Problems with new 10.1 software update

Everything was going well, until I tried the calculator out, it has changed appearance and functions since the update. Anyways, was trying to do some conversions, and it locked up.. Battery percentage went from about 40 percent to 10 percent in a matter of minutes, and phone got really hot ( 43 degrees)
I was able to close out the calculator programme, but when I re opened it , it was still frozen.. Quickly had to restart the phone, as it was getting super hot.

Problems with new CC 2014 Software - Trial Activiation

Hello,
i got the problem with using the new Adobe Creative Cloud Products of the 2014 version. I deinstalled the old versions and installed the new versions. when i use then adobe audition 2014 i works without any problems. if i now restart my computer i always get the message of audition, that my trial period has left. then i click on the button to license this software. now it connects to the adobe servers and the dialog disappears. i can use this software without any problems. but almost every time when i restart the computer i get now this dialog.
what i tried:
i deleted opm.db file in the oobe folder of the Windows AppData Path. nothing chances.
i am really fustrated. i am paying money for using this software, but i cannot use it properly. How do I get this "Trial dialogue" off again?
I am using Windows 8.1 64 Bit.

It is a normal personal computer. Without any optimization programs or similar. Even as Additional info: I subscribed to the annual contract the entire Creative Cloud. These problems occurred after uninstalling the old versions of the program and after the installation of the new 2014 versions. Before I had even before the one or other problem. Problem with new 1.03 Color update? Media offline.

Hi.
I'm fairly new at using Color. I recently updated Color to 1.0.3.
and now I have a problem when I send a sequence from FCP to Color.
All the media (except graphics made in Livetype) are offline.
Before the update, everything was working fine.
Sending the project and exporting/importing a XML-file gives the
same results.
I have tried to reconnect the media, but it seems to do nothing
when I find the right clip and click "choose".
(I have some clips with variable speeds made in Final Cut, but
that didn't seem to be a problem in the earlier version. Worked just fine.)
I'm editing XDCAM 720p footage shot at 60fps.
Is anyone else having this problem? Does the update change some preferences
that I'm not unaware of?

You will not find Color 1.0.2 anywhere since Apple has released an update, unless someone has been good enough to take precautions and download the updaters first, save them, and then do installations. There is a preference within Software Update that you can first download the updates so you can then save them, then install.
Speaking of precautions, reading this thread, I'm just flabberghasted that folks don't do clones at all before updating. Had you cloned your system drive, you'd be back up and productive in less than an hour. Cloning a system drive is a well documented piece of system maintenance and it takes nothing but an investment in a harddrive (cheap these days), some free software and some time. Amazing.
That being said, certainly does seem to be a Sony-centric issue stemming from this update. You may check the other Color boards and Sony camera boards to see if other users are having these problems and if there are any solutions. You can also leave feedback for Apple. FWIW, I don't work with xdcam ex material so I've not been having these issues at all. As I said before, this update cured some ills I was having with Color and it works better than ever where I sit.

Problem with iphone4 music after software update

Updated software on my iphone 4 on 3/22/13. Now, my entire music library on my phone is in icloud format and must be downloaded. Discovered this while flying cross country. Grrrr.
Why did this happen and - more to the point - how can i get my music library to sync normally again so it's simply on my phone and ready to play?

I phoned my provider as requested and they have advised me that it is necessary to send my brand new phone in for repair. I honestly don't know if they have opened a support ticket. I do thank you for your prompt assistance thus far, however, I am none too impressed with this situation. I hope the next software update doesn't cause more problems, so far the phone isn't worh the contract it's written for when it comes to user friendliness, app availability, or user options. I was hoping for better from BlackBerry this time around.

Download problem with iPod Touch January software update

Hi, some problems with the software update. Please advise
- Ipod Touch user from australia
- went for holidays in malaysia for a while and purchased the software update via itunes australia
- The download did not start but i was charged $25AUD
- Returned to australia, attempted the download again but failed because itunes stated that the update has already been downloaded.
- Attempted to update the iPod Touch by clicking on "Check for Update" but software has already been updated to the current version (1.1.3).
- The new applications did not appear on iPod Touch.

Do you manually manage your music?
iTunes has to sync to unlock the January software, manually manage music has to be deselected.
Make sure your content on your ipod is backed up before sync.

Problems with new 2.2.1 update

I have just updated my ipod touch to 2.2.1 and I am unable to put back the artwork (the cover & Album names) that took me hours and hours to put on my home music. Any CD that I put on my ipod now will not show the artwork. Only downloaded music from iTunes has artwork. The artwork still appears in iTunes, but will not sync onto the iPod. When I did the latest download, all content was wiped off and I had to do a restore which took hours. What can I do to restore my artwork? The problems associated with these software updates are spoiling what is a great product.

Before you spent all that time adding the artwork manually, did you try (from the menu) +Advanced -> Get Album Artwork+ ? If the name of the album and artist is in the database used by the iTunes Store, iTunes will download the album artwork for you. The artwork that is downloaded is stored in a more efficient format than the images you add to each file manually. I believe that format is also the same one that iPods use to store the artwork. Even if you manually added the art, and they appear in iTunes, you may want to give that command at least once.
When I did the latest download, all content was wiped off and I had to do a restore which took hours.
It should not take "hours" to do a Restore and resync, unless perhaps your computer does not have USB 2.0 ports.

You are more likely to reach other iPod touch users in that forum category. The iPod category is often used as a general iPod category, but it is really for the older iPods (from before they had color screens).

Surround sound problems with new 15.11 software

Firstly I would like to give a big thankyou for getting the new IP recording software release out it is very welcome.
Unfortunately this has highlighted even more the surround sound issue for me. All my tests have been done over optical (if anyone could repeat the tests over HDMI it would be very much appreciated just to see if there is any difference).
Here are my findings so far with a small amount of testing.
BT TV on Demand
HD 5.1 movies appear to switch correctly
SD and HD none multi surround movies appear to play in stereo from the start needing the menu/surround workaround applying to get surround sound as is the same for the tv box sets and kids on demand.
IP Channels
HD sports channels i.e. BT Sports 1,2 and ESPN (I have hidden the SD versions so haven't tested them) appear to a switch to surround sound correctly
All other channels start in stereo and require the AD button on/off workaround to switch to surround sound.
IP Channel Recordings
Here lies the real problem for me now. Any IP channel recordings (not tested sports channels yet) start in stereo and require the AD on/off button workaround to switch to surround sound BUT as soon as you apply a fast forward or rewind when it starts to play again it has switched back to the stereo feed which is a much higher volume. I hope you can appreciate how annoying this gets that everytime you fast forward/rewind a recorded IP channel to sound switches and starts playing at a higher volume until the workaround is applied (everytime).
Obviously the freeview channels all appear to switch and work fine.
I am sure there is more to find but I just felt it worthwhile getting the issue highlighted AGAIN now the recording ability increases the visibility of this bug.

Maybe slightly harse as with more testing I am not sure if this is a youview/humax issue and is a problem on the catchup player on youview retail also. I have added below to my first post slightly with a few more findings and some clarity.
When I say surround sound what I am talking about is the Dolby Digital track (this can be 5.1 or 2.0 but in 2.0 format my amp can encode that with pro logic 2 and make it sound like a reasonable surround sound track through my speakers).
After testing through HDMI sound I find that this is even worse and in most cases will not transmit the Dolby 2.0 track at all even using the workarounds.
The freeview HD channels work flawlessly as do the BT sports HD channels (all 3 inc ESPN) (non-HD freeview channels do not appear to carry anything but standard stereo so can't switch no matter what). If anyone has a surround setup check the difference in volume between channel 001 (BBC non HD) and channel 101 (BBC HD) this I believe is the difference between the standard stereo channel and the dolby 2.0 stereo channel.
All IP channels (except sports) fail to automatically select the Dolby 2.0 soundtrack unless forced, as do the catch up channels (tested during programme playback as no Dolby during the adverts) and if recorded switch back to standard stereo everytime a skip/rewind step is made.
Most on-demand content fail to switch automatically to the Dolby 2.0 track but can be forced with the exception of some HD movies with 5.1 soundtracks that appear to work without a workaround.

Problems with my first ever software update..

this is a new imac, purchased 3 weeks ago. i have been instructed to perform the usual 'Software Update' (clicking on apple icon - choosing Software Update)
as expected i am told that the computer needs to restart to install the update. i click restart and the little download bar comes up and it goes part of the way but then stops and won't go any further. i end up having to restart the computer by holding down the power button and i HATE doing this.
i knew the initial software update would take a while, but i have even left it overnight on a couple of occasions with the same result...
any ideas??

Try deleting this file: com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist
You will find it here; /Users/YourName/Library/Preferences. Drag that file from the Preferences folder to the Trash, empty the Trash and reboot.
Go to System Preferences (Applications folder) and click Software Updates. Click the Scheduled Check tab. Then click: Check Now.
If you still can't install updates from the Software Update window, make note of the name of the update, then go to:

Download problems with iphone 2.1 software update

hi can some one help. when i connect my iphone 3g to itunes it promps me to download software update 2.1 but when i download it, it stopps at 1kb to go and says download fail internet connection timmed out pleas try again. iv tried several times and it just does the same thing. any ideas would be very greatfull. thanks

download the firmware manually then install...
do the download only option making sure you get it saved first then try the install

Problems with Storm 9530 after software update

Greetings, I am new to this forum and hope I am in the right place.
After an email prompt from BlackBerry, Yesterday, I updated my software on my Verizon BlackBerry Storm, 9530.
Now I have several problems;
1. Voice commands are not being recognized as easily as previously, making hands free calling almost impossible.
2. Pandora will stall near the end of each selection. The song will resume after I push the pause and then the play button.
3. When I attempt to live stream from a local radio station, I get the following message: "! This playlist contains no valid songs"    Buffering... is displayed in the upper right hand corner, but no connection is ever made.
Any ideas what I need to do to fix the thing?

1) A known bug...we all hope that RIM is working on a fix.
2) A known bug...Pandora is working on a fix. I have heard that it is available on their website but not yet via AppWorld.
3) Very difficult to diagnose...it could be the website itself...it could be your device browser settings....it could be a number of things. Try these steps.
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Websites can be coded to perform better with some browsers rather than others. The BB Browser can appear to websites as several different things...that setting is, from within the Browser App, (BBKey > Options > Browser Configuration > Browser Identification). Changing that to another browser might help your BB interact better with some websites. In combination with all of the other configuration settings, you need to find the combination of all of these settings that works best for the sites you are visiting. Sadly, there is no "best advice" to give as each persons needs are different. But, I typically find that changing the Browser Identification often helps -- most often by changing to FF or IE (if those are available to you...the options vary by carrier).
Hopefully something in there will get you going again.

Problems with monitor/resolution after software update

I installed the latest security update tonight, and now my monitor no longer properly works with my mini. I have a Dell 2005FPW. I was using 1680x1050 resolution with no problems. When I rebooted after the update, I noticed my resolution had been changed... and now the mac only detects my display as a "VGA display" and I can't select that resolution any more! The monitor still works fine with my PC.
How can I get my 1680x1050 back??

Do you have a KVM switch to share your monitor between your Mac and your PC? I was getting this problem when I got one of these so my new Mac could share my monitor etc with my old one but found a way round it. In System Preferences -> Displays, tick the 'Show displays in menu bar' box. Then click on 'Detect displays' from the drop down menu. The screen will go blue for a moment and the computer will recognise the monitor for what it is.

Problems with 10.5.2 software update & G-mail

Since I downloaded the 10.5.2 version a couple of days ago, I have had problems when writing my e-mails at G-Mail. I will explain:
Imagine you are composing an e-mail in G Mail. With Apple you have 2 choices:the old and the new versions in G Mail. In the new version, when typing the e-mail...it doesn't remember the contact list...so you have to type each letter of the e-mail in the TO:....CC...and BCC...and that is a real pain the back...right?
..The other problem is that..when typing the body of the e-mail...and try to type a capital letter...the mouse arrow/pointer...goes straight to the...TO:...part of the e-mail...to solve it...you have to do a trick...that after a while...you get a headache...by moving the pointer and the shift key back and forth.
My question..were the Apple software developers in a hurry to see a foot ball game or what..for they didn't finish and tested the software before releasing it.
Please fix it before I get migraines....trying to compose e-mails in G-mail

I get the same problem since the recent software downloads on both my iMac and ibook and with wired & wireless keyboards
When I use the shift key while writing an email message the pointer goes up into the subject or address boxes.
This happens in both Mail & Gmail and the only way round it is to bring the curser back to the message box and hold caps lock & shift together.

Problems with LG Enact after software update to KitKat

After the update, I seem to have
1) Battery charging issues. Problems charging past 96% (or at least appears that way on the notifications bar on my phone). Have had to unplug and/or restart phone to complete the charge and sometimes it doesn't always work.
2) Slower 4G speeds. Often going down to 3G or 1X
3) Phone seems sluggish overall going from app to app and also when typing on the keyboard
4) Freezing when using wifi or phone data plan.
I've googled these problems and appears that other phones have been having one or more of these issues as well. Any ideas on how to fix these issues?

If you've googled, then you likely have seen some of the suggested "fixes". Have you tried:
1) Check your network settings - be sure it'[s set to LTE/CDMA - I've noticed that updates and resets on my phones tend to revert to Global which results in glitchy behavior, at least for me. Resetting to LTE/CDMA and restarting helps.
2) Run a system cache clear, it won't affect any of your data or setting but WILL clear up unused fuiles and processes that may be slowing things down and causing the sluggishness you see.
Performing a wipe cache partition removes any temporary files that may be causing an issue with the device. All personal files and settings are not affected by this option.
Power the device off.
Press and hold the Volume Up and Down button then press the Power button.
When presented with the Boot Mode Selection Menu, release all buttons.
Press Volume Down button to select 'Recovery' then press the Volume Up button.
From the Droid triage screen:
Press and hold the Volume down button.
Press and release the Volume up button.
Release the Volume down button.
Select wipe cache partition then press the Power button.
Use Volume keys to navigate options.
Select reboot system now then press the Power button.
Use Volume keys to navigate options.
3) FDR - Factory Data Reset - be sure all your contacts, photos, etc are backed up - if you use Google to store contacts and auto back up photos and music it should already be backed up. Once you do the reset, restore from Google, and selectively reinstall your apps. This is a last resort, but it can clear out a lot of accumulated gunk.

You are right, but how could i send it to Apple? when the phone company first replaced my iphone they had in stock alots of iphones and they just sent mine back to Apple and gave me a new one, so all i did is to give them my phone, but now how could i sent it to Apple? and i cant send it by myself, and the store wont do that, its a lost for them.. so sending it to Apple wasnt an option from the begining.
and for the record, i dont think the store where i bought it is an authorized shop.. its just a store who boughts phone's from Apple in a low price and sells it in much more money..
