Problems with many things.
Hello, sorry for my englisch,
there are a few topics that not work with the new aperture i just want to give some feedback.
Import with my camera is neerly inposseble, aperture do not find my D700 and i use now Nikon transfer and then i import it in aperture .
When i crop i olmost have to go out of the program?? before i contineu with editing.
there are a few other thing but i can live with that, and waite for a good update that handels the bugs.
Fore the rest is it a better program now and you can do al lot of thing.
Thank you for listening and al the best.
HAVE A NICE DAY.
Marc Vanraes
I don't have a D700 so I can't comment on import issues -- although you're the first post I've seen to report issues with that model so I'm wondering if there isn't some other issue involved that's giving you grief.
As for cropping... I've never had any issues there. How are you trying to perform a crop and what happens when you do?
When you select 'crop' mode, you should always see the full-image. You draw the crop-box and it will shade everything beyond the border of your crop selection but it will still display those areas just in case you want to move or re-size the box.
Aperture is non-destructive. It will never +actually delete+ the areas outside your crop selection. Rather it just makes a note not to display them. To see the final result of cropping you have to leave crop mode -- for example just pick the 'selection tool' icon (this is not a defect -- this is intended functionality for a non-destructive tool). If you re-enter crop mode it'll revert to showing the full image again (as though un-cropped) but shade the areas beyond the crop boundary. This allows you to change how you'd like it cropped in the future.

Got problems with my MacbookPro. The Apple store changed the motherboard. Have now problems with many songs in my Itunes library. Do not have access anymore because Itunes says that I am using more than 5 computers which is not true. How to resolve?
iTunes Store: About authorization and deauthorization - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1420 - and another helpful post: https://discussions.apple.com/message/17828050
You will have to deauthorize all and then reauthorize specific computers. Changing your motherboard has apparently made iTunes think you have a different machine. -
Performance problem with many lookups
Hello,
In my corporate system, I have a database table with many relationships. The JHeadstart Group used to represent it has 13 lookups, some of them are choices and some are lovs. All lookups are based on "free" lookup VOs, withou any kind of View Link relationships.
So the initial model was:
One "main" view object representing one entity object, with many (13) lookups to set some attributes.
It was just working fine while under development, but when we put it on production servers with real data, it started running very very slow when quering in the main UIX table. In create mode it was working fine. I realized that it could be all of those lookups with all that data (some of lookup tables has >300 entries). If I undestood correctly, those attributes associated with lookups are "rendered" by matching.
So I changed the model to:
One "main" view object representing all possible entity objects, to fetch all attributes coming from relationships directly in that view object, and many lookups used just in create mode.
It worked fine, and now response times are acceptable. But I'm still with difficult in the detail disclousure feature, where I'm still gettting up to 15-20s to render the details. In detail disclousure, I think it uses lookups to render attributes and so it slow down again.
Is there anything I can do do speed up these queries?
Thanks,
EduardoI've changed some choices to lovs and now it's working fine.

Hi everybody, I am building a GUI using swing, everything is ok, but some times the OutOfMemoryError() occurs. I have 256 Mb in my PC, but in my application I use a lot of components too.
Does any body know how can I manage the memory and free the space that is not in use????
Thanks in advance.Hi!
I've the same problem with some of my applications. What I do is to set the max heap for the java virtual machine. I work with jdk 1.1.8, and the line command parameters are:
java -ms14m -mx60m my_application
where -ms is the initial memory heap and -mx is the maximum memory heap. You can increase them if you continue having memory problems.
About freeing the memory, try searching in the forum for "garbage collection". There are some recomendations to do that.
Hope it helps!

[help needed] Javadoc problem with many files
Hi,
I have an Ant script generating my javadoc every night. I have about 5700 java files making about 42MB of data.
It worked fine for two years until two weeks ago, where the script stopped with the following message :
<<
[... big snip...]
[javadoc] C:\Temp\Java\blablabla.java:58: cannot resolve symbol
[...snip...]
[javadoc] public HtmlComponent getCell(
[javadoc] ^
[javadoc] 100 errors
[javadoc] 1 warning
BUILD SUCCESSFUL
Total time: 1 minute 40 seconds
>>
If I execute the javadoc generation on a smaller set of java source files, I still have a lot (100 displayed) of error messages like the one above (which generaly don't stop javadoc), but the generation continues :
<<
[...big snip...]
[javadoc] C:\Temp\Java\xxx.java:12: cannot resolve symbol
[...snip...]
[javadoc] public SelectionNoop(Fig fig) {
[javadoc] ^
[javadoc] Standard Doclet version 1.4.2_08
[javadoc] Generating C:\temp\JavadocNewSI\constant-values.html...
[javadoc] Building tree for all the packages and classes...
[javadoc] Generating C:\temp\JavadocNewSI\com\zz\common\job\common\class-use\ManagerDelegate.html...
[...big snip...]
[javadoc] Generating C:\temp\JavadocNewSI\stylesheet.css...
[javadoc] 6251 warnings
BUILD SUCCESSFUL
Total time: 23 minutes 33 seconds
>>
I don't understand what's going on. It is not a memory problem since it issues an intelligible message.
I also managed to generate javadoc for several subsets, so it can't be a problem with one file or folder crashing javadoc.
Any help welcome,
TugWell, it seems that the cause was indeed an empty java file...
The generation fails if the empty java file is the set AND a refering file is in the set. If only one of these conditions are missing, then javadoc goes on...
What I don't understand is that the empty file used to be here since may 2005 and the referring class is unchanged since 2004... it never bugged javadoc before.
Creepy...

Thank you for your answer. The function module SMUM_XML_PARSE is a good way to Read a XML. Now I have found the Correct way with simple transfer and it works with an array too.
many regards

P7N Diamond - Problems with different things
Hi, n0id here.
I have recently bought a computer in parts (from different web shops).
Yesterday I finally got the processor and was able to build the computer, so I started building the computer.
After about an hour of mounting the parts, I decided it was finished, so I powered it on and watched it boot.
The first thing I noticed was that if my USB Keyboard was plugged in, POST would freeze at "Initializing USB Devices".
I figured it was only temporarily, so I switched to a PS/2 Keyboard, which helped.
The next thing that happened was the BIOS was not able to find my Hard Drive (SATA). I was wondering if because the motherboard support SATAII if SATA drives wheren't compatible. I opened the case and saw that the SATA cable wasn't plugged in properly. So after putting it back in properly, I booted the computer again.
So, now that POST was running OK and BIOS found all my components, I decided to install Windows XP.
After about a minute of reading the cd (windows initializes the installation program in DOS) it stopped reading, and the computer freezed. Finally, It got to the point where I can partition the HDD. But the computer would always reboot at this point. I haven't figured out why yet.
So I connected the HD to my old computer and installed windows here. That worked.
I reconnected the HD to the new computer and after windows loaded, I got a blue screen and the computer would reboot again.
So I decided to remove some of the components. I removed one RAM module, the soundcard (Creative XFI Gamer) and unplugged the 120mm back fan. At this point I was able to format the drive and install windows without a problem.
So I decided to insert the components again, but when I then started the computer, I didn't get a picture on the monitor. I tried with a different monitor and with a different graphics card, neither of which made a difference.
At that point I went to bed because I had already spent seven hours trying to figure things out and it had gotten very late.
So now I am here asking for any guidance.
My computer specs are:
MSI P7N Diamond motherboard,
2x 1Gb Kingston 1066 Memory modules running at 1.8v,
Geforce 7900GS,
Creative X-Fi Gamer soundcard,
Intel Q6600 G0 @ 2.4Ghz,
Thanks for any help.Hello again.
I am trying to overclock my Q6600.
Everytime the FSB is over 267mhz (2.4ghz CPU Clock) I get a BSOD: "IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL".
Then it's dumping the memory and restarting.
When Windows starts up again, the FSB is back at 267mhz.
I am using the application MSI Dual Core Center, that followed with my motherboard.
I noticed in this application that memory voltage was set to 1.9v. The memory modules I bought are 1.8v because when I bought the MSI P7N Diamond, it said it only supported 1.8v memory. aww :S
Anyway, my full specs are:
Intel Q6600 (G0 stepping) - 2.4ghz
MSI P7N Diamon (7510) Mainboard
1x 1GB Kingston (KVR1066D2N7K2/2G) memory modules, 1.8v, 1066Mhz,
Antec NeoPower 650 (650W, 3x 12v @ 16A)
GeForce 7900GS
Creative X-Fi Gamer
Win XP Pro, SP2.
I am going to browse around the forums for similiar problems, though I thought I'd post this now.
After browsing the forums I've learned a few things.
My Q6600 has a VID of 1.3250 and the box it came with said that 1.35v is the max. So I have changed the voltage to +0.0250 and was able to clock the CPU to 2.67Ghz without a problem (temps are 33 - 36 celcius on idle.)
My question this time is: even though the box says 1.35v max will I safely be able to set the voltage higher than that?
I would assume that Intel is setting a maximum that is lower than the actual max, just to keep the processor safe. But I do not know stuff like that :P
My target is 3ghz, and if reaching that clock means I need to apply a greater voltage than 1.35v, and it isn't safe; that would totally suck.
edit,
To achieve 3ghz I supplied these settings in the BIOS:
FSB: 1333 Mhz
DRAm: 800 Mhz
EIST: Disabled
Multiplier: x9
Nb voltage: 1.35
FSB Term.: 20
CPU GTL Fef: 5
The cores are currently at 36-38 at idle, compared to 28-32 on stock clock.
I will see if I can buy some extra fans to put in the front to blow cool air into the case, and maybe buy a new cpu cooler.
Btw, the vCore is 1.3v (and it's also set to auto in bios). -

Is it possible that processing with faulty memory wrote garbage into some apps? I intend using a clean install (re-install) of Maverick. To recover my data and apps I intend to use Migration Assistant and Time Machine Backups. Would that solve my problems or would Migration Assistant reintroduce the problems?

My mistake.. -
Hi
I have 1 forest (root domain and 1 child).
In root domain, one SCCM 2012 R2 CU4 (Server A = Windows 2012 R2) and one SQL 2012 (Server B = Windows 2012 R2). MP and MP installed on Server A
In child domain, one server (Server C = Windows 2012) on this server i installed MP and DP.
In child domain, i have Windows 7 (Client 1), i installed client SCCM manually (ccmsetup.exe /mp:Server C). My client appear in console SCCM on server A (Client is assign, Client = Yes with a good site code)
If i go to my "client 1", in console, right clic, Install Client and go to ccm.log ( ERROR: Unable to access target machine for request..... access denied or invalid network path.). My server A try to install directly on my client, you
not use my MP in same domain. WHY?
I create a boundary, boundary groups, i configure a client push account (with a network share onmy server C), configure network access account.
All ports is open across Server A, Server B and Server C. No firewall activate on Server A,B and C and Client 1)
ThanksHi,
Please check the article below that describes the ports are used with client push installation.
"In addition to the ports listed in the following table, client push installation also uses Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) echo request messages from the site server to the client computer to confirm whether the client computer is available
on the network. ICMP is sometimes referred to as TCP/IP ping commands. ICMP does not have a UDP or TCP protocol number, and so it is not listed in the following table. However, any intervening network devices, such as firewalls, must permit ICMP traffic for
client push installation to succeed."

Data Modelling Problem with many additional Fields
Dear All
I am extracting transactional data from a CRM system where a number of Customer Fields have been added.
There are some 150 additional fields which are all included in a User Append structure and are all related to the transaction ( not master data), in the CRM system only the required fields are displayed and this is dependant upon a category/sub category ( 300 combinations), which is also extracted in the transaction data. This is what I need to achieve on BW, to develop a query to only displaying the fields relevant to the current transaction and also allow the query to select on these fields, where there could be one additional field or over 10.
The datatarget for this transactional data is an ODS object
I am able to extract all the required fields but can't think of an easy way to achieve what I'm after.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
JennyHi
Currently in the ODS are two fields Category and Sub category. On the append structure applicable to the transaction data are some 150 additional fields which i have yet to determine how to handle. e.g.
ZZ_LB_FACLT1 Liibraries - Facilities
ZZ_LB_HIREQ1 Libraries - Hire Equipment
ZZ_LB_LOCATN Libraries - Location
ZZ_LB_BOOKN1 Libraries - Name Of Book
ZZ_LB_QUOTE1 Libraries - Room/Facilities Hire - Price Quoted
ZZ_APPLNUM1 Planning Application No.
ZZ_FLFLHIST1 Planning - Fulfilment - Property History
ZZ_FLFL_LET1 Planning - Fulfilment - Objection Letters
ZZ_FLFL_DSN1 Planning - Fulfilment - Decision Notice
ZZ_WS_AC Waste Management - Card Recycling - Action
ZZ_WS_AL Waste Management - Garden Waste & Card Scheme Action
ZZ_WS_CWA Waste Management - Clinical Waste - Action
ZZ_WS_BIN Waste Management - Replacement Bin
ZZ_WS_BU Waste Management - Replacment Bin - Burnt
Not all fields will be filled for each record.
For example for
Category 100 Sub Category 1, I will need to display only the fields for Libraries.
Category 200 Sub Category 2, I will need to display only the fields for Planning
Category 300 Sub Category 3, I will need to display only the fields for Waste(ZZ_WS_AC, ZZWS_CWA, ZZWS_AL)
Category 300 Sub Category 4, I will need to display only the fields for Waste (ZZ_WS_BIN, ZZWS_BU)
Hope that helps.
Thanks

Problem with BT Netprotect (and other things)
We are having problems with various things on our laptop today (Friday), including with BT Netprotect. I am wondering if it is something to do with the recent Windows security updates.
I want to run a scan with BTNP but when I double click on the red icon a blank white box appears, although according to Task Manager BTNP is running.
Does anyone have any ideas on what is happening and what I can do? Other problems today are with Google Maps, Youtube and BBC iPlayer (iPlayer tells me Javascript isn't enabled although it is).

DavidI don't know if your recent updates have caused a problem but I do know that BTNetprotect has and does cause problems on some computers. It is also a resources hog and slows your computer down. The general opinion on this forum is to uninstall it and install another antivirus such as Microsoft Security Essentials or AVG Free or Avast free.
If you do want to uninstall it follow this link. Also with regards to the specific problem you are having with it I would recommend uninstalling it fully then if you still want it on your computer, reinstall it. This usually sorts out most of its problems at least for a short while.

Make sure you follow all the guide including restarting your computer and running the McAfee removal tool. Once you have done that check to see if your other problems are still there and if so report back to the forum and we'll see if we can help. -
I am trying to implement some kind of a server listening for requests. The listener part of the app, is a daemon thread that listens for connections and instantiates a handling daemon thread once it gets some. However, my problem is that i must be able to kill the listening thread at the user's will (say via a sto button). I have done this via the Sun's proposed way, by testing a boolean flag in the loop, which is set to false when i wish to kill the thread. The problem with this thing is the following...
Once the thread starts excecuting, it will test the flag, find it true and enter the loop. At some point it will LOCK on the server socket waiting for connection. Unless some client actually connects, it will keep on listening indefinatelly whithought ever bothering to check for the flag again (no matter how many times you set the damn thing to false).
My question is this: Is there any real, non-theoretical, applied way to stop thread in java safely?
Thank you in advance,
LeftyThis was one solution from the socket programming forum, have you tried this??
public Thread MyThread extends Thread{
boolean active = true;
public void run(){
ss.setSoTimeout(90);
while (active){
try{
serverSocket = ss.accept();
catch (SocketTimeoutException ste){
// do nothing
// interrupt thread
public void deactivate(){
active = false;
// you gotta sleep for a time longer than the
// accept() timeout to make sure that timeout is finished.
try{
sleep(91);
}catch (InterruptedException ie){
interrupt();

ITunes Match problems with new PC
I have around 25,000 songs that were mostly matched, some uploaded, when I first signed up for iCloud on my previous laptop (64 bit Windows 7 Pro). My iTunes library resided on an external USB drive and iCloud/iTunes Match was mostly working, though I still had some problems with duplicate songs that I had hoped iTunes Match would be smart enough to help me eliminate (it's not). Duplicates came mostly from several earlier attempts to move and clean up my iTunes library, but that's another story...
Anyway, I got a new laptop (previous one died, hard disk failed), on which I installed iTunes, which I set up with the same external hard drive holding the iTunes library. So the music files were the same. Had to import all the songs from the hard drive which was set up to hold my iTunes Library. The trouble is, iTunes Match apparently thinks I am trying to add 25,000 more songs, when in fact they are the same songs as before. How can I tell it this? When I run iTunes match it says I already have the maximum 25,000 songs, and all the songs in iTunes show up as an error. I can't delete them from iCloud because I can't see them in iTunes! The other laptop is gone. There is apparently no independent way to access iCloud-based music except through iTunes.
I just realized that this is probably the problem: since the previous laptop hard drive died, whatever secret info Apple stores to identify it as authorized for my iTunes account was lost, and I had no chance to deauthorize it. So it thinks I am trying to match a new set of 25,000 songs (though these are almost all the same songs as before, so I would think iTunes Match could figure this out, but I guess not). I decided to deauthorize all 5 PC's on my account - but I can't do this until March 13, 2013, because I apparently did this last March, no doubt to solve another iTunes problem (seems to happen at least once a year that something in iTunes gets screwed up).
I sent Apple a request to deauthorize the dead PC (or all of them if they will), but does anyone have any alternate suggestions? I would like to be able to remove non-needed and/or duplicate songs from iCloud, and apparently the only way to do this is to delete them from iTunes (locally), in which case you are supposed to get a prompt to remove from iCloud or not. But all my songs are flagged as "error" in the iCloud status column, so I have no way to see or modify what's out there, since the associated PC is dead.
I also have most of these ~25K songs on Google Music and in Amazon Cloud. So I'm considering just dumping iCloud and using iTunes locally only (though I'm afraid if I do that it will delete all my local iTunes songs - guess I would have to reinstall from a backup in that case). When iTunes Match works, it's very nice and automatic and convenient since I listen to music on iPod Touch, iPhone, and iPad (yes, I drank Steve's Kool-ade). But as with many things Apple, when it DOESN'T work, it makes you want to slit your wrists. LOL (not).
Thanks,for any advice.
-BruceThanks bmw249. I have good news and bad news. Good news: Apple very quickly deauthorized my computers so I was able to drop the lost computer that was taking up a slot and (I suspected) confusing iTunes Match.
The bad news is that this didn't make any difference. Nearly all the songs in my iTunes library have an iCloud status of "error" and when I turn on iTunes Match, it churns for a while before telling me that I already have 25,000 songs in the cloud and can't add any more. What I expected is for it to recognize that most of the 25K songs are the very same ones sitting in this local iTunes library. It should be substantially fewer than 25K because I also deleted 1000+ classical music pieces that I have sitting in Amazon Cloud, in hopes of freeing up space for my recently purchased and created music to be uploaded to iCloud. But no dice.
I am now downloading ~800 songs that iTunes thinks I have only on iCloud. I then plan to figure out how to deactivate iCloud and iTunes Match on this PC so that nothing will be deleted locally when I cancel my iCloud account (it runs out in March 2013 but I assume I can cancel and deactivate the account sooner). The "convenience" of this service isn't worth the many dozens of hours of hours I have spent trying to get it to work the way Apple says it works. Amazon Cloud (also costing ~$25 a year) has a limit of something like 20 GB and no specific limit on number of songs. I buy most music there anyway and have already uploaded most of the rest, so this makes the most sense. I really like the way iTunes Match can (in theory) keep all my music sync'd and smoothly stream to my iPhone even over 3G. Amazon Cloud takes a bit more effort but does much the same thing.
Thanks for listening. I'm assuming this is a "moderated" forum and that this post will soon be removed for my Amazon comments.
