Problems with swiping to Powerpoint

This is a problem that I've been encountering for quite awhile. Usually, I have multiple powerpoint files and other programs (such as Chrome) open in full screen, and I switch between screens using the swipe action on the trackpad. However, if I swipe from e.g. Chrome to the powerpoint on the left, the powerpoint will remain there for a second, before swiping on its own a second time to the next powerpoint on its left.
It's beginning to be a real nuisance when I need to refer to things quickly, is there any way I can stop this? Or is there a problem with my Macbook?

I am having the same issue and have not found any to correct it.

I try to import, the computer blow.
    What I can do?

there have been lots of issues regarding this, however, I
have found that if I export my ppt as individual jpeg slides I can
then use the "insert > Slide > Image Slide" command to bring
in my ppt slides, I have tried everything else as well but what was
happening to me was Captivate 3 was losing all of my text and text
animation. Now my animation is not critical, however, the text is
very important of course. So now I have stagnat slides, a bit
boring but at least I was able to finish my project.

  • Problem with printing from Powerpoint 2007

Am printing to pdf from Powerpoint 2007 (using Acrobat 8.1.4), using the Print>Select Printer>Adobe PDF route, but the pdfs that are being created look terrible (distorted, washed out colours, etc) and print even worse. Is there an incompatibility problem, or has a setting gone awry? Thanks in advance.

It may vary. I have seen some strange results from OFFICE 2007, where there apparently are some hooks built into the MS software. You might try with OFFICE 2003 or OpenOffice. I have used OFFICE 2003 for some things and gotten excellent results, where OFFICE 2007 created issues. I know that it is OFFICE 2007 since I also played with different versions of Acrobat for Office 2007 and got the same strange results, where things were fine with OFFICE 2003. There may be an issue with the
I just created a new PDF from PPT 2007 and the results were looking fine. For folks to be able to comment more effectively, they need to be able to duplicate what you did and I am not sure that can be done with the information you have provided. Specifically, what job settings file did you use in the Adobe PDF printer, etc.

  • Magic Mouse problems with swiping/selection

I've had two Magic Mice on OS X10.9.2. With both, the system deselects swiping in System Prefences after I select it. Pages 'bounce' in Word and Powerppoint, such that it's extremely hard to edit documents and presentations. Setting the sensitivity doesn't seem to help. Randomly, I can't click-select text in documents in Word.
    Ideas?

Aaannnnnddddddd.... this has been really helpful - not.
A piece of advice for everyone, then: don't buy a Magic Mouse if you're using Word or Powerpoint. They're trash.

  • Problems with swiping, highlighting text, not working properly

Hello and new to forum as well as new to BB10. I have the Q10 model and really like it alot. However, these swiping techniques or gestures have me puzzled. Sometimes they work, and most times I find myself swiping the hell out of the screeen out of aggravation. Is there any way this can be tested as to working properly since it is a touch activated control?
I really find myself swiping three times, 5 times or more, just to get to the hub. I cannot close out a screen with one swipe. It will not copy test without repeated taps. The circle pointer is hard to get on. I realize my swiping is a new technique to me, but could it be the protective cover that was put on it? Can anyone help me try to fix this very annoying problem as I am not used to repeated attempts at trying to do something so simple as closing a program or moving to another location tab. I sure would appreciate it.
    Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Sorry to hear you are having issues with your BlackBerry Q10 smartphone navigational gestures. Please view the follow link as it takes you to a "BlackBerry Q10 Gestures Overview".
The screen protector is some cases can effect the gesture input on the BlackBerry Q10 smartphone screen. This is simply due to the increased thickness of the scratch resistant liner on the touch screen.

  • Having a ridiculous problem with swiping (4S)

Bought a 4S yesterday, first thing I noticed was that the notifications "swipe down" did nothing; okay, I can live with that. Today, after restarting, my screen is dividing into different sections with outlines, around apps and such. I can't swipe up down left or right. I have to double press everything and even then there are problems. Did I turn on some weird setting or do I have a real problem? I restored the software as well...I don't know what to do

Could you describe the problem in more detail? What gesture are you using and what used to happen that isn't happening now, or the other way around?

  • Next Slide Problem with Flash In PowerPoint

When I embed a Flash file into a PPT presentation and play Slide Show, my page down (Slide Show advance) key doesn't work once the animation is underway.  If I mouse-click the outside borders, it advances properly.
    Any suggestions on preventing this?
    Thanks Mike

    Try the following
close all browser windows and open Windows Explorer
in the address bar type %appdata%\Adobe
delete the 'Flash Player' folder in there
in the address bar type %appdata%\Macromedia
delete the 'Flash Player' folder in there

  • Mac G4 Problems with "Application Launch Failure"

I'm not sure if this is the right forum for my questions, so if not, please LMK where I should be asking for help.
I have a G4 running Mac OS X 10.3.9. In the last two weeks, I have had a number of errors involving an Application Launch Failure. This started immediately after I had the foolish idea of shutting down my computer for the night to save power. I selected Shut Down from the drop down menu, the computer shut down and everything seemed ok till the next morning when I started up. Since that time, I have had the application launch failure problem with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Graphic Converter, Yahoo Messenger, and assorted other programs.
The error message I get is for instance: Application Launch Failure The application "Word" could not be launched because of a shared library error:1<MicrosoftWord> <CarbonLib> <CFMPriv_CarbonCore> " or a variation depending on the program.
I have "restored" the computer, I have reinstalled Mac OS X 10.3.9, reinstalled the relevant Microsoft Office suite, and I still get the error message.
Does anyone have any suggestions (other than getting a new system)?
    TIA for any help.
    Ronnie Wexler

Boot from the Install CD, but do not Install. Choose Disk Utility off the Installer Menu as your first action. Select your Hard Drive and choose ( Repair ). Repeat until it comes clean (or gets stuck). Then (Repair Permissons ) once.

  • PowerPoint experienced a serious problem with the 'adobe presenter powerpoint com addin' add-in.

I've installed Adobe Presenter V7.0.7 Build 7746. When I open an existing PowerPoint file and try and use Presenter, I get the following error: PowerPoint experienced a serious problem with the 'adobe presenter powerpoint com addin' add-in. If you have seen this message multiple times, you should disable this add-in and check to see if an update is available. Do you want to disable this add-in?
No, I don't want to disable it. When I click No, PowerPoint stops working. I get a message that says: Microsoft PowerPoint has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly, Widows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. My only choice is to click the Close program button.
When I open the PPT file again, I get the same "experienced a serious problem" message. If anyone has a solution to this, I'd appreciate knowing what it is. It took me a while just to get the Presenter option to appear in the PowerPoint toolbar. Now that I have it, it's not working.
    Thank you!

Thank you for your quick reply. Here are the answers to your questions.
    1. The file I'm having issues with was not created using any version of Presenter. It is simply a PowerPoint file.
    2. The file is a PPT not PPTX.
    3. I am running Windows7 and Office 2010.
I think I might have found the solution to the problem. I opened the PPT file and saved it as a PPTX file. Then I clicked the Presenter option in the PowerPoint toolbar and was able to select different Presenter options with no issues. I opened other PPTX files and I did not get the error window stating 'PowerPoint experienced a serious problem with the 'adobe presenter powerpoint com addin' add-in'.
This seems to work. So, it appears that any PPT file needs to be saved as a PPTX file before using Presenter. If you have another solution that I might be able to keep in my back pocket (in case this happens again and what I did does not work), then please answer. Otherwise, I'm good now.
    Thanks!

  • T60 Docing station problems with PowerPoint 2007

For some reason when i am editing powerpoint slides (specirfically resizing or moving pictures) the power drops out on all USB peripherals for a matter of seconds and then comes backl... which makes the resize quite difficult! Im using a Lenovo USB mouse and Keyboard that came withthe docking station.
If i use the laptop it doesnt happen, and if i use the USBs on the machien itself it doesnt happen...
it is leaving me very confused....

With my T60 (2007 CTO) in the dock....When i run PPT 07 and try to resize any graphics, the mouse is erratic and the USB sound goes on and off...also the "battery" icon flashes....No such problems with graphics in word 07
If I plug directly into the usb port on the machine (while docked-no problem).  Also works fine undocked.
my R60 and T43 are fine...any thoughts anyone??

  • Problems with displaying tables from windows software in Powerpoint

I have been having some problems with powerpoint presentations that include tables from specific windows software. These tables were produced with the software package called SPSS for windows. The font that's used for these tables is Tahoma. The powerpoint presentations were made on a windows operated computer where the tables were pasted into the slides as pictures.
When opening these presentations on my MacBook these tables are presented in a way that is impossible to read. The tables are mostly empty while some unclear symbols are inconsitently divided over the table. The original table existed out of a combination between text in the first row and collom and numbers in the other cells.
Has anybody had any experience with this problem or something similar? Any suggestions on what to look for when trying to solve this problem?
    Thanks in advance!!
    Regards.
    Jochem

Depending on the software you use to display the presentation on your Mac I suggest posting your request either here
    http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1191
    or here
    http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=774
If you are using a non-Apple-software (e.g. NeoOffice or OpenOffice) I suggest the support forums for the specific product you use.
You will hopefully get more helpful answers in these forums as you would get here, as this issue is not a Windows/Mac OS X compatibility issue but a Powerpoint compatibility issue.

  • Keynote conversion:  Powerpoint found a problem with content....

    Hi all,
MS office is killing me and I'd appreciate any pointers and comments
    Here's the situation:
    1. Keynote file (multi-revised over the years) exported to powerpoint file XYZ in New-MBP
    2. New-MBP opens XYZ and gets "found a problem with content in..."
    3. Click on "repair", open up XYZ, and get bunch of blank pages
    4. Same XYZ file copied to Old-MBP(freshly installed, now my home media server, not many apps installed).
    5. Same version of Office 2011 installed in Old-MBP, opened the file just fine!
(so the problem is not NewMBP Keynote)
    6. Created a test account in New-MBP
    7. Attempted to open XYZ with Powerpoint
    8. Same "found a problem with content in..."
    9. Click on "repair", open up XYZ, and get bunch of blank pages
(so the problem is not user/privileges, but the NewMBP system-wide issue?)
    10. In New MBP, created a brand new Keynote file, did some light work
    11. Exported new keynote file to powerpoint file RRR
    12. In New-MBP, RRR opened under Powerpoint 2011 just fine!
(so the problem might be the original multi-modified Keynote file?)
(But its powerpoint file XYZ opened in Old-MBP just fine!)
I've uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2011, with SP1, still cannot open XYZ properly.
I've copied all Office 2011 files from Old-MBP to New MBP, still cannot open XYZ properly.
I"ve googled the problem and tried anything I could find, still cannot open XYZ properly. (deleting presenter notes... etc)
My current conclusion: some kind of software system conflicts in the New-MBP.
    Anyone with any ideas?
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    Will

    Hi Will,
Met the same issues and spent hours to find the problem. And guess what ? I found it :-)
For some reason, groups are not supported by Powerpoint converted files.
This is why every slide that contains group is not converted.
The workaround is to ungroup all the groups in your keynote file (alt+cmd+shift+G) and you'll see your slides being converted again.
I'm not sure where the issue is coming from. I would tend to think it should be resolve by the Apple Keynote team.
Not sure whether it has been escalated so far.
There might be some other small issues. One or two slides were not properly converted although they were not containing group, but this should fix most of them.
    Have fun degrouping your slides

  • Problems with PowerPoint not loading graphics correctly/fully

Has anyone else had problems with PowerPoint?
When I loaded a pptx file from Office 2010 it was missing the top heading (banner heading)
When I saved the file in office 2003 the heading was now back

Please see this technote on unsupported features of Powerpoint files when uploaded to Adobe Connect:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/404/kb404463.html
Understand that when you use a Share Document Pod and choose to upload the PPT or PPTX file that you are then converting that file to an Adobe Flash file so that it can be streamed to attendee desktops.  It does not remain in it's original format.  Not everything will convert exactly as planned so be prepared.  You always have the option of screen sharing instead of using the share pod option.
Also read this technote that makes suggestions for work arounds:

  • Excel Problems with Mt Lion

Funny with an Excel file with many sheets (14) on my 17" MacBook Pro, using Mail, if I click on the Excel file to open it, all I get a sheet however all the data does not display in the Excel file.
However if I take the same file and drag it to my desktop, letting it create a new file then open the file all the data is in the Excel spread sheet.
Just wondering if any one else is having a problem with Excel, Mail, & Mt Lion?
thank you for any reply John

I've upgraded to Leopard and also have had difficulty printing in excel (using Office for Mac 2004 Student/Teacher Ed)....Word, Powerpoint, and Entourage all print fine.....and I print fine off the internet and in Apple iWork (Numbers, Pages) and in "Mail" . REally strange.....
I am able to open files in excel, but cannot print them....
I'm a former PC guy.....very set in my ways (I was) until I bought my wife an iMac G5 last year, before Intel came out. Anyway....she loved the Mac so when my Laptop hard drive fried, I decide to take the plunge and am I glad i did......
I'm frustrated about this glitch with excel in Leopard....but for those of us who have attempted to (and succeeded) upgrade Microsoft Operating systems (though you never really succeed....Microsoft just keeps fixing things...with new patches or new service packs!).....well you know what I mean....upgrading to Leopard was a breeze.....I just wish I could figure out this problem with printing in excel!
I would drop excel and just use "Numbers", but I work with all PC users (using various versions of Office) so I need to make sure they can open my "Numbers and Pages" files and even amend them if needed,...which I don't know they can do??????? i know I just jumped subjects here...but anyone have any thoughts on this too?
    To summarize:
    1. problems printing in excel with Leopard upgrade on macbook.
    2. can PC users with Office 2004 (I don't think any use the new 2007)....open my files from email if I generate them with Numbers or Pages?
    Thanks,
    Steve D.
