Problems with my display driver and CC

When I right click on a photo in Lightroom and select "edit in Photoshop CC", my screen goes black and then restarts with a message that my display driver stopped working and successfully restarted itself. Then, CC opens. But sometimes it doesn't and I get a message that CC has stopped working. If I open CC as a standalone, there doesn't seem to be a problem. Any thoughts on what is going on?

CC is the generic designation for the Cloud, which is a delivery medium

Photoshop has encountered a problem with the display driver

I rummaged around in here looking at opengl topics and others associated with the above error, but I'm not seeing what I'm encountering (or I am and I don't recognize it!).....
I bought CS4 a week or so ago, and installed it on a system running XP32 with service pack 3, 4GB of ram withe the /3GB switch set, nVidia 8600 GT card (which according to the list is supported), and multiple spindles for images, scratch, applications, and so on. I found other topics earlier so I downloaded the most recent drivers for my video card.
I'm not crashing and burning, but I'm getting some messages...
I opened an image, and while working on it I wanted to do a transform/warp. I got the message that Photoshop couldn't perform the operation because there wasn't enough memory. It didn't crash but I had to shut down CS4 and restart it to do the warp.
Most recently I opened a couple images for a panorama, and while doing the merge I got the message that "Photoshop has encountered a problem with the display driver and has temporarily disabled gpu enhancements." It tells me to check for the latest drivers - I've ALREADY got the lastest drivers. Again, no crash, just the warning. It completed the panorama.
There have been a couple other occurrences of messages of this type, so I'm curious if there's some set of preferences or system settting I need to adjust to optimize things? I've alrady adjusted the nVidia settings because I also run Lightroom and they're having problems too.
I've read the tech notes for the video and such and didn't find any set of optimizations there so is there a set of adjustments beyond the preferences that needs to be adjusted to improve memory and video performance? And if so, can someone point me to them.

As I understand it (suspect at best) XP32 can address 4 gig of memory. the /3gb switch lets the applications get at 3 gig of that. If my video card takes the first 256MB, and XP is guaranteed the other 750 of the 1st gig, and in the CS4 performance preferences I should be giving it from 1462 - 1895 MB (I've given it around 1890), that leaves me with another gig or so... Is that limited to applications or can XP use it? In any case, I'm not crashing, I just get the message every so often about being out of memory. I don't recall ever seeing this with CS3, but new version, new oddities...

Photoshop CS5.1 Crashes Upon Opening: "Photoshop has encountered a problem with the display driver-"

Every time I try to open photoshop I get a window that pops up and says:
"Photoshop has encountered a problem with the display driver, and has temporarily disabled GPU enhancements. Check the video card manufacturer's website for the latest software.
GPU enhancements can be enable in the Performance panel of Preferences."
Then windows shuts the program down. The details of the problem are:

The error happens so quickly that I don't have time to do anything. Please help. >.< I've been on hold for *checks phone* 2 hours exactly. Wow. It is a legit copy and was working last month with no trouble. I've updated the drivers and tried a few solutions that have worked for other people that I found on Google (such as disabling CUDA and setting my "power management mode" to "prefer maximum performance" on my video card) but so far nothing has worked.

It has stopped crashing because somehow it turned off "Enable GL Drawing" on its own because I could never even get a menu open. Not sure how it did that but I am grateful. I still get the error when I open Photoshop up but at least it hasn't crashed yet. At the time when it was crashing I never would have been able to get you the system info due to the speed that it was crashing upon just opening the program. In case you still need it:

Problem with the Display Driver

Hi.
I just got this message when I started Adobe Photoshop today, that's the CS4 edition, about that there was a problem with the Display driver: "Photoshop have encountered a problem with the display driver, and has temporarily disabled GPU enhancements. Check the video card manufacturer's website for the latest software. GPU enhancements can be enabled in the Performance panel of Preferences"
My problem is not what to do but how to do it. I went to System profiler and found something "ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro, and: Chipset Model: ATI,RadeonHD2600".
And so I want to ATI's website but can't find what I'm looking for.
Any help?

I have cs6 - master collection. I bought it on last december and i didn't upgrade it.
"After Effects" works for some minutes and then it stucks and give the massege above
"Display driver NVIDIA Windows kernel Mode Driveer, Version 334.89 stopped, responding and has succesfully recovered."
and preimer works and suddenly the computer crashes not before giving the massege :
"The NVIDIA OpenGL driver lost connection with the display driver due to exceeding the Windows Time-Out limit and is unable to continue.
The aaplication must close. error code: 7"

I am getting an error encountered problem with the display driver for my Photoshop CS5 extended

I have Windows 7 and have used CS5 extended with no problems for quite a while now.
Last week I started up CS5 and received the error:
"Photoshop has encountered a problem with the display driver and has temporarily disabled GPU enhancements. Check the video card manufacturers website for the latest software. GPU enhancements can be enabled in the Performance panel of Preferences."
"Please close program and uninstall and re-install if problem persists"
I was able to edit, however when I went to save my work it would not do so. The following error came up.
"Could not complete the command because the extension could not be loaded"
"Could not save a copy as .....because of a program error"
I checked to make sure I have the latest driver, I also uninstalled and re-installed the program and I am still getting the errors.
Can anyone help with this?

No. Apple replaced the disk drive with a solid state drive (SSD) instead. The SSD is faster the old disk drive.

Problems with updating display driver

Hi! I have a problem: I'm using Premiere Elemets 9 and I need to update the display driver. But when I try, it says: "The update server is not responding.The server might be offline temporarily, or the Internet of firewall settings may be incorrect. Please try again".
And I try againg and it's the same. What can I do? I need to do it in order to continue editing!!!!!!
Do I need to unistall and install Premiere Elements 9 again?

Try doing a manual update, to work around/past your security/firewall/antivirus settings

Problem with FireWire Hard Drive and JVC MiniDV Video Cam

I've been running my iMac with a 1 TB WD MyBook Firewire drive and it has been working fine.
I just purchased a JVC GR D850 miniDV camera. I hooked the camera up to the second FireWire port on my iMac and, initially, the import of the video from the camera into iMovie was ok (video being saved to the external firewire drive). After a couple of minutes, I got a warning that a device had been disconnected improperly, apparently the firewire drive just disconnected itself from the machine. I rebooted everything and once again, as soon as I turned on the video camera the drive disconnected.
After that, the iMac won't even recognize that the video camera is connected, and when I checked the little bit of video that had been saved on the drive it was unusable. Completely choppy.
Am I dealing with a problem of too little power/memory on this G5 iMac?

You don't specify which model iMac you have, but 2 GB should be enough to handle a video download. Can you try connecting the camera to another computer to see if it is faulty?
Also, have you tried connecting the camera to the port that you have the MyBook in?
Try resetting the SMU and see if that helps. Please post back with results,

I have a problem with my software/drive and so Apple needs to wipe it and return it to factory settings; is Google Drive a safe and feasible way of backing up my computer prior to the wipe?

I stupidly downloaded MacKeeper and my computer has since been going bezerk. I went to the Apply store yesterday and they ran some tests on the computer and it came up with a Software warning so they've booked me in for early next week to wipe the drive. I've deleted all related files to MacKeeper, but in Activity Log it's still running (I tried quitting but can't because it's running under the user "root"). I'm wary of programs now but have downloaded MyDrive (Google Drive) and am attempting to back it up. Is this okay?

You probably don't need to do that.
How to Remove MacKeeper or use the Uninstall option in MacKeeper.
To erase and reinstall:
Install or Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Erase the hard drive:
1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
2. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the
      left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on
        the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on
      the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
            because it is three times faster than wireless.

did your friend installed the XP from a MS Cd or from the Toshiba recovery CD?
At my Toshiba notebook the autoplay section is also setted to Music file and works properly!
When did this failure occured for the first time? Did you used the MS System recovery option at Start - Accessories - system prog. - System recovery
Perhaps the backsetting of your system solve the problem!
You can also check if a firmware update is available for your drive! (If it is a Toshiba drive go to http://www.toshiba-europe.com/storage/index.asp?nav=HOM&page=HOM&frame=home

Problem with p70530 stepper drive and T21NRLH-LDN-NS-00 motor

Hi.. I am trying to get a motor working.. I have a NI UMI-7772 motion interface (http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/12534), controlling two PS P70530-SDN (http://www.danahermotion.com/products/product_detail.php?parent_id=549) drives with each a T21NRLH-LDN-NS-00 stepper motor.. But i can't seem to get it to work.. I've tried almost every possible setting in Measurement and Automation Explorer, and the program seems to think the motor is moving, but nothing happens.. At best the motor is holding the axis, so that you can harddly move it manually.. The drive has a number of preconfigured motors, that should work (http://img526.imageshack.us/my.php?image=drivesbb7.jpg) but the drive I have is'nt on that list.. According to the manual I need a cable (P7S2-232-9D) to configure the drive from a computer.. The problem is, that I'm short on time and don't have that cable.. So is there any of the other motorsettings that could work with this drive, or do any of you have any other suggestions..

Hello ben64,
You should use the software (via GPIB) to lower the drive’s current output to the motor. You can do this in real-time while the motor is running.
However, if you decrease the power supply to the drive you may not get the point where the motor stalls but rather the point at which the drive fails/browns out/chokes.

This code works with java 1.1.8, 1.2 & 1.3 but not with java 1.4 !

Have you tried the drivers shipped with Oracle9i Db R2? they should work against JDK 1.4

Firmware update problem with raid mirrored drives and solution

Note this - the firmware update will not install from a software mirrored boot drive. It will install just fine from a non-mirrored clone. So, make a clone, set it as your boot drive from system preferences, and all is good.

Well this is a pain, this is what I figured I would have to do but c'mon apple, I am sure people are not going want to hassle with making a clone, finding or buying a single drive to install the OS to, boot that drive, install the firmware patch, reboot, make sure it took, tear down the system, swap the soft-RAID set of drives back in etc. etc. etc.
This is another reason why Apple need to take note from the PC world, I know they like to "Think Different" when it comes to things like this but they really need to give access to and write a driver for the supported on-chip hardware RAID controller located in the Motherboards Southbridge chip of THIS motherboard, just like all other woodcrest Xeon based systems running the same intel motherboard chipset!
I am sure this post will get me a long list of flames from the Apple fanboys explaining how what Apple is doing is really better, or telling me that if I want hardware RAID 5 to just go and buy $6000 xServe RAID setup.

On my itunes (on pc) and on my touch i had many songs and albums, purchased, burnt and transfered. this was fine and always synchronized both ways. had problems with my hard drive and had to reformat it all. since then my pc itunes only got back some 60%

when i try to synchronize, it says that it would first erase all in the ipod before syncing. all the original contents are intact on the ipod touch. i have backed it up to the pc, yet, to sync. it insists on first erasing all. please someone help

I get the following message while doing something as simple as scrubbing through the timeline, or changing opacity of a layer. in 1080p, I have a picture layer, a solid, some color corrections, and that's it. i just got this new computer and i have never had this problem on my old computer.
this message appears after AE crashes."The NVIDIA OpenGL driver lost connection with the display driver and is unable to continue. The application must close."
this message appears in the taskbar: "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered. Display driver NVIDIA Windows kernel Mode Driver, Version 267.21 stopped responding and has successfully recovered"
any ideas on how to stop AE from causing my display driver to stop working?

For anyone picking up this thread (it's probably too late for rrebeiz40 by now!) I have come across a simple but apparently very effective tip that has solved the 'OpenGL driver lost connection' issue for many people using various NVIDIA with various Adobe progs (incidentally a lot of these seem to crop up on Dell machines, especially Notebooks).
(It fixed my issue with Premiere Pro CS4 - GeForce GT 555M on Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit, Dell XPSL702X).

"This issue led me to this fix: go to NVIDIA Control Panel --> Manage 3D Settings --> Global Settings, and switch "Power Management Mode" to "Prefer Maximum Performance" (the default "Adaptive" setting seemed to be the culprit). And that's it! The key here is changing the "Global" setting, as my individual programs were already set to "Prefer Maximum Performance." I can cause the error to reoccur by changing back to "Adaptive."
