Problems with soundblaster x-fi surround 5.1

, Hello,
I have problems with my 'soundblaster x-fi surround 5.'.
-the speakers make 'plop' sounds
-the software 'startup centre', 'configuration' etc. give this message (translated from Dutch): "There are no compatible audiodevices found. Please close the program."
I have this poblems using a 64bit Vista, and not on a 32bit Vista (other machine).
Thanks,
Ivar

Hi Enk,
unfortunately a lot of people have the same problem.
There is another thread for this topic:
http://forums.creative.com/creativel...scending&page=
but for now there is no solution.
The only way to get the product working with "realtime" sound is to install the Vista driver from 2006, but with that one you have only stereo sound and the creative applications will not detect the product.
As I understand it, the delay can only be a driver issue.

  • Problems with my 5.1 surround system

Hi everyone, for sometime now i've had some problems with my 5.1 speakers, the thing is when i watch youtube, vimeo or that kind of webs i only hear 2 of the five speakers and let me tell you, it sounds like crap...so i was wondering if any of you could help me fix this problem.
    greets!

A Year Later...   has this been fixed?
I have a SB Recon3D PCIe card (and older, lesser version of yours), and I have exactly the same problem. I'm on Windows 7 x64 and CS6. It is interesting that in Audition CS6, When I select the MME Device Class, that my channel mapping shows 6 channels, and when I play files back in Audition, I get full 5.1 surround. But, when I try the same thing in Pr, even taking the 5.1 file created and exported as WAV from Au into Pr, where I can see all 6 channels mapped correctly and the meter shows the correct volumes in each channel when played back in Pr, I hear only Stereo. Channel mapping in Pr shows the same thing yours does.
The bad part (or good, from my perspective) is, I was planning on buying the SB Z to hopefully FIX this problem thinking perhaps it was just a Recon3D problem. So I guess that's out. Can you get Audition CC to work correctly in Surround? Give it a try.
From my perspective, it appears to be a Premiere Pro issue, apparently from CS5 (when it went native 64 bit) that still haunts us all. HAS ANYBODY GOTTEN 5.1 TO WORK IN PREMIERE PRO?
    Cheers,
    Shane

  • Recording problem with SoundBlaster X

    Hello everyone,
I am running a X-FI sound card which is on my motherboard (MSI P6N Platinium).
I always had MSI boards with integrated soundblaster cards, and I used to plug my guitar directly in the microphone input and record.
Since I got this new board with the X-FI card, I have latency when I play my guitar. The sound has around half a second delay before it gets to the speakers.
I never had such a problem with my other motherboards/soundblasters.
I tried with the front panel mic, and also with the back panel one. The problem with the back panel is that when I plug my guitar in, it doesn't allow me to output to the normal 5. speakers, I have just the option to should Digital output...
Does anyone have an idea on something I should look for in the setup?
    I am running a:
    Intel Dual Core 6600
MSI P6N Platinium with integrated SoundBlaster X-FI Xtreme Audio
    2GB Geil sync RAM
    Nvidia 8800GTX 768Mb Video Ram
Thanks a lot in advance for your help!

Hmm.. IIRC, X-Fi Xtreme Audio?doesn't have nati've ASIO?drivers so, if you like to?use lower latency (less delayed), you'll need to either?- install asio4all dri've and use asio compatible software for to input the signal?or?- use WDM/KS capable software for to input the signal?ASIO4ALL driver http://www.asio4all.com?ASIO capable Host? software:VSTHost - http://www.hermannseib.com/english/default.htm?(you need to add least one effect plugin to get signal out ... effevts can be found from KVR http://www.kvraudio.com/get.php)?Reaper?- http://www.cockos.com/reaper/?(support for WDM/KS and ASIO, use WDM/KS with settings 4 buffers x?256 - 52 samples)?jutapa

  • Problem with soundblaster ZXR please help

Hi, yesterday I bought a ZXR . I downloaded the lastest driver 1.00.22 and tried to install it in my pc which runs windows 8.1. I use spdif port ( and I select it from the sound panel of pc) and I use 5.1 channel setup. My problem is that , when I choose DTS or Dolby from the SB control panel there is sound comming from from the test video in the SB control panel but when I want to play a music via media player I get this message "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device..." or something like the sound device is busy in another application. To solve this problem I have to choose speaker option in the system sound menu. This way the sound comes from the speakers when I play media player but the MASTER VOLUME control does not work at all. I have already disabled and unistalled the system onboard sound device. What should I do?

  • Windows Media Player 11 problems with SoundBlaster Live! Driv

My sound card stops working as soon as I try to watch a video with WMP. I have a Creative Labs SoundBlaster Li've! with a driver date of 8/29/2002. When I go to adjust audio properties, the system doesn?t recognize the card even though it is still listed in the hardware and says ?Device is working properly. I have reloaded the driver, and the card begins to work again, but as soon as I attempt to view a video, I?m back to the same place.
When I run the diagnostics included with the SoundBlaster card prior to running WMP, it passes on Hardware Detection, Wave Driver, MIDI Driver, DirectSound Driver, DirectSound3D Driver, but not on Mixer Driver, SoundFont Setting and Mixer Settings Check. After I run WMP, the only test that will pass is the Hardware Detection.
I have also tried this with the October 2002 driver set for SoundBlaster. In addition, I have downloaded the most recent driver set from Creative Labs.
    I'm running Windows XP SP2.
Other programs like iTunes and various games work after I reinstall the drivers, but will not work after WMP starts. It appears that WMP is the source of the problem. Any suggestions?

Make sure you have the DRM update for the Li've drivers. I suspect WMP is cutting out the sound. Just to make sure that this is in fact the case, you could try playing back your clip with some other media player.

  • Speaker problem with SoundBlaster Live! Va

  • Screeching sounds in games and other problems with Soundblaster live extern

Okay i have the USB external Creative soundblaster li've sound card. i have had a few problems. My first problem is When im in games such as Americas Army i get random Screeches like a tin can being scraped on concrete. My 2nd problem is Talking with my mic. For others to hear me MONITORING has to be enabled, there for i hear myself out of my own speakers as well. I have done everything to try and fix this, i've tried updating drivers, rolling back drivers, using windows automatic drivers. Is there an option i dont see that is causing my card to not sound good? I am using a 2.0 speaker configuration, and i only play the games with headphones on.
    please help.
thanks for your time.Message Edited by Zombeh on 0-6-2006 08:30 AM

You waited 24 hours and gave up? So I'll offer this for anybody else who reads the thread. I have a USB external SB card, but it's in a box somewhere. But IIRC, the Volume Controls work similar to other SB cards. In Volume Controls, Playback, mute the Microphone. In Volume Controls, Recording, select Microphone. This should let you "record" without hearing it on your speakers. Now if a game sets the mixer options for itself, that complicates things. If allowed, choose game audio options similar to these Volume Controls.

  • Problem with SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Card Installat

I just completed installation of my X-Fi Xtreme Audio card for PCI express slot. I followed instructions and cancelled the prompt for audio drivers (by the hardware wizard) and installed via the Creative Labs CD. The installation went well and the card appears to be
functioning normally. My problem is that whenever I boot up the computer, the hardware wizard keeps discovering my card as new hardware and prompting me for a driver. I have been cancelling each time, but the last time I put in the CD, and had it search for the driver in the Audio/Drivers/driver/WinXP/bin, but it didn't seem to be able to locate the driver to satisfy itself.
What should I do (besides turning off the hardware wizard) to end this cycle of "new hardware found" episodes every time I boot.
I hope that someone can help with this.
ps: I would have liked to speak briefly with a Creative Tech Support person, but they seem to have conveniently left any telephone contact numbers off of their website, so I must depend on your help. Thanks.

    Hi,
Please check the "Support" folder on your installation CD for Customer Support contact details.

  • Major Problem with Soundblaster x-fi Fatal1ty Extreme Gamer Pro Ser

I just built a new system and everything is working great except my sound. I have installed, uninstalled, reinstalled, checked bios, swapped pci slots, used disc drivers, used drivers from soundblaster auto update, tried speaker connections, headphones, and I am at my wits end here. I can hear sound very faintly with headphones/speakers and yes I am sure I am in the right jack and I tried all the jacks just to be certain. If anyone has any ideas please post.
My system specs are Windows XP Pro SP2 , Intel Core 2 Duo @2.33Ghz, 2GB of Corsair DDR2 RAM,
XFX Geforce 8800 GT 52DDR3 Alpha Dog, and an MSI P35 Neo Combo Mobo with a 650W Power Supply.

anyone please? A post, a link, advice, anything? There is nothing that I can think of to try. I uninstalled and reinstalled in every possible way. Put the card in another PC to be sure that it wasn't defecti've and it worked fine, checked and rechecked to be certain that each time I reinstalled that there were no previous traces of creative drivers left on the system that could cause a conflict. On board audio disabled in bios, tried both PCI slots on my computer. On another note, I took my old X-fi extreme music card and that wouldn't work in my PC either.

Okay, I did my best searching and I couldn't find anything that matched all your descriptors. I did do a search on both decoder numbers. SB0256 returned very little results, but with SB0466, I was able to find this ebay listing:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...6_fvi%3D&_rdc=
This card isn't a Champion like you suggested. And with my complete lack of knowledge, I don't know what I/O dri've bay means. But since it is PCI and the decoder matches the number you gave me, this card should be adequete, right?
Whether it works or not, my search indicated it might be very hard for me to find that card (or any PCI card for that matter). Everything I saw was out of stock. I know this is a forum for Creative, but are there any other manufacturers that will allow me to accomplish my goal, either with current cards, or discontinued cards? Thanks again
Oh, and I will vote on that thread. I probably won't wait for them to release the decoder since I need it now, but I still believe Creative should be giving the customer what they want

  • Strange problem with 2 different Soundblaster car

I have a very strange problem with these 2 cards First i had soundblaster li've value which was installed with the default windows drivers. Although it'swas installed correctly in device manager, i hear no sound and when i go to control panel->sounds and audio devices, under the volume tab there?was no audio device and everything?was greyed. But when i restart or shutdown the pc the windows sound suitable for this action played without problems. Media player couldn't play any sound, neither youtube. I downloaded and installed the Li'veDrvUni-Pack(ENG). Everything worked ok but after a while i had the same problem. So i decided to buy a different sound card, the Li've Audigy SE. Installed, worked fine, but after a short period of time i have the same problem. Most of the times when i boot into Windows the sound is ok, after a while (5 minutes or hour) i hear no sound and in the control panel i see the no audio device message although in control panel the card appears to be installed correctly. Any ideas?

    Yes, I agree.
But my question: is there any software trick that I could use to fix the situation.
For example, how can I ask 2 keyboards about each one's NumLock state ?
I know about getLockingKeyState() function, but it always returns the NumState of the regular keyboard. How can I know and/or change the NumLock state of the small one ?
    Thanks

  • Problem with 5.1 surround sound

I have a Pavilion p7-1414 with all of the standard hardware. I just got a set of Logitech Z506 speakers and the volume will randomly shift up and down. I have tried reconfiguring the speakers in the control panel and made sure the wires are held in place. I think it might be a problem with the sound card but i didn't notice it with m old speakers (Logitech Z-320).

    Hey xnathanmeyerx,
Please select Line-In of Sound Blaster Omni Surround 5.1 as the default Input for the Mac computer. It can be configured at Sound under the Mac System Preferences. I hope this helps.

  • Problem With Screen Surround

    Hi guys ,
My MacBook is a few years old now , however tonight have noticed that the surround is coming away from the glass . The screen has been replaced at an Apple Shop about a year ago now ...
Was wondering if others have experienced this , whether I can re-attach it myself ( is it just glued on ¿¿ ) or whether I need to book a GeniusBar appointment and get it repaired ...
    Thanks for any help

You’ve run into the main problem with user forums. Since no one from Apple reads or posts to these forums except as users, you’ve got to hope that someone reads your post who has had the exact same problem as yours. And has found a solution for the problem.
