Problems with Language Menus

My DVD supports multiple languages. To try to figure out how to set up multiple-language menus, I've gone thorugh and added the German text assets to all of my menus by choosing "German" in the menu language pop-up. So far so good: all of my menus have both English and German assets, and I can toggle between them by selecting the appropriate language from the pop-up in the View menu.
I went to the DVDSP Preferences, chose "German" as the default Menu language on the Simulation tab, and ran the Simulator. But the menus show up in English rather than German.
What's going on here? Is there a bug in the DVDSP simulator? What could I have overlooked?

Did you check to see if somehow you made the German text the English text and vice versa? (So you are actually seeing the German version but you put English text on the German menu?) Sounds like you did it properly, but that would be the first thing I would look at, would be one that is easy to troubleshoot and could have come up and that you set the menu language in simulator not another setting
Just tested and it seemed to work, FWIW these were the steps
1.) New Project
2.) Add Language (so English and German in outline Tab)
3.) Go to Menu, make sure view is English in inspector
4.) Create Button - type in "English" for text
5.) Switch view in inspector for the menu to German, the word "English" dissappears, type in "German" for the button text.
6.) Set DVD SP Simulator prefs for either one and it worked.

Problem with contextual menus after 10.9.3 update

Hello, since the update to 10.9.3 i am experiencing problems with contextual menus. The problem is more frequent when I use an external screen.
First problem: I am losing the icons in the top bar of the finder. This happens mostly on external screens.
Second problem: The arrows indicating submenus upon a right click are lost. This problem is also present when I use the internal screen of my Macbook.
Sometimes, the icons in the left menu bar of the finder are also lost (mostly Dropbox):
Is there anything I can do? Is this a known problem?
My current system:
Macbook Pro Retina 13" (late 2013)

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

Hi,
try to work on the charecter code set UTF-8 or UTF-16. You can define this in html.
Or encode the charecter using java script.

Problems with spoken menus in windows XP

Hello,
I have bought a IPod nano of fourth generation.
I have Windows XP ServicePack 3, the Sapi 5.1 speak engine, and the syntheses of voice of Loquendo (Spanish), Microsoft TTS (English) and eSpeak (Spanish and English).
I have installed ITunes 8 in my PC. I have selected the Spanish language in the preferences of ITunes.
I have put the eSpeak voice (in Spanish) in the Control Panel / Speech.
I have opened the ITunes, I have marked the checkbox: Enable spoken menus for accessibility, and I have press in the apply button. Then appeared me a message saying to me that the spoken menus were being generated But after awhile, when already it has finished, I turn on the Ipod but it does not speak.
This I have made same one it with the work computer and it has worked to me, and I have the same operating system and configuration.
Somebody knows what can be happening?
If I don't encounter solution to this problem I do not believe that I will give back the Ipod, since I am blind and I need that the reproducer speaks to me.

Tony, some posters have reported that the XP drivers for the Vostro 1500 will work for the M1330.

However before installing any Sigmatel driver after an OS installation you should follow this order of driver installation:
a. Install Dell Notebook System Software R154270 (click the + sign next to System Utilities). Restart.
b. Next install the Intel Mobile Chipset driver 153997 (click the + sign next to Chipset). Restart.
c. Finally re-install the Sigmatel audio driver R158235 (click the + sign next to Audio).
Some v1500 users have reported that they had to "uninstall an unknown PCI device in Device manager first , then install the driver normally".
Rarely there will still be a problem with the installation at this point (in XP). In those cases follow this tip from forum member rpilT2005: check in the Device Manager for a "PCI Device" with a yellow question mark next to it, under the "System Devices" grouping. Hit 'update driver' on that one, and it should find the driver.
A previous poster was able to get his audio working by following the above instructions more or less He said that after installing the Chipset driver he next uninstalled the unknown PCI device. He let Windows look for a new driver but he said he had to point it to the folder with the driver. Then he wrote, "Xp still said that an error occurred and the device may not work properly, but it did work fine and I also don't have a yellow question mark..." I know this is confusing.

Problem with Motion Menus

I'm using iDVD 6.0.4 and am having a problem with the menu system.
Everything is fine, and the project is about ready to burn, however whenever I go to add a still picture for the background of the two Chapters selection screens, the Motion Menus time jumps from 4:45/15:00 to over 15:00 by just adding one picture.
What is causing this, and how do I get it to stop!?
Any help would be appreciated.

I had the same problem. Took ages to figure out the problem and the error message does not show up in the manual, though the 15 time limit for 4:3 is mentioned. Does this work better in iDVD08?

Problems with language in ARFC2

Hi,
after migrating JCO Connections to ARFC2 I have a problem with the messages and textes from the RFC Functions.
Before ARFC2 the messages where in the correct language of the logged in user.
But now in ARFC2 there are only the german messages.
Are there any settings, that the language of the user should be used?

Problems with language support (interpunction)

Hi, i am writing screenplays in slovak language and i have encountered a serious problem with interpunction in Adobe Story. There are few letters that are not working. Concretely ľ,š,č,ť,ž. Other ones in the same row (ý,á,í,é) are working correctly. Please correct me if i am doing something wrong but i couldnt figure out solution to this problem alone so i am writing here. My tools: Win7, current version of Google Chrome, online version of St (standalone app has the same issue). Are you planning to fix this issue and if then when? I am using different solution to writing scripts, Adobe Story looks definitely better but without proper interpunction i cant use it. Thanks for answer.

ES is the Language for spanish..But the Flat file should have to represent 'S' for Spanish.
Check in Table T002 for the symbols which represent Languages and that to be used in flat file.

Instalation Disc Missing, problem with language setup

I have problem with installation of windows 7 home premium (x64). I got licence for polish edition of your OS. Now i was forced to reinstall this, but i lost my disc. I have found an english wersion of installation disc, so i thought hell yeah i will install
this and switch language later as many yours and external help sites says.
Well of course it can't be that easy, BECAUSE YOU HAVE BLOCKED LANGUAGE CHANGE in this particular OS.
So i would like to ask, can you provide a download link for polish installation disc for win home premium (x64)? (I have found lot of possible language versions but not polish)
By the way i have also tried to install language pack manually. What a suprise your clean fresh installed OS deletes any *.cab files, including the ones stored on external drives. I have my own *. cab packages with my personal files witch were also deleted
and if i had'nt made a backup - i would be seriously angry.

Mac Firefox has a problem with dropdown menus over a flash

I have notice a problem over the last couple of months when
using drop down menus from P7, and Quckmenu. The drop down menus
appears to clip any flash movies below them when using transparent
settings in css. The recent case the transparent settings where
apply as following: The wmode of the flash movie set to
transparent, no problem with flash covering the menu. #qm0 is my
sub container for the drop down. When commenting out the
transparent settings, no problem on the Mac. The Firefox browser is
2.0, and the Mac OS is OS 10, Flash Player 9. I am thinking this is
Adobe Flash player problem.

My temp work around is to check the http_user_agent for Mac.

Some gestures have been removed in Firefox 4.
You can restore the zoom feature by changing the values of the related prefs on the about:config page.

Problems with language dependent master data

Hi,
I created a InfoObject with language dependent master data and I am trying to upload data from a flat file.
My flat file has a 2 digit language code (EN,DE,FR,JP,ES) and when uploading the data it seems that SAP BW is only using the first digit which leads to the situation that EN and ES get treated as duplicate records.
Any help would be appreciated

Problem with languages in a servlet

I've created a guestbook servlet that receives requests from an HTML page. When checked it worked fine.
The problems started then I tried to add entries in other languages to the Database. I've noticed that my characters for some reason were replaced with question-marks (?).
The funny part is that when I try to print the '?'s to the response, it gets converted back to letters. The problem is that if I want to work with the text (for instance using String.charAt()) I get only '?'s.
Even worse, when added to the Database and retrieved back, the '?'s don't get converted back to letters anymore! So my output page is full of ????????-???? ???-?????.
I am clueless! maybe it's something with the HTML form, maybe the character-set, I don't know.
Please help, it's urgent. (P.S. The other language is Hebrew)

the problem is with encoding and decoding, from a servlet , running on Tomcat , to Oracle DB.

The problem:
I am using Oracle 8.1.7 DB , in a Charest ISU 8859-9-8 ( Hebrew ), I use a thin client as the JDBC driver .
I have a servlet that all it does is getting and updating one of the table
The character set in the servlet is too , ISO 8859-8 . This is done this way:

I use the doGet method of a servlet to get parameters to retrieve from Oracle. this is done through the URL, for example :

There is no problem in getting and inserting English characters.
There is a problem when i try to get or to insert Hebrew characters.
i get ???? in DB , for both if i write yair in the url in Hebrew , or i write yair in %E9%E9%E9%F8 which is the decimal representation
For example , if i insert a string in Hebrew , it looks like this "?????" ( in SQL +)
this is how i get the requests from the url

Are there any problems with motion menus and buttons in DVDSP 2 on OS 10.4?

I have not used DVD Studio Pro 2 since upgrading to Tiger but it appears to no longer be showing moving motion on menus and buttons.
Are there any problems that I should be aware of when using DVDSP2 on OS 10.4?
I have not upgrade to a newer version only because I do not have any HD software to create DVDs.

I have a similar problem.
I bought my Nokia E50 with a OS including english, german, czech, slovak, polish and french, after an update via NSU there are only English, Indonesian, Pilipino and Malaysian... nothing else.
Is there any way, how to have the phone updated without such a stupid language change?

Problems with sub menus in Internet Explorer

I suggest that you resurrect the original SpryMenuBarHorizontal.css and start again.
