Problems with restoring itunes
I had a hard drive failure two days ago. After it was all said and done I bought a new drive, loaded everything. Installed Itunes, which registered as a 3rd computer... Loaded my backup discs. Now when I want to sync my ipod the only option it gives me is to wipe it clean and sync the "new" library... But it is just the backup files loaded from my old library.
There is close to 4000 songs on the Ipod "80G Video F.Y.I." and it would take forever to sync it just to literally add two new songs to the ipod.
Any help would be apreciated, or a number, or email where I may be able to contact Apple pertaining this matter.

Hi,
Unfortunately, because you re-installed iTunes the iPod will see it as different from your old copy, and will need to re-sync - it's configured this way to stop people sharing music via an iPod.
I know it's frustrating when all you've done is a fresh install on the same computer, but that's just the way it is.
My advice - Plug it in before you go to bed.

Help! We had to have a new motherboard installed on our $1500 phantom box computer that was only a year old (Lesson learned, I know.) I found the iTunes folder with the iTunes music library and my files backed up in my hard drive. The Help section said I can move the folder into the library source. I re-installed the software, iPod updater, etc. and tried to drag the folder into the "Library" in the "Source" column. Nothing happened. How do I get the files to re-populate iTunes?
I have dragged the full folder "I Tunes" which has the following inside: iTunes Library (the database) and a file titled iTunes Music Library (an XML document)over the word Library in the left Source column. It gave me a plus sign when I dropped it in. Nothing happened except a new playlists titled "iTunes" are created in the source section which are blank. I went into File, Add folder to Library and clicked on the folder and OK and nothing happened.

In iTunes the iPhone device icon will not show up whenever I plug in a USB into my PC but the iPhone icon will show up in 'This PC' so if anyone who knows a resolution to my problem with my iTunes or PC,it would really help me.I need at least Help or some Tips.I have already tried many things to iTunes and my PC like trying to restore my PC but that do anything.Also,would it be fine if i contacted (call) Apple Support? unfortunately there are tons of people with this issue but Apple has not given any answers for us to fix this issue yet. I wish they would allocate more people to solving these problems when they roll out new versions of itunes along with new hardware.

Some more developments ... the issue appears to be browser-specific. I can't see the download controls at the moment in either IE 8 (I'll get your message) or Safari for Windows 5.0.5 (I'll just get the blank box). But I can see the download controls in Firefox 4 and Chrome (whatever version I have of that).
So it might be worth installing Firefox and seeing if you can get the downloads via that:

Problem with installing iTunes
So these are my problems with installing iTunes.
At first it was :
A required iTunes component is not installed.Please repair or reinstall iTunes (-45019)
Then it got worse as it would not even open and these would appear:
The program can't start because AVFoundationCF.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.
and this would appear:
iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes.
Error 7 (Windows error 126)
I reinstalled maybe about 5 times or more...
If I thought I solved the above problem, this would appear:
iTunesHelper.exe is not installed on my computer.
I seen other people comment that you should unistall and restart the computer and install the setup again, but it does not work..
And others would say to repair the AAS or iTunes etc..
And after trying all these it does not work???
What else works?I also tried repairing the Microsoft NET.

I have a problem with my itunes. I cannot transfer apps from the itunes to my iphone 4s. Any time I try to snyc itunes tells me "The iphone could not be synced because this computer is no longer authorized for purchased items that are on this iphone. To authorize this computer for items purchased from the itunes store, choose, Store > Authorize This Computer. But anytime I authorize it tells me you have authorized including this computer 2 out 5 computers. And if I try again the same story over and over again. But I have many apps on my itunes which I want to transfer. Please someone help me.

I have a PC with Windows Vista Home Premium 2007, entering into iTunes Store on the main screen I get only AppStore, Podcast and iTunes U. In my screen I get only ipad2 Podcast, iTunes U Downloads. ITunes will be installed wrong or what should I do to activate these options?Go to the front page of the Store, and click Change Country. Make sure it is set to the country where you actually are.

I can successfully crosscheck backup sets (by command crosscheck backup), but I couldn't restore database.

How do I fix this problem with my iTunes?
I've been having problems with my iTunes for over a week now - since I tried to update to iOS 5 - and I've tried everything. I've had to uninstall iTunes multiple times and each time I have reinstalled it, there has been some form of error, the list seems endless. Today, I managed to get an older version to succeessfully install but when I tried to update to the newest version, this is what appeared on my screen after the 'install.'
"The procedure entry point AVCFAssetCreateWithByteSystemAndOptions could not be located in the dynamic link library AVFoundationCF.dll"
Any idea what this means, and/or how to resolve it?Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, does your device connect without that message now? -

Go to Settings, Store, Apple ID, Sign out and then sign back in again and have another go.
Also, try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. The screen will go blank and then power ON again in the normal way.] It is app and data safe!
