Problems with keeping original contacts

How can I keep my original contacts that have been merged with iCloud? The problem is that the iCloud account is in use already and all the contacts that were merged in that account. Have all been put into my contacts. I want to delete all those contacts but keep my originals ones. How can i do that?

Thanks for the question. You'll want to delete and re-add your iCloud account (utilizing the new Apple ID address). When prompted, opt to keep as much information on your device as possible. The following article provides information on how to do so:

Turn off iCloud completely
Depending on whether you want to stop using iCloud on all or only some devices, do one or more of the following:
On your iOS device’s Home screen, tap Settings > iCloud, then at the bottom of the screen, tap Delete Account.

I can't text a contact but can voice phone them. I don't have the problem with any other contact and the contact is not blocked. I have an iphone5.0 OS 8.1.3

Sorry to hear you're experiencing an issue with your Call Logs.
Is the name in the log showing as a different contact entirely, or is the name not how you manually entered it in your phone?
Does this happen with all your contacts in the logs or just specific ones?
Do you have multiple link sources for your Contacts in the Contacts app?

Help, problem with keeping ipod connected..

When I connect my ipod, it updates in itunes and then disconnects itself from the computer...how do I make it so after it updates it stays connected and keeps flashing "Do Not Disconnect" on the ipod?

OK, I do understand you may be having some early problems with just a little bit of data with a few tunes. Have you thought about what you will do in the future as you add more? This is my post on that topic:
I have been trying to find a way to upload my CD library to my new 60GB iPod (that function works fine) and classify / manage my CD library on it (using iTunes)- that function is nearly unworkable. Now, today, I have used my only 'free' direct APPLE Support contact and the basic answer was 'Too Bad for You!! The iPod does not have nor support multi level indexing or playlists!!!! So...go ahead, load 500 or 600 Cd's onto your iPod and then try to find the tracks you wish to play!! It can't be done except for a 'flat' one level filing system!!! What a BUMMER

3g Crashes --- NEVER had a problem with 2G (original iPhone...)

Using iPhone 3G 2.0.2 for 1 day after having the original since it launched. NEVER had a significant problem with 2G, but ALREADY my 3G has frozen several times, most recently this pm and I had to do the "Mr.Buzz" MULTIPLE reset x 15-20minutes to get back to "normal"(?hopefully) without having to do a lengthy/tedious system restore...
Apple...FIX THIS---it's time to quit locking threads and ignoring problems, and instead FIX THEM---if it's an app doing it, then there needs to be more constraints on programming---this is an open/closed platform a la XBox 360/PS3 and there simply shouldn't be this many problems...

If the phone will not power on try these three things:
Connect it to your phone charger
Connect it to your computer and open up iTunes
Perform a hard reset (Hold down the sleep/wake (top) button at the same time as the home (circle) button for 45 seconds. When the apple appears on the screen let go of both buttons.

Problems with Search in Contacts (Public folder favourite)

Office Version:Office 2010Operating System:Windows 7
I am running Outlook 2010, connecting to an SBS2003 server by HTTP and running in Cached mode.
My business contacts are stored in a Public Folder, and my personal contacts in my local Contacts folder.
The Public Folder is in my Favourites, and is designated an 'Outlook Address Book'
'Download Public Folder Favourites' is enabled in the Exchange Mail Account settings
I am having problems with Search (which was never a problem in Outlook 2007).
If I select the Contacts shortcut, under 'My Contacts I have listed in order:
Suggested Contacts
Office Contacts (this is my public folder favourite)
Contacts
Search Results
If I select the Office Contacts link, and attempt to search for a contact whose contact card I can actually see on the screen, the search will fail. The scope is defaulting to 'All Contact Items' (which is fine), but if I change this to 'Current Folder'
then the contact is immediately found.
In OL2007 I could search for a contact, even when not in a contact folder, and it would find every instance of it immediately.
Any ideas here? I have been told to rebuild my index, which I will do over the weekend as it will take some time. But I have doubts it will make much difference. This is a new machine with a fresh installation of Win7 x64 and Office 2010.

Keith, I have this same issue here. I looked on the Small Business Server pages for an answer as suggested by Xiu but could not find any. I'm not sure why this would be a SBS issue as we are not running SBS and have this issue.
For some reason, "All Contact Items" doesn't include the current folder if it is a public folder.
Did you ever get an answer/solution?

Problem with VMD_EI_API for contacts

Hi,
I have problem with creation of vendor. I'me using the class VMD_EI_API with success for general data, company, purchasing, bankdata but I'm not able to create vendor's contacts.
I have no error message but vendor's contacts are not created. I have implemented the contact segment (name, last name,function, department (knvk)). Can you please give me an example if you have succeeded.

Reinstallation for IOS skype. problems with groups and contacts

I was having a problem with Skype on my Iphone; new messages wouldn't load, and if they did it was around 10 minutes after they sent them. So I uninstalled the app and then reinstalled it. As soon as I logged into my account I realized most of my contacts didn't have a profile picture, nor did it have our conversations. It also got rid of all my skype groups; I still got notifications for those groups, but if I clicked on them it would bring me to a page saying that it's an empty group. Also if I get on skype on my laptop everything is fine, I still have my groups, my contacts all have pictures and our conversations are still there. I tried to reinstall it on my phone again, but this time all my groups were still gone, but different contacts wern't complete. Because I still had the contacts I tried to send a message on of my contacts that didn't have a profile picture and although it said it sent, I never got a reply. So I got on my laptop and asked if he got it, and he said he didn't. Is anyone else haing this problem? If so do you know how to fix it? Thank you

Ok I just talked to support via chat and apparently this is a known iPhone mobile App issue. This is exactly what he said to me: "I was informed that this issue already have a ticket to our engineers and they are already working on this one. This has something to do with the latest version of Skype for tablets and mobiles. We may release another version of Skype app so once an update is avaialble, update the app on your phone ASAP." Hope this ease some frustration.

Corrupt contact causing problems with rest of contact list

Tried using the search function, but got nothing that helped.
I have one corrupt contact that I cannot delete or edit. This contact is about 25 into my list of 567 and as a result, any apps that need access to the contact list do not work, as they cannot read beyond this corrupted contact. So Vlingo, WhatsApp, etc. Are not working properly.
Anybody have any idea what I can do to solve this?

I am having same problem too on my BB 9300. Next to 'new contact' I have ' * No contact * ' followed by about 12 empty spaces, followed by my contacts with one corrupt contact within. I cant fill up the space and I cant delete or edit the corrupt contact too. Please, is it possible to delete all my contact?I dont mind to restore all afresh. I will appreciate if the solution stated here could be forwarded to xxxxxxxx too.Thanks

Problems with Siri and Contacts (outside the US)

I have 3 major software problems (bugs) and i would like to report them in hopes that Apple would release a quick and prompt fix for these problems.
I think i speak for many when i say ever since the IOS 5 release users have noticed a major issues/problem with the format of their contacts and area/country codes.
Problem # 1.
I live in Kuwait, and all my contact details have a country code (GSM) prefix +965 followed by 8 numbers. With the last IOS 5 release whether you add or remove the prefix the contact's name is not displayed on the caller ID. I tried to save the contact as it shows on my Caller ID but the problem presisted. I even tried switching international assist on and off and that didn't work either. There's a huge forum for Apple customers outside the US facing problems with their contacts and caller ID ever since IOS 5 was lanuched.
Problem #2.
I have bought my Iphone 4S just few days ago, excited about Siri like many, i asked Siri to call George from my contacts, and Siri replies i'm sorry i can't call george, i tried all my contacts and all attempts failed, i tried adding the country prefix, and removing it and still Siri can't make calls from my own phone book (contacts). I do realize that Siri is in Beta, however, Siri did dial a US number perfectly from Kuwait, which tells me the problem is again related to where you are, and what country code format are you trying to call.
Problem # 3.
When setting up Imessage, Kuwait is not listed in the countries of choice, not sure why but it would good if all the countries are listed.

Problem with keeping attributes updated

We have a problem with the server model in Designer.
We have made a E/R diagram and genereted it to a server model diagram. Afterwards we want to delete some attributes which we delete back in the E/R program. Then we make some new attributes instead and generate a new server model diagram but the attributes which we have deleted in the E/R diagram is still present in the new server model diagram. The new attributes are there too. It is like the server model diagram only updates the new attributes, but doesn't delete the old, wrong, attributes.
What can we do to solve the problem?

DDT will modify the attributes values (datatype, size etc.) on the target tables.
DDT doesn't drop the column if its corresponding attribute is deleted in ERD.
However we can achieve this by deleting the table definition from DE and then executing the DDT on the new/modified Entity.

Problems with one particular contact on Facetime

I am having problems connecting to my daughter via FaceTime, it rings for a while then gives the response that she is unavailable when I know she is. I am in France she is in England. I have no problem with other English connections. I switched off and on, and tried resetting time and date.

Make sure she have no restrictions set
Settings>General>Restrictions
Make sure her Date and Time is set to Automatic
Settings>General>Date & Time>Set Automatically

HT204053 Calendar shows up on i Cloud but it doesn't show any appointments. No problem with mail or Contacts. Anybody else having this problem?

I have spend days trying to figure out why my appointments don't show up on the iCloud calendar. iCal on my Mac is just fine, all appointments are visible and working. I can get contacts on iCloud and Mail on iCloud but calendar shows up with no appointments. Help !

I have this same problem. However, if I enter all my appointments on the iCloud calendar, they magically show up on my macbook air calendar.
I think the problem might be something to do with different logons. I have just bought this macbook air and when I transferred my old computer's data onto the new computer, time machine via migrantion assistant, it forced me to create a different user for the old data. The new identity automatically created by the new OS syncs to iCloud, but not the old data identity. Since I have all my data on the old identity, I want to keep using this. But how to get it to sync to iCloud? Can anyone help us? I can't see my mail on iCloud either - at least not from the old identity.

Problems with keeping 4:3 and 16:9 dimensions

I'm relatively inexperienced with DVD SP, particularly when it comes to working with 16:9.
I've made a DVD with 4 different tracks - 3 tracks are originally 16:9 footage exported to .m2v using Compressor's DVD export settings (best quality - 120 minutes), while the 4th track is SD footage.
When I play the DVD on a widescreen TV, I get the exact opposite of what I want - the 16:9 footage is unnecessarily letterboxed (rather than filling the TV's 16:9 dimensions), and thus becomes squashed, while the 4th track (the SD one) becomes stretched and completely fills the TV.
When I play the same DVD on a 4:3 TV, the 16:9 footage rather than being letterboxed and keeping its 16:9 dimension, it fills the TV completely becoming squished in the process.
Finally, when I play the DVD on my computer, all the dimensions are exactly as they should be.
Advice on what I should be looking for to get these settings right would be much appreciated.

Sounds like the setup in the DVD-player is wrong. Enter the menu in the DVD set-top player, and tell it what kind of TV you are using (4:3/16:9).
Also make sure that you have tagged the tracks in DVDSP correctly. In the Inspector, select 4:3 for the 4:3 track, and 16:9 Letterbox for the 16:9 tracks.
