Problems with query that uses date as filter .
I have an application and it's have a form automatically generated by Apex, through a View. That view use instead of triggers to update , insert and delete, because the view use many tables..
But always that I run a query using filters, setting a period of date, some dates show data, but the majority not, even if they have data on the database.
I even looked for the datas in the table on Object's Browser and filter by the dates that has the problem and they showed the values registered on these dates.
But I don't have a idea why it doesn't show these values when I run the query.
Exemple of query used : select * from coresp where data_2 between '22/05/09' and '22/05/09';
this query return two lines, but in object's browser return more than 100 lines .

Hi,
You need to make sure that SQL knows that these are dates by using the TO_DATE() function:
select * from coresp where data_2 between TO_DATE('22/05/09','DD/MM/YY') and TO_DATE('22/05/09','DD/MM/YY')Andy

Problems with StoredProcedures that use INSERT/DELETE statements
Hello
I am using Hyperion Intelligence explorer 8.5, and the database source is a MS SQL Server 2000 source connected via ODBC.
I have this problem: when I use, in a Query section, a stored procedure that (in its code) uses only SELECT statements I get the result of the query in the Results section, but when I use a storedprocedure that does some work (and executes INSERT or DELETE or other SQL statements) and ends executing a SELECT statement in order to return data to the caller Hyperion hangs.
I mean: first I select the stored procedure (Query\StoredProcedure... menù, than I start it using the Process command in Hyperion.
If the storedproc contains only SELECT statements I get the results, but if it contains INSERT or DELETE (and the last statement is a SELECT) Hyperion does not return any data and if I try to repeat the Process command I get an error that tells "the connection is busy with results from another hstmt".
Before you ask me if the stored procedure works correctly, I can confirm this because the storedproc was tested and returns the correct data if used with the db manager application.
Any suggestions? Did you ever use (successfully )storedprocedures that process data (by INSERT or DELETE statements) and then return the result with a SELECT statement?
Thank you for your helpHi Chris,
Could you please tell us in which version of IR
Hyperion is not going to support Stored
Procedures....
Regards,
ManmohanManmohan,
Did you even read what I just wrote? This is NOT happening. Stroed Procedures are an important part of the Intelligence Product, Oracle is continuing to enhance and support this functionality. I work for Oracle, I worked for Hyperion, and for Brio before that, so believe me when I tell you this.
Chris (whoever he is) is gving out incorrect information in this regard. His suggestion of the workaround for the original issue is completely accurate, but as I added, it was in issue that has been corrected as of 8.5 Service Pack 2, so even the workaround is not required as long as you've upgraded. (Note that some versions of 9.x also will require the workaround due to the timing of the releases overlapping.)
Thanks.

Problem with Bar Chart using Date Data
I am trying to make a simple horizontal bar chart as a Gantt chart. I am trying to set the min and max for the X axis but it is acting strangely. As you can see in the screenshot below, I set the min to 1/1/2000 but the chart uses 9/28/2011. Similar problem with the max setting. Am I doing something wrong here? Can anyone duplicate this? Anyone have a solution other than this workaround I am now using (which I assume will break my chart once Apple fixes this problem)?
BadUnit,
I assume Numbers, like me, is confused why you would set min/max limits that do not include the data?
I do get the same result as you when I enter the time range for the chart as 1/1/2000 thru 1/1/2004.
I even tried making a separate table for the chart:
There is definitley a problem.
When I enter, what I think are reasonable, min and max dates for the chart
min = 1/1/2013
max = 12/31/2015
The chart adjusts like this: -
Problem with Exception Worksheet using Data from Supply Plan Data Table
I added a series for a flag that indicates whether product is sourced from multiple manufacturing sites for a given customer and item. The flag is on the supply plan data table because it depends on the scenario. I created an exception worksheet for when the flag is set but all combinations are being displayed. If the flag is not set for a given combo then "Selected Page Item has No Data" is displayed in place of the table. I want only the combinations that meet the exception to be shown. I tried setting up an exception worksheet for customer shipments which is also on the supply plan data table but saw the same issue with all combinations being displayed whether or not the condition is met. Does anyone know of any issues with using exception worksheets with the supply plan data table? I searched the documentation and saw that exceptions behave differently with promotion series but this isn't a promotion.
I'm using Demantra version 7.2. Thanks for any help!
Edited by: user9253208 on Mar 30, 2010 6:40 AMThanks. We have come up with a workaround. While the combinations on the left are not affected by the exception, the data in the main table is so we moved as many levels as possible into the table. The performance is slow but the data is more useful, especially when exported into Excel. I was hoping for a better solution but I guess we'll just have to stick with what we've come up with.

Problems with chart when using dates as data
When i try to create a chart with dates in column a, formated as 1/20/06, and temperatures in column b, the results is a chart missing the x axis dates (there are only tick marks) and the y axis does not list temperatures but instead lists dates (but with replicating dates and dates that are not listed in column a). How do i force the chart to display the selected data?
iMac, 17, 800mhz, G4 Mac OS X (10.3.9)Hello
It seems that it is perfectly normal.
Dates are treated as numbers.
Here is a simple sheet whose row 1 is empty.
A2 contains: 31/12/1943 3 =A2 -> 14609
A3 contains: 01/01/2006 2 =A3 -> 37256
A4 contains: 10/10/2010 4 =A4 -> 38999
A6 contains: 10000 =DATETOTEXT(A6,0) -> 19/05/1931
A7 contains: 20000 =DATETOTEXT(A7,0) -> 04/10/1958
A8 contains: 30000 =DATETOTEXT(A8,0) -> 19/02/1986
A9 contains: 40000 =DATETOTEXT(A9,0) -> 07/07/2013
I am quite sure that the dates you see on the axis are those corresponding to number 0, 10000, 20000, 30000, 40000.

Several problems with iPod that used to work fine PLEASE HELP
First, the iPod is a 5th gen 30 gig video and I have an IBM Thinkpad T43 with xp pro. I have had it a few years and i have had zero problems until recently. Now when I try to sync the iPod, my laptop immediately shuts off going completely black and the loading lights along with the lights for caps lock and num lock flash until i remove the iPod. Then the lights stop flashing and the computer reboots. Thus it is impossible for me to sync. Another recent problem that i have is that I can no longer listen to music while charging the iPod with a wall charger. While the wall charger is plugged in, the iPod constantly says that the battery power is too low, even on a full battery. Once I unplug the charger, the iPod works fine again. Any help I can get would be awesome. Thanks.

Need help with query that uses 'SELECT INTO'
Hi guys,
I am trying to duplicate the values of a table to another by using the script below:
ACCEPT TBSNAME CHAR PROMPT 'Tablespace name>'
PROMPT Connect As System
Connect system
CREATE TABLE FREESPACE
TABLESPACE_NAME VARCHAR(20) NOT NULL,
CONSTRAINT FREESPACE_PKEY PRIMARY KEY(TABLESPACE_NAME),
TOTAL_FREE_STORAGE NUMBER(10) NOT NULL
) TABLESPACE USERS;
SELECT TABLESPACE_NAME,
SUM(BLOCKS) TOTBLOCKS
INTO FREESPACE
FROM SYS.DBA_FREE_SPACE
WHERE TABLESPACE_NAME = UPPER('&TBSNAME')
GROUP BY TABLESPACE_NAME;
However, when I execute this script, I was prompted with the 'missing keyword' error which happens at the third line of the select statment. Any idea what's missing here?
Thanks in advance.If you mean "fill up the table FREESPACE" by using "select...into..." then it is totally wrong. You cannot do it in plsql also.
Use this:
insert into freespace(tablespace_name,total_free_storage)
SELECT TABLESPACE_NAME,SUM(BLOCKS) TOTBLOCKS
FROM SYS.DBA_FREE_SPACE
WHERE TABLESPACE_NAME = UPPER('&TBSNAME')
GROUP BY TABLESPACE_NAME;

I have been a loyal customer for years and have a hot spot because internet options are very limited in our rural area. I have stayed with 10G since the beginning. Most months I don't use the 10G. Verizon has no problem with me paying for Data I don't use. This month my daughter comes home from College and she accidentally uses 24G.....14 over get blind sided with $140.00 in overages. I called Verizon today......stopped in to the store today......My neighbor told me they waved charges for her one time. Lots of charges.....But I'm am getting no help. Not even an offer of a payment plan to help me out. I went back just 6 months and I have over paid for 19G.....Seems like they would like to help out their loyal customers!!!! Does anybody have any suggestions on how to deal with them? We are not wealthy....or I would just pay this and walk away......
There is a big misconception in what customers believe a cell carrier is obligated to do.
You pay a set price to use up to that amount of xx data. It makes no difference if you use it to the paid limit or way under. Its like peace of mind when you don't have to worry about a data counter.
Your daughter used the data, your plan is quite clear of what overage charges are. Why should or would Verizon wireless just forgive the charges because you are a customer? Your daughter used the data, get the money from her. That is the responsible thing to do.
There is no "I have been a loyal customer so please remove the $120, or $250, or $2,000.00 since I did not mean to use it"
Your electric company, or gas company or any other company does not remove valid charges. Why should Verizon wireless?
Just pay the invoice and don't think you are being mistreated because Verizon is a business and not a charity.

CS 4 Dynamic Link to Encore doesn't work most of the time. Encore stops operating after opening and periodically Premier Pro stops working. I'm told that there has been a problem with CS4 when using Dynamic Link to go to Encore and build CD's. Is there a way around this? Is there a patch to correct it?
To build CD's???
What problem does Encore have with DL?
If DL is not working properly for you the way around this is to export from Premiere to either mpeg2-dvd for DVD or BluRay H.264 for BD-disks and import the files in Encore. -

View with columns based on function - problem with query
Hi,
I'm using Oracle 9i;
I've created a view which has columns based on a table columns (multiple columns from 1 table) and funtion (multiple columns based on 1 function).
The function takes ID as the first argument and name of the column to determine which value to return as the second one.
Here is a sample of such function (simplified):
FUNCTION my_function
(in_id IN NUMBER, in_col_name IN VARCHAR2)
RETURN VARCHAR2
IS
c_name VARCHAR2(100);
c_last_name VARCHAR2(100);
BEGIN
SELECT T.NAME, T.LAST_NAME
INTO c_name, c_last_name
FROM TABLE_1 T, TABLE_2 Z
WHERE T.PK = Z.FK
AND Z.ID = in_id;
IF in_col_name = 'NAME' THEN
RETURN c_name;
ELSIF in_col_name = 'LAST_NAME' THEN
RETURN c_last_name;
END IF;
END;
For simplicty I've restricted the number of columns.
CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW my_view
(ID, NAME, LAST_NAME)
AS
SELECT
T.ID ID
,CAST(my_function(T.ID,'NAME') AS VARCHAR2(100)) NAME
,CAST(my_function(T.ID,'LAST_NAME') AS VARCHAR2(100)) LAST_NAME
FROM TABLE T;
There is no problem with query:
SELECT * FROM my_view;
The problem arises when I query the view (regardles of '=' or 'LIKE'):
SELECT * FROM my_view
WHERE name LIKE '%some_part_of_name%'
The query returns rows for same names, for same it doesn't. If I put '=' and the whole name the query returns nothing, but when I put 'LIKE' and the first letter it returns rows in some cases.
I've tried to debug this situation and I've discovered that the function recives ID not in the proper order and not the same amount of times - in explicit:
for each ID in (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, ... , 100) the function should be called twice for each ID and in the same order, but it does not.
I get 1, 1, 2, 3, 3, 6, 20, 20 and so on.
Help needed.
Greetings.The problem is more complicated than the solutions provided here.
The reason why I'm using the function is this:
the original view was constructed using multiple union all selects and the speed was terrible. I've created the index on the base table to obtain a proper sort. For retriving all records at once the view works perfectly, but if one wants to query by columns based on function the results are suprisng - sometimes there are, some times there are none, or if you serch with "like" and only a part of string there are results, but with "=" there are no results.
Here are real DDLs:

Problem with SDO_relate when using polygons with holes.
I'm having a problem with sdo_relate. I'm trying to extract all elements from a point table (bdtq_batim_p) that are inside a specific polygon from another table (SDA_MUNIC_SS). The spatial index for both table have been rebuilt and the data from both table is valid.
When I do a count on the query, I know the answer should be 1422 elements (Counted in ArcGIS). However, sdo_relate gives a smaller number of elements in the result set.
The query :
SELECT count(distinct t.identifiant) FROM bdtq_batim_p t, SDA_MUNIC_SS s WHERE s.mus_co_geo = '48015' and sdo_relate( t.SHAPE,s.SHAPE,'mask=anyinteract querytype=window') = 'TRUE'
returns 282 elements. The query with mask=inside, SDO_Anyinteract() and SDO_inside() all give the same result.
I did a test with the following query and the result is 1422 (which is the good result).
SELECT count(distinct t.identifiant) FROM bdtq_batim_p t, SDA_MUNIC_SS s WHERE s.mus_co_geo = '48015' and SDO_WITHIN_DISTANCE( t.SHAPE,s.SHAPE,'distance=0') = 'TRUE';
It's important to note that the polygone (from SDA_MUNIC_SS) that is used for this query have holes in it. I have the same problem with all the polygons from the SDA_MUNIC_SS table that have holes in it. For the polygon without holes, the results are the same for the 2 queries.
My question are :
Why are the result from the two queries different? A query with a buffer of 0 should always return the same result as a query with Anyinteract.
Is there a known problem with SDO_RELATE when using a polygon with holes in it?
Do you have any idea how to solve my problem.Since i don't have much control on the version of Oracle and Patches that we use in the system, we used a workaround that detects the polygons with holes and uses the SDO_WITHIN_DISTANCE( t.SHAPE,s.SHAPE,'distance=0') = 'TRUE' operator in those case. We saw a slight decline in performance but it now returns the right results. When the system will be patched, we'll come back to the original version and see if the problem is solved.

Problems with the O2 blackberry data package on my Curve 3G.
I have already informed O2 about this but they claim that I should be used the blackberry support services, but nothing there helps me!
I got my Blackberry Curve 3G on September 9th this year and I put on the Blackberry Data Package bolt-on onto my phone on September 16th. I then received a text to say they've taken £5 from my credit and it will be up and running in the next 24 hours. Its now September 19th and my BBM is not working at all and I am extremely upset with the services and behaviour I have received from both O2 and Blackberry.
Is there any way you can help? If this fails, I shall be forced to go back to the shop from where I got my Blackberry from and ask for their help.
Many thanks, Jade.Can a bubble whistle Problems with the O2 blackberry data package on my Curve 3G.? The seat matures in your oar. The lad ices the pursuing method inside a resident. A judge spins against the vendor! The rose wows the hello.

Peferling
==================
Boy, you are not kidding, I was running both the cloud and CS6, and I was ready to throw in the towel.
I have changed computer's twice now, have a solid state hd, (which I love) with 10 terabytes on externals, I run NOTHING except adobe's stuff on my HD now, and only one version of it, and it runs like a dream.
So, I updated the OS to win 8.1, updated my peripherals,
I dumped CS6 (hated to, but for some reason my 3D won't work on it, it works fine with the cloud) but in CS6 the software was turning it off after adobe's last update.
I've made a virtual machine for my development environments which do not play well with adobe's stuff.
My rule of thumb has always been double what the manufacturer states is required for RAM, but imho, with my current upgrades: upgraded to win8.1, and other peripherals, spent two weeks changing stuff over and it's about 100 times better than trying to run CC and CS6. - No kidding, the change is astronomical
But for anything PC I'm way over powered, and for Adobe, I'm still underpowered.
Next, I'll just get a mac for Adobe, and stick with my pc's for ms/CentOS. Too, it seems like since the cloud was initiated Adobe is rolling out the updates faster and changes without warning. The processor/3D issue, I had no warning on it, just woke up one day and "no more 3d" :S
But I do love the cloud, so, guess there's got to be some dark lining to it. <g> -
Problem with oracle.jbo.domain.Date
Hi there,
I've a problem with oracle.jbo.domain.Date,
I'm doing this code (this part of code is used in my Session Attribute Listener):
* This method is used to add the session id in the database, whenever user login
public void attributeAdded(HttpSessionBindingEvent hsbe){
if(!hsbe.getName().equals("user")){
return;
AmLogin am = (AmLogin)Configuration.createRootApplicationModule(
"com.ahm.pdt001.am.AmLogin",
"AmLoginLocal");
try{
hsbe.getSession().setAttribute("login", new Date(new Timestamp(
System.currentTimeMillis())));
am.createLogin(hsbe.getValue().toString(), hsbe.getSession().
getAttribute("login").toString());
} catch(Exception e){
e.printStackTrace();
System.out.println("Error insert data user: " + hsbe.getValue());
} finally{
Configuration.releaseRootApplicationModule(am, true);
Everything is running well in Jdev 10.1.3 (I'm using ADF Faces technology), and I'm trying to deploy it on OC4J 10.1.2 and it works. But it raised an error when this part of code is runned.
--------------caused and error------------------------
hsbe.getSession().setAttribute("login", new Date(new Timestamp(
System.currentTimeMillis())));
And this is an error:
javax.faces.FacesException: #{pdt001.loginAction}: javax.faces.el.EvaluationException: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: oracle.jbo.domain.Date.<init>(Ljava/sql/Timestamp;)V at com.sun.faces.application.ActionListenerImpl.processAction(ActionListenerImpl.java:78) at oracle.adf.view.faces.component.UIXCommand.broadcast(UIXCommand.java:211) at javax.faces.component.UIViewRoot.broadcastEvents(UIViewRoot.java:267) at javax.faces.component.UIViewRoot.processApplication(UIViewRoot.java:381) at com.sun.faces.lifecycle.InvokeApplicationPhase.execute(InvokeApplicationPhase.java:75) at com.sun.faces.lifecycle.LifecycleImpl.phase(LifecycleImpl.java:200) at com.sun.faces.lifecycle.LifecycleImpl.execute(LifecycleImpl.java:90) at javax.faces.webapp.FacesServlet.service(FacesServlet.java:197) at com.evermind[Oracle Application Server Containers for J2EE 10g (10.1.2.0.0)].server.http.ResourceFilterChain.doFilter(ResourceFilterChain.java:65) at oracle.adf.model.servlet.ADFBindingFilter.doFilter(ADFBindingFilter.java:332) at com.evermind[Oracle Application Server Containers for J2EE 10g (10.1.2.0.0)].server.http.EvermindFilterChain.doFilter(EvermindFilterChain.java:16) at oracle.adfinternal.view.faces.webapp.AdfFacesFilterImpl._invokeDoFilter(AdfFacesFilterImpl.java:367) at oracle.adfinternal.view.faces.webapp.AdfFacesFilterImpl._doFilterImpl(AdfFacesFilterImpl.java:336) at oracle.adfinternal.view.faces.webapp.AdfFacesFilterImpl.doFilter(AdfFacesFilterImpl.java:196) at oracle.adf.view.faces.webapp.AdfFacesFilter.doFilter(AdfFacesFilter.java:87) at com.evermind[Oracle Application Server Containers for J2EE 10g (10.1.2.0.0)].server.http.EvermindFilterChain.doFilter(EvermindFilterChain.java:20) at com.ahm.filter.AhmFilterSession.doFilter(AhmFilterSession.java:45) at com.evermind[Oracle Application Server Containers for J2EE 10g (10.1.2.0.0)].server.http.ServletRequestDispatcher.invoke(ServletRequestDispatcher.java:645) at com.evermind[Oracle Application Server Containers for J2EE 10g (10.1.2.0.0)].server.http.ServletRequestDispatcher.forwardInternal(ServletRequestDispatcher.java:322) at com.evermind[Oracle Application Server Containers for J2EE 10g (10.1.2.0.0)].server.http.HttpRequestHandler.processRequest(HttpRequestHandler.java:790) at com.evermind[Oracle Application Server Containers for J2EE 10g (10.1.2.0.0)].server.http.HttpRequestHandler.run(HttpRequestHandler.java:270) at com.evermind[Oracle Application Server Containers for J2EE 10g (10.1.2.0.0)].server.http.HttpRequestHandler.run(HttpRequestHandler.java:112) at com.evermind[Oracle Application Server Containers for J2EE 10g (10.1.2.0.0)].util.ReleasableResourcePooledExecutor$MyWorker.run(ReleasableResourcePooledExecutor.java:186) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:534)Caused by: javax.faces.el.EvaluationException: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: oracle.jbo.domain.Date.<init>(Ljava/sql/Timestamp;)V at com.sun.faces.el.MethodBindingImpl.invoke(MethodBindingImpl.java:130) at com.sun.faces.application.ActionListenerImpl.processAction(ActionListenerImpl.java:72) ... 23 moreCaused by: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: oracle.jbo.domain.Date.<init>(Ljava/sql/Timestamp;)V at com.ahm.pdt001.listener.Pdt001AttributeSessionListener.attributeAdded(Pdt001AttributeSessionListener.java:27) at com.evermind[Oracle Application Server Containers for J2EE 10g (10.1.2.0.0)].server.http.EvermindHttpSession.setAttribute(EvermindHttpSession.java:128) at com.ahm.pdt001.bean.Pdt001Bean.loginAction(Pdt001Bean.java:61) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:324) at com.sun.faces.el.MethodBindingImpl.invoke(MethodBindingImpl.java:126)
Does anybody have the same problem like this? I've used the same method in my previous project to create oracle.jbo.domain.Date with current time using java.sql.Timestamp, but I don't know why this error happened.
Thx,
