Problems with Photos and Fonts and Explorer
I am having problems with photos and fonts when my site is viewed on Explorer. The site is Ostyn-Newman.com The problems can both be seen on the start page -though they happen throughout the site. The photo is supposed to be only 30% opaque and it shows fine on Firefox or Safari, but Explorer viewers get the photo being used as wallpaper at 100% and this steps all over the text. Should I give up a using a photo as wallapaper?
Also the font I am using for "Ostyn-Newman Objects for Fine Homes" shows well in Firefox and Safari, but looks really bad on Explorer products. Should I just change the font? I am currently using Snell Roundhand.

Problem with Photo Elements 4 and Scanning
I have an HP Photosmart C-4180 All-In-One printer. I can print and scan. I can scan into the HP software or iPhoto but when I try to scan into Photoshop Elements, Photoshop closes down on me and the HP scanning software freezes. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Despite that adobe doc (which I take to mean, "Don't bug us if you have trouble, because we don't like supporting out of date versions"), PE 4 should be just fine in Leopard. It works for everyone I know who has tried it.
The problem may be your scanner plug-in. You might also try removing the Adobe TWAIN driver if you have a dedicated HP plug-in. You don't say which version of PE you have, but PE 1 and 2 are the only versions that totally don't work in Leopard.
Have you tried reinstalling the HP driver/plug-in, and are you sure you have the very latest available? -
A problem with this webpage caused Internet Explorer (IE9) to close and reopen the tab
I have IE9 (using 32-bit version) installed on a relatively new laptop with Windows 7 64-bit. Up until last weekend IE9 worked fine and Flash Player worked fine too.
At the weekend a webpage asked for Flash Player to be updated - which I did. Ever since then whenever I go to a webpage needing Flash Player I get the message "A problem with this webpage caused Internet Explorer to close and reopen the tab". This happens twice and then an IE9 error page.
I have read the discussions in here about the problems with Flash Player 10.3 and have tried the various solutions. I have updated to 10.3.181.16 having tried 15 and 14 previously. Same problem.
I have reset IE9. Same problem.
I have disabled all add-ons which stops the problem. If I enable just the Flash Player add-on then the problem recurs. Since there are so many webpages that use Flash I do not want to run my browser without this add-on running.
If I enable the add-on and run IE9 using software rendering instead of GPU rendering then I don't get the problem. However, this isn't exactly making the best use of the resources on my laptop.
This may well all be related to the 10.3 problems but no one seems to have mentioned having a problem with tabs closing and reopening so I thought I would post on here to check.

I think, however, you misunderstand the problem. IE9 does not reopen the tabs on just one website - it is doing this on every website that needs Flash Player. Therefore, running in Compatibility mode is not an option. In fact, because IE9 reopens the tabs so quickly and then ends up with an error page, I cannot even click the Compatibility button anyway.
I could use ActiveX filtering - true. All that this means is that Flash does not play on any of the websites. When I want to re-enable ActiveX for a particular website where I need to see the Flash Player item, this just triggers the error.
This problem also happened on .14, .15 and well as the current .16 version. It did not happen with the previous version of Flash Player that I had on the system (version 10.2 I think).
The fact is that either Flash Player or IE9 or both is/are broken. The two choices I am still left with are:
1. Use software rendering (which contradicts the latest advertisements for IE9 about unleashing the power of IE)
2. Use another browser - I have no problems with either Firefox or Chrome -
Hi have had problems with photo's and films going onto a 2010 Apple Classic mp3. Have managed to sort photo's but the films won't copy and comes up with message videos not copied cannot be played on this ipod

You could try creating an iPod version of the films.
Use CTRL and B to display the Menu bar shown above. Alternatively, use the ALT key, followed by the F key, the W key and finally the I (eye) key - that's (menu)/File/Create New Version/Create iPod or iPhone version. -
Hi, After I installed Mac Lion, I have problem with the tamil font while typing in Neo Office. Especially with the letters "e-Ex: தெ" and "ai-Ex:தை". Please help me I know its not bug from Apple It shd be some problem in neo.
Is your problem due to the keyboard or to NeoOffice Characters? You have to change probably the font. Not all fonts are supporting all Unicode sets. Which font you have in your NeoOffice set to write Tamil? Try with Arial Unicode MS for example.
Are the letter e-Ex and ai-Ex right in your posting? If they are right, how you inserted these letters in your posting? By copy and paste or by typing? If by typing, your question is related to NeoOffice. Probably you should reinstall or update NeoOffice? Or switch to OpenOffice?

IE11 Problem with Windows 8.1 and IIS 8.5
I have upgraded my computer from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1, 64bit and IIS 8.5 is installed on the upgraded machine. I am unable to view with IE11 the default page of the default website hosted on the local machine. The problem occurs with both
the desktop version of IE11 and the Windows 8 metro style version.
When Chrome is installed on the machine the page is visible but when using IE11 a "This page can't be displayed" message appears. The IIS Log Files reveal that it is receiving nothing from IE11. Other machines I have that have also been upgraded
to Windows 8.1 exhibit the same fault.
The strange thing is that when viewing pages on other networked machines exhibiting the same problem, you can see the pages on the remote machines but in all instances the local page cannot be viewed.
It appears that there is a problem with IE11. Uninstalling and reinstalling IE11 does not fix the problem.
Can anyone help me? Assitance with this problem would be most appreciated.Description

Wireless printing problems with 10.5.4 and Epson printers
Anyone else know about problems with Epson printers such as this no longer functioning wirelessly with bonjour once upgrade to 10.5.4? It appears they are not supporting this with a new driver yet?
At this time, Epson says they have no drivers for 10.5 and this specific printer but wondered if there are more general problems with 10.5.4 and bonjour with Epson or others?

MacBook Pro Mac OS X (10.5.4) Using Epson CX11-NF printerI have 5 computers-G4 PowerPC, two G4 12" laptops, G5 Mac Pro dual, Macbook Pro--with the older computers all running 10.4.11, the new ones 10.5.4. Until Friday, I was able to print with all of them to an Epson Stylus Photo R200 via Airport Extreme. After installing software for my new G3 iPhone on the G5 Mac Pro the printer connections on all the computers stopped working. I have so far been able to get the G4 Power PC to print, but none of the others. I have tried Bonjour, Gimp-print v.5.0.0-beta 2, cleared all the print drivers and restarted, and everything else I have been able to find on both Epson and Apple sites. The Printer Set Utility described by Epson does not exist in Leopard machines, and doesn't work for the older laptops. As soon as I select one of the printers in the "selected printer in print dialogue box" it grays out. I have set up sharing on the G4Power PC that does print, but it is not accessible--it shows up but is grayed out. There is a diamond next to the printers in the Print dialogue box in applications' menus, but it still doesn't work. It either cannot make the connection, cannot find the printer, or keeps spinning with the message that it is finishing printing (but it hasn't even started.) Again, everything worked fine until the new iPhone was added to the mix. My old iPhone didn't cause any problems. This is really a problem. Any suggestions welcome.

I downloaded a new version of firefox. It said it had problems with my norton toolbar and now it doesn't feature it in the window. I'm not that comp savvy. How do I either get the Norton toolbar up or go back to the old firefox? Thank you.

After having yet another problem with my MacBook Pro and having to wipe the drive, I am now unable to sync my iPhones etc without erasing all the music on them. Is there a way around this? I have no other library!

Why not simply make a playlist with the songs you want on the iPhone?

I tried downloading a free app and it asked for my billing information and when I entered it, it said that there was a billing problem with a previous purchase and I have to update it. I keep updating it and it wont let me verify it and I cant get any apps even if they are free, and I just Deleted some apps to make room for my new upate!

Communication problem with Adobe 9.0 and HP Printer when I scan
I'm having a problem getting a .pdf file to come up when I scan from a HP 5610 All-in-one printer. Have uninstalled and reinstalled HP software three times but when I scan and want a pdf file it won't communicate with Adobe 9.0 reader for some reason. Is there a setting in Adobe reader that's a problem?

I�m using VAJ 4.0. and I�m doing normal GUI application. I have next problem.
I have in the same class two jswing buttons named start (ivjGStart) and stop (ivjGStop) and private static int field named Status where initial value is 0. This buttons should work something like this:
When I click on start button it must do next:
Start button must set disenabled and Stop button must set enabled and selected. Field status is set to 1, because this is a condition in next procedure in some loop. And then procedure named IzvajajNeprekinjeno() is invoked.
And when I click on stop button it must do next:
Start button must set enabled and selected and Stop button must set disenabled.
Field status is set to 0.
This works everything fine without loop �do .. while� inside the procedure IzvajajNeprekinjeno(). But when used this loop the start button all the time stay (like) pressed. And this means that a can�t stop my loop.

TomiThis is a multi thread problem. When you start the gui, it is running in one thread. Lets call that GUI_Thread so we know what we are talking about.
Since java is task-based this will happen if you do like this:
1. Button "Start" is pressed. Thread running: GUI_Thread
2. Event gStart_ActionEvents() called. Thread running: GUI_Thread
3. Method IzvajajNeprekinjeno() called. Thread running: GUI_Thread
4. Sleep in method IzvajajNeprekinjeno() on thread GUI_Thread
5. Call PreberiDat(). Thread running: GUI_Thread
6. Check status. If == 1, go tho 4. Thread running: GUI_Thread.
Since the method IzvajajNeprekinjeno() (what does that mean?) and the GUI is running in the same thread and the event that the Start button has thrown isn't done yet, the program will go on in the IzvajajNeprekinjeno() method forever and never let you press the Stop-button.
What you have to do is do put either the GUI in a thread of its own or start a new thread that will do the task of the IzvajajNeprekinjeno() method.

So, in iTunes, when you look at the shuffle's content (in the sidebar) and click on the playlist under the shuffle, over to the right, the songs are in your desired order, correct? Where do you look, or what do you do, that indicates the playlists are in alphabetical order? Are you saying that when you play the songs while using the shuffle, they play in alphabetical order?
If so, when you listen to the songs on the shuffle, are you using the playlist, or are you using the All Songs list? If you are in the default All Songs list, with the shuffle's power switch set to play-in-order (the middle position), the songs play alphabetically, I believe.
The 3rd gen shuffle uses VoiceOver. If you are in the All Songs list, you need to use VoiceOver to switch to the playlist (see manual linked below for details). When you are in the playlist (with the shuffle's power switch set to play-in-order), then the songs should play in playlist order.
