Problems with iPhone phone
I have a problem with using my phone that started several weeks ago and has been steadily getting worse. When I make a call, the person on the other end answers and I can hear them but they can't hear me. This also happens occasionally when someone calls me. I can hear them but they can't hear me. I have good reception, 4 or 5 bars. I haven't accidentally hit the mute button with my cheek. I try turning the mute button on and off with no results. I have shut the phone off for a while and then started it up and there is no improvement. Today I was probably able ot only talk to 60% of the people that I tried dialing. There is one person in particular that I have to call multiple times per day for business and this happens 95% of the time with her. I depend on being able to use the phone; I'm in the life safety business. As far as I can tell, everything else works, other apps work just fine. I can text and email, surf the net, etc. I have an iPhone 4 version 6.0.1 (software?). It doesn't seem to matter if I am on a 3G or E network. The problem persists. Any help would be much appreciated. No, I don't want to update the iOS, the GUI is butt ugly (Steve would be turning over in his grave if he saw this iOS) and everyone that I know that has an iPhone 4 and has done the 'upgrade' has had problems with slow operation and battery suck.

If this subject is in here already, I missed it in my search.
I've had my iPhone since Nov of 2007 and haven't had any problems with the phone side of it, until now. I've updated to 3.0.1, if I'm able to make/receive a call it's of very poor quality and usualy so bad I can't understand the person on the other end. If I haven't manually disconnected in frustration the phone will drop the call anyway.
The nearest Apple store is 3 hours away but from what I've been reading in here, the "Experts" don't know anything about v1.0 iPhones anyway so what would be the point of going. I have no need to upgrade to a 3G because I won't even use it for half of whats capable of. Heck, the v1.0 is more handheld than I need but up until now it has been the best phone I've ever had.
Is this an issue of the hardware being too old to play nice with the newer software or is this an ATT issue of using EDGE on a 3G network?There is no issue with the older iPhones and the new OS (I have older original iPhone) running the latest OS (as so some of my friends, all with no issue).
Also, you are not using Edge on a 3G network, you are using Edge on Edge (they are different, the towers that had Edge get upgraded to add 3G or new towers are put in place with 3G and no Edge, yada, it isn't like Edge is replaced by 3G, they live separate lives) -
My iphone 4 was crushed on the road. Bought a 4 replacement tried to restore it in itunes to get my contact info and it said there was a problem with my phone and I should contact apple store. What does that mean please?
Is the replacement exactly the same as the original ie same memory size & same version? If so it may require updating the OS software before trying to restore your stuff from the backup.

It was replaced by the iPhone 5C, which is essentially the same phone except for the case, better LTE converage and a larger battery.

I bought my iphone from carephone warehouse, sim free and with no contract. 5 months down the line I had a problem with the phone and I booked a genius appointment, they swapped my phone and gave me a new phone but they locked my phone to tmobile!!! I now do not use tmobile and I have an iphone which is locked to tmobile!!! I bought an unlocked phone and apple have locked it!!! what can i do?
In response to this, Carphone Warehouse (and Phones4U) sell what is commonly referred to as "sim free" handsets - these are not the same as unlocked. Sim free handsets will automatically lock to the first network sim card that the phone is activated with, and that will be permanently. The only way to unlock the handset would be to go through the network (T-Mobile I understand) and request they unlock it for you. More than likely, there will be a charge as you are no longer a T-Mobile customer.
If you ever want to purchase a new unlocked iPhone, the only place you can buy one is from Apple directly. Any other place will most likely sell sim free handsets. -
I have iphone 4 and the software is ios 7.0.2. I am facing problems with my phone. Since the last software update my phone has started giving problems. like it hangs sometime when i recieve an incoming call. The carrier status bar shifts down a bit and sometimes it vanishes automatically. I,m confused.
Secondly i have an update IOS 7.0.4 waiting in my Software Update menu. I have tried so many times to update my iphone but it always fails to update the IOS 7.0.4. Any body suggest anything regarding thisWow. Lots of help. Thanks apple

hey my iphone was working perfectly and then i sent it to check up and it came back with the itunes icon and data cable on it. so i tried plugging it in the computer and a message on itunes came up saying theres a problem with your phone and it may be damaged and cannot be activated. HELP PLEASE!!

It does sound like the logic board. It's not uncommon for an iBook with a faulty logic board to work intermittently. You can't count on it, though. It could fail completely at any time.
DT&T Computer Services in Fremont, California has the best deal I've found on logic board replacements. They do free diagnostics, so they would make sure that's what you need, and there is a six-month warranty on the repair.

My wife has a motorola KRZR K1M Cell Phone. I have iPhone 4S. My phone (4S) receives and display text messages from my wife's phone. However, my phone does nort receive or display pictures sent from my wife's phone. However, my daughter has a 4S phone and she receives pictures sent from my wife's phone. Do you have MMS enabled, both on the phone and also within your account? Remember, MMS requires a data connection.

If the login box keeps popping up either your acct is disabled or you are mistyping your pw.

Try this First...
Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.
