Problems with POP email

I run three email accounts on one mac - a yahoo, a BT and a fsnet (now owned by orange). They all send and collect via a BT DSL Broadband. Worked fine till I installed snow leopard. Since then the yahoo and BT seem to get email, the fsnet only occasional mails. BUT the system has been set to delete from the server which it has done so my server thinks I've picked up my mail and deleted it! Is my mail lost and how can I fix Mail? I've tried deleting RSS feeds and changing socket settings to 25. At the moment the socket settings are 110 to make it work and nothing works if I change it to 25 - endless spinning wheel. Any ideas?

I don't know what to say - it seems to pick up occasional mail and I don't have any problem sending mail. My husband has been emailing me like mad but nothing received and nothing on the server. Nor emails I know have been sent from other people.The problem seems to be with Mail. I didn't change anything after installing Snow Leopard - it did its updating thing and seemed to work ok but I've only just worked out that things are disappearing. Let me know if there are other things you need.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

Print problem with Yahoo email

Ever since upgrading to Safari Version 7.0.1 (9537.73.11), I have had several different problems with printing emails. For the time being, let me ask here about only my AT&T Yahoo mail.
Here is the description of the problem in Yahoo. When I pull down the “Actions” menu to “Print Message,” I get this dialog box:

There was a problem printing, most likely caused by a pop-up blocker. Please click Try Again.

So I click the button labeled “Try Again,” and Safari opens the email in a new window with a “Print” tool in the upper left corner.
I click the “Print” tool. With multi-page emails, I like printing on both sides. I choose either,
Print Two-sided, or
Print either odd or even pages.
With the former option Safari prints one page of the email and stalls. With the latter Safari prints the whole series of selected pages and stalls. My printer (HP LaserJet Professional P1102w) refuses to print any more pages. I have to go into my printer’s application and stop the print job. Then I have to turn off the printer, wait a while for the machine to re-set, and turn it back on. Then I can print the remaining page or pages.
That’s inefficient. Is there some remedy to get Safari to print emails in Yahoo straight through?

Problems like that with Firefox printing look like they are fixed in Firefox 4.

Problems with incoming emails

After going through tons of support discussions and trying all that i could i would like to ask your help guys.
As header suggests im having problems with incoming emails on mac mail (4.6) (outgoing mails are working perfectly)
Yesterday evening i noticed that i cant receive emails (wheel just kept spinning without downloading anything but webmail and my phone mail app show that there are tons of unread emails)
Today around 10AM it worked for second (after messing around with settings (which i did not touched again) but when came back from lunch --- ***** not working again)
I checked that i have correct incoming & outgoing server names, correct passwords and all other settings like SSL (port995) are ok.
Confirmed from my Email Service Provider that their servers, my quota etc are working propperly
Mac mail Connection doctor does not show any red lights so it is ok
Someone said that "unable to load" can be caused by "corrupted" email and i should Rebuild my mailbox to see if if might show what message is f*** up. => did that and it just stays in "Fetching new email" and below reads "preparing to retrieve messages" and again nothing.
I tried to make new account in Mac mail client and it is not helping ... same thing Nothing.
I tried to install thunderbird and create new account in there, got it to work for first time i tried but result was the same ... it only downloaded some messages and stopped working.
Previously when i used to launch mac mail app on my laptop it always asked "do you want to connect to this server bla bla bla" => click ok and it downloaded everything but now i dont even get that pop-up message. (i think it disappeared after making account in thunderbird client and clicking "always trust" which did not help as it is still not downloading)
I would really appreciate your help cos im going mad with this problem and i cant get any help from my ESP
PS. im using POP settings.

Just remembered that i took printscreen from thunderbirds error when first attempted to set up new account. And now when looking at this it is the same message that i got every time when launching mac mail client. But as said this error went away after clicking "allways trust" (it does show my ESP name and due date is sept.2013")
And error message was
"Mail cant varify the identity of "autodiscover."mydomain"......".
The certificate for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be "autodiscover....."

What is going on with POP email? I can NOT retrieve email unless*...I reboot AND reset!* I POP 3 Comcast emails and my own URL email. Never any problems on Entourage. Hourly issues with my new iPhone—and it's only been 4 days.
This is *unbelievably frustrating* and negates why I got the dang thing in the first place.
Does anyone have a work around? Is this a known bug (Apple) or am I missing something?
+*Plus as a side note I think there are too many clicks into the In Box. Just a usability thing I wish I could set myself.+

I have the same problem intermittently... Every so often, the iPhone goes into a mode where email just doesn't work until i shut down and reboot... Then it works fine...
Its not always the case, but I can't isolate the scenario which causes it to go into this weird mode...

Problems with Charter Email Servers Made Me Think iOS5 Was Faulty

Just a little heads up here for someone who has been having problems with their Charter email accounts not pulling email to their iphones.
I decided to install iOS5 last weekend and my phone was being very irratic in pulling email from my Charter account starting a few days ago. Before calling Charter this morning I decided to delete the Charter account from my iphone and re-add it. I kept running into problems when trying to put in the exact same information that was there for the servers. I called Charter Tech Support and they kept blaming Apple.
So after some Googling I came with this posted yesterday.................
I have just spent a couple of hours with Charter Tech Support tracing a problem with their email POP settings. Many people had been using mail.charterinternet.com and smtp.charterinternet.com as a POP account in their settings. This server was decommissioned on Wednesday, 10/26/2011. These settings no longer work.
Charter advises on their website that you set the email up as an IMAP account and use mobile.charter.net. These settings work for me EXCEPT there is no option to leave the email on the server. If you check your email on your phone with these settings, the email will be deleted from the server.
Charter is aware of this issue, and are planning to make changes to allow people to connect via POP to Charter to get their email. I will post a response here as soon as they call me back with the settings.

I'm confused, how can it be a violation of Terms of Service to state problems I'm having with an App and concerns that it could be a scam? Surely it should be the other way round - that they have some kind of TOS to follow that stops them doing this!?
Like I said, I've tried contacting the developer and they aren't interested...I've also left negative feedback, but that achieves nothing. I've complained direct to Apple/iTunes, but they just refer me back to the developer.
I'll delete the contents of my original post as I don't want to get my account shut down if it is a breach of TOS, but that seems crazy and just gagging people who are trying to raise concerns I wasn't just ranting though, I was trying to find out how many other people are in the same boat as me - in the hope that if everyone gets together and complains then maybe something will be done!
Seems mad that developers can get away with doing whatever they like and I'm not allowed to even talk about it.

Background: I recently (December) bought an ipad and set up icloud for contacts and calendar, but NOT mail. My email provider is Verizon. I use computer, iphone, and ipad to check my email; eventually I download it from the server using Outlook on the computer and then delete any remaining emails from the phone and ipad. I can't find info on this problem anywhere.

It sounds like your iPad all of a sudden seems to be restarting out of no where. If you haven't called AppleCare yet, I would start with quitting either the app that seems to be causing the issue, or all the apps if a single doesn't seem to be the culprit.
iOS: Force an app to close
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
If the issue persists, backup your device to iTunes, then restore it as new and verify that it works.
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups
If it does, then restore your backup to either verify it still works and the software just needed reinstalled, or isolate the issue to the backup file itself.

Hi, one question & one suggestion...
What possible things are connected at home but not at the store, inlude every cable, etc.
One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport, or some USB or Firewire device, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

I think i've downloaded something bad affecting my web browsers. I keep on getting bumped to new tabs with "junk" sites. I'm having problems with pop-ups now too. HELP!

While on Safari, or Google Chrome and I click on a story or any where on the page for that matter, and I get bumped to a new tab with a junk site telling me to check my Mac or sign-up for streaming video. MacKeeper, Mac-Messages, Tuneupmymac, DetoxifymyMac, YourmediaHQ, Streamnowmovies, dtv4pc, etc. I also now have a problem with pop-ups which I didn't have before. While shopping on-line now I keep getting pop-ups giving me alternative prices on the same or similar items that I am browsing. I have my pop-up blocker activated, but these are still coming through. Is there any way to clean-up, fix, or block these sites that keep interfering with my internet time? IT'S MAKING ME CRAZY!

Ongoing problem with newsletter-eMail-actions: CF is hanging

newsletter-eMail-actions.
We use CFMX 7.02 Entperprise on Win 2003 Server. (between
100.000 and 200.000 receivers).

In the highest hours we have between 80 and 200 current
users/connections
per second. We are running two HP 380, 3 GB, CF-Servers in a
static loadsharing.
From time to time CF gets unresponsive and I don't know why.
We use fusion reactor and there are no long running requests

what I have seen, when CF is hanging. There is nothing in the
logfiles which is obvious to what it could
be related what is casing it. Does anybody have any idea what

Problem with push email key and adding mailbox

There seems to be a strange problem with the email key. I added my gmail account initially but then i deleted it. I don't see any mailbox in the email setup, but i still receive notification on recieving a new email. But when I press the push email key on the home screen to open my inbox, it takes me to the email setup. I tried adding a mailbox, but when i select "add mailbox" the screen becomes whitish and nothing happens.
I need to add my gmail account again. Please help me with this. Thanks!

1. Predictive text can only be enabled in alphanumeric keypad, but from testing the QuickOffice 6 on the 5800 (same app used for both phones), It cannot use predictive text. Its not in the typing options. Furthermore, if you would be using the qwerty keyboard on the mini, predictive text AFAIK cannot be used.
2. If using "vodaphone live" is giving an error in ALL applications, then it is not the fault of your phone but of the "vodaphone live" settings not being compatible to your phone. I assumed that it was only for email that it did not work. A similar case was one on T-mobile, wherein the T-mobile GPRS settings were incorrect which leads to the same issue as you do. The fix was to configure GPRS settings manually. You can also take it to vodaphone for them to configure it themselves.
3. As I said, unless we find out what is different from the files that can play and cannot I cannot help you. Its not like I can check the files themselves. You can try attaching two each of the working files and non working files here for some of us to test on our phones.

Problem with IMAP email in E52

I have that problem with the email on my E52 v034.001:
I am using my personal email (Gmail via IMAP) and it is working fine, on this one I am receiving few emails a day.
When I am trying to set up my company's email, all the settings are ok, receives emails and then just hangs up, frozes. Sometimes even for like 10 miutes! I can always click on "hang up" button, and it goes back to home screen, but then again it ignores me when i want to go to menu or email for at least 10-15minutes. Then I'm going back to email when it's fine, opening it, it connects and then after few seconds crashes again. Every time I go near email it crashes. I went to settings, i wanted to get my companys email preview on to my homescreen, i just higlighted "email" field and it crashed.
Tested couple of different emails (POP3, IMAP, Exchange) and all of them are working fine. It's this particular one which i am having problems with, and i have no idea why is it happening. My workmates are using blackberries and iphones and it's working fine for them.
Did any of you hear about something like that?

I can confirm that this bug was fixed with version 054.003 (15-Jan-2011).

When I send email using a mailing list, with my email included in the list, the message shows up in my Sent list and others receive it but it does not come to my email Inbox. The same problem occurs when I send the email to the mailing list addresses individually. When I send a simple test message to myself, I do receive it in my Inbox. Can you help me??

Are you using either cc or bcc? Is googlemail involved? Some email providers suppress cc's and bcc's to oneself since you will have a copy in your Sent folder.

Problem with creating email account on E72

I have bought E72 and want to use mine company email - but there is a problem with creating email account in mail program.
Restoring to fabric settings doesn't works.
When I'm creating Gmail account it's OK, but phone doesnt want to cooperate with other accouns:/

Try again without using WLAN. I had same problem, but solved it using GPRS.
