Problems with songs I ordered when I had a different email account (now inactive), now I can't get my computer authorized to play those songs
I had ordered many songs using a different e-mail account, which is no longer active and I have no access to. When I try to play the songs, it states that the computer is not authorized to play them, then offers me the chance to log in on my old e-mail address to authorize the computer. However, my old password doesn't work anymore, and since I don't still have the old e-mail address active, I can't get a new one sent to me. When I try to do the security questions, my birthdate is not being accepted as correct, so I cannot access the account that way. How can I get my computer activated through this old e-mail address?

Have you found your phone in the iTunes devices list and checked what you want to sync there.

I hit "DELETE THIS ACCOUNT" on my iphone (this is the Yahoo I tried to set up by "picking" it from the list that the iphone5 gives you) and then confirmed to delete everything.
THEN: while in Mail (still in the Settings Section) I tapped on "ADD ACCOUNT..." but this time tapped on "OTHER" and manually put in my yahoo ID and password and I did not even have to go to the SMTP or IMAP incomming/outgoing stuff at all. But I checked it out under the "ADVANCE" tab and it was already correct for yahoo. (ALMOST SEEMED TOO EASY)
Went to my home screen and tapped on MAIL and my yahoo email loaded up just right!
Now, I have no idea if I have any other issues like if I delete mail on the iphone; does it delete properly on my ipad...etc..etc. but one problem at a time is getting fixed. THANKS! -

thanks for your supportYou issue is probably with your email provider. You should check the settings for each account and somewhere you will be able to set it for something like: Delete mail after X days. If you are using POP mail you can find this setting in Mail Preferences - Accounts - Advanced and look for Remove copy from server after retrieving message and then set the toggle.
BTW if no one on this forums knows where the "hidden file" you are referring to is then please repost in the Lion forum, that is where most Mail related questions should go. The reason being is Mail is considered part of OS X.

ok so last night i finally decided to do the upgrade on my phone... well i guess BIG mistake.... now my phone is tripping.... my apps arent working right.... had to delete fb several times..... my photos wouldnt load back up....and my ipod music wouldnt upload for @ least 2 hours.... really krazy... well im frustrated cause i really wanted to listen to my music and when i was trying to do so my sound kept going in and out..... all by its self.... how in the world can i fix this problem?????? HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!! Oh and i have tried resetting my phone several times with no such luck.....
Also side note my phone is really really slowwwwwwwww now!!

SO, I download some albums from the Music Store, and plug my iPhone into the iMac, and quite oftern I get the tracks duplicated on the iPhone. As you can imagine, this is not ideal when I try and listen to the album, as I get Track 1 followed by Track 1, then Track 2 followed by Track 2, etc, etc.
I would really like to have just a siongle instance of the songs on my phone.
Any ideas ?To my knowledge, there is no way of doing what you want. The only workaround is to create playlists for the other albums containing the track, but that isn't practical for most people.

I can only get my Ipod touch to play 14 songs of the 297 I have on I tunes.
I got an I pod touch recently and I downloaded the songs I have in I tune to my new device. All 297 songs appear on my Ipod, but I can only seem to get the same 14 songs to play. I have no idea why these 14 songs play and not any others as the songs that do play seem totally random.
Assuming they play in iTunes on the coputer:
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device. -
This happens all the time, a box comes up asking me to choose the application I want, it offers google, windows live, but not windows live hotmail which is what I have. If I choose windows live, an email blank comes up, not from my hotmail account, and it gets an error code when I try to send it.

I have a Sonos system in my house and suddenly discovered that many songs I bought off of iTunes years ago are 'grayed out' when I try to play them from my iPhone or do not appear as options at all when I try to play them on Sonos from my overall music library. It's well over 100 songs I bought back before mid-2009 when Apple dropped this DRM thing. From what I think I am reading, if I want to play those songs on Sonos, the ONLY way to do so is pay Apple another $25/year for iTunes Match (which I don't have any interest in) and then re-download them all in iTunes Plus format??

I agree it was not all communicated real well, but in your case it will work out. You missed the program where you could have upgraded 100 tracks for 30 cents each (=$30) but now you can do it via Match (=$25). It works pretty simply, per this document:

Yes. If you subscribe to iTunes Match, you can download your previously purchased music again in the iTunes Plus format. To do so:
You need to delete the original DRM song from your library first. Doing this enables you to download the song again in the iTunes Plus format from iTunes in the Cloud.
Click the Purchased tab in the iTunes Store.
Click Music.
Locate the artist of the song you want to upgrade.
Click the iCloud Download icon next to the song you want to upgrade.
Just don't forget to put the Plus files on your hard drive -- properly backed up of course -- and to cancel the Match subscription before the second year rolls around! -
When I turn my computer on (Windows 7) I receive a message that Apple wants to make a change to the hardware. I click on yes but nothing happens. The change has something to do with Apple "push". I recently had a problem with"push" on iTunes when I tried to sync my iPod Touch. I have latest software for iTunes and iPod. Can anyone tell me what to do to get this change to install?

Hey Silverdemon, sounds like a short, most likely in the headphones. Try a different set of headphones with this iPod or try the headphones with a different device. If the problem stops with your iPod or it moves to another device, then replace the headphones. If within 1 year of date of purchase Apple will replace the headphones for free if problem is a defect, not abuse. If the problem continues with a different set of headphones, check the port for damage and foreign debris. If you note debris, attempt to remove it, if damage noted contact Apple and set up an appointment to have it evaluated. if nothing appears wrong, try plugging / unplugging to jack about 12 times maybe corrosion on the contacts if so that should clean it. Next thing to try reset your iPod. After that try restore from backup. Last resort, restore to new. Just make sure you make a full backup to your computer before you restore so no data is lost. If nothing works, contact Apple and set up an appointment to have your iPod evaluated. Good luck, Cheers.

I have Windows 7 and just recently experienced a problem with itunes freezing up when I clicked on the "apps" tab which shows the apps that are loaded on my phone. Everything else in the itunes software seems to be working okay. The problem is in the part where you sync the newly purchased apps. The apps will all be blank that are downloaded and that part of the software crashes itunes or freezes up. I can get out of itunes okay after the freeze up, but it just stops me from syncing anything that I have newly added. If anyone has had this problem before or knows someone that has, please let me know how I can fix it. I have uninstalled and reloaded itunes 4 or 5 times, but the problem is still there. I might add that I have been using itunes and purchasing apps for 2 to 3 years without any problems. HELP.

I have a problem with two PDF's when trying to open them through a link on a web page. The two PDF's open fine with Adobe on my own PC and on the server I have copied it to but when they are opened through a link on a web page (pointing to the server where the PDFs open fine) I get an error 'There was an error processing a page. Invalid function resource' The other one just doesn't open at all. Can anyone help with this please?

Ive used compressor and then tried to put it in dvdsp put its not working. I am having problems with the audio or when i burn it , i cant play the dvd? any help would be appreciated
I suspect you are attempting to burn an HD DVD, which will not play on a DVD player...
But if you provide more details such as the settings you are applying in Compressor, then we would be able to provide you more accurate information.
How are you adding the files to Compressor?
In FCP, what are your footage properties (command-9) and sequence settings (command-0)
