Problems with passing parameters for WEB template in URL in NW2004s
Servus,
We have NW2004s, BI 7.0, SP9
does anybody know where do I make a mistake? There are 9 variables which the user has to fill out.
Passing the parameters in URL string for a web template like: http://server:50100/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fcom.sap.pct!2fplatform_add_ons!2fcom.sap.ip.bi!2fiViews!2fcom.sap.ip.bi.bex?TEMPLATE=TEMPLATENAME&var_name_1=ZvarX&var_value_ext_1=2000 ....
but this doesn't function, I get only the first variable screen and not what's set in my URL.
Is it a bug? Any suggestions?
Thank you very much
Standa
I solved it.
Solution:
URL Link "http://......./TEMPLATE=nameofthepage&TEMPLATE=nameofthepage
&VARIABLE_VARIANT=nameofthevariant"

The JDBC Driver being used in ojdbc6.jar. I am using this driver because I of its compatibility with Java 6 which is on my machine
The database I am connecting to is 10.2 (10g) Oracle database.
The connection works fine its the parsing of the SQL query that is giving the problem Below is the code specific to this
// never mind the syntax this is a JavaFX module and the query syntax doesn't use the '+' concats.

Problem while passing parameters for dashboard prompts in URL
Hi,
We have created a dashboard on OBI which has some dashboard prompts. We have a requirement that we shall open the dashboard from an external application. We are doing this by invoking an URL. We want the dashboard to turn with prompts already being applied.
I was trying to open the dashboard with the following URL
http://<servername:port>/analytics/saw.dll?Go&PortalPath=/shared/Procurement%20and%20Spend/_portal/Supplier%20Performance&Page=Overview
But when I use the above Go URL the dashboard is not coming up. It shows the following error
No Columns
The request cannot be performed because it contains no columns.
When I use the following URL(which has the keyword 'Dashboard' not 'Go') the Dashboard is coming up fine
http://<servername:port>/analytics/saw.dll?Dashboard&PortalPath=/shared/Procurement%20and%20Spend/_portal/Supplier%20Performance&Page=Overview
There are dashboard prompt defined in dashboard. When I try to send the filter value via URL(given below) it is not working. I just see the Dashboard coming up.
http://<servername:port>/analytics/saw.dll?Dashboard&NQUser=Administrator&NQPassword=SADMIN&PortalPath=/shared/Procurement%20and%20Spend/_portal/Supplier%20Performance&Page=Overview&P0=1&P1=eq&P2=Supplier."Supplier%20Name"&P3=1+AccessMicron
when we use the keyword Dashboard in the URL , can we pass the parameter for the dashboard proimpt ..? If we can do that .. how to do that ..? Is it the same manner that we do for Go URL. ..?
Please let me know if you need any more information on this.
Thanks in advance for your time,
Raj Kumar
Edited by: Raja Kumar on Jan 22, 2010 3:29 AMHi Raj,
Raghu is correct, you need the Action=Navigate to make prompts work, otherwise you get move to the target dashboard without prompts.
I think you figured it out your self, but the ?Go is for Answer Requests and ?Dashboard is for navigating to dashboards.
I would also recommend using col1="COLUMN_NAME" and val1=value syntax instead of the P0,P1, etc, etc. It's a little easier to read and implement.
Try this:
http://<servername:port>/analytics/saw.dll?Dashboard&Action=Navigate&NQUser=Administrator&NQPassword=SADMIN&PortalPath=/shared/Procurement%20and%20Spend/_portal/Supplier%20Performance&Page=Overview&col1=%22Supplier%22.%22Supplier%20Name%22&val1=1+AccessMicron
Good luck!
Best regards,

Problem with right click in web template
Hi,
i have this problem:
how can i do for that not appear Enterprise broadcaster when i push right click in the web template?
I only want that appear email broadcaster.
Best regards,
ConradoHi Conrado
In the WAD there is a web item called the CONTEXT_MENU, in the properties of this web item you can set what options are available when the mouse is right clicked in the Web Template, to remove Enterprise broadcaster just untick it in the properties.

Crystal Report - problem with passing parameters from J2EE app
i'm trying to pass a few parameters from my java application to a crystal report using the code below:
ParameterField pfield1 = new ParameterField();
ParameterField pfield2 = new ParameterField();
Values vals1 = new Values();
Values vals2 = new Values();
ParameterFieldDiscreteValue pfieldDV1 = new ParameterFieldDiscreteValue();
ParameterFieldDiscreteValue pfieldDV2 = new ParameterFieldDiscreteValue();
pfieldDV1.setValue("1056");//dform.getSelectedPeriod());
pfieldDV1.setDescription("termId");
vals1.add(pfieldDV1);
pfield1.setReportName("");
pfield1.setName("@p_termId");
pfield1.setCurrentValues(vals1);
fields.add(pfield1);
// check here for null condition otherwise will throw nullpointerexception
pfieldDV2.setValue("elect");
pfieldDV2.setDescription("allocType");
vals2.add(pfieldDV2);
pfield2.setReportName("");
pfield2.setName("@p_allocType");
pfield2.setCurrentValues(vals2);
fields.add(pfield2);
this report calls a stored procedure (sql server). the report displays the data but the same is not the case when i call ity from my java application. with a single parameter it works fine (even though i get a "Some parameters are missing values" ERROR on the console. But when i pass, say 2 parameters, it give me the above error first and then "JDBC Error: Parameter 2 not set or registered for output"
Can anyone bail me out of this one?
thanks,
ptalkadI don't know about naming conventions, but could the @ signs in the variable names cause a problem?
How have you set up the mapping in Crystal?
Is this parameter 2 an "out" parameter returning a value?
What version of Java are you using?

Problem with passing parameters from HTML
Im unsure as to where to turn next with this problem. What is making it all the more infuriating is that I have had this code working previously and now cant for the life of me figure out how I did it.
What Im trying to do is I have a HTML page with two buttons on, one called "Submit Application" and the other "Submit Resource" and when I click on one I want a JSP page to be called and a certain piece of SQL to be executed, likewise when I click on the other "Submit Application" button I want a separate bit of SQL to be executed. (I know in this example both bits of SQL are identical but that is just while I get the functionality correct).
Whats happening is that the first bit of SQL will execute if I click the "Submit Resource" button, however when I click the "Submit Application"
button I get a "Error 500:" displayed. Im at the end of my tether as to what to do next and as I say it makes it all the more infuriating in that I had it working before. So any help would be greatly appriciated.
The code is as follows, I have highlighted the two IF statements :-

if (!Subapp.equals (null))
Well, what happens if Subapp IS equal to null. The .equals method call will be called from a NULL and you will get a NullPointerException.
When testing for null you do:
if (Subapp == null) (or if (Subapp != null)
This is okay when dealing objects even with the mantra of 'don't use == to compare objects, because what you are really testing is if the reference points anywhere, and == will compare the reference.
Also, next time you post, make sure to use the [code] tags as described in the [Formatting Help] link. It will make it easier to read.
Also, you should try to remove the SQL from the JSP. Move it into a Servlet which builds a List that forwards to another JSP for display, or use a bean. Using java classes like Servlets and JavaBeans makes it easier to debug, and makes your JSP code easier to manage. -
Problem with exporting SWF for web - missing last 5 seconds
Hello everybody.
I´ve got this problem that when I render my animation everythings OK, but when I try to export it as SWF it doesn´t include last 5 seconds. There are only shapes & solids used in the animation (masks, scale etc.) so pretty simple stuff. Animation has 35 sec. Is there any time limit or do you have any ideas how to fix this? I checked rasterize all unsupported features that did nothing.
AE CS6
Thank´s a lot,
MarekThis could be a bunch of things. It could be that the last five seconds are using an effect that is not supported so it needs to be rasterized. Frankly, AE is a lousy, let me repeat that, lousy tool for creating SWF files. Your best option is to render a video compressed in the H.261 format and use Flash to embed that video in your SWF file. The SWF will load quicker, be smaller, play on more devices and be more professional. The project will still not be mobile compatible which, now days, means you're losing 60% of your audience.

Issue with filtering values in Web Template
I am facing a problem with filtering values in Web Template.
I have two queries based on two different data providers. One query is getting data from an Info set and the other from a Remote Cube. I have a single navigational block to filter values for both these queries but the change gets reflected only on the variable of one query. The other reflects no change and shows all the values irrespective of the filter condition.
I have tried the option of setting in the properties of the navigational block, affected data providers as both your data providers.But no effect.
Can a single navigational block be used to filter values on 2 queries which are built on different data providers? If yes, can someone please tell me how it is possible?
Kindly let me know how can I make the changes appear in both the queries?I am using SAP BI 3.5.
Thanks & Regards,
SuchitraHi Peng,
Frank also published a fix for 11g R1: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/tips/fnimphius/rc_expand_menu_on_mouse_over.html
function showMenu(event){
var adfRichMenu = event.getSource();
adfRichMenu.getPeer().show(null,true);
}This should work.

Problem with passing exception with declarative security
I am having a problem with passing exceptions with message security bunding enables. I have a JAXWS EJB 3.0 web service, The service defines methods which throw exceptions. The exceptions are passed correclty when there is no message security enabled. once the security is enabled and an exception is thrown, I get the stack trace below. Furthermore, the service with security enabled works fine as long as methods do not throw an exception. I am thinking that the JAXWS generated wrapped exception is not correctly handled by the message security provider in the server. Just a thought. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

|#]Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I read the weblog and posted a reply to it already.
History:
I actually have a web service where I have message level security enabled and it works great. I had some issues early on with descriptor but those are worked out. As I was testing, I created a test case that throws an exception. That is when I get the NAMESPACE_ERROR, jauth exceptions , etc.
Attempt to find issue:
Glassfish: V1 (glassfish-installer-9.0-b48.jar), jdk1.5.0_11
Code: EJB tech tip EJB30 web service
Security: message security, specified almost verbatim to how it is done in the link you mention.
Sample works fine until I modify the web service to throw an exception. Once I do that, I get the NAMESPACE_ERROR stack trace I posted in original message. The sample in the tech tip uses the embedded app-client.
Thanks for helping with this. -
Problems with passing arguments to app
Hi.
I have a litle problem with passing arguments. I create a dynamic jnlp file using jsp. This is my code:
<%
response.setContentType("application/x-java-jnlp-file");
String l = request.getParameter("login");
String p = request.getParameter("pass");
out.println("<?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"UTF-8\"?>");
out.println("<jnlp spec=\"1.0+\" codebase=\"http://212.244.104.27:8080/PzP_INSTALL/\" href=\"pzp.jsp\">");
out.println("<information>");
out.println("<title>xxx</title>");
out.println("<vendor>xxxx</vendor>");
out.println("<homepage href=\"main.jsp\"/>");
out.println("<description>text</description>");
out.println("<offline-allowed/>");
out.println("</information>");
out.println("<security>");
out.println("<all-permissions/>");
out.println("</security>");
out.println("<resources>");
out.println("<j2se version=\"1.4+\"/>");
out.println("<jar href=\"jars/pzp.jar\" main=\"true\" download=\"eager\"/>");
out.println("<jar href=\"jars/config.jar\" main=\"false\" download=\"eager\"/>");
out.println("<jar href=\"jars/commons-beanutils.jar\" main=\"false\" download=\"eager\"/>");

out.println("<application-desc main-class=\"aaa.bbb.ccc.MyClass\"/>");
out.println("</jnlp>");
%>My problem is when i have the href tag filled, the arguments that i passed equlas null, when i remove the href everything is ok besides that the app doesnt show in application manager and doesnt create an icon on the desktop.
out.println("<jnlp spec=\"1.0+\" codebase=\"http://62.89.104.27:8080/PzP_INSTALL/\" href=\"pzp.jsp\">");
Any help would be appreciated.Hello again.
Thanks for your replay but unfortunetly it doesnt work too :-(
I've tried to use the out.println statemants in the servlet instead of using a jsp page but the error is the same. Please look at my code and tell me if you can what could be wrong.
This is the error message:

Problem with Revision level for a Material
Hi All,
I have a problem with Revision Levels for a Material.
I want to know the Revision Level for a particular Material for BOM Creation.
Can anyone please let me know from which Table or Funtion Module can I get the Rev Level, once I pass MATNR (Material) and AENNR (Change Number).

Problem with passing dashboard prompts
Hi All,
I have a problem with passing dashboard prompts.
Scenario:
I have a report with country(column interaction),amount sold and two prompts.when the user selects the particular country, i need to navigate to other detailed dasboard with 2 prompts and country.
with the column interaction, am able to navigate to other dashboard with all the prompts only when the target dashboard prompts, defaults to presentation variable.
but when the user directly opens the target dashboard, i have to display the report with the default values which am not able to achieve.
All the prompts are customized prompts.
Any suggestions would be greatly helpful.
Thnx in AdvanceHi,
When you drill down, corresponding filter values get added to your report. So next time when you change the prompt values It does not give you proper data.
So before you change the prompt values, you comeback to the default report. and try changing the prompt values.
Otherwise you can do one thing, Do not enable drill in place for the report section. So when you try to drill down in the report, it takes you to the new page.
And in the main page even if you change prompt values, It will work perfectly.

Passing parameters to web based oracle forms
Hi,
How can I pass parameters from web page to oracle form applet? OR is there anyway i can know (within a form) if that form is run from a client/server or from web. This is just to set some parameters depending on the condition: client/server or web application.
thank youTo know if you are on the Web use the get_application_property built-in, check out the online help for it.
To pass parameters - if you are using the forms servlet you can pass parameters on the URL that calls your Forms application. -
Problems with error-page in web.xml and page caching
Having a few problems with error pages and web.xml with browsers caching the error pages and strange errors coming out of weblogic.servlet.intenal.WebAppServletContext
I'm trying to set a web app up so that all http errors and all exceptions are routed thruogh predefined resources. For now, I'm simply send 400 errors to 400.html and the ServletException, IOException and RuntimeException to respective html pages.
What I'm finding is that the error codes work fine but the exceptions are only be routed to the correct error page for the first call to the servlet after server restart.
So for example, I have my servlet throwing a ServletException as a test case. The weblogic server log shows that ServletException is thrown, and the correct error page for ServletExceptions is shown.
If I change the Servlet code to throw IOException in place of SevletException, the weblogic.log shows that IOExceptyion is being thrown (so the servlet has deployed successfully), however the Servletxception error page is shown on the browser.
I'm using IE6 and I've changed the setting such that a new page is requested every time using the tools-internet options-temp internet files-settings option to "check for new versions of stored pages: Every visit to the page".
Despite this, the servlet exception error page still appears.
If you clear the cache from the temp intenet files->delete files IE option, the correct errror page will be shown so it appears that the browser cache is being used after all.
everytime I delete the temp intenet files I get the correct error page on the first request after but then not after that.
I have implemented the service method for this test to throw the exceptions - does this make a differecne?
As a test, I have moved the imlpementation to the doGet method instead bu I now get a strange eror from weblogic comlpaining about an arrayOutOfBoundsException because eror codes in the web.xml are not supported! - see error above.
Any help is appreciatedAfter further investigation: -
There are no problems with error pages based on error codes, only error exceptions.
As a test case, I have a service method in a servlet throwing either one of the three exception types that servlets can throw (Runtime, Servlet & IO) the following rules apply. The exception to be thrown is hardcoded and is changed and the web app rebuilt each time. The correct web.xml has been deployed to the app server (checked through console). the webapp is being redeployed correctly - this can be seen in the weblogic log, where the correct exception is reported.
I am using WLS 8.1, Servlet 2.3, JDK 1.4.1_02
In all cases, the weblogic log reports that the servlet is throwing the exception as expected.
Despite having set error-page for exception javax.servlet.ServletException, the exceptions are diverted to the error page that has been set up for http error code 500
The error page for ServletException is therefore never reached.
I have the browser set to request pages every time it is asked.
Once the servlet has thrown an IOException, the only way to get the browser to report an IO or Runtime exception error-page is to clear the browser cache. Restarting the server has no effect.
Once the servlet has responded with ANY exception, it is not possible to get it to report a ServletException (which is incorrectly reported as a 500 anyway) unless the cache is cleared. Restarting the server has no effect.
In the case where the servlet throws ServletException, it has no root exception. The servlet 2.3 spec states that if ServletException is thrown but cannot be found in the error pages, the root excpetion will be extracted and the error page list traversed again. Knowing that the RuntimeException error page is correct shown when RuntimeException is throwm, I have nested this inside the ServletException, however error page for http error 500 is still shown.
I don't believe this is a WLS 8.1 problem, as the console shows that the correct exception is thrown each time. this is backed up by the fact that the correct exception page is thrown when the cache is cleared regardless of what exception was previousdly thrown by the servlet. This excludes ServletException which is always incorrectly thrown as a 500. -
