Problems with Mavericks & Logic Pro

Hi there,
Since upgrading to Mavericks I keep getting a very slow response when working in Logic Pro.
Its not that it crashes but it keeps freezing for around 15 seconds when i'm trying to do stuff which as i'm sure you can imagine interrupts work flow massively.
For instane I may have  a looped section playing then when I try to open inserts or a send nothing happens, it just keeps playing the looped section then all of a sudden it tries to catch up.
Hugely frustrating and only seems to have happened since I upgraded to Mavericks. Is it worth going back to Snow Leopard/Mountain Lion?
I'm currently working on a remix and its taking ages to get the simplest of tasks done.
I have looked around and only found one other person who is experiencing teh exact same scenario but not had a reply...all my colleagues who use Logic have said they have not upgraded to Maverick and everything is running fine.
Is this some annoying bug that needs fixing???
I'm running an i-Mac 2.8

Hi there,
Thanks for getting back to me.
To be honest I think I am going to do backup, erase then reinstall with Mountain Lion as Mavericks has been nothing but bother...have managed to speak to quite a few otehrs since yesterday who run Logic and it looks like a really big issue with Logic & Mavericks.
Bit of a stinker really!
