Problems with Microsoft Office Outlook Web Access and any web browser

My university e-mail goes through Microsoft Office Outlook and I access it through the Web Access.
I have tried with 3 browsers (Chromium, Firefox and Gnome's Web, and with all of them I am getting the same problems.
Basically, once I log in, the css seems to be screwed sometimes (not always). I click in a e-mail to read it, and it does nothing (not always), I write an e-mail, click send, and it gives me a white screen error (not always), and then it is not even saved as draft.
I have this errors like 70% of the time, or more, which means that every time I want just to read an e-mail, I spend 5 minutes reloading the website, singing out, clearing cookies,... until eventually all seems to load correctly.
No idea how I can fix this, or how I can get this to work.
thank you!

The light version is set by default, and I cannot choose the non-light.
I assume it makes some kind of "webbrower check id", and mine sends whatever linux like id, which the server doesn't recognize, and it screwes me

  • Problems with Microsoft Office

I really don't know where to post this as I can't find a Discussion forum for it, please re direct me if this is....
So I'm having a HUGE problem with Microsoft Office. I've had the Student addition, purchased it in a store, and have been using it since without any issues. Just yesterday, it told me I needed to download an update for it in the System Update. Well it downloaded without a problem, however during the installation it stalled and never completed. When I turned my computer back on, and did the System Update again, it said that my system was completely up to date. However, now the only too things in my Microsoft Office folder is PowerPoint and Excel. The other applications can not be located anywhere on my computer.
Now is there a way for me to fix this. I no longer have the CD with Microsoft Office on it because I'm constantly traveling. I'm extremely annoyed because I rely on Entourage for my emails, don't really like the Mail application. I just want to know what to do. Any suggestions?
    Thank you.

When an installer 'stalls' during the installation, I'd guess you'd need to try reinstalling from the CD. I could be wrong though. Here is another forum that may help you if you don't get the answer here...

  • Problem with Microsoft office since new firefox installation

I have never had a problem with Microsoft Office --ever. I can have 4+ windows open at once. Since installation the latest version of Firefox many things have changed. The most troublesome is that I cannot open any office programs (word, excel, etc). They try to open and then give me an error message.

    Victorymarketin, welcome to the forum.

I recently upgraded to Lion, and immediately started having consistent problems with Open Office 12 (would hang, and need a Force quit to recover). Has anybody else seen these problems? Any solutions other than going back to Snow Leopard? (I did). But I'd like to use iCloud with iPad.

Hi Pete. The repair of disk permissions can help resolve  any application crashing or misbehaving.
As for Lion and the two camps, I think that is a reasonable observation. In my office we have about a dozen Mac's and about one third of those Mac's had problems after updating from 10.6 to 10.7. The main problem for these Mac's was a loss of wifi stability. But for the other two-thirds, Lion was a smooth transition.
Personally, my Lion experience was fine. But I did get a new i7 MacBook Pro with Lion already installed and only had to migrate my user data from a 10.6.8 TM backup.
So I think that is a key for Lion's operational success. A clean install of Lion on a new Mac would not cause too many operational issues. But an installation, or more correctly, an update to Lion from SL increased the chances of failure for some users - especially when old software & plugins resided on the Mac. And I would say that they were the people that you saw at the Apple store.
As for the "latest release of Lion fixed my problems" statement, my experience with these and other forums is that people mostly only go there to complain about the problems they are having. If they are having no problems then they either keep it to themselves or they try to help the users who are experiencing trouble...

  • Problems with Microsoft Office 2008 and 2011

    Hiya,
I am running Mountain Lion on my Macbook Pro and I'm having ongoing problems with the Office system. I'm doing a PhD so I use footnotes all the time and in Word 2011, the autosave function makes the footnotes disappear from the bottom of the page, but I'm not comfortbale working wihtout autosave running. I deleted Office 2011 and put Office 2008 back on my machine. However, since I re-installed Office 2008, the whole OSX seems to have slowed down.
Could Office 2008 cause my whole system to get sluggish? Is there anything that I can do about it?
I am also wondering if there is there another solution to my original Office 2011 problem with footnotes that doesn;t involve disabling autosave? Has anyone else has similar problems with footnotes? I just wiped my whole system and re-installed all the programmes, so I am surprised to still be having these same problems with Office!
Thank you for any help and advice!

  • Problems with Microsoft Office 2010

    To whom it may concern:
I work in a school and we use Microsoft office 2010 here. Earlier this week (2) computers seemed to develop the same problem.
All of a sudden the entire Microsoft Office Suite seems to be taking a very very long time to open anything. For example trying to open a word document stored locally on the machine seems to take a while.
And, when using Outlook it seems that opening an attachment (word, excel, etc) seems to take forever. When you give a double click to the attachment, this red bar seems to start running across the top of the pane and it takes on average 1 minute to open
the attachment. This did not happen before and I am wondering if a recent update has anything to do with this issue.
    Please advise.
    Mark

    Hi
For your issue, we recommend you start Office in safe mode to check the issue:

  • Snow Leopard Problems with Microsoft Office 2004

I installed Snow Leopard about two months ago. Ever since I have nad problems opening Microsoft Worrd 2004. Every time I try to open Word it hangs up at "Optimizing font menu performance..." Before I installed Snow Leopard I had no problems with any Office 2004 applications. I also have a lot of problems with fonts when I open Safari.

This message occurs whenever your installed fonts change. I work for a publisher so was getting it all the time as I turned fonts on and off for different projects.
    In Office 2004, do this:
    1. Go to */Applications/Microsoft Office 2004/Office/Support Files/*
    2. Rename or move FontCacheTool. (Requires administrator access)
    In Office 2011, do this:
    1. Go to *~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Office 2011/*
    2. Delete *Office Font Cache*
    3. From Terminal, type touch" then drag in the Office 2011 folder
    4. Back in the Finder, do Get Info on the new, empty *Office Font Cache* file. Make it read only and lock it.
    Notes:
    1. WYSIWYG menus will now just show the font name in standard font.
    2. You may be able to disable the 'optimising' message more easily by going to Word's preferences and turning off the 'WYSIWYG font and style menus' tick box in the General section. This takes affect in all Office applications but doesn't seem as reliable at preventing the caching problem.
    4. Newly added fonts should still appear when you next start an Office application.
    3. However you have Office set up, it can't see certain fonts. They are the ones logged to Console, e.g.:
12/04/2011 09:58:14 /System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/Frameworks/ATS.framewo rk/Support/fontd[21782] ATS Font family could not be created for Abaton ITC Std - Legacy Applications may not see this font

  • If I change from snow lepard to lion - will I have problems with microsoft office?

I want to chang from snow lepard to lion. Will I have problems with my installed microsoft office?

not unless it is a version '04 or earlier.  If it is, it won't work in Lion.  '08 and '11 work fine.

Hi I am new to this discussion stuff, but I seem to have got a problem with updating my Office 08 to the 12.1.0 version on my Macbook. The problem is that it starts the installation process, but then stops right at the start and never does anything. Hope someone can help me with this.

    pancenter-
Agreed. Both Microsoft and Apple are great at customer service. It's the thing that drives customers back to their company for the products and/or services they provide to the customer.
I've had a Windows Server 2008 product activation issue, they quickly resolved it. Same with Apple with my old defective Macbook. Both companies did an excellent job at doing that. However, I won't give kudos to Microsoft's XBOX tech support team. Sometimes they don't know crap about what they are doing.

  • Problems with Microsoft office after system problems with 10.3.9

I had some problems with my G5, it lost the memory for the dock etc but I have been able to fix that but now none of the programs in the Office package are working and there is also problems with Illustrator CS2 they all crash at startup, I have tried to re-install the programs but the problem is still there. Knowing how Os 9 and earlier worked I know that it was possible to trash the prefs file for the program and it would usually solve the problem. Is there something similar I can do here without loosing my mails in entourage etc.?

Have you tried repairing permissions? Go to macupdate.com and download a free program called Onyx. Run the automate tab options.
I would also download and run the 10.3.9 combo updater from Apple. That tends to fix things as well.

  • After migration to new iMac - problems with Microsoft office 2008 using multiple users

I migrated my data from my old Imac to my new Imac.  On the new Imac I created multiple logins for my kids.  My microsoft office 2008 programs will not open.  I keep getting the "Customer Experience Improvement Program" screen which cycles through, checks for update then closes never allowowing me to access the program.  Please help!!

Reference your first post - I download and use dmg files, so either I'm lucky or they are supported.
I would try the disk reinstall since at this point there doesn't seem to be many options.
Do you have a backup? You could restore the Microsoft Office 2008 folder.

  • Problems with Microsoft Office for Mac 2008

    Hi,
I replaced my old mac around two months ago so I now own a Macbook Pro with Lion. Since then, whenever I open Microsoft Word, or a previously saved document, it also opens other documents I've saved since I bought the laptop. However, this does not include the documents I managed to retrieve from my previous Mac.
Is anyone aware of a way to prevent this happening?
    Thank you

I'm sorry, but I have the same problem and neither the article indicated or using First Aid on the keychains have fixed it - problems occurred after installing Office 2008. What else can I try?

  • IPod Touch sync problem with MS Office Outlook Contacts

Having successfully syncd complete MS Ofice Outlook Contacts to my new IPod Touch, I am finding that subsequent changes to both IPod and Outlook Contacts are not sycning. On the other hand Calendar is working perfectly!

Not sure if I need to post my question as a separate entry, but let me first try here since this topic came up.
I have set up iTune to sync my Outlook calendar and contacts, with "replace items on iPod with Outlook" option checked. When I connect my iPod, the status bar says it is syncing with Calendar and Contacts. But nothing is changed if I open my contacts/calendar on my iPod. Any idea?
