Problems with my Audigy X-FI Platimun

Recently I bought the Audigy X-FI Platinum for my pc, replacing my old good Audigy Platinum.
These are my rig specs:
Asus A8N SLI Premium
AMD 64 3800 X2 Processor
ASUS GT6600 vcard
80 GB SATA Drive
60 GB SATA Drive
OS: Windows XP Professional SP 2 32Bit
Desktop Theater 5.1 DTT2200 Speakers.
The problem is that when I am viewing a DVD, playing any game or just listening mp3 the audio just go. I have to "play" a little with the cables that connect my speakers to the audiocard in order to get sound again. But when I hooked the speakers with my Audigy Platinum again I do not experience any kind of problem.
Any help would be appreciated!

No modified .inf file will enable the DTS or Dolby tabs in the Dell OEM XremeMusic. No hacked drivers will do either (maybe in the future).
I have the same card, and I've experimented a bit with it (I bought it to use it rather than to spend my time trying to enable functionalities that I actually don't miss), with the help of some "experts".
The only way to enable those functions involve component soldering/de-soldering on the PCB and firmware flashing.
This is not big issue as there's no warranty to void. Creative won't support this card, neither will Dell unless it was shipped as part of/upgrade of one of their systems.
But if you don't have the relevant skills and tools, unless you want to start hard-modding as a hobby, is just not worth it.
BTW, in my case the total cost was $9.00 deli'vered, so... what can I say? :P
Edit: I just saw in your screenshot the shortcut to "Owner's Manual" so I guess yours is a Dell system. Forget about hard-modding if you don't want to void your warranty big time.
And don't bother downloading the retail CD either. Save the bandwith for something else. There's a hack to install the applications of the retail CD on OEM cards, but it will make no difference whatsoever. It won't enable any extra functions on the card.
You can pick up the phone and complain to Dell if they didn't tell you about this "little" issue though. I have never bought a Dell desktop, so I can't really tell if they warn the customers about the card being OEM and limited in functionalities or not.Message Edited by MrToad on 08-23-2006 05:32 PM

  • Weird problem With my Audigy 4

Hi all, I have a weird problem with my audigy 4. When I install the Nvidia IDE and Sata driver for my motherboard, I get sound problem in BF2, It glitches, I don't here my gun, well it's all ****ed up. Does anyone know why? Thanks in advance.

I have had every iphone model ever made. I have never had a problem like this before. It appears that there are small spots all over the screen. Not to be confused with the "yellow spots" other iphone 4 user have been reporting due to the glue not drying before they reached the customer. This is a different type of spot. I would compare it to a petrie dish that scientist test for things in.
The only thing I can think of is something is happening with the coating over the glass (oleophobic coating maybe braking down?). It only happened on the front screen and not the back glass. You can get the spots to go away when you use a micro fiber cloth to remove the natural oil from your face against the phone. The minute you start using the phone again, they appear. They are kinda annoying and make your phone screen look dirty and have a weird glare in it when your in the sun.
I made an appointment tomorrow to go to the apple store to see what they can tell me. Hope fully its nothing major. The worst thing that could happen is the phone gets replaces by another. Ill keep everyone update.

  • Problem with microphone, Audigy 2, and a Dell (not the same problem as the 8 million other topi

Hello,?I recently reformatted my hard dri've and had to reinstall drivers for nearly everything, etc. I have a Dell Dimension 4600, and an Audigy 2 sound card. My microphone worked fine before the reformat and then it was broken. Its not that it wasn't picking up my voice (I have read that the typical problem with Dell computers and microphones was that you had to almost scream into the microphone to get it to hear anything). When I tried to record something, it would record what was coming out of my speakers, and not what I was saying (no matter how hard I yelled). So, when I was playing Counterstrike, everybody heard my gun shooting and grenades exploding etc. instead of my voice (which was what was coming out of my headphones). So I downloaded the ISO available here and through some complicated, random process of uninstalling and reinstalling the various sound drivers I found on the internet, I managed to get my microphone to work perfectly. I changed some settings before I went to bed on Sunday night, and when I tried to use my microphone on Monday it didn't work again (and I had the same problem as before).
So I reformatted again and am trying to figure out what order I installed and uninstalled etc.
So my question is, has anyone else has this specific problem (when attempting to record it records what comes out of the speakers/headphones and not what is being said into the microphone) and remembers how to fix it's? What I did was really bizarre, something like downloading Dell drivers, installing them, uninstalling them, downloading Creative drivers, installing them, installing Dell drivers on top of them, uninstalling both, downloading the ISO, reinstall the Creative drivers, install the files from the ISO, or something like that. Obviously that includes a lot more steps than are needed and because part 3 of the ISO is currently down (I don't have a CD burner so had to redownload the whole thing (I just used a CD emulator last time)) I can't work on it right now :/

Actually, it's not a problem but a setting. On surround mixer .rec source setting --> when you set it to What U Hear everything you hear becomes recorded --> for microphone recording set it to microphone (also set "monitoring while recording" on/off).

  • Problems with new Audigy driv

<p class="MsoNormal">I have just installed a Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum Model SB0090 to replace my old SB Li've. When upgrading from older Audigy drivers to the latest drivers available on the Creative support website, I find that they cause serious problems with my 4. digital speaker system (Boston BA7500G). With either of the newest drivers installed, when I adjust the volume using either the Creative Surround Mixer or the Creative Remote Control, it causes the rear speakers to stop working. Closer investigation revealed that moving the volume slider in Creative Surround Mixer had a strange effect in Windows Audio Control Panel. Upon opening the Speaker Volume tab in Windows Audio Control Panel, it revealed 8 speaker channels (suggesting that it detected the Audigy card as a 7. when in fact it only supports? 5.). When I moved the volume slider on the Creative Surround Mixer (in either direction) it had the effect of moving all but three of the speaker volume sliders in the Windows Audio Control Panel (Right Channel, Left Channel and Channel 8) to zero, with the result that the rear speakers stopped working. Inm other words, Windows was insisting that the speaker setup was 2. and not 4. as in the Surround Mixer selection. ?It made no difference if either or both of the checkboxes ?Synchronize with Windows Control panel? in Creative Audio Console or ?Move all sliders at the same time? in Windows Control Panel were checked or not. This problem is present in both SBAX_PCDRV_LB_2_8_000.exe and SBAX_PCDRVBETA_US_2_8_000.exe. It does not appear to be present with the older driver SBAX_WBUP2_LB_2_09_006.exe, so for now I have rolled back to that. In fact, with SBAX_WBUP2_LB_2_09_006.exe Windows Audio Control Panel only shows 2 channels in the Speaker Volume tab; Left Channel and Right Channel, but all speakers in my 4. system work and the controls in Creative Surround Mixer and Remote Control all work fine. I would like to be able to take advantage of the fixes available in the two newer drivers but they cause me serious problems. Can anybody help? Finally, the presence of a beta driver on the website suggests that a newer version is coming soon. I wonder?if this issue be addressed with the new driver.

I have some problem as you with new drivers SBAX_PCDRV_LB_2_8_000.exe and SBAX_PCDRVBETA_US_2_8_000.exe. Only in my case I use SB Audigy and headphone 5.. Always when I check 5. in Audio Console it reset to 2.. I can set 2. or headphone only.Message Edited by AlkaliX on 09-3-2008 09:53 AM

  • MSI GF615M-P33 problem with sb audigy se

    Hi everyone
First of all in case it's useful, here's my system:
    Windows xp sp2 32bit
    AMD Athlon X2 240 2.8GHz Socket AM3 2MB
    MSI GF615M-P33 GeForce 6150SE Socket AM3
Asus Radeon X1550 512mb (old card works fine)
    Sound Blaster Audigy SE
    Crucial 2GB DDR3 1333MHz/PC3-10600 Memory CL9 1.5V
    0 Maxtor 80GB  SATAII 7200rpm 8MB Cache
    1 Maxtor 250GB SATAII 7200rpm 8MB Cache
    G7 680 watt psu
So this is my third msi board and everything is fine except windows is giving me this error code: Your computer's system firmware does not include enough information to properly configure and use this device (sound blaster audigy).  To use this device, contact your computer manufacturer to obtain a firmware or BIOS update. (Code 35).
I had a look at what I think is the bios version according to the boot screen A7597nms V2.0 123109 (does this look right?). Also, the advertised version of my board had a red pcb, mine is black and the version is 1.2, don't know if that's important, mentioning anyway.
Now I know the card works with the board because I did something slightly different, (just to see if it would work and save time). After building the computer I didn't reformat the hard drive from the previous mother board, just plugged it in and installed the new chipset drivers etc. Everything fine, soundcard working, except the cpu was only in single core and running very cool; less than 30 degrees c. So, decided to reformat properly, all good, cpu in multi and running around 40 degrees c, but just this problem with the sound card.
Another difference I notice is in windows control panel under Power Options I can't enable 'advanced power management' the option isn't there, so have to switch of the computer manually (which isn't a major problem). In the bios I always disable ACPI as I run a lot of audio processing software and according to some stuff I've read, can cause problems with irq's and all that technical stuff that I don't know much about.
Anyway, to the point. My question is: do I need to update the bios to 2.1 or would it be better to buy a new sound card. I've tried various bios settings and updating the drivers but makes no difference. I've even reinstalled windows with acpi enabled, again, the same error code.
Any help/questions much appreciated. Hope I've explained this well enough.

  • Problem with SB Audigy 2 and Creative Mixer *GERM

    Moinsen,
"Creative SoundFont Bank Manager Web Update ver .00.2__" ( 6,09 MB )
    "Creative MediaSource Player_Organizer 3.30.2__" ( 52,2 MB )
    "Creative MediaSource Go! 3.0.5__" ( 2,3 MB )
    Neustart. Anschliessend noch :
    Gracenote "CDDB_PCApp_LB_2_40_02" ( 3,99MB )
    Neustart.
    Greetz,
    Day

    Gr?e

  • Microphone connection problems with SB audigy 2 ZX platinum pro

I am using an old SB audigy 2 ZX platinum pro purchased back in 2004. It is installed on a PC that I stopped using it in 2005. The pc has no problems and I have started using it again. My problem is that I cannot connect the microphone. Everything was working fine at the time I was this pc including the microphone. At that time I had installed win xp pro( no service packs were available). But after I had to move physically in another location(connection and disconnections etc)and a pc format I cannot use the microphone again. I am trying to connect it to the front panel and to the appropriate places as indicated in the user manual but nothing is happening. I have connected properly the sound cart and all other components are working fine. I checked whether the microphone is checked to silent mode and all other software/di'vers nonetheless everything is working fine. I am now using Win xp pro sp3. I have contacted Creative and they told me to check the mic boost option. But there is no mic boost option now. I clearly recall that there was one when I was using this pc in 2004 under win xp pro(again no service packs were available at that time). One solution I could think is to format again and install some old version of win xp pro (say 2003 or so) and then update to current. But I do not want to format again since I do not have that version of windows available(copyright issues may also raise) plus for some other reasons I do not think I should mention them on an Internet forum. I also tried to download the latest drivers ans apps form creative ,clean installation from the orginal cd including Daniel_K pack and everything someone could think without solving the issue.Creative during our last communication in a very polite way told me to stop emailing them and try to solve the issue on my own as this product is no longer supported. One thing I neglected to mention above is that the mic boost option is available in the motherboard sound chipset. I checked it in one of my attempts to solve the problem. But it disappears when installing the SB driver. I know that if I manage to configure mic boost in the driver settings I will solve the problem. But once again there is no such option. Could you please provide with some suggestions and solutions on how to solve this?. Thank you very in advance for any suggestion and help

  • Digital output problem with new Audigy 2 driv

I updated to the 02.08.0004 drivers today and everything seemed fine till after I calibrated my speakers within speaker settings. I have Z680s hooked up to a Audigy 2 PCI card using both digital out and analog. As with previous drivers I calibrated using 6 Channel direct input.
Anyway, the problem is that when I use windows media player or any other media app, with the speakers set to Coax input (digital) I get the sound coming from the rear 2 speakers, instead of through the front 2 as it should. However, this only happens if I choose a speaker calibration under speaker settings.
It's a bit annoying because I didn't have this problem before. Anyone else have this problem or a solution? Or is it a case of Rolling back to an old driver and hoping the problem doesn't stick?
    Thanks

    Anyone have any ideas?

  • Problems with my Audigy Ga

    OS: Windows 2000
    Motherboard: A-bit IC7-G
    Sound Card: Audigy Gamer
Video Card: EVGA Geforce 6800 ULTRA
    RAM: 2gig
My problem is a weird one, my sound card would be working fine, the sound was great and everything was peachy. However, the moment I start up the game Never Winter Nights, my sound goes dead. I re-install the drivers and everything is fine, back to normal again. However, I did not learn my lesson the first time, I went on to repeat this process on three diffrent occasions, and through trial and error I learned some things.
One: It would only disable my headset sound, my speaker system still worked fine.
Two: My a-bit motherboard comes with an onboard soundcard.
Now if this was the only problem I wouldn't bother posting on here. But recently I have been playing around with the drivers in my audio drivers folder to see if that would fix the problem. I enter Never Winter Nights, and to my dismay the sound goes dead, no problem right? I just re-install the drivers and I get sound again, wrong, this was not the case this time, in fact, even my speaker system didn't work! I am in the dark about what to do and the funny thing is, when I re-install the drivers and windows starts up I can hear the last second of the startup song sometimes but after that, no luck. I think that maybe somehow the motherboard audio is getting in the way of my soundcard audio, or maybe I'm stupid. I don't know. Please help.
    Thank you.

Did you try disabling the onboard audio is your BIOS?

  • Problems with SB Audigy 2 ZS...what a surprise(yeah rig

Okay, I'm trying to configure my sound system for stereo sound WITHOUT any special effects (ie 3-D sound, environmental audio, etc.) After trying to just FIND OUT how to do that (through the help menu and Creative website), I formed a very low opinion of Creative Labs and this product. This is ridiculous, and I am getting extremely frustrated. I doubt if I will buy any of their products, and this sound card came with this computer so I had no choice. The program that requests for me to change the settings states: "Test with the buttons below, and correct settings by using the tools supplies with your sound card." Yeah, right. I tried using the EAX control panel and hitting the "all effects off" button but no luck. I have tried using all the sound and volume settings also. I am running Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 2 and have an SB Audigy 2 ZS (WDM). I have no sound problems whatsoever... I just need to disable special effects so that sound from the left channel is heard only in the left speaker/earphone, and the same thing with the right. Please, anybody, suggest something so I can sleep. Any tips or advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • Problems with SB Audigy 2

    Hello.
I know this is a very known problem, but it also is a very annoying one. I used my SB now for some time without these problems. But when I changed, my motherboard an my Graphicscard, I suddely had scratching and cracking on my speakers (one or two per minute).
    My Hardware:
-Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe with AMD Athlon XP 2000+
    -G RAM Infineon
    -Leadtek Winfast 6600GT-TDH (AGP)
    -2x Realtek Ethernetcard (00Mbit)
-PCI IDE controller (this ist not the problem! cracking remains even when I remove the IDE controller.)
    -Windows 2000 Pro SP4
    -PS/2 mouse and keyboard
-and of course: SB Audigy 2 ZS
At first I noticed it in a game, and tried a lot of things to solve it, nothing worked.
    I...
...tried other PCI slots (5, 4, and 3), to have nothing shareing the same "IRQ-line". (Now it is installed at PCI-slot 4, only shareing IRQ with the onboard G-Bit-Lan (according to manual), which is deactivatet.
...have the newest drivers for my Audigy.
...have the newset BIOS for my board.
...tried to reduce the volume, mute other channels, turning down base.
    Nothing helped!
I noticed that the problem is not only ingame. Even in Windows, and even when there is actually NO AUDIO PLAYED(!), I have such noises. I found out that, these scratches are directly connectet to typing on may keyboard (or holding keys). I've heared that a USB keyboard might solve this problem. But today (here in germany) isn't a workingday, so i can't buy one. An actually i don't want to buy one, beacause in my opinion PS/2 > USB, and i don't see why to spend money when my soundcard has some error.
This is not what I excpect from an Highend/Highprice product! Please Creatve (or the other boardmembers) help me. Or take back this card, with this failure it is absolutely unuseable.
    Thanks so far
    (excuse my bad english)

  • Problems with my Audigy 2 ZS Ga

I have an Audigy 2 ZS Gamer with a Creative Inspire T7700 7. Speaker system. My problem is when I just the speaker test program in the speaker settings in the creative program, all the noise comes out of the front speakers. Everything is connected up right and I selected 7. speakers in the sound and audio devices, speakers section. But if I click the speaker volume it only shows two channels. It seems for some reason my computer is only putting out two channels. When I use the calibration program in the creative program/ speaker settings, I hear noise out of all the channels. I'm confused here on how to fix this crap so any help would be greatly apprishiated.

You say that you selected 7. speakers in Sounds and Audio (in Control Panel, I assume). Do you also have 7. speakers selected in the Creative Speaker Settings applet? And you have the speakers connected to the analog jacks of the Audigy 2 ZS with Digital Only turned off? If you are playing a stereo source, you also need to enable CMSS3D in the EAX Console. I get the impression from this review that the Creative Inspire T7700 speakers may have some built in CMSS/EAX capability of its own. If that is the case, and you have that enabled, try disabling it.Message Edited by Katman on 05-8-2006 0:24 AM
