Problems with Sharepoint 2010 view if group by and collapsed is activated - all items show up within each group!

Hi there,
we have a Sharepoint 2010 Enterprise environment where we use some lists for new feature ideas.
These lists should be grouped by a certain coloums. If we keep the default view with expanded groups, only the items which should be inside a certain group will be displayed (the count is for example 7 and inside the group there are only 7 items).
As there are a lot of groups inside the list we would like to create a new standard view with all groups collapsed. But as soon as we change the view, all groups contain ALL items from the list (what makes it really strange is that the count is still 7 but
a couple of hundred items are inside the group even the ones which should have been filtered by the "group by" settings.
I enclosed two pictures where you can see the difference between "collapsed" and "expanded" view (Group by settings!)
Is this a bug or is there something wrong with our views/installation?

Hi ,
I  understand that when you create a new standard view with group by BDE ,and all items show up when collapse is activated .I cannot reproduce your issue .This is not a bug .You should try to edit the view in browser multiple times to have a test whether
it is showing correctly now .If this view is still not working ,you can try the workaround below :
Open the Site in SharePoint Designer .
Open the list and create a new view .Make the view as the default view .
Edit the view in Advanced Mode . Click in the xsltlistview web part and Click Sort&Group in the ribbon .
You can add Group by here .After making all the changes ,save and preview the view in browser .

    After making sure that all services are up and running,  I had to deactive and activate the "SharePoint Server Site Search" web site collection feature.  Then the search started working for the time being. 
    However, it throws the error again after 8 to 9 hours.  This has been happening for last couple of weeks.  I also came to know from my windows server team that they moved the AD from one place to another.  Since then I am having this issue. 
    The log file has the following error:

  • Unable to see the native mode report 2012 in Chrome with SharePoint 2010

    We are facing strange issues to make reporting services 2012 native mode work with SharePoint 2010 in Chrome.
    We are able to see all the reports in I.E. with SPS but when I open the SharePoint page on which the report is placed then in the chrome then it does not show the report it only show the SPS content.

    Hi Swap,
    As per my understanding, I think this issue is caused by the browser. We can add this site as a trusted site in chrome browser to check this issue again. And we can try to run IE in compatibility mode to check the issue again.
    Besides, Google Chrome is only supported to view reports in some operating systems in Reporting Services. Please make sure the operating system meets the requirement, and the Google Chrome is the latest publically released version.

  • Problem with Essbase add-in 9.2.1 and office 2010.

    Hi all,
    we have a problem with Essbase add in 9.2.1 and office 2010.
    Every time when a user opens Excel a new (additionally) euntry in the ad-on menue appears.
    Indeed what happens is, that the add-in is loaded n-times.
    At the first start of excel one time, second two times and so on...
    Thtas's very annoying.
    Can someone confirm this issue or even better know a workaround.
    (A way we have found so far to ease the pain a bit -well only temporary- is to disable the ad-in, close Excel and start it again.
    However with every new start of execel the issues begins again.
    But that's not a solution you can recommand to the end user.)
    Any help is welcome.

    This is due to some files missed in Local development.
    Let me know Are you able to see <b>.confdef, .syncdb</b> and <b>buildvariant.config </b> files under Local Developement.
    If you are not able to see, UnInstall your NWDS, Remove Local developement under .dtc folder, then Re-Install NWDS.

    Your setup might be incomplete: The SAR file extraction creates very long paths on your filesystem. If you do not extract to the rootfolder of disk, chances are the paths become too long and the installation exits, without any warning.
    If this is not the cause of your problem, check if the .dcdef files for the local DCs (plugin com.sap.tc.ap if I'm correct) were copied during installation.

    Hello all,
    We are having a problem with sharing a calendar using Outlook 2007 and Exchange 2010.
    I will start with some background. I have just started my position with this company. I have been working with networks for awhile at the small business level. I have not had much production experience with exchange. There is only myself and my supervisor
    who has inherited a midsized network which was built by five previous techs that are no longer with the company. Of course, the previous techs did not leave much documentation, so the original hows and whys for our system setup has been lost.
    One of the managers has a calendar she shares with some of our users. I believe this calendar has been in use since sometime in 2006. A mailbox was created to hold this calendar to keep it separate from the managers calendar. I am not sure what version
    of exchange they were using at that time, but I assume there was one or two migrations of it getting to its current state on our exchange 2010 server. At some point it was observed that the other workers she was sharing with were not able to access it correctly.
    I am not fully sure what the original problem was (possibly some people not being able to see or connect to the calendar), but it was decided to give everyone who needed access to this calendar full access permissions through exchange. Correct me if I
    am wrong, but I believe that gave everyone connected the ability to do anything with the calendar. Of course the manager was not happy about that. This is where I started working on the problem.
    I removed everyone, except the manager who wants to control the calendar, from having "Full Access Permissions". This did have the effect of making some people just able to see the calendar and not make changes. Though there were others that were
    able to connect to the calendar who I thought would not be able to. The manager that originally created the calendar did try to manage access to it through the Outlook interface, though it currently does not seem to be fully in effect.
    So, to get to the point of what we are trying to do, is there a way to get the original manager back into control of the calendar though Outlook? It would be preferred to be able to keep the history of what they tracked of this calendar, so starting a new
    one would be something we would rather avoid. After that, getting all of the users that need to connect to the calendar reconnected with the correct access permissions and making sure they are all synchronized.
    I realize this is a big mess, and your help would be greatly appreciated.

    If just one user, it seems like an issue on the Outlook Client side.
    Please trying to re-create new profile to fresh the caches.
    Please runing Outlook under safe mode to avoid some AVs, add-ins and firewall.

  • Problem with pdf chrome viewer and javascript

    I have a problem with chrome pdf viewer. We have created a form with acrobat 9 pro, this form contains a javascript. When the form is printed or saved the javascript checks that all the mandatiry fields are completed and displays a message if some fields are uncompleted. The chrome pdf viewer doesn't display the warning message when the form is saved, and doesn't display the check box included in the warning message pop up to confirm that the user accepts to print the form. The control is correct with FF et IE

    There are many PDF viewers. Adobe's, third party downloads, things that come with systems (Apple Preview, Microsoft 8 Reader), things built into browsers (Chrome, Firefox...) Adobe's software understands the full set of JavaScript. Some ignoresJavaScript altogether. Some do selected JavaScript. This is a bit of a mess, but nothing can be done about it EXCEPT that you can demand your users use Adobe Reader. Whether they actually will depends on how important your needs are to them.

  • Citrix Netscaler AppXpert with Sharepoint 2010 Page Edit Issue

    Posting this as a questions and discussion point.
    The issue is in using Citrix Netscaler with AppXpert with SharePoint 2010. I've seen this issue for two customers.
    Configurations:
    - Citrix Netscaler as the load Balancer
    - Netscaler AppXpert for SharePoint deployed on Netscaler (using either AppXpert version 1.1 or 2.0)
    - SharePoint 2010 Standard or Enterprise editions
    Issue:
    A SharePoint user with appropriate rights go to a SharePoint page. They choose Edit page, make changes and want to save changes. At this point all SharePoint ribbon options on the top are greyed out. End result, users are not able to make changes to their
    site pages. Issue happens for everyone including Farm Admins.
    Cases:
    a. The users are able to edit and save SharePoint wiki pages if I point user's PC to the SharePoint web server WFE by changing their local host file.
    b. On Citrix Netscaler, if I use the traditional load balancing i.e. without Citrix AppXpert, then the users are able to edit and save the pages. That is an option if the customer is using SharePoint 2010 Standard. That is not an option if a customer is
    using InfoPath forms. InfoPath is a feature of SharePoint 2010 Enterprise edition. Citrix AppXpert for SharePoint is needed to make the InfoPath work. Else the users get session errors when they use InfoPath Web forms.
    c. The issue happens on almost all combination of OS and browser. XP, vista, Win 7, Win8, Win8.1, IE8, 9, 10, 11 and other browsers like chrome etc as well.
    Please share your ideas and suggestions.

    I have a .NET application that uses SSRS ReportViewer 2012 control to render reports deployed on SSRS 2012 integrated with SharePoint 2010. I am getting error "the report execution '' has expired or not found". The same code works when I connect

    According to your description, my understanding is that when you add the Yammer feeds app to SharePoint page, it occurs "The
    page or app using unsupported version of yammer platform" error.
    This  maybe related to the Yammer API version has been updated, the solution is to update the Yammer app in site contents.
