  • Problems with my zen vision m

about a week ago my zen started acting vrey strange. i turned it off and then an hour ago i turned it back on and it was stuck on the ZEN screen. I would have to drain the battery really low before i could?get it to the actual menu. i also had to keep rebuilding it. then all my music files were gone, but all my video files were still there. so then i switched my Zen to recovery mode. i tried the disk clean up, but that didn't work. Then i tried to upgrade the firmware, that didn't help either. so i tried to format it, didn't work. but now i have a whole new problem. every time i turn it on, it looks like it's fine, but then the screen says "Fimware Problem". I updated the firmware so it should be fine, right? but i'm still having problems. I'm completely confused. could anyone help me out?

hi, i also got the same problem with my creative vision m 30gb, it just happened earlier today. when i turn on my vision m, it just stay on the welcome screen and it doesn't continue, i tried resetting it but nothing happens, and i hear a clicking sounds on zen. what seems to be the problem? any help please.

  • There's video problems with my Zen Vision:M already (M video cable related) Please help

    Some background...
System:Windows XP with Service Pack 2.
Player: Brand new Creative Zen Vision: M with no firmware updates.
My Zen Vision:M has a problem (besides the scratch and fingerprint attracting top surface): It won't play videos on a TV screen when the M Video Cable (also from Creative) is linked to it anymore. It's only been a few hours...
I had the cable already, and got the player today. I let the player charge to /4th of a battery while I was setting up all the software. I ran the software programs just to take a peek, only changing the name of my player (to my name). I used Winamp 5.3 to put a music track on the player to test it. After that, I hooked it up to the VCR in my room through the white and yellow A/V plugs in front. It worked just fine. It to the tv a little large, but I was okay with it.
Later on today, the new AC charger I ordered came in the mail (Player came through UPS, charger through USPS). I looked at my old charger (Creative Zen Touch) and realized it would work with the plug-in part of the sync unit at the bottom. I tested it for a minute and it did. I still took it out and tried the new one. This is where, I think, something happened. I had to press the sides to get the thing in, and it was hard to come out. Everything still fit just right, and nothing seemed to be wrong. I used my old charger as I added more of my music library. Now it was on to videos. I had to convert the first two test vids (they were .wmv), but they played on my player fine. I put a bigger .wmv file onto the player to see if it had to convert it, and it did. It still played on the player. When I go to hook it to the TV with the A/V cord again, there was nothing but a black screen with the occasional diagonal scan line. The sound is still there.
Besides quirks with the navigational system, the player is still great for music and video. Still, I needed no video capability, and one of the things that made the ZVM a buy for me was watching my vids on the big screen. I'd return this for a second try, but I want to know if this is a recurring issue with you guys and if there's something I can do to fix it before a return. Did I mess with a setting? Should I get new firmware? Did I do wrong using my old charger? If any of you have an answer, or need more info on my situation, please let me know.
And BTW, does anyone know of some better software for organizing files on the ZVM? I used Winamp for my Zen Touch and the music on my ZVM, but videos are another ballpark. I can't transfer a video from one folder to another folder (assuming both folders are on the ZVM). Not to mention the music I transferred using Winamp isn't even showing up in Windows Media Player. I think I need a different program altogether.

I have got a new Creative Zen Vision W and getting the same problem....when i attach to the tv then i am able to hear the audio content and the video does not show. Are we missing something ? or is it a problem with the player. Also the software provided with the Zen converts small .vob files to .wmv when ever the size is large it gives an error 'conversion?unsucessful'.Any body facing similar problems please help.

  • Problems with the Zen Vision:M 6

I'm experiencing a lot hangs and lockups with my Zen Vision:M 60GB,
the newest firmware that is viable for the Zen Vision:M 60GB already
on my Zen Vision:M 60GB, firmware version .2.02e, sometimes the
clean up in the service mode works fine, had also a situation
that everything went so bad that it lockedup when I turned my Zen on,
had then to refresh the firmware and lost all my music on its hard dri've,
costed me hours to get everything back on it.
Please, Creative do something about these lockups bring new firmware out
    that solves these problems!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please start supporting the Zen Vision:M 60GB again.

I use Widows XP Professional SP3 and Windows XP Professional x64 SP2 with medially .
I can't see why this matters because the problems are located at the player itself, I've got no
problems with moving files to the player or any problems with connecting the player with the computer,
I'm experiencing a lot of freezups of the firmware of the player, harddisk keeps running, it does that

  • Problem with my Zen Vision:M. HE

I've just bought my brand new Zen Vision:M. I think its really good, but I've got a problem with it. Yesterday I turned on a movie on it, and I got a error messagethat said that the soundtrack wasn't supported. Then itturned itself of. I've tried to charge it, but it doesn't even get the contact withmy pc! And on the top of the player the blue light is flashing. Anyone know what to do?

Sounds like the battery didn't get fully charged before you first used it. The unit shut itself off. If the battery is too low it won't turn on so it won't be seen by the PC.
If while plugged into the PC the blue light on top is flashing, then that is a good thing.
It means that it should be charging.
When it gets to enough of a charge level to turn on it will. Leave it attached to the PC overnight to charge and you should be good to go.
Will have to see if the error still happens when it has a full battery charge.

  • XNJB problems with Macbook & Zen Vision:

    Hello all...
I'm contemplating purchasing a Macbook. I only got my Zen a few weeks ago, but off of Ebay, so it's unreturnable (plus I love it).
So my question is, how many of you have had major problems using XNJB to support your music? Can you upload music on to your Zen from your Macbook with the program? What are the biggest problems?
And finally, please try to convince me whether or not I should buy a Macbook or a Dell laptop, whether all the hassle that comes along with it is worth it with a Macbook.
    Thanks much

  • Order and Refund Problems with Chat and Vision

    Howdy,
I am having a similar NIGHTMARE experience with Chat and Vision.
I ordered my headset in January, and this is July.  I have still not received my refund.  They've strung me along every step of the way delaying, first the delivery of the product, to providing me with a product that did nto work right.  Then the same thing with the refund.  Delay at every turn.
Their big tactic is simply not to write.  I think they're hoping you'll forget all about your refund and have them keep the money.
I have never ever ever dealt with a company this horrible.  And, I am too wondering what the heck is Skype doing teaming up with them?  BAD, BAD, BAD idea.

Hi, Skypefan3000, and welcome to the Community,
As you may have seen in several of my previous posts, have you indeed filed with Skype Customer Service as well?  Doing so is an important step.  Here is a link to the instruction on how to contact Skype Customer Service via their secure portal: Contact Customer Service
As you know you must contact Customer Service, skip past Step 2 of the instruction and proceed to Step 3, Continue Support Request.  Also ignore in Step 4 where you are directed back to the Community, seeing as the Community is where you started.
When you file with Skype Customer Service, I recommend including a brief review of the dates and contents of your previous correspondence with Chat & Vision.
    Best regards,
    Elaine

  • Problem with my zen vision:m 30

hello, i have a problem with my zen. I've reload my zen all the night (with a special chager), i can't turn it on, when i connect it to my pc, there is a light blue, but my pc dont detect it, there is a "!" yellow in the periph settings... I have recovery 2 times, after that it work some minutes, but i cant put music or photos in my zen, the software and my pc dont detect it, i have xp pro sp2, windows media player . I cant recovery the zen with the special tools because it isnt detect by my pc... Thanks for ur help
    sorry for my bad english

The first step is to do a cleanup >reboot on the player if that don't work? then while connected uninstall thru Device Manager, reboot computer then plugin to have Windows find & reinstall the player, if that? doesn't work then format, cleanup>reboot player to see if that solves the problem. loosing files is a last resort . Whatever you do DO NOT choose RELOAD FIRMWARE as you don't have recognition from the computer & can not reload it. RELOAD firmware ERASES the firmware making the player useless until it can be reloaded. Link for resue/recovery access on player? http://forums.creative.com/creativel...ap&thread.id=3

  • Problem with the Zen Vision

So I go to turn on my Zen Vision: M this afternoon. It was working fine all day.
However, this time it did not turn on.
Instead it displayed an icon on the screen.
It shows the Zen with a caution sign beside it.
This Icon still remains on the screen.
    The TouchPad buttons are lighted.
Any help on how to fix this would be appreciated.
    By the way;
I had the "blinking blue light on top" problem yesterday, fixed it though by charging it for a few hours. Thought i'd mention it if it relates to the current problem i'm having.
    Thanks in advance

Have you tried resetting it's (Stick a needle or something long and thin into the small hole at the base of the player, near where you put the USB dock)

  • Problem with Creative Zen Vision

ok, I just got this thing. i plugged it into my computer but the battery charging screen never appeared. So i unplugged it and i noticed the top light remains on no matter what. I tried turning it on, but the screen stays blank. I tried resetting it, but the top light turns off as I hold the reset button and turns back on after i release it. I connected it to my computer. I've tried to turn it on by holding the on button, but it the screen remains blank. Through it all, the top light has not turned off. The screen has not shown a single thing, not a charging or anything.

I just got mine today. This the way it works--make sure it's plugged into a computer USB 2.0 port and not a USB hub. The power light will blink. After say 20 to 45 minutes of charging finally the blinking battery and thunderbolt indicator will come on. Some people here thinks the chargings done when the battery goes to full--not so--wait til the lightning bolt goes off. I tired of waiting and soaked in a hot tub. When I came back the screen was completely blank---it will do that after finished charging. I'd say 5 and a half hours for a full charge. The power button also stopped blinking. With the USB cable still plugged in turn on the power again--provided you have XP service pack 2 and WMP 0 installed on your computer a splash screen will come up and you have the option to synch with WMP 0. Select it and I like manual. Choose your songs from your library and synch away. I did 520 songs in a little over 0 minutes. Shut down power, unplug. Enjoy on the go. The battery can be recharged from any state as it is lithium-ion. Really the thing works well--I dont understand the problems people are having. Just takes some close monitoring at first to catch on the way it behaves in its operation.
A solid 9. I'll give it a 0 after I get it 2 work 2 morrow and find that the win2000 trick with the driver and wmp 9 works.

  • Re: Order and Refund Problems with Chat and Vision

Oh my god. Chat and vision are by far the worst customer service I have ever had to deal with. I ordered 4 RTX Dual Skype phones and had endless trouble with them straight out of the pack: not charging properly, not staying logged in, not allowing Skype calls!!! And other major issues.
Also I was charged import duty which is the exact opposite of what they say on their website. The customer support constantly drags the process out asking for documents that I've already supplied and taking days between communication. Constantly avoiding any commitment and refund! Why is Skype linked up with these people? They are actually worse than Eircom. They now want to collect the phones and have them 'assessed' by there team back in Hong Kong. Any chance I will see a refund or the phones again or any glimmer of actual customer support? I doubt it. It seems that their approach is to string you out until you loose patience! Skype get your act together!!!!! Sort these crooks out.

    Hello,
I've sent your post to the Chat&Vision customer support unit together with a request for urgent action.

  • Problems with a Zen:Vision M Gig

Ok so when I plug my Zen into the computer from any USB port it will recognize it for about 30 seconds to a minute then it will no longer recognize it. During that time I can access it drag and drop through the explorer but not matter if I do nothing or try to add something it always loses connection. I have Unistalled and reinstalled the MTP driver and when I either uninstall and reinstall it will recognize the player again for a short while and then will lose it again. I am running Windows XP with service pack 3. Any idea what could be causing this?

Could this be your problem here? http://forums.creative.com/creativel...read.id=206650

  • Problems with Firmware for Vision:M... HE

Where do I begin? Well, my Vision:M had frozen up one day for no apparent reason and after it got done rebuilding, I had discovered I had lost more than half my library. Desperate to regain my losses, I hooked up the mp3 player to the computer only to my dismay find out that it is not being recognized. I decided to install the firmware Creative has on this website (v.6) but multiple "Firmware upgrade failed" messages kept popping up. To my amazement, one random try worked but (another but) the mp3 player froze during rebuilding and said "firmware problem" even after it said the upgrade was successful. I had to restart it but now it goes immediately to recovery mode; I formatted the thing and tried reloading my firmware but it says the current version is installed. So now I'm erasing v.6 to install v.6 and no luck yet. Does anyone have any suggestions, before I shoot myself over this stupid thing?

    anyone?

  • I'm having problems with my new Vision:M too. Help Ple

I just received a new Vision M which was purchased from an online retailer. My first disappointment was the absence of a charger that plugs into the wall. All that is provided is the USB cable.
I installed the software on my computer (Windows XP Pro) and connected the Vision M as instructed; and nothing. It's not charging, nothing lights up and it shows no signs of life. I tried various USB cables and ports with no different results.
Have I overlooked anything? Why doesn't this thing start up, or start charging? My next step will be to repeat this process on a different computer.
Please help. I have only 7 days to return this device it turns out to be defecti've.
    Thanks in advance.
    Hector

ok new zen vision m needs 5+hrs charging to have enough power for your PC to recognise it. a wall charger would help, especially for new zen. in meantime, ensure your PC is having the preferred system requirements using this tool

I had the same problems with a new Vision M. Charged it for a weekend and no good. Returned it and my replacement had the same problems.
the unit powers up from AC but did not show any battery charging symbol.
I took to the Forums and saw mention of a firmware upgrade. I was at .32xx and the upgrade was for .6xx
I downloaded the firmware, connected the player to AC to power it up and also to the PC via USB. Ran the firmware exe and after a few minutes and an automatic player reboot the charge icon appeared.....
All is fixed ! Saw plenty of posts in forums about this battery issue and yet no official mention from Creti've about it. What's that about ?
