Problems with Step & Repeat

I have having a problem when I step and repeat and the text in the textbox does not stay in the same place.
Below is how I step and repeat the bottom image.
Below here is what my result is. See how "What's Your" is now at the top of the black box? Anyone know a solution? It makes for really crabby press people when we have to re-print jobs.

Is there any objects in your layout near the offending type that might have a "text wrap" setting on them?
If you are making a habit of creating impositions within inDesign, it might be wise to place each page as a PDF, that way objects won't accidentally move. And since you are stepping and repeating a placed object, you also don't have to worry about any missing objects.

Gradient problems with stepping single and full colour

Hi, just wondering is anyone else is having problems on printed
jobs with the gradient having definite steps between the
different tints. We had no problems with CS3, but since updating to CS4 we
have had jobs showing this stepping problem. Has Indesign changed settings?
Any help would be appreciated I have checked all the the PDF settings as our RIP works from the PDF's to create the plates. The RIP is a Harlequin Rip.

InDesign only splits things up when you flatten, as far as I know. If you use an unflattened format, PDF1.4 or higher, there is no flattening, so the problem may well be in HOW you are exporting. Of course, it sounds like you do ads, and I send flattened ads to publications myself because I don't trust that they know how or have the technology to handle a proper transparent PDF, but I don't distill, and I try to avoid situations that would cause problems to begin with.
Take a look at the Transparency Flattener Preset you are using when you export. I believe the default is [Medium Resolution] which has a gradient resolution of 150 ppi. If possible, save your distiller settings as a .joboptions file and use that to export the same file and compare the distilled and exported versions.

Problem with step 2 in user exit.

I have a problem with the variables user exit in the bex analyzer. I have created a variable user exit and this is used as user authorization, and this variables is optional and enabled to entry . When i debugg the user exit, i put the break point in the step 1, in the step 0 and in the step 2, i can check the step1 and 0 but in the step 2 don´t stop.
Why does this happen?

Variable enabled to entry are not are not candidate to step 2. This step is only called once per exit variable not enabled to entry.

Can't INSTALL: Problem with steps 3

I'm trying to install Dreamweaver. Actually, it looks like
it's installed but I'm having problems with the following steps.
Step 3 : Please go to the “Activation” folder and
copy 1 file called “Dreamweaver.exe” and
paste/overwrite it
To c:\program files\adobe\dreamweaver cs3 (or wherever you
have installed Dreamweaver CS3 in)
A message will pop up and ask you whether to replace existing
files, just click “Yes”
Every time I click on the file in the activation folder it
say this....
"\My
Documents\Activation\configuration\Workspace\Designer.xml
The application will not have a correct layout. Please load
one from Windows>workspace"
How do I fix this?

Problem with linksys repeater

I am using a linksysWR54 G wireless router. I recently purchased a linksys repeater to extend a signal throughout my house. I cannot get the repeater to work. I press the reset button and then the button for automatic configuration. But it does not seem to recognize the wireless router. However when I take it to my neighbor's house, who has a similar model wireless router, and push reset, then automatic configuration at his house it functions perfectly. Is this a software problem? I hate to sound stupid, but because I using a Macintosh, I'm not even sure how to download the latest software or what is available. Currently I am using
version 3.03.6 thanks

Although I am having a similiar problem with the wre54g extender and mac laptops I can tell you that the easiest way to configure the extender if it is a Version 2 wre54g is to run an ethernet cable from the router to to the port on the front of the extender (small tab can be lifted). After that open your browser and type 192.168.1.240 and enter, user name is blank and password is admin. From there configure it exactly as your router is configured. It could be that your router is encrypted etc...
If it is a version 1 you will have to reset the extender (paperclip for 15 seconds on side) then plug into a socket and look for it on the list of available networks (linksys r.....). connect to it using a static IP of 192.168.1.5 and a gateway of 255.255.255.0 - check with linksys to verify. Once connected open safari and type 192.168.1.240 and follow above.
Make sure to change the ip address to something like 241 or maybe a static within the range of the routers addressing scheme. I think this is the problem I am having... The mac is not picking up the extenders ip. I am waiting to hear back from tech support to verify.

Problem with Step and Repeat (transform)

Hi All.
I tried a search on this but came up with nothing, so if this has already been posted let me know.
In CS3 Illustrator: When I click on a horizontal line, and go to object/transform and key in a number such as -1p6, indicating that I want the line to repeat downward 1p6, the line instead repeats upward 1p6. I have tried using the ruler from point A to point B in a downward direction, but end up with horizontal rules that move upward.
What am I doing wrong? Or, is it the software? I had the same problem in AI 10, but not in previous versions of Illustrator.
I've been working with Illustrator almost as long as it's been around, so I'm pretty familiar with it. This is just an annoying problem that slows me down.

You're using the regular Move command, right? Object > Transform > Move (or Command - Shift - M, or hit the Enter key)? Then entering a negative number ( -1p6) in the Vertical field? And it moves the object up? Try trashing your prefs?

Problem with step mode in ultrabeat

I use step mode in ultrabeat (when everything becomes yellow). Lots of tweaks are done in step mode, and everything sounds correctly. But after reopen the project some voices sounds like they are in voice mode, not in step mode, even if the step mode is on.
This problem could be fixed by clicking on that voices. But there are 25 of them, it is really annoying. Could some one tell me, why does it happen? Thank you…

Ultrabeat is not so much a sample player, but more a synthesizer. Your squeek probably has to do with the synth parameters of that sound in UB.

Problem with step input using MIDI Keyboard

Hi,
I'm new to Logic Pro X and wanted to know how I can use my MIDI keyboard as a source of Step Input Recording.
I created a new software instrument track, then open Window - > Show step input keyboard.
If I click the keyboard on the screen, it records notes with no problem. However, if I play my MIDI keyboard while on-screen keyboard is shown, it does not record anything even though I hear the sound I played.
Is there anything I can do about this?

EDIT : Actually I could solve the problem. I needed to click "MIDI IN" button on "MIDI Region" window.

Have you opened the Audio MIDI Setup app on your mac? It's found in your Launchpad app (on your doc) and Other folder it should be in there. Make sure your MIDI keyboard is recognized and configured for the mac. Also look at your MIDI settings within Logic as well.

Problem with step Acquision and subsequnet consolidation

Hi Gurus,
I am trying to do step acquision, problem is as follows.
A Ltd having % of holding @ first consolidation in BLtd 60%.
I have executed COI and posted elimination entries with 60%
In the next consolidation period I have increased my % of holding to 70%
I have executed COI task in the next period, system is taking that additional 10% only for subsequent consolidation.
Not referring old 60% ie 60%+10%=70%
System taking 0.00 => 10.00
Please help me to resolve the issue.

Normally the COI activities as follows:
1.First Consolidation u2013 Occurs when a new consolidation unit is acquired / established and it is consolidated within the group.
2.Subsequent Consolidation u2013 Occurs when a consolidation unit is already consolidated in the group and the only changes in its equity are due to changes in the retained earnings. In the case of a subsequent consolidation the minority interests in the above mentioned items are posted.
3.Increase or Decrease in Capitalization u2013 Occurs when there is a proportional increase / reduction of the equity and of the participation, without any changes in the percentage of ownership. In the case of an increase / reduction in capitalization, the increase in the stockholdersu2019 equity is offset with the change in the book value of the participation.
4.Step Acquisition u2013 Occurs when there is an increase in the book value of a participant already consolidated and in the percentage of ownership. In the case of a step acquisition, the increase in the book value of the participation is offset with the change in the minority interests. Therefore, there is a reclassification between the minority interest items and the stockholdersu2019 equity items of the subsidiary, due to the change in the percentage of ownership.
5.Distribution of Dividends u2013 For subsidiary companies only
The system is taking only 10% because it is taking only the changes in its equity are due to changes in the retained earnings. Execute balance carry forward then the COI in next consolidation period is in same fiscal year.This should work now.

Problems with getting repeating patterns to display properly

Using Oracle's Map Definition Tool I am trying to import repeating patterns through the "import image" functionality, found under "map metadata --> styles --> area", but I am having problems getting them to work properly (i.e. they don't repeat as they should). Part of the problem is the poor quality of repeating patterns images that where send my way.
Therefore I have 2 questions I hoped someone here could answer me:
1) Is there an easily accessible collection of decent+ quality repeating patterns somewhere on the web where I could look for patterns to use?
2) What is the image resolution used by the Oracle Map Definition Tool, or in other words, what is the minimum resolution I need to make sure the pictures are to make them downscale properly to a single pattern image through the "import image" functionality?

For starters, you could try any of the pattern images/icons available in your popular word/graphics applications such as Word, Powerpoint, or Adobe. For instance in PowerPoint you can find a set of Patterns under Format Auto Shape > Fill > Fill Effects > Pattern. You can generate your own pattern images that closely follow the design of these from PowerPoint.
When you import an image, as long as you make sure the preferred width/height of the image is set to identical with the real width/height of the image itself, MapViewer will not attempt any scaling during rendering, thus preserving the native resolution of your pattern image.

Problem with Nested Repeatable Forms

I didn't explain it righ, sorry. The task also repeats. So, there is tasks, which repeats, inside it there is weektable, which repeats, and inside it there is data which also repeats.
Anyway, I tried to create a repeatable form inside another repeatable form with the bindings you mentioned but LCD doesn't let me.
I can check "Repeat Subform for each data item" in the subData form binding settings but not int the subWeek.

I don't know the example but maybe I can give you some hints though. Your stacktrace doesn't look to be related to a datasource issue. So I see two questions:
1) What's about the error?
2) How to change the datasource from Oracle to MS SQLServer 2000?

1)
The client tries to connect to the RMI-port of an OC4J instance to do some JNDI lookups, but cannot connect to the server socket.
Some questions:
Is your OC4J instance up and running BEFORE you start the client?
If you answer with yes:
Which port does the RMI server listen on? (netstat -a)
Is this port the same the client tries to use?
If you answer with yes:
Do you connect locally or via a network (do you use a firewall)?
2) The steps should include:
a) Create the database schema in SQLServer (this might include a conversion of ORACLE specific SQL to SQLServer specific syntax, Sequences and stuff like that)
b) Add the correct JDBC.Driver to your project
c) Create and test the datasource (try to use JDev)
d) Make sure that the EJB3 persistence implementation of OC4J (toplink) does support all necessary features of the MS Database. For example I'm not sure if native db sequences are supported for other RDBMS than Oracle. Don't know if you need them for your example
In theory this should all be quite simple and you don't have to write db specific code. ;-)

AIR: Problem with Spry Repeat and JavaScript Action

AIR does not allow to execute them. How can i solve that problem?
It seems to that AIR Runtime don't like the generated Functions by

Problem with Spry:Repeat and Slide Effect on IE6

I run the website for my kids' hockey association and I'm not
a web programmer. I am trying to display events in a Spry region
using spry:repeat. The data is coming from a Google Calendar . I
display the event date and title on the main page. I have the
onclick set to call a javascript function that exposes the details
using the spry slide effect. It works ok except in IE6.
The following creates my dataset from a method call to a
Coldfusion component that returns the XML I need:

seeing while the page loads?
