Problems with synchronizing 4 clips

Hi, I try to synchonize 4 clips with different formats. Final cut seems to be a little chaotic with building a new synchronized clip. sometimes it uses cam 4 sometimes cam 1 and at everytime the output format is like the root cam. can I choose the root cam?
Heeeeelp!!!

Ok Tom, thanks a lot for trying to help me and I try to explain a little more detailed.
I´ve recorded 4 tracks with 3 cams full HD 50p and with one cam full HD 30p.
I do all my cuts with 4 views, that must be seen all once on the screen. Not possible with multi cam cut.
I syncronize the clips and it all worked fine, but since the last 2 videos, final cut used, for whatever reason, the 4th cam to generate a syncronized clip with 30p and named it new syncronized clip cam4.
Then I´ve checked all the videos and recognized, that final cut always uses one clip as a (I call it) master or root clip to take it´s settings for the new clip. I found no possibility to tell final cut, which clip it should take for the correct settings.
Any Idea?

  • Two problems with audio clips

    Hello,
I'm having two problems with audio clips:
    1. When I try to drag a clip from the viewer, I can't do it because it won't let me drag the clip. It only lets me drag the pointer around within the clip.
    2. When I drag an audio clip from the browser into the timeline I don't get any audio, just a series of beeps (and yes, my audio media is on-line -- I can listen to it in the viewer, just not the timeline).
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks.

    1. Drag the little hand on speaker icon to drag from
    the Viewer...
Thanks! (Does it actually say that in the documentation anywhere? I try to RTFM, but the FM seems to be a little, er, mute on this point.)
    2. It means your sequence settings don't match the
properties of the source audio you're putting in it,
and you either need to change the settings in the
    sequence, or render the audio.
Ah, that would explain it. Thanks!

  • Problems with synchronizing iCal with iCloud accounts on my Mac Pro

I have problems with synchronizing iCal with iCloud calender accounts on my Mac Pro runnning OS 10.6.8
(error message "HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden" på handlingen CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation.)
It works fine on iOS devices.

Due to lacking hardware driver compatibility i our graphic production environment we can't upgrade to Lion.
Does that mean that it after the closing of MobileMe is impossible to synchronize calenders to Mac's running OS 10.6.8 ??

  • Problems with synchronizing

    Hello,
I am fairly new to using Dreamweaver CS5, but suddenly am having problems with synchronizing my projects. It was working fine until a few days ago, but I'll just list the steps of what happens now to try to make it clear.
I refresh and click the sync button.
I choose 'selected local files only' and 'put newer files to remote,' then 'preview.
Then, Dreamweaver says it's connecting to my server, retreiving folder information, then complete.
After that, it says that it's putting file temp2342.htm on my server.
Then it says no synchronization is necessary...even though I do have newer files which haven't been put on my server.
I've tried 'putting' individual files on the server, but it says 'file activity incomplete. 1 or more files not completed.'
Up until a few days ago, the synchronization would work just fine and put the newer files on my server. I'm not sure what kind of setting I might have changed between now and then, but any ideas on how to fix this problem would be much appreciated!

Call our customer care, they'll sort this out. You can find the details from "contact us" link on top of this page.

  • Problem with synchronous calls

    Hello XI friends,
I'm having a problem with a synchronous message sending through a RFC.
This is the scenario I'm having. I call the RFC, the message is delivered to XI, and XI delivers de message to the Legacy System, this system responds to XI and XI delivers the message back to the SAP system.
But after doing some successful tests with the RFC, for somehow the whole message is delivered to the Legacy System, and XI shows that has delivered back the message to the SAP system, but the RFC stays Idle, as if it was waiting for a response, after a while, the RFC gets a Dump with the following error:
    "call to messaging system failed:
In order to get it working again, I'm doing a Restart of the J2EE instance, but after another series of tests with the same RFC, the problem comes up again.
Does anyone knows what could be happening?
    Thank you,
    Felipe

    Hi Felipe,
Are you using a standard SAP RFC or a customized RFC interface???
I would also suggest to check the System dumps in the SAP system where the RFC is hanging.

  • Frame Rate & Resolution change with synchronized clip

Does anyone know why a Canon 7d file recorded at 1920x1080 29.97fps changes to a 1280x720 23.97fps file when a synchronized clip with a separate audio file is created?
After selecting the synchronized clip in the event browser I can edit the compound clip settings to change back to 1920x1080, but 23.98 is the only framerate selectable.  The sync worked beautifully.  My import preferences are set to create optimized media - 422 ProRes.

Well, I went to the clip that was mentioned in the source file and selected it to do a frame rate conversion and its source file was correct. I hit cancel and went back to the my desired clip and the time the source file was correct.
Doing a few more conversion the correct source file doesn't always come up correctly, but I just bounce around selecting a few different clips without actually doing the conversions and it eventually fixes itself...
    It's just buggy!

  • Performance problem with synchronized singleton

I'm using the singleton pattern to cache incoming JMS Message data from a 3rd party. I'm seeing terrible performance though, and I think it's because I've misunderstood something.
My singleton class stores incoming JMS messages in a HashMap, so that successive messages can be checked to see if they are a new piece of data, or an update to an earlier one.
I followed the traditional examples of a private constructor and a public getInstance method, and applied the double-checked locking to the latter. However, a colleague then suggested that all my other methods in the same class should also be synchronized - is this the case or am I creating an unnecessary performance bottleneck? Or have I unwittingly created that bottleneck elsewhere?
    package com.mycode;
    import java.util.HashMap;
    import java.util.Iterator;
    public class DataCache {
        private volatile static DataCache uniqueInstance;

            long compareDate = currentDate - (expiryTime);

The theory behind double-checked locking is perfect. Unfortunately, reality is entirely different. The problem with double-checked locking is that there is no guarantee it will work on single or multi-processor machines.
The issue of the failure of double-checked locking is not due to implementation bugs in JVMs but to the current Java platform memory model. The memory model allows what is known as "out-of-order writes" and is a prime reason why this idiom fails[b].
I had a read of that article and have a couple of questions about it:
    1. The article was written way back in May 2002 - is the issue they describe relevant to Java 6's memory model? DCL will work starting with 1.4 or 1.5, if you make the variable you're testing volatile. However, there's no reason to do it.
Lazy instantiation is almost never appropriate, and for those rare times when it is, use a nested class to hold your instance reference. (There are examples if you search for them.) I'd be willing to be lazy instantiation is no appropriate in your case, so you don't need to muck with syncing or DCL or any of that nonsense.

  • Frustrating audio sync problem with MJPG clips!

I make short films from our family trips, using the jpg:s and mjpg clips made with our Canon compact digital camera. This has worked fine (since PE 2). Now I often get a frustrating audio problem on SOME of the MJPG:s, SOMETIMES.
When I play the clip in PE7, after 0.5 - 1 sec the audio jumps back to start, before it continues to the end along with the video. This makes the audio out of sync with the video (lagging 0,5 – 1 seconds).
The only way to fix this is to separate the audio track from the video, cut the start of the audio (to where it jumps back to the start) and then move the audio track to make it in sync. Besides being a tedious way to do on all clips, the audio track is not possible to extend “in the other end”, so I have to cut the video at the end as well…
However, this is not happing on all MJPG clips but only on some.
Also, the clip looks fine in other programs, e.g. wmp or windows movie maker.
I have tried other MJPG decoders but that does not make any difference (so it’s obviously no problem with the video). The audio is PCM Audio 44100Hz, 706 kb/s mono.
Now, when I tried repairing the PE7 installation, updating DirectX, removing all caches in the project directory, rebooting, it worked! The clip I was testing was in sync!
But, the next day I noticed the sync problem again on a lot of other clips… I then thought I should try to force PE to reanalyze the video again, so I remove the cache-directories (did not help) and moved the project file to another directory (this did not help, but on the other hand, I didn’t see PE7 analyzing the video again, so maybe there is a cache somewhere else??)
I noticed (looking at properties on the clip in the preview window in PE7), that the original audio is 44100Hz mono, but PE7 converts it to 48000Hz mono. Don’t know if there is some problem there, but it should not be any difference on different clips from the same source… (and the “jump back” in audio is 0,5-1 seconds regardless of clip length, and not the 9% that the difference in frequency would suggest + the audio plays in “normal speed”).
    I’ve run out of ideas!!
Please, does anybody have any constructive ideas or tips on what to try? Are there more caches to clear? Are there conflicts with another program, like wmp?
(I use PE 7.0 on a 4Gb, quadcore system running Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit.)
    // G

Thanks, I suppose I can start batch-converting my mjpg movies before importing them inte PE7, if that would make this problem disappear. I'll try that (I have FormatFactory installed, but VirtualDub seems like a nice tool if that is better), although that would make the process a bit more long-winded...
Regarding GSPOT info on a file that works and one doesn't, there are typically no difference between them (except length and content, of course). In fact, as I mentioned above, the same movie did not work until I did some reinstalling, clearing caches etc. Then the same movie suddenly worked OK again.
I attach the GSPOT info on that file.
(I never had this problem on my older XP system that run PE2...).
I will try converting to see if the problem disappears.
    Thanks!

  • Problems with exporting clips from GoPro cam

    hi!
I am using PP cs3  and it works fine with DV and HDV. But I am having problems exporting vids from GoPro (spec: http://www.goprocamera.com/index.php?area=2&productid=7). When I render it everything looks fine, but when I export it seems to repeat frames (ex. surfer jumps from surfboard twice)... first few seconds of the exported video works fine, than the repeated frames start to appear and it only gets worse towards the end... so far I got the best results with Quicktime (H.264) but still repeating toward the end...
    (gopro from 1.15 to 2.47 @ http://www.vimeo.com/6231114)
I have a laptop, core2duo 2GB, 2gb ddr2 800mhz and nvidia wtih cuda acc., 320gb disk, and everything works fine (maybe a little slow ), even HDV videos from canon A1, I am only having problems with the gopro ... please help...
    thanks
    Mitja

Received another reply from Gopro support:
"We've heard of compatibility issues in Premiere with the .avi files.  One possible way around this is to first save the .avi file as a .mov file using a program such as imovie or quicktime pro.  Hopefully this clears up the editing issues for you."
I still haven`t gave up, so I`ve tried exporting in .mov with Sorenson codec and Sorenson 3... works perfektly but now the speed od the clip is increased, so the picture is not tuned with sound anymore . Unfortunately the codecs settings can`t be configured via Premiere...

  • Bluetooth File Transfer Problem with Video Clips -...

    Hello!
I am posting this problem even though a similar one is claimed to be solved ...
I have a similar Problem with BT video clip file transfer in my E5-00 as someone had earlier with music files (SW up to date). Except that in this case the files are unique video clips received from one of the latest Samsung Android phones via Bluetooth (don't ask me which format).
Tried the obvious first, using Windows File Manager over USB. Even Windows Search could not locate the files, not even using wildcards.
Also tried using Ovi Suite Syncronisation, but the files did not appear in either Photos/Videos or Messages (even though the files are in the SMS Inbox - does not make sense why).
The problem in applying the solution approach presented here for Music seems to be that the files cannot be played at all in my E5-00's. Therefore I don't get as far as to the menu where the E5 would ask whether or not the files should be saved or not.
So far I have not been able to connect to an old bluetooth laptop (Windows XP) so that the Bluetooth Exchange would connect let alone seen whether the BTexchange works in this case or not.
Is there any other chance of getting to the files through the directory structure? If so, please give me the (Windows) directory path? Any other advice than switching to Android?

Unfortunately I have reached an impasse.  If I touch a video clip (in organizer) the system crashes.  I mean locked up cold. I'm not sure what has caused this but I do know that I will not be able to communicate correctly or sufficiently with you in order for you to help me out.
I've found PS and Premier to be very difficult to work with.  Very, very frustrating.  Photography, both still and video, is not as enjoyable as it once was.
Again, I very much appreciate your initial help and if I get to a point where I've improved my situation ... I'll reach out again.  Thanks

  • Trimming tool problems with merged clips

I'm trying to edit a filmstyle sequence with merged clips (created video and audio synched, then merged into new clips). This works fine, except when I try to trim edits in the sequence - the trim tool works, but the picture in the left and right trim windows jump to different parts of the clips being trimmed, and do not show the correct frames being trimmed. The trim tool works fine when used with unmerged clips, but somehow can't seem to work with the synched up clips
The footage being edited was shot on RED and is in pro rez 4:4:4 format.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is this a bug, or is there a way around this? Thanks for any pointers...

I created a new user account and trashed my preferences and I have the same problems. I created a new project, and new sequences. Same problems.
It only happens with 23.98 (batch reverse telecined using Cinema Tools) NTSC DV clips that have been merged with separate 24-bit 48 khz Quicktime audio clips (converted from BWF using BWF2XML). Clips that were captured from the tape with audio and video simultaneously don't have this problem. The discrepancies between the actual amounts trimmed and the white numbers in the trim windows are consistent. If it's off by 6:10 on a clip, every time I try to trim that clip it will be off by the same amount. But the number varies from clip to clip. It's generally 5-8 seconds.
If I try to trim only the audio, I don't have any trouble. If I trim the audio and video at the same time I don't have any trouble. It's only when I trim the video on its own. If I use the original video clip before it's merged with an audio track then it trims fine. If I cut the merged clip into a sequence then delete the audio track from the sequence the problem remains.

  • Problems with movie clips in time line-program keeps quiting

Not sure if I love this new iMovie version. I have imported many clips with my Sony Digital Hi 8. No problem with past versions. Everything went good until trying to put the clips into the time line. Everytime I try working with the time line and the imported movie clips the program quits...every time. Is this normal. Its getting pretty frusterating.
    Thanks for any help.
    Shane

I feel your pain in that the same things are happening to us. My wife is trying to edit many video clips imported from a Panasonic PV - GS39. iMovie crashes constantly when trying to work with this particular project. I have successfully edited a project that consisted of mainly still pics with only a few short video clips thrown in. I've tried many of the suggestions from this discussion group (QT plugs, trashing prefs, etc...) with no success. I'll keep trying for a solution though.

  • E52 - Problem with sound clips

    Hello people,
I'm with the latest E52 software.
    1. With the old and the new one there is a problem. First when you record a sound clip,  It is not appearing in Menu-> Media->Gallery. The only way to access my sound clips is to open file manager and browse it from there and that is little bit complicated.
    2. The second problem with the sound clips is that each new recorded clip is with name and number after that. I have deleted all sound clips but the program remembers the last number and continue from the last. Can I reset and start my clips from number 001 ?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
    Probably, one setting is wrong:
    Select the recorder
    Options
    Parameters
Recording quality must be set to: Standard    (High will not work, neither MMS compatible)
You should find your recordings in Gallery, Audio clips.
    OK ?

Hi everyone, I have a big problem with my iPod.
It is a 120GB(with Windows Vista...), and when I plug the USB cable in the port, my iPod shows Connected, Eject before disconnecting, but iTunes is unable to read my iPod. I've tried to sync it with disk mode, and although my iPod appears, I'm not able to restore my data because the operation stops instantly at midway(along with error 1439, or something like that).
    Does anyone have a solution?
    Thanks

has the same issue, mine i got error coe 1437 and 48.. help?

  • Import problems with 5D clips

When I import my 5D footage I can not see it until it transcodes.  I only see a red box with and exclamation point.
Once it transcodes, which takes a long time, then I can see it and work with the clips.  I thought that I could see the footage right away and work with it while it transcodes in the background?  please any help!!

    This is very strange.
First, is the drive you import the footage to formatted 'Mac OS Extended'?
    If not, it must be.
Next, have you tried trashing your preferences?
Unexplained faults like this can often be fixed by clearing out FCP X's preferences (for some reason, they get knotted up from time to time).
Download Digital Rebellion's Preference Manager (free, simple to use, and perfectly safe, both to download and use).
With Preference Manager, you can backup the Prefs first, then if trashing makes no difference, you can restore all your settings.
If you trash them and don't restore them, you will need to manually restore all your FCP X settings again, so it's a great idea to backup Preferences from time to time when FCP X is working well, then if they get corrupted you can ditch the bad prefs and restore from your (Digital Rebellion) backup.
Can't guarantee it, but it's worth a try.
    Andy
