Problems with photos attached to a mail

Normally a photo attached to a mail arrives at the addressee as a separate file which can be detached and stored separately.
Since a couple of days it does not work this way, when I use the Apple mail program to send messages from my iMac (OSX 10.5.3). Now they are embedded into the mail as very large pictures. I think there must be something wrong with the settings of mail.
Does anybody know what I can do in order to get back the "normal" state?

Ich vermute der Bug ist hineinoperiert worden beim Fixing eines anderen Bugs, auf den ich schon vor über einem halben Jahr in diesem Forum aufmerksam machte: seit 10.5.1 oder 10.5.2 (die kamen ja beide sehr schnell hintereinander) konnte man nicht mehr zeitgesteuert (aus den Systemeinstellungen, Energie sparen) den Ruhezustand der Festplatte anfahren. Ich habe elend lange herumexperimentiert, um herauszufinden, ob der Fehler eventuell bei meinen Macs lag. Die Ratschläge, die ich aus dem Forum bekam, waren allesamt Blödsinn. Und Apple sitzt offenbar auf einem so hohen Ross, dass die es nicht für nötig hielten, auf meinen Hilferuf im Forum zu reagieren. Gelesen hat es wohl doch einer von denen, denn als ich im Zuge dieses Schriftverkehrs aus meinem Unmut heraus eine entsprechende Bemerkung loließ, war da sofort einer, dem der Schuh offenbar passte. Der fühlte sich nämlich befleißigt, mich darüber aufzuklären, dass das Forum der Hilfe von User zu User diene und die Apple-Leute in der Regel die Beiträge nicht lesen würden. Zum Abschluss des Posts (mit 10.5.3 war der Bug nämlich behoben, und in einer Notiz im Kleingedruckten vor dem Herunterladen des updates stand ein Hinweis, dass ein Fehler im Mailprogramm daran schuld war) habe ich dann nochmal einen Hieb auf Apple ausgeteilt, und gleich war der selbe zur Stelle, um sein Statement (s. oben) zu wiederholen.
Es wäre doch schön, wenn die mal zugeben könnten, dass hier ein Fehler von Apple vorlag, bevor man wie doof im eigenen Kram nach möglichen Fehlern sucht.
Eine Hotline zur Meldung von Bugs habe ich bei Apple bisher vergeblich gesucht.
Sogar Microsoft hat so was...
(Hoffentlich hat das jetzt auch einer von denen gelesen - und verstanden!)

If you purchased about 2 years ago new I am sure it is a Intel iMac. To find out what type of iMac you have just click on the Apple menu item in the finder and select about this Mac. I would check the ISP mail site and get the correct outgoing mail server info.

Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

I don't know how rare this is. I went a week or so without a problem, and now it's starting to recur. Also, in some instances, an email will look unsent (remain in the outbox on the Treo), but it has been sent, and recipients are replying while I'm trying to figure out what is going on. Further, it will send the same email over and over during this madness.
This is a show stopper. If there isn't a software fix soon, I may chuck this phone in the garbage.

UPDATE: The problem comes and goes. The next day, no changes to the treo, everything workeds. Now i'm suspecting the sprint server, and how it/the phone responds from failing to send while roaming. I've since turned off roaming, and haven't had a problem for several days.

Self explanatory.
You could try creating an iPod version of the films.
Use CTRL and B to display the Menu bar shown above. Alternatively, use the ALT key, followed by the F key, the W key and finally the I (eye) key - that's (menu)/File/Create New Version/Create iPod or iPhone version.

Problems with Photos and Fonts and Explorer

I am having problems with photos and fonts when my site is viewed on Explorer. The site is Ostyn-Newman.com The problems can both be seen on the start page -though they happen throughout the site. The photo is supposed to be only 30% opaque and it shows fine on Firefox or Safari, but Explorer viewers get the photo being used as wallpaper at 100% and this steps all over the text. Should I give up a using a photo as wallapaper?
Also the font I am using for "Ostyn-Newman Objects for Fine Homes" shows well in Firefox and Safari, but looks really bad on Explorer products. Should I just change the font? I am currently using Snell Roundhand.

The message in each is pretty much the same but he does give some info of an application that can optimize the web pages to make them more readily readable by IE.

How do I resize photo attachment in icloud mail. The resize button does not appear as it did before.

Using iCloud mail online via a browser does not offer the option to resize the photo. It's only available when emailing from iPhoto so iPhoto can do the resizing as it adds the image to the email. Safari or whatever browser you're using doesn't have that capability.

Final Cut Pro 6.0.3 Problem with Photo JPG Codec ?

I have been working with music videos for several years using FCP 5.x and photo-jpeg codec, everything works fine. As time going by now I have updated my FCP using 6.0.3 with hopes to get better features. But unfortunately FCP 6 has problem with photo-jpeg codec. The problem is when I load a photo-jpeg video, the gamma will changes every time the playback head is start or stop. And I can't using video transition (standard cross-dissolve) anymore because the video gamma also change at the in transition and out transition. It also appear in my video monitor and output file ! I have searching all day to find out what is exactly the problem, but never get the solution. Should i come back to FCP 5.x ? Is it a BUGS or what ? What happen with Apple, why they let this happened ?
For information the video is in SD PAL & captured using Blackmagic Decklink card.

I believe this has to do with using YUV or RGB as the rendering method. RT is always RGB, but try changing the setting for your timeline to whatever it is not now...

MacMail reply problem with 10.10.1 and Mail 8.1.

Environment is OS X 10.10.1
Mail 8.1 (1993) which came with Yosemite.
When I reply to email, Mail can't link the original message with the response.
The reply is in the "Sent" folder as it should be and the Message Viewer has the reply arrow
in the right place.
However, when I click on the reply arrow, I get an Error message that says
"Mail was unable to find your reply to the message “test reply”. You may have deleted the message."
No problem until Yosemite. Painful problem since I'd like to see what I said in email responses without
scanning the Sent Mail folder.
I haven't found this problem with the other numerous Yosemite Mail discussions.
Anyone see this ?

I have the same problem on two separate MacBook Pros. Have rebuilt mailboxes to no avail. Others have had the same problem - see: https://discussions.apple.com/message/22448092 Unfortunately, someone posted a solution that worked for old mail but not new mail. That led to someone marking the problem as solved. I have not found a solution yet. Really a pain in the neck not being able to find responses.
Incidentally, after following the procedure in the link above I have ended up with multiple files named Envelope Index... And the problem reemerged with old email and following the procedure above a second time has created more problems because the find reply is not fixed for any mail now and I cannot rebuild my inbox, I seem to have to rebuild each folder individually. So be cautious in messing with your Envelope Index files.

You didnt say whether this is 6.1 or 6.0, but if 6.1, make sure the domain user you have set in SetupAssistant for DRL Service has access and is using the correct password to the file share where the files are stored.
If 6.0 the user and password are in the environmentvaribales.config file.

Hidden Photo attaching to ALL emails end with photos attached

Hi. Every time I send an email with photos attached, an additional photo (always the same one) always attaches itself, too. You cannot see it as an attachment at the bottom of the email, however, when the recipient opens the pictures and clicks to view the next photo, etc., this one particular photo always shows up at the end. I can no longer send business related photos, because this personal family photo always attaches itself. Can anyone help me? Thanks!

Can you see this hidden photo in the catalog? Try attaching a tag to this photo and a different tag(Tag2) to the photos you want to send. Search for the 2nd tag(tag 2) and when the results are displayed, select all these photos and send an email to yourself to see if the hidden photo is still getting attached. This should not be happening but please see if the above steps make any difference.

Problem with Photo Booth backdrops

In addition to the problem of the first page effects constantly cycling, I now discovered a serious problem when trying to use backdrops. After I select the backdrop I want to use, it will appear in the main window, but it will not place my picture in the backdrop. In addition, it will merely flash the "please step out of the frame" message for a split second and then immediately say "backdrop detected." When I then snap the photo, all I get is the backdrop. I have deleted the .plist file, but that did not help. I had previously uninstalled and reinstalled the application, but the problem persists. Has anyone else experienced this problem, and, if so, have you found a solution?

I thought this issue had died and passed into oblivion. Either no one has an answer, or no one gives a ****,or both. Certainly not Apple. I seem to remember sending feedback to Apple long ago, but I never received a response. I just went to the feedback page and there isn't even a Photo Booth app. showing through which to submit feedback. Checking some of the other threads on this issue, it appears that this problem with Photo Booth has existed for quite some time, and there was a problem with placing iChat backdrops too. It seems that this app. is such a piece of crap that Apple will no longer support it. I can't understand why they continue to include it as part of the OS.
For what it is worth: I was recently at the Apple store and out of curiosity tried the app. on a MacBook Air. It (the app.) was so unstable that I didn't even bother to try to set a backdrop. I've lived without Photo Booth until now, so I guess I can continue to exist without it.
By the way: I didn't insert the asterisks. I typed d a m n, and the system inserted the ****. Interesting.
