (most?) Apple customers have multiple Apple IDs (even if they don't know it - I have 4 [2]).
    So far, so simple. Here is the catch. On both iOS and OS X the Apple ID for purchases need not match the Apple ID for account-specific iCloud services. Life is much nicer if they do match, but they don't have to. Part of the bug I ran into was related to a configuration error, probably arising during Mavericks install over Mountain Lion, that gave iBooks my user account's iCloud services Apple ID rather than the iOS/iTunes store Apple ID.
    Apple's identity management is a mess of almost unfathomable proportion -- the sort of mess that every smart exec runs from. I'm certain it's gummed up by contracts with rights holders, disparate internal systems, unfortunate choices and a nest of secondary assumptions. It would take a will of iron and a lot of cleverness to solve. I'm curious whether Tim Cook will force the fix.
    [1] Curiously, however, an iCloud account does not need to have an email address, and the iCloud account email address need not match the associated Apple ID. This is yet another unfortunate edge case of the Apple ID mess.

  • Problems with Remote App on iOS 4?

    I have a new iPhone 4 and tried to use the Remote App in Connection with Apple TV. While I'am able to pair the remote app with Apple TV, I cannot use it properly. It works for a while, then it get's disconnected with a message that maybe a Firewall might be activated in the Router.
    I have no problems with Remote App connected to my iTunes Library. I also tried it with a iPod Touch which is still on iOS 3.1.3, no problems to connect to the Apple TV from there as well.
    Are there any known problems with iOS 4 and Apple TV?

    May I ask what wifi hardware you use? It might be an wifi issue, but one which is only related with the "Bonjour" protocol which seems to be used for the Remote App. I found this thread which is older (iOS 3) but describing exactly the same problems:

    bear in mind that the iphone4 is now "n" wifi compatible (2.4Ghz), so could it be that the "n" part of your network is poor and thus why you only see the problem on the iphone4 ?
    At least it is not poor when using it from other devices or moving a lot of data in other Apps. It is all Apple Hardware (nothing older than 2 years), and maybe that's the problem. I never had network hardware which made so much trouble, as Apples Airport series. I wouldn't wonder if it is an incompatibility between a new wifi chip in the iPhone 4 and a older Revision of an Airport device. But I don't know how to check - is there a system.log on the iPhone which I can access somehow?

    You are right, but how could i send it to Apple? when the phone company first replaced my iphone they had in stock alots of iphones and they just sent mine back to Apple and gave me a new one, so all i did is to give them my phone, but now how could i sent it to Apple? and i cant send it by myself, and the store wont do that, its a lost for them.. so sending it to Apple wasnt an option from the begining.
    and for the record, i dont think the store where i bought it is an authorized shop.. its just a store who boughts phone's from Apple in a low price and sells it in much more money..

    I admit that I cannot be sure that we have the same problem.
    But saying that it is not likely to be a design issue (or an issue for a specific batch) because you know 30 people without this issue, is also not really sustaining....
    The specific issue is that the mic is not working when having a phone call, but that it is working with other apps (like voicerecording) also putting the phone on the speaker works.
    Obviously you are a experienced moderator of this forum and you might even have connections within Apple Support. So in spite of reprimand me, it would be nice to get a solution for this issue, which apperently many iPhone4 users suffer reading these posts....

    Does anyone have problems with iPhone 5 getting hot? I just bought a new iPhone 5 &amp; it's gotten hot twice. Once when I was on FaceTime for 30 min it got hot about 15 min into the call. &amp; once when I was downloading some apps.

    It is normal for it to get warm when it's being used, especially if it is hot outside. It can even get uncomfortably warm. As long as it is not causing you physical harm (as in giving you burns) or displaying a temperature warning, then it's normal behavior. It's like taking your laptop outside and using it. Except the laptop will probably burn you.

    Problems with n97 apps connecting to network (Vodafone UK – 3G)
    Recently a number of my apps which used to connect automatically to the internet (which ever was available – known wi-fi or 3g) have stopped doing this.  They now only connect to one known wi-fi.
    I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling each app, but this hasn’t solved the problem.  I’ve checked for software updates and do not believe any have been applied or are available.  All apps have been downloaded via Ovi on the phone.  I still am able to access the internet by the web browser which was installed on the phone and via google maps (which also still manages GPS position, search, etc).
    The apps which I notice causing a problem are:
    Sainsbury’s/nectar
    Tesco
    Map my tracks
    Snaptu
    Opera Mini
    Any one got any ideas???

    I have the same problem since i updated my mac to 10.5.6.
    Each time I have to do a diagnostic and retype the WEP password to have the internet connection.

    Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
    Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
    Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
    Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
    Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
    Release the Buttons...
