Problems with Mini--continued reboot after update

I recently was given a Mini to play with. I was having some issues with it when I first received it. I read some forum posts and some other non-apple related help files on the internet. I finally got the Mini to work correctly, at least I was able to get to the menu screen and get the Mini recognized by my computer. When iTunes recognized my new ipod I was told to update the software, I did. The update that was "needed" was 1.4.1. I went ahead and downloaded this update. I was then told to plug the Mini into the wall outlet to make the update complete. I did this as well. I left the Mini plugged into the wall, using the Apple AC adapter and the provided USB connector. The Mini flashed the apple icon then the "plug into the wall" icon. I left the Mini plugged in overnight, I had no idea how long it would take to finish the update. The next day I tried to plug the Mini into my computer and I got a message telling me that my ipod might be corrupt and I should reset the ipod back to original settings. I tried that.
Now, as I type this, I have the same Mini plugged into my computer and it does not register as a USB device on my computer and itunes does not even recognize that it is connected. The Mini seems to be caught in some kind of rebooting loop. The screen continually reboots, going from the apple icon to the "plug in" icon. I don't know what else to try, besides throwing the ipod away.
I would really like some help with this problem. I have tried the 5Rs and I have gotten nowhere. I will gladly take any suggestion that can be made.
I am running a Dell Inspiron with Windows Vista Basic, if that helps. Thank you for any help.

I have followed your intruction and it does not correct the problem. Diskmode does not appear. The ipod is completely locked out. The apple symbol appears, followed by the plug-in picture and that is all.
This is a result of an update to version 1.4.1 via iTunes. Surely Apple have to provide a fix for this error as it was no fault of anyone elses that these ipods are now rendered useless.
To make matters worse, I have all my uni assessment information on the ipod, which is my sister's, and I can no longer access it. My assessment is in 2 days.
If I have to get the ipod "repaired" due to an apple update then that is plain ridiculous. To cost me money for repair due to an update provided by apple? That's insane. Apple should take responsibility for the problems this update has caused and provide a fix.

    Additional things to try.
    Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

    Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

    Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

    I am using a Vista PC with iTunes10.5. After updating my 3gs to iOS 5.0 I am not able to sync the phone. iTunes recognizes my iphone and then stays syncing at the backup stage....I deleted all my apps on the phone and deleted previous backups and tried syncing again, but in vain. I am clueless....

    I just plugged it into my netbook and its Restoring it on there so thanks, I know I will lose what I never had backed up but just be happy if it works. Fingers crossed this fixes it.
    Edit: It didnt work, come up with iTunes isnt connected to the internet then the restore fails

      I updated Nokia E-mail to ver 3.9 on E72. Now I am facing  a problem with mail for exchange. I have configured gmail on mail for exchange. I recieve a warning that "unable to sync contact administrator if problem persist". It started to pop up just after the update was over and is very frustrating. Even previously i used to recieve mails instantly but now it generally takes half an hour for me to recieve them. I deleted and created mail for exchange several times but to no avail.
    Also i am not able to automatically recieve mails other emails which i have configured. every time I have to manually download them everytime.
    Can anybody suggest a way out.

    It could be a problem if you're using your network's connections...
    I was on a Pay & Go tariff with o2 some time ago, and needed secure connections for various things, o2 told me they didn't provide secure connections on Pay & Go tariffs...
    Could be worth checking with them to make sure it's supported.

    I have an old mac which will not allow me to update itunes to 10.x. So I have been updating my iphone via another computer (which apple support to itunes 10.x) and my old mac has been able to see it still and therefore I have been able to backup/update it.
    However after updating to ios 4.2, my old mac has not been able to sync to it and itunes tell me that I have to update to itunes 10.1 (which I cannot).
    Last time I updated, I had to restore my iphone due to various problems (mainly to do with itunes 9.2 allowing me to download the unsupported ios 4.1). I didn't have to restore this time and this maybe what has caused me the problems. Does anyone know whether I can solve my problem of syncing to itunes 9.2 by restoring my iphone and reinstalling ios4.2? Or is ios 4.2 not supported by itunes 9.2 at all and now I need a new computer?

    Yes, I had the same problem this time and had email communication with Apple about it when ios 4.1 came out. Apple have made it so 10.4.11 is not supported by itunes 10.1, and so stuck with itunes 9.2.1.
    When I had this problem, I decided to update on another computer (as I did this last time). But I didn't have the same problems as before (requiring a restore of my iphone) which I suspect solved the problem I have now.
    However, if the restore doesn't solve this, then I have an iphone without any music on it! Or any of the apps as well.

    For Nvidia users, there is a driver update that will fix both of the following issues:
    Premiere Elements 8 does not restart after closing on Windows
    Frequent and inexplicable crashes with Premiere Elements 8
    To resolve these issues, you should update your GPU (graphics card) driver to version 195.81 or higher, by following the steps below.
    1.      Identify which GPU driver you have by right clicking on the Desktop > Properties > Settings and in the Display field it will be displayed.
    2.      Go to http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us and download driver for your GPU card. Its size varies from 80 to 120MB depending upon the GPU card model.
    3.      After the download is complete, run the driver install Installation. This should take less than 2 minutes.
    There are no known issues that the latest driver update will cause.

    Up here I copied and posted my PC's spec's.  Since upgrading to the new driver, my problems increased.  I seem to experience more crashes than before.  Happens randomly and I can not see a pattern.   (I have noticed dragging clips from one area to another on the time line is no-no)

    since my update to 10.7.4 on my MacBook Air I have a problem with the secondary click. I configured it to "click on right side", but some times and espacially after wake-up my MBA the secondary click is not working. So I have to switch to the System Preferences and remove the hook at secondary click and set it again. Than everything is working again.
    Has some one the same problem or even know how to solve this?

    I have had the issue with a Snow Leopard but never with Lion.
    Can you go to System Preferences>Displays>Color and select your profile.
    I had made 3 profiles and they are all still there and my iMac is still using the same one I previously selected

    Although this reply is late.  I just want to share that I have the same issue - no LTE after upgrade to 8.1.3 on my iPhone 5.  No matter switch on/off iPhone or LTE option or Airplane Mode -  they all didn't work....but after an upgrade to 8.2 today.  I got my LTE back now after a month...not sure if it is a bug or a reset work.  Good luck to anyone who looking for the resolution of same issue.

    Me, again. A couple of weeks ago (around Christmas) my wifi stopped working and the toggle switch greyed out again. I found a solution guide from Apple, followed all the steps (which ultimately included a complete factory reset). I was able to back up all my info before hand with iTunes. I ran my phone as a new device, and the problem was still there. The wifi wouldn't work at all and the toggle on/off switch was greyed out. Finally I gave up and tried Apple support. I chatted with a rep, told them everything I saw and tried, and within 10 minutes they determined that I needed my phone replaced (my phone was new in April 2012). All I had to do was go down to the store, tell the rep there exactly what I told the one on the phone, and within 15 minutes I had a brand new phone FREE. I brought it home, plugged it in, and restored all my info (including passwords, wallpaper, app settings, EVERYTHING!!) as if I never had a problem. My wifi has been impeccable on the new phone. I still haven't determined whether it was the 1 year warranty or the Apple Care replacement plan that covered it, but either way, totally worth the trouble.

    I'm quite glad overall of updating my N95 to v20, but I've noticed a quite big bug in the new version.
    When using the Internet Telephony client I can make SIP calls with no problem BUT if I receive a SIP call from a client with enabled video the phone hangs completely (I have to remove battery, no workaround).
    This didn't happen with v12.
    This is very annoying, because since I have no control over the settings of the softphones used by the people that call me, having my phone registered to Internet Telephony service offers a great risk of leaving me aout of service.
    Is there any solution to this?

    I am experiencing a similar issue after updating my iPad2 to iOS5.   After the initial download/sync many albums were missing artwork and several dozen songs were greyed out and unplayable on the iPad (and an iPhone G3S with iOS5).  However, upon resyncing a second time, most restored to normal cover art and function.  HOWEVER, it remain weird in that when looking at Album view on the Music app all the artwork is present on the iPad, but it appears blank on Artist view for many artists.  EXCEPT if I enter the list of Songs for a given artist the cover art reappears.   This is clearly a glitch in how different views within Music are storing and displaying the artwork, as it is clearly there but not being proprely displayed.   I am thinking about resyncing again, but hope Apple addresses this soon.

    After updating to Android Lolipop three days ago, on my phone occured some problems. 
    1. The hearing while calling/receiving a call is very low, when the volume is on max. It was extremly high on max volume before the update. 
    2. Now when I'm using the camera most of the pictures are captured with low quality and not well focused. Around one out of four pictures comes out with good quality and well focused. But I reviewed the settings and tried do switch them all the ways around but the problem still occurs. 
    Any help will be appreciated! Hopefully the next update will fix these issues.

    The Chinese K920 version is meant to be sold and used only in China with a certain local carrier/provider(That's why it's got the ''China Mobile'' logo on the back).The main difference between the Chinese and the international K920 version is the GSM receiver(hardware difference)....
    .....It seams there is a partial workaround(To make the Chinese version more ''internationally 3G/4G friendly'') but my experience with the Chinese K920 is limited and in this case it would be better to ask the actual users->

  • Problem with printing and scanning after updating to Mavericks for my Photosmart C7180

    After updating my macbook pro (mid 2009) to Mavericks, I have found that I can only scan to a jpeg2000 and cannot scan as a tiff or jpeg or anyother format.  I have followed instructions on troubleshooting and have not been able to make anything work ie scanning from preview etc.  I have now uninstalled all the HP software and tried to load it again but software update will not recognise that I do not have the software for my printer.  What do I do now?

    I understand you're having issues with scanning since you upgraded to Mavericks. I have looked into this concern for you and found that there is no downloadable driver with the full feature software (scanning software) included for the Photosmart C7180 and Mavericks.
    However, there are work around options for scanning that may help and work!

    Try some basic troubleshooting:
    (A) Try reset iPad
    Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    (B) Try reset all settings
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
    (C) Setup as new (data will be lost if you do not have backup)
    Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings
