Problems with Reader 10.1.3 when open a PDF
Hi ...
Every time I try to open a PDF file in my Windows 7 (64 bits) the Reader freeze for a while.
Sometimes passing 2 to 5 minutes the Reader respond an I can see the document, but sometimes the time may be 10 minutes ...
This situation occurs every time I try to open a PDF, with differents applications.
It seems like the Reader is trying to find something when it opens a file, but I don't know where configure to fix this situation.
Any suggestion ?

Adobe Reader 9.x crashes when opening some pdf files that work fine with Adobe Reader 8.x
Adobe Reader 9 crashes when opening approximately 10% to 20% of the pdfs in my collection. The remaining 80% to 90% work without problems. The pdfs are launched by double-clicking the pdf file from Windows Explorer. The crashes occur with both v9.0 and v9.1. The pdfs that crash in v9.x work fine in older versions of Adobe Reader, such as v8.1.3. Furthermore, this behavior also occurs on all 3 virtual machine hosted on the same physical machine, with default Adobe Reader settings, for both v9.0 and v9.1. The virtual machines have little running in memory except standard Windows executables - i.e. they are fairly pristine. The operating systems for the virtual machines are XP SP3, XP SP2, and Windows Server 2003.
Error message info in all cases:

To sum up, this problem happens on both a real computer running XP SP3, and also on all 3 virtual machines hosted on the same physical computer. I tried changing the Reader setting to not use hardware rendering, to no avail. I also tried various Data Execution Prevention settings in Windows, to no avail. All operating systems, the real and virtual ones, do not have problems with other programs that I use. I also tried a second machine with Adobe Reader v9.1 and the same exact problem pdfs, and had no issues. Thus, the problem happens on only one of the computers, but on the real and 3 virtual operating systems on that machine. There were no errors reported during any of the Reader installations. The virtual machines had no prior versions of Reader prior to Reader installation.I did further testing of 10 single page pdf files which I created from a single book. All 5 pdf files with images crashed in Reader v9.1. 0 of the 5 pdf files without images crashed in Reader v9.1. Reader v8.1.4 crashes on none of the 10 pdfs. Note that the crash always occurs in jp2klib.dll, which according to the file property description is 'JPEG2000 Core Library', which deals with images. So it seems the issue is in Adobe's jp2klib.dll, in combination with the hardware/software that I have. Adobe Reader 9.1 Crashes when opening 2 pdfs
When I open 1 pdf file with the reader, it is fine and works normally. However as soon as I attempt to open another one, it crashes.
I am using windows vista 32 bitI get the same issue if I double click on one PDF file on my drive and then double click on a second PDF file also on my drive, the second one does not open and eventually I get an error message saying that Adobe reader has encountered a problem and will close.
If I use File=> Open then I can open as many PDF files as I wish with no problems -
Problem with page breaks in IE when printing to PDF
Hey,
I am having formatting issues with IE when printing to pdf, I have a dynamically created report which has page breaks at the end of each page, if I open this report(report is in html) in firefox and goto print the formatting is correct, if I open the same report in IE and print the report 80% of the pagebreaks are in tact, 20% are ignored which just makes the report look rubbish, my question is,( I know it not directly related to the reader but was unsure on which forum to post) is there a different css or formatting I should use to make IE play ball.

Acrobat Pro XI problem+Accept End User License Agreement when opening a PDF inside IE

Deployment went ok after the code was worked out, but.....
We use Desire to Learn content management system at the community college where I maintain the student computers at. When running D2L and a PDF has been embedded in some course material, I am getting the message below and the PDF won't open.
“Before proceeding you must first launch Adobe Acrobat and accept the End User License Agreement" .
The only fix so far is to run up Acrobat Pro and run the program once. Fine and dandy, but we are looking at 700+ machines to clear in this fashion. The other part of this scenario we we also utilize Respondus Lockdown Browser to invigilate exams through D2L. Because of the "lock down" features, the student can't even get back to the desktop to run Acrobat and clear the message.
I have tried a number of GPO entries to no avail. As well, disabled the IE PDF viewer add-on. I ran Procmon with no results either; .
I have been scouring the Googlemachine and building on the GPO below to get around the issue with no results. I am hoping someone with a sharper eye than I can spot something or point me in the correct direction..

Problem with recent Acrobat Standard subscription and opening up PDF's
After doing a 1-month trial for Adobe XI Pro, I completed online purchase yesterday (11/8/14) for annual subscription for Adobe Standard.
And now I can no longer open or read any PDFs on my computer. A prompt comes up that trial period has ended and I need to subscribe (which I have done). I did not expect this and am very frustrated. Is there a lag time for processing the subscription, or is this something related to updates of older version Adobe? I have Windows Vista.Hi create shortcut,
Acrobat XI isn't supported on Windows Vista, so that could be what the problem is (see Tech specs | Adobe Acrobat XI Pro). Although, it sounds like you were using Acrobat Pro XI on Vista, is that correct?
Your subscription is indeed, active. So, you should be able to simply sign in and use Acrobat Standard (but know that Adobe can't support any technical issues that might arise when using it on an unsupported OS).

why would an error pop up saying the installer is damaged. The Installer can’t open the package. There may be a problem with file ownership or permissions. when trying to install java 7?
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

If you want help you’ll need to give us more information. There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 8 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?

I am having problems with the Preview application. When I try to use it to open a pdf document it gets hung-up and I have to select force quit to close it. Any ideas on how to resolve this problem? Thanks for any help
Can you open the Preview program without loading a file, like by itself?
If it doesn't load then I suspect a corrupt Preview preference file.
Deleting the System Preference or other .plist file

But it seems the OP has a setup where the media is on the external drive, and the library files are on the internal. This is what I refer to as a split library, Migrating such from one computer to another is not straightforward. Often iTunes will have some definite idea about where the files should live, and updating the setting of the media folder won't change that. If it requires a drive letter change that is usually not too hard, but sometimes there is another preference file that needs tweaking to indicate which of the old & new layouts for the library is being used. In more extreme cases I have a script for automatically making track by track repairs.

If you have in fact locked your Mac using Find my iPhone on iCloud then you will need to enter the PIN you have set when you locked the Mac.
*If you have not iniate the remote Lock then someone else has used your Apple ID and Password to lock your mac.
