Problems with Monitor

Have just brought a new computer running windows 8.1 but kept my original Monitor which is HPw1907 originall brought in 1907.Some game will not run on the full screen, either the mouse pointer is very unsteady or the screen just goes white. Sats the resolution is wrong but it is set to the reccomended level.Do you have any suggestions on how I can correct this. Thanks

Problems with Monitor after Hard Drive Replacement

I never had any problems with my iBook G4 until the past 6 months. I sent it in once because it wouldn't start up. They were able to fix the problem without replacing the hard drive. It malfunctioned again and the second time they had to replace the hard drive. I've had it back for about a month and 1/2 now and for the past three weeks, whenever I try to use it I get problems with my monitor. I'm not sure if the video card is going out or what? The image on the screen gets chopped up in horizontal and vertical line increments. Its really hard to explain but sometimes it comes in waves and I have to shut down my computer and walk away from it. Other times like right now, I'm able to use it for up to an hour but then it gets choppy again and I can't use it. My Apple Care Protection Plan expires in December and I want to get as much from it as I possibly can before I have to replace the laptop altogether.

to clarify, "internal or external;" display
internal = ibook display
external = display connected via display adaptor
Ok, well I max out the graphics on my ibook on regular intervals (games, high-end graphics work, gigabyte photoshop files etc...)
It isn't likely to be the hardware, so here's some suggestions.
LOOSE WIRES/CABLES:
The ibook's internal monitor connects through the central pivot where the ibook opens, the wires in here may be damaged. (you can't fix this yourself, refer it to apple) this could pertain to a loose or defective cable is you are using and apple display connector also.
REFRESH RATE: (this sound like your problem)
to quote a source:
"If the refresh rate is not properly set the monitor may have a wavy or an appearance that lines are going down or across the monitor slowly or fast. This may also cause a flickering affect."

This is set in display preferences. try setting your monitor's refresh rate. (75hz is good)
INTERFERANCE:
Monitors are succeptible to electromagnetic interferance: Speakers, hard drives, phones etc. try moving them away from the monitor.
BAD MONITOR:
finally; and we hope this isn't the problem. if you are not already doing so, connect an external monitor to the ibook using the display connector (VGA only), if the issue persists with the external monitor the problem is software based, if not you probably have once of a small percentage of monitors that just goes "bad" after a time period, unfortunately it's often cheaper to replace an entire unit as opposed to the screen itself (new computer)

Problems with monitor -slowing down MAC

Hello, I have a late 2013 MacBook Pro (OS X 10.9.5) and am trying to connect it to a Hanns.G HL 193 monitor. I already have the apple miniport to connect with the VGA monitor cable. However, when I plug it in, the mac becomes veeeery slow (the arrow won't even move correctly) and the monitor just won't light up. The monitor works fine with PCs. The Macbook seems to recognize it, as I can see it in the "displays" option, but it just wont allow me to make it work. What are the exact steps i need to take to make this monitor work? Could it be a problem with the model?

Web AS 6.40 Sneak Preview: Problems with monitoring Database with SQL Studi

Hello!
I'm new with SAP and SAP Web AS, and I installed the SAP Web AS 6.40 Sneak Preview recently. I'm exercizing with the tutorials, and in the Tutorial "Car rental Application", a "QCR_RESERVATION" database is created and deployed.
The deployment worked fine, but I'm having problems accessing the SAP DB with SQL Studio.
At first, I didn't find SQL studio in my SAP installation, so I installed it afterwards. I now tried to log on with the data mentioned in the tutorial (localhost, C11, SAPC11DB and "sap"), and got the error "Database not running (-709)". Looking at the SAP Management Console, I found a database with the name "J2E", so I tried this one.
But now the problem is, that with user SAPJ2EDB and password "sap", I get the error "(-4008) Unknown username and password", and the same error with the combination "control", "control".
What is my mistake? Could anybody give me a hint? Maybe there is something wrong with my Web AS 6.40 Sneak Preview Installation? I don't remember having changed any settings during installation ...

But nevertheless, I'm still looking for the right password for the database user "SAPJ2EDB".
As I'm encountering problems with the "Quick Car Reservation" tutorial (the entity bean seems unable to access the database, too), I'd like to check the QCR_RESERVATION database with my SQL Studio. Maybe there's something wrong with it.

Hello,
I would suggest to download MS NET 2.0, then catch the program System Updater form Lenovo Homepage.
Run it and see which updates the programm is offerering to you.
You choose by yourself, which one do you want to install.
Please read the installation instructions carefully.

Problems with monitor ho pavilion 22xi

When I connect the HDMI cable between playstation3 and monitor, the monitor recognizes the source but no longer returns any remaining image in black screen. the problem is neither the cable nor the playstation because I tested it with another monitor and work. I await your response. thank you

I understand that your HP Pavilion 22xi Monitor is detecting your PS3, but not displaying anything. I suspect an issue with the display resolution coming from your PS3. I am providing you with some steps you can try below:
Step 1. Unplug the power cord from the back of the monitor and the wall
Step 2. Hold the power button down for at least one minute
Step 3. Plug the power cord back into the monitor and then into the wall outlet (not a power bar or surge protector)
Step 4. Press the Menu button on the monitor
Step 5. Navigate to the Factory Reset option and select it
If the above steps did not resolve your issue you can try the monitor on a computer or other device to see if the issue persists. If it does I think it would be best if you contact HP Technical Support for repair options. If it does not however I recommend you try the PS3 Knowledge Center post Change PS3 Video Settings.

Problems with monitor/resolution after software update

I installed the latest security update tonight, and now my monitor no longer properly works with my mini. I have a Dell 2005FPW. I was using 1680x1050 resolution with no problems. When I rebooted after the update, I noticed my resolution had been changed... and now the mac only detects my display as a "VGA display" and I can't select that resolution any more! The monitor still works fine with my PC.
How can I get my 1680x1050 back??

Do you have a KVM switch to share your monitor between your Mac and your PC? I was getting this problem when I got one of these so my new Mac could share my monitor etc with my old one but found a way round it. In System Preferences -> Displays, tick the 'Show displays in menu bar' box. Then click on 'Detect displays' from the drop down menu. The screen will go blue for a moment and the computer will recognise the monitor for what it is.

Problem with monitoring

I have a problem when i monitor thru my BlackMagic Design Decklink to my video monitor. I see my 16/9 anamorphic image in letterbox. I have to zoom in my image in my monitor settings to see it in full frame. When i'm in FCP, the monitoring thru the same card is right. The problem is only in Color. Anybody can help me?

Final cut sequence settings : PAL 720 * 576
BlackMagic settings in final cut : PAL 10 bit 720*576
Color dispaly settings : Video output PAL 10 bit
Type of monitor : PAL TV connected via composite cable
Like i said with that setup, everything's OK in FCP, not good in Color. Also, it worked OK with Color for 2 years before that.
I just found a workaround!! I set the Color video output to HD 1080i and in the preference of the BlackMagic i use the process "HD to SD anamorphic" and then it works OK. It's weird of having to do this but that works.

Hello there. Only just upgraded to OS 10.1.3. Having trouble with my monitor. Its on 600 x 300 and I cant open the display settings to adjust the resolution. Can anyone help!?

I suddenly have another problem. I reinstalled OS10.1.3 just before we did the monitor swap to see if it would make a difference, it didnt, so we tried the monitor swap, now it works fine. Went to updater and updated to OS10.1.5 and a few other things, now when I try to update it cant seem to find the internet! It tells me to 'check configuration'
I can go on the internet in Internet explorer no problems so I downloaded MSN messenger. But for some reason, that cant find the internet to connect me! I presume the two things are from the same fault. If its not one thing its another! Any ideas about this one?

Problem with monitor a job

Hi all,
I am running a job which loads data from one DSO to another DSO . The update rules have a start routine which extract data from APO livecache using 2 -3 functional modules for some characteristics of the target DSO .
Earlier this load was taking 1.5 hours to finish but now its just taking more than 4 hours and this job is occupying all system resources and so other jobs are kept in hanged state.
I want to know :
1> How can i monitor the jobs ? i mean how to monitor the jobu2019s system resource utilization (number of processors) ?
2> How can i reduce the time of load ?

With job monitoring, you can monitor individual jobs in the Alert Monitor with regard to status and runtime. This is an important extension of the monitoring of the background runtime environment (see Background Processing Monitor), in which the general status of the SAP background processing is monitored (for example, with regard to utilization or job terminations).
The job monitoring is used to monitor jobs that run regularly, that are always scheduled using a particular name or name pattern (such as a fixed job name with a timestamp). A job of this type is called a job chain.

If your Data load are independent with each other you can schedule in Parallel and this will reduce your data load time with comparison to series load. PowerPC G5, NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200, problems with monitor

I have 1.6GHz PowerPC G5 (M9020LL/A) with NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 & HP LP1965 monitor. Monitor does not wake up after going to sleep using system preferences or being turned off using the button. All I get is light blue screen changing to black and so on and on. Anyone? Thx a lot!

Thx for tips. Booting OK in Safe, reaching Desktop.
1. While in Safe, if both G5 & HP are on "never turn off" I get some dark grey screen after couple of minutes and I can "wake" G5 with mouse/keyboard. If I turn off HP on a button, nothing helps.
2. Still in Safe: as soon as I set G5 to sleep after x mins an HP loses signal, nothing helps. I can wake G5 from keyboard, coming to light blue pic and thats it.
3. Rebooting - nothing helps. As soon as I cut the power to monitor or it goes to sleep, same thing happens. Black screen turning to light blue and so on. I have tried to press Power on G5, put it to sleep, than wake it by pressing Power again. I am stuck on a light blue screen for a minute, then all of a sudden I get the signal back.
Only thing that "works" is to have Screen saver on x mins and Monitor on "Never".

Major Problems With Monitor, Upgrade, Etc.

I have a beige G3, OS 9.1, with Needed Data. External Monitor went out and is gone. I'm willing to upgrade to a new Mac, but (a) I can't see anything without a monitor; (b) even if I upgrade, I don't know how I'll transfer files to a new Mac. I don't have a writable CD or DVD Drive. What can I do? - Ttommy

I don't know where you live but in just about any city people are giving away monitors that would work with that computer. It's the tube kind and nobody wants them anymore. In other words, you should be able to get one for free or for just a couple of bucks. Check Craigslist free section if there one for your area. (Edit: I forgot, I had a VGA card in mine so I could easily take any PC hand-me-down monitor. You'd need a VGA-DB25pin converter which nobody wants anymore but would cost a lot to buy and might not be so easy to find. Maybe there's a Mac user group near you.)
The guy in the store had the same idea I had. Put it in an enclosure. The thing is, if it is SCSI then it is not very likely they will have an enclosure. Even I don't have a SCSI enclosure anymore! Could be pleasantly surprised though, but they are more likely to be the surprised ones if it is.
You can check if the drive is SCSI using the cabling, or if you can look at the labels. I think by that era they were mostly IDE but I know they could also hold SCSI and I had a mix in mine.

Problems with monitors and macpro

My macpro will not recognize a second monitor. I have the Lacie 22Blue III and the Eizo 240W. When I have both of them hhoked up, it will not let me adjust the resolution on the Eizo. If I switch ports, it will only recognize the Eizo and not the Lacie.
I first tried to hook up a Lacie 22 Blue IV....but it would not recognize it at all even though that monitor works fine on my G5.

Your "Mac Pro" is a notebook, forum here Mac Pro is a 65 lb tower.
I'd suggest that the forums for Mac OS and even Safari
I'd also clear the history and cache in Safari and restart.

It sounds like you installed a piece of junk. Adware-malware someone wants to force you to their site. MacKeeper?
Do you have a system backup? you might want to.
If you have MacKeeper that causes lots of trouble and uninstalling is both essential and not always 100% it seems. And it will cause your Mac to run slow like this, making it seem like you "need" it or to "clean your mac" which are all just POS junk.

Need help with a simple problem with monitors

I used a power g4 and I want to use two monitors for final cut. I have the apple monitor 4:3 and I got a new 22inch 16:9 monitor. I want to use them both for final cut. I want to use 4:3 for bins. When i hook them up the 4:3 has the time lines and canvas. How do i make the 16:9 the time line and the 4:3 flat screen the bins. I need to reverse how they are. Someone help please
