Problems with my iPad Air

I am having so many problems with my iPad Air that I got for Christmas. It is not jailbroken. Sometimes it doesn't work. The internet keeps going out all the time but it's not with my network because I got my network checked out and it was perfectly fine. Safari never works even when I am connected to the internet. All of the apps keep crashing. On the app store it doesn't let me download anything. I still have about 15 gigabytes left on my iPad Air. It doesn't let me sent or recieve messages. On the mail app it doesn't let me check my email because it just says I'm not connected to the internet even though I have all 3 bars. It is so slow. When I am on any app that acually works then it takes about 10 minutes just to load one thing. I think there is an internal problem with it or it might just need to be restored. I never dropped it and I always keep it protected so I don't know what is going on.

The wifi icon only indicates he presence of a wifi signal, not that you are connected.
First do this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
iPad running slow? How to speed up a slow iPad

If You Think iOS 7 Feels Slow Here’s How to Speed It Up
http://osxdaily.com/2013/09/23/ios-7-slow-speed-it-up/
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.
Some things to try first for internet/wifi connection:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are drooping internet connection)
    •    Launch Settings app
    •    Tap on Wi-Fi
    •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. • 2 Problems with the Ipad Air...midi keyboard and usb microphone

    IN SHORT:
2 Problems with the Ipad Air...what midi keyboard will connect to the lightning camera connector and what microphone as well?  There seems to be issues with the ipad air not being able to power them.  Has anyone got any devices to work yet?
    IN DEPTH:
I have a yeti microphone that when I plug in it says its using too much power.  A little samsung go mic I have plugs in find and works but isnt quite what im looking for.  My midi keyboard is not reading...its probably 15yrs old (didnt expect it to work).  I have ordered a usb powered keyboard but im now nervous it may not work if it requires too much power.  Has anyone had any success with a particular model of keybaord?  I saw a youtube video of the CME Xkey in which it was plugged into an ipad that uses the lightning jack, but was unsure if it was the air or a different model.
Any help is appreciated on this...I love my ipad air and hoping to make it my fully functional music recording device.
By the way I mostly use garageband

    hey mate
Yes what I ended up doing is buying a powered usb hub.  They are about 10 dollars or so on amazon.com.   There are tons to choose from.  I use a yeti micrphone now with no issues and a midi keyboard.  You will need the lightning usb adapter too.  You plug the lightning adapter into the ipad and the hub into the adapter then plug all your accessories into the powered hub.  So it works well you just gotta buy an extra piece of equipment.

  • Does anyone have a problem with the ipad air screen?

I bought an ipad air last week and the left edge of the screen was darker than the other side. It was obvious so I just returned it and bought a new one since the store didn't have the same style in storage. I bought another one from another retailer, and just found the same problem, but not as serious as the former one. So I just took it back to the store the next day and exchange another one. Unfortunately, the third one had the same problem at the up-left corner of the screen. I admit that I am picky, but I think I pay this amount of money so I deserve perfect screen. If the brightness of the two sides is different, I dont think it is a product of good quality.
Just want know if anyone else have the same problem with me. Or you just can bear the small diffrence of display.  BTW, in China, it is reported spreadly that the ipad air screen has a problem. They even generalize the serial number for problematic ipad air.

Yep.   Many quality control problems.   The new mini has fewer issues.   No problems with older models.

  • Any problems with new iPad Air 2?

I have an iPad 2 (2nd Generation) 512GB RAM w/32GB storage.  Running out of storage room.
Thinking of getting the new iPad Air 2 128GB wifi
Before I buy one, any problems or issues with it? I hope the issues are only with iOS 8  and not the hardware.
iOS issues can be fixed with a new update.

Currently as of this post there is a random popping sound every so often, wifi shuts off sometimes and turns back on. The speaker vibrating isn't a defect but it's there because of how thin.

  • Apple, please fix your connectivity problem for the iPad Air 2! Your OS 8.2 did nothing to fix this!! Very frustrating to not be able to connect to wifi some days!

can someone from apple please address the wifi connectivity problems with the iPad Air 2??

thank you for responding. My specific wifi issue is that my connection will disconnect then reconnect in a matter of minutes of each other. After an hour of this back and forth dance of connections it finally stays disconnected. I can go two weeks without  this issue then it will start up again for a day or 2. I have done all the basic troubleshooting.. Including checking and restarting my modem and router. Our iPad mini does not have these issues. None of our laptops/iPhones or xbox have connectivity issues. I have found many other iPad Air 2 users complaining of the same iconnection problems on various blogs. One blog had even discussed the ios update and how they were surprised it did not include a bug fix for this connectivity problem.

  • TS3899 Cannot send email with new iPad air.  Works fine with old iPad and iPhone.

Cannot send email with new iPad air.  Works fine with old iPad and iPhone.  I have deleted account and reinstalled.

Thanks.  I got the problem fixed.  Spent time with the Apple folks and was kicked up to a senior advisor.  It seems the problem was with my internet provider - Tmie Warner.  Remember I could use the old ipad and the iphone to send mail.  I checked all the specifics between the three units.  It seems that TW is changing over from the RR.com  to TWC.com.  Since the new ipad air was just set up, it fell under the new TWC mail specifics.

  • Problem with SharedObject in AIR 3.5 IOS

    Hi,
I've been compiling my ios app with AIR 3.4 since it has been released and a week ago I downloaded AIR 3.5 and uploaded my app compiled with AIR 3.5. But I realized there has been a problem with sharedobject in AIR 3.5.
I used var sharedObject:SharedObject = SharedObject.getLocal("myScores"); this code to save the game score and every time I uploaded my app it worked out. It has never lose the game score.
But with AIR 3.5 all game scores are gone. I didn't change any code about sharedobject. What's going on here? Now my customers will be upset to losing their information and even money they purchased through in-app purchase.
The thing is AIR 3.4 was fine but AIR 3.5 seems to be the problem.
    Please HELP ME!!

We also replied in the bug report.
It is a really serious problem.
We experienced it also in AIR 3.7.
It is only happening on iOS. Android works fine.
It happens with these both methods:
    var mySharedObject:SharedObject = SharedObject.getLocal("deutscheWitze");
    FlexGlobals.topLevelApplication.persistenceManager.setProperty("soundCheck", "yes");
Only some users experience the problem.
We think it has something to do with the compilation or installation of the app.
    Best
    omi

We are fellow users here on these user-to-user forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple.
Have you tried closing all apps via the iPad's multitasking bar and then doing a soft-reset and seeing that helps ? To close all apps :
iOS 7: double-click the home button to open the taskbar, and then swipe or drag each app's screen from there up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.
iOS 6 and below : from the home screen (i.e. not with any app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of each app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
Soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Wifi problems with new ipad

I'm trying to learn how to correct wifi problems with new iPad.  It is the wifi only, 64GB model.  I want to be able to use it at work, where we have a great wifi network.  I can usually connect to our network with no problem, but after an hour or so my iPad loses the network.  When I try to reconnect, I see that the network is showing full strength reception, but I get the error message from the iPad that I am "Unable to join" the network.  My iPhone connects to the same network seamlessly, as do all of the other iPhones of my co-workers and the older generation iPads that some of our staff has.
At other locations, I typically have no problems (home, apple store, etc.) but I have had the same situation pop up at a coffee shop where I could see that there was a wifi network available, but I could not join it even though it was the shop's free wifi.
I have tried turning the iPad off, turning off wifi and turning it back on again, and forgetting the wifi network in question.  I can't think of any other methods that are available to an end user to correct the problem.
I have already gone to the Apple store to swap out the unit, and the newer one is having the same symptoms.
Can anyone offer any advice here?  This is quite frustrating.
