Problems with spdif sig
Hello,
My computer has an audigy 2 platinum which i have connected through a spdif cable with the creative ddts-00 decoder. The decoder receives the signal but it is disturbed and you can hear the sound stuttering. I have the latest drivers for my soundcard. My motherboard has an onboard soundcard with spdif output and if i use that one the signal is received cleary even with a full load of the cpu.
I hope that someone can help me :-D
My configuration:
Asus A7N8X-E
Ati Radeon 9800 pro
Soundblaster audigy 2 platinum
2 x maxtor 60 gb s-ata ( in raid configuration )

Audigy 2 problems with spdif out not working and cracking appear
Hello everyone,
I am new in this forum but after searching through it i decided to post as i din't find a problem exactly similar to mine.
I have a Creative audigy 2 ZS plugged on my computer with this configuration : Gygabyte P35 DS3, Quad core Q6600, Kingston 2 gb.
From the beginning of my purchase i did not have any problem of cracking or connection problems in spdif with digital din in either XP or Vista. Last week end i decided to re install XP after a virus infection with XP SWEET wich install directly the drivers of my peripherals like the audigy.
The audigy is connected to my speakers : Creative? 5. kit 5700 via the digital din connection and without any analog connection as i selected digital out only in my settings.
Everything was working fine until 2 days ago when? while watching a divx the sound stopped working. i checked everything in m connection and everything was good as well as my speakers. finally i connected the audigy via analog cables to the speakers to find that, if i select digital out only no sound could be heard and finally that poping and cracking sounds started to appear.
I don't know what happened with my system as it never did that before in any of my configurations.
When i reboot my computer, the digital out start working again to finally stop 5 minutes later.
If somebody can help me is help would be most welcome.
Thank you!Well, I do not know much about the red light thingy, but if the S-Bracket works well, it should be not problem, unless you can't get anything from the S-Bracket.

I'm experiencing an issue updating my IDSM-2's. I'm currently at 5.1(1p1)S223.0V1.0, I tried applying the latest signatures (S224), but failed and got the following message:
"Exception during sensor reimaging: Timed out while waiting for sensor to come up for SENSOR. Erorr(s) encountered during sensor update, this sensor update is aborted"
I tried it again on another sensor and got the same result. In both cases, the sensors became unresponsive and couldn't even reboot them from IPS MC, IDM, CLI.
Is anyone else having issues with the latest S224.Same or simular problem with S224 for 5.1d on IPS 4240. I can see package update script running on a sensor, it will never quit. Sensor reboot from shell helps, sensor reports 224 after reboot and working normally.

Hi all,
I'm new to the Mac world, looking to make a full migration from my Windows machine. Having got just about every setting just the way i want it, I've stumbled upon one last setting that refuses to cooperate.
Having transferred all relevant items from Outlook to Mail, I just needed to move the sig over so I emailed it to myself, copied it into the new sig window, saved it and tried to use it in emails. It should look something like this:
Details
PNG image
Text
Set of five PNG images
(this is centred)
For some reason however, Mail keeps adding random line breaks (eg. there are two spaces instead of one between 'details' and the first image and so on). Although I can correct it when editing the individual sig in Preferences, as soon as I 'click off' or try to use the edited sig in an email it just goes back to adding line breaks. This makes absolutely no sense!!
I would really appreciate some help with this; am I just being dense and missing something?
Please note I have tried composing the sig from scratch as well and get the same problem.
Many thanks in advance,
gown666What software are you running on your MBPr? Are you using MacOS X 10.8.5 or MacOS X 10.9? Probably you need to update your MBPr to Mavericks and GarageBand 10.0.0.

Hello All,
I have Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatalty Pro Series and Digital I/O module on my Windows Vista 32 bit machine. I have connected my speakers using 3 analog outputs of the sound card and they are working great and I am able to hear exact 5. sound, when I play 5. DVDs from Power DVD player.
Now, I have connected my external DVD player optical output to SPDIF input on I/O module. now, I am getting only front L/R speakers, instead of 5.. My DVD has 5. sound, but I am able to get only 2 channels.
Please let me know, what configuration I have to use to get 5..
Thankshello, doesnt dans drivers or the dell driver trcik sort this out in vista now tho?
if ua search in the vista forum on here there are loads of threads about getting DD/DTS tab working again in vista 32-bit and some have even doen in 64-bit vsita but think more peeps haveing trounle in 64-bit vista than 32-bit vista....this is what i dotn get loads of peeps on here asking bout why only 2 speakers are working on this card and only workign throguth software when im dam sure dan got it workign again for all audigy cards and most xfi cards but some peeps have had trouble wit htese pro fatality gamer cards (which is same model as mine,no for fact that the plat gamer that coems with the module that ua put in to CD dri've area doesnt take this hack but think most other xfi cards can be made to run again and this is why creative look so bad as this bloke got it workign again so proved that vista CAN AND DOES support DD/DTS on some of its cards,as people have posted screen shots of the tab in place in vista...
hope this helps and go look in the vista threads ur find what im on abotu and some will help ua other than saying get a new card so at leats try this first before ua send it back or sale it...im waiting on my I/O module in post and if i cant get mine working as i've got same speakersas u to im gunan sale mine on ebay i think and go with what ever card can do HARDWARE decoding!!!!
creative=liers lol come on creative brign back the features that we all no vista can use ur losing most of ur life long costermers fast...P.S sorry bout bad spelling had to do this in megga hurry.so my bad if all spelt wrong ok... -
Megaworks THX 250D - problem with SPDIF?
Hello everybody, I hope someone can shed some light on a strange phenomenon I'm experiencing with my Megaworks THX 250D speaker system. When connected to my computer using SPDIF, the speakers produce a short, loud "cracking" sound everytime any audio playback is started. After that everything works just fine, but when you're clicking through some folders in your file explorer, every click generates a windows system sound and thereby a loud "crack".When I use the normal analog audio jack, everything works as expected. My computer is based on a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS4 mainboard (Rev .) which has a Realtek audio chipset onboard (Realtek ALC889A codec, High Definition Audio). The latest Realtek driver is installed (Version 6.0..5497). Any idea would be appreciated.
The Megaworks THX 250Ds don't support Dolby Digital input. They're extremely good analogue speakers. The SPDIF output mode is for receviers or speakers which support compressed (lossy) audio decoding.
There would be no point in using SPDIF unless you were connecting to a home theatre receiver or a speaker system with digital input.
What you're experiencing is normal for analogue speakers. As for quality improvements with digital connections, that's debatable though it does depend on your soundcard. -
Problems with spdif on SB Audigu
I connect my Audigu with reci'ver Pioneer AX5 through spdif and set "5. mode" and "digital output only". When I start test I hear only front right and front left. Question: why I'm not hear other channels (center and surround back).
P.S
If I play DVD on PowerDVD 6 I hear all channels!ILFA,

how should i configure it's
In my previous Realtek audio card i had an option for "speaker fill" and then i got good surround (but not with optical connection).Hello Visionblind,

I have a problem with Imac mid 2010 graphics card (ATI Radeon 5670 512MB)
I have a problem with Imac mid 2010 graphics card (ATI Radeon 5670 512MB). When I play video formats like xvid, mkv, avi iMac freezes and emits horrible sound,in service said the problem is not overheating. Not a problem with memory or hard disk because I placed second correct parts. The same problem is with OSX 10.6.8 and 10.8.4 and other players.Apple hardware test found no problem and tech tool pro found no fault.
After five days of testing in the service they can not found fault and it was decided to change the graphics card.
New graphics have been tested for two days but it is not reproduced divx ... but their test software which did not find any fault on the old graphics...
Do I have the right to complain if repair does not fix the problem because I use non apple softwere and video formats. You could look at the System Profile for the info it presents for the card. But why wouldn't you think it's not up to date if you have the latest install (according to your sig above)?
What program are you trying to run? Is there anything in the system log?
I think it's the program that's having the problem and not anything with your video software. -

Message Edited by raflevi on 05-4-2009 02:38 [email protected]My apologies about not explaining further about disabling SPDIF passthrough. See the steps below to enable DDL encoding.
***Before proceeding please make sure that you've purchased, installed and activated the DDL pack***
. Open Creative Audio Console, go to the Decoder tab to disable driver level encoding and enable SPDIF passthrough (this is done by selecting SPDIF passthrough or any similar option that enable the use of an external decoder) instead of using the built-in decoders.
2. Open up your playback devices window (right click on the speaker icon on the taskbar and select playback devices) and set analog speakers (not SPDIF) as your default device. This is VERY IMPORTANT step, or else you get the "the device is busy" error when enbaling DDL encoding.
3. In the Audio Console, select the Encoder tab and enable DLL encoding.
Note:
When DDL encoding is enabled, it makes exclusi've use of your SPDIF connection so, no passthrough is possible. The default output format when using DDL encoding is 48KHz/6 bits. If you make use of any AC3 audio filters (such as ac3filter/others included in codec packs/media player softwares) when DLL encoding is enabled, then please change their output device to analog speakers instead of SPDIF.
To use back SPDIF passthrough (when playing back media with a pre-encoded audio source), open up Audio Console and disable DDL encoding and in the Playback Devices window change the default device to SPDIF. If you make use of any AC3 audio filters (such as ac3filter/others included in codec packs/media player softwares) then please change their output device back to SPDIF. You may also wish to change back your output format to 92KHz/24 bits (right click on SPDIF and select properties -> Advanced tab).

Printing problem with Canon LBP3370
I'm having an issue relating to the Canon LBP3370.
I also notice that Canon Europe seem to have removed all trace of any MacOSX drivers from the support page for this printer.
I have an 'early' MBP running 10.6.6 w/ Suitcase3, QXP8.5 and CS5.
Just bought a MacMini updated to 10.6.7. Same software. Same files. Same fonts.
I have one file which gets printed weekly from a template in QXP. It prints fine on the MBP on a Canon LBP3370 using the last 'auto updated' driver. Not sure how to check the version number of the driver, but it works. I looked in 'About this Mac' and looked up the printer, and it says driver version is 2.0 - then again, it says the same for the version on the MacMini, which was installed today using an installer marked 2.24.
On the MacMini, the same file, on the same software yields an output error to the printer and requests the printer be switched to 'raster' mode in 'Quality' settings in order to print, which I understand yields diminished quality on more complex files.
I experimented with the file, removing elements and isolating them in another document to test if they print OK on the MacMini. 99% of all the page elements print just fine including a complex EPS without switching to 'raster' mode. All except for... wait for it... a SINGLE weight of the Adobe Helvetica Neue LT Std OpenType font. The document has about seven separate weights of the same font in use, and it is only one of them that triggers this problem.
I've scanned the font completely for errors and corruption and it gets a clean bill of health. The exact same font, on the MBP, using the same software and the same printer, but used on 10.6.6 prints perfectly without having to switch to raster mode.
Bizarre.
What actually is the difference between UFR and Raster modes anyway? How do I fix this? It seems more likely to be a 10.6.7 issue than a Canon driver issue specifically... I notice the webs full of people commenting on 10.6.7 causing problems with OpenType fonts.
Any ideas?sig
Not really, thanks anyway. I'm already on a later driver than that.
PAHU
Thanks for the input. I'm still somewhat confused by the aparrent existence of two different problems - first the sheer number of complaints that 10.6.7 in itself has broken a good deal of OpenType font functionality, particularly in the PostScript flavour, and second that users have been having similar specific problems with this exact printer which appears to be a result of a driver in need of fixing.
I'm not sure which option to place my bet on, or whether indeed the two are, in fact, connected and the development of the 2.24 and later drivers are in essence 'fixes' for the 'breakage' introduced by 10.6.7 in general.
The part that confuses me most is that it is a single weight out of five weights of the same font used in the same document which causes the problem. Part of me says that the solution is to just abandon that specific weight, but then another part of me says that I'm managing some three thousand faces on this system, any of which could need to be used, and I cannot test all of them to disable or deactivate the weights (or families) which might cause issues.
Can you point me in the direction of a clean, pure source of 2.24 for UK English, which I cannot find on the Canon Europe website at all (certainly on the UK site, all Mac drivers for this model appear to have been discontinued and removed from the site, even though the vestigial tech notes for the printer still on display on the product page state that MacOSX is supported). I'm prepared to try a reinstall from a fresh source to see if it shifts the problem. Otherwise, as you say, it would appear that another 'bug' has been found which the attempted fix has not cleared. -
Fed up with BT vision ....problems with on demand
2011 has been a bad year with BT i think the customer service has been **bleep** !!!! I am yet again having problems with on demand.
I was in middle of watching a film yesturday when it went off. I have tried watching the film again and tried others and it keeps feezing. Any one know how to sort this out. It also afects my phone line....i have lots of crackling. I am so fed up of phoning them up having to go through the proedures and being threatened of being charged if they came out and find its my end.
I am thinking of leaving them all together

Could you please someone help me with this?
ThanksSorry to bump this, but I'm having the exact same error tonight on my HTPC, any chance you found out what the problem was ?
To make matters worse, it's not happening every single time, but maybe every 4 out of 5 boots (same kernel, no changes in between.)
I thought this was a kernel issue related to this:
https://lkml.org/lkml/2014/3/10/359
I've tried adding atkbd and psmouse to my mkinitcpio.conf MODULES section and rebuilt, but no change.
I changed the NVidia driver from nvidia-304xx to nvidia-full-beta-all ( 334.21 ) from AUR but it had the same error at the same place.
Here's the part from `dmesg` where it borks:

==================
Boy, you are not kidding, I was running both the cloud and CS6, and I was ready to throw in the towel.
I have changed computer's twice now, have a solid state hd, (which I love) with 10 terabytes on externals, I run NOTHING except adobe's stuff on my HD now, and only one version of it, and it runs like a dream.
So, I updated the OS to win 8.1, updated my peripherals,
I dumped CS6 (hated to, but for some reason my 3D won't work on it, it works fine with the cloud) but in CS6 the software was turning it off after adobe's last update.
I've made a virtual machine for my development environments which do not play well with adobe's stuff.
My rule of thumb has always been double what the manufacturer states is required for RAM, but imho, with my current upgrades: upgraded to win8.1, and other peripherals, spent two weeks changing stuff over and it's about 100 times better than trying to run CC and CS6. - No kidding, the change is astronomical
But for anything PC I'm way over powered, and for Adobe, I'm still underpowered.
Next, I'll just get a mac for Adobe, and stick with my pc's for ms/CentOS. Too, it seems like since the cloud was initiated Adobe is rolling out the updates faster and changes without warning. The processor/3D issue, I had no warning on it, just woke up one day and "no more 3d" :S
But I do love the cloud, so, guess there's got to be some dark lining to it. <g>
