Problems with syncing new iPad touch

We have bought my daughter a new iPad touch . I am trying to set it up for her, but it has synced all the contacts off the ipad. I tried to delete them manually from the iPod, but it also deleted them off the iPad.
How can I delete unwanted ones off the iPod without affecting the iPad contacts?
How can I add new contacts to either iPad or iPod without them syncing?
Please keep any answers very very simple!!!
Thank you.

I too have this issue. I went through the update and I'm trying to sync and music won't go. I am doing selected sync - because I have more music than space on my itouch - but it still should work properly. I wonder how many others are having this issue.
I got my wife's iphone to update and sync properly no problem.

  • Problems with the new iPad and Joikuspot premium after iOS 6

    Hi,
I'm experiencing serious problems with my new iPad after last iOS update. Usually I was connecting to the internet through Joikuspot premium on Nokia mobile phone (E6). I was able to do everything, https sites surfing, absolutely everything with no exceptions.
Now, after iOS 6 update, I can't connect to https sites, google+, sync calendar etc.
I've tried to change connection criteria on joikuspot but nothing. The fact is also that other devices as laptop or other smartphones are still working perfectly, in any case, sharing the wi-fi connection created by joikuspot.
Finally the problem is 100% due to the iPad and the new iOS.
disappointing, amateur for such a device... (iPad I mean).
    Any help?
    Many many thanks
    Vittorio

Ho lo stesso problema, dopo l'aggiornamento a IOS 6 l'ipad non riconosce più il mio nokia N8. Con IOS 5 andava una cannonata...
    vorrei ritornare a IOS 5

  • Hy, I have a problem with a new iPad Mini.

Hy, I have a problem with a new iPad Mini.
When I try to use the cameras, it doesn't work.
I get to take 3-4 pictures and after that all I see is the shutter.
It happends even if just start the camera app, or the facetime app, after 4-5s.
I've reinstalled IOS 6.1 but nothing changed.
It is a new ipad. What can I do?

Ok, Orange Romania changed my iPad mini but now I have another problem.
I bought the iPad mini on 01/feb/2013, took it to service on 06/feb/2013, and got another ipad mini on 12/feb/2013.
But the new ipad mini keeps requesting the password for some user [email protected], and it does it from the first day of activation. This is suspect for me, so I checked it's serial with selfsolve.apple.com and it shows "Estimated Expiration Date: January 31, 2014" and since it has one year free service I am worried the iPad mini wasn't new.
    Please help.

  • I have a problem with my new ipad air 64g with cellular. When I off my ipad for a long period of time ( around 2 hours), my ipad air freeze. Nothing is showing on screen with any button except by pressing reboot (home   on/off button)

I have a problem with my new ipad air 64g with cellular. When I off my ipad for a long period of time ( around 2 hours), my ipad air freeze. Nothing is showing on screen with any button except by pressing reboot (home   on/off button). Anyone out there can help. Thanks.

I have a 64GB iPad Air WiFi+Cellular (Verizon), and I don't see the issues you are describing.  First I would suggest that you update your iPad to the newest iOS update.  If that doesn't help, then you may want to schedule an appointment at an Apple Genius Bar.  If you go this route, I suggest that you let the iPad sleep for long enough for the problem to arise before you go to your appointment.

  • How do I know if I have a wifi problem with my new iPad 3 (it seems very slow) and how does one address the problem with apple if there is one?

I just read about the possible issue that some folks are having with their new iPad wifi (my seemed to be running very slowly but I thought that perhaps it was just me overreacting).  How do I know if I have a definite problem, and what is my recourse?  Do I need to take it to an Apple store for testing?  I have apple care which I assume addresses stuff like this.  Thoughts?  Thx so much.

Your iPad is covered by the normal warranty for one year. If you have AppleCare that extends the coverage. If you feel there is a problem with your wifi reception visit an Apple store with your iPad for a consultation. Be sure to make an appointment before you go.

  • Is anyone having a problem with the new iPad (Gen. 3) not staying connected to the charger? It seems to ALWAYS get jiggled loose and no longer be charging. My iPad 1 has no issue but I can't browse Internet w/o new iPad unplugging. Horrible!

I notice that my new IPad (3rd generation) will not stay connected to the power cord at all, I'm not exagerating, if I plug it in and browse the Internet without fail it will become unplugged and I will have to push the plug back in (Ba-beep). Ive actually grown to despise that sound when you plug your iPhone or iPad in because it reminds me of how much money I spent on something that PHYSICALLY will not charge while I'm using it.
I know the problem with it holding a charge while in use, I get it, the screen is amazing and it takes a lot to run the display, however, it is unacceptable to me that I can't even keep the thing plugged in while I'm using it. I can not even leave it on my Cal King bed overnight because I will wake up in the morning to find that the plug has been jiggled loose in a corner, so it's still attached but not making a connection thus not being charged.
I love the 4GLTE from Verizon and I love the iPad, but I'm actually using my 1st generation IPad while I am at home so I can leave my new $900 iPad on a table to charge free of incident so I can use the 4G while I'm away from wifi during the day. I have been getting more upset about this because I can not even use the Griffin extended cord to charge the iPad and be far from the plug because only the original apple sync/charge cord will have a better shot at staying in. Absolutely none of my non apple cables will stay in the iPad 3 while having it in my hands.
The plug is at an angle, unlike the first iPad, not sure about the iPad 2. Please let me know if they have same issue.
If anyone else is having this problem with the Gen 3 iPad please let me know because I'm tempted to do something about it with apple and I'm hoping that I just for some reason have a bad cable receiver or something and maybe I can get a replacement and enjoy the iPad as I had expected to. There is no reason why I should be even using my first iPad and I have friends that want to buy it but I am not selling it because I'm unable to sell it because I can't handle the new iPad while it's plugged in, that is ridiculous if it's a common issue so please let me know!

Thanks for the swift reply, I have been looking online and a loose plug seems to be somewhat of an issue with many, I hope mine is actually a problem and not what others are experiencing. It's taken me this long to even reach out for the simple fact I HATE being a complainer but this is just horrible.
Do you have an iPad 3 as well? And is yours not experiencing any issues close to mine?
    Thanks again!

  • Problems with the new Zen Touch Firmw

I'm getting the opposite of the problems other users I read about have with the new firmware: I DON'T want to use MediaSource further but my computer doesn't recognise my Zen Touch as an external hard disk (or Audio Player or anything else I can just drag and drop my music). MediaPlayer is recognising it and on my fathers computer it aso worked.
What should also be said: Right after installing the new firmware it worked but one day later my computer denied doing the same thing as the day before...
I'm quite desperate and I hope you can help me soon.

  • Having problems with my new iPod touch can you help me a first time user?

I cannot locate my photos in the iTunes library, I have no problem with the Music entry, is there something I have to do to create a library entry?
Also I do not get the photo folders only the individual photos in one large file (3500+) good quality but not good for specific look up, again is there anything I need to do to have folder organization?
I'd appreciate any help that I can get, and would thank any particant in advance

Hi Kappy. I have located the photo files from the sync to my ipod, by the way I am a Windows XP user, and what is showing is a file called 'ipod Photo Cache' which contains folders which have the photo conversions of what is in my 'My Pictures' folder, this cache folder follows at the end of my photo library content.
The cache folder files have an extension of .thumb these are conversions for the ipod and appear to change when I delete or modify any photo in my library and to further complicate things these photos (.JPG format) have an intermediate conversion to a (.cpt format)which are contained within my photo library folders. None of this bothers me since I have my photos on the ipod which is of great value to me.
Thanks for your efforts on my behalf, I will now let this rest and proceed to other new challenges in the ipod world.

  • Is anyone having problems with the new ipad staying connected to wi fi

My new Ipad 4G + WI FI keeps losing the connection to the internet.  I have to continuously type in the password  to our WI FI.  Is anyone else having this problem?  I didn't have it with the Ipad 2.

  • Problem with syncing my iPad 3

I have never experienced a problem ever since I bought my iPad3. To begin with my MBP is version 10.8.2 which is up to date and my iPad3 is 6.1 which is also up to date. Last night at work I tried syncing my iPad with my MBP wirelessly. For some reason or another it timed out and lost connection. Never has happened before while doing this wirelessly. Anyways this morning I come into work and plug the iPad up to my MBP. Same thing happens. It starts out by backing up which is step 1 of 1. It goes all the way until 4 of 4 and comes up with a message " The Ipad could not be synced because the connection to the iPad was lost." I just performed a refresh boot by holding the top button and home button at the same time until the Apple logo came back up. Tried again and same message. Thinking about taking it to the Apple Store. Applecare wanted $79 to add AC and I declined because I never do see the point in buying AC if you switch up your devices every year or so.
If anyone has any quick feedback they can share with me I would greatly appreciate it.

Sorry to ask but do you have iCloud backup turned on in your iPad?
Settings-> iCloud -> Storage and Backup
Also, I've not used the Wi-Fi option to backup but details in "Settings-> General -> iTunes Wi-Fi Sync" state connect to iTunes on your computer using cable and click sync with This iPad over Wi-Fi. I guess this is due to me not having done this before, but maybe worth trying again?

  • Hi. I have a sound problem with my "New" Ipad.

It has happened five times now that no sound is working on the Ipad. It is not on mute, and the volume is full on, but there is no sound. However, by restarting the Ipad I get sound again. I don´t know what to do about it. Should I go back to the store with it? Has anyone else had this problem?

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

  • Problems with my new iPad Mini

My iPad Mini shuts off randomly and reboots, now it won't turn on at all, and when we bought it, it had a defective front facing camera. What do I do? Can I bring it in and get a new one? Right now the iPad turns on, but shuts off during the process of rebooting, the repeats the process again. What do I do??

    No.
Take it to an Apple Store for evaluation.
