Problems with syncing two iPhones

My girlfriend and I both bought iPhones the other day and we have an iMac at home (Intel iMac). Both iPhones have been connected to iTunes and, when both phones were connected to iTunes, I don't think we changed users on iTunes (I have an Apple account and she has and Apple account as well).
At some point, I tried to import my contacts from Yahoo and, at some point, she plugged her iPhone into the computer as well. We both ended up getting all of my contacts and all of her contacts (she tried to sync as well) on both phones. In addition, any time I try to download an application, it asks me for her password. Also, when I connected my iPhone to the iMac last night, it automatically synced and provided me with all of her applications.
Is there any way to solve this problem apart from "restoring" both of the phones?

Set up a second user account. From that point on everybody can have his/her own music, calender etc.

Problems with Syncing two different libraries on one mac

Ever since I downloaded itunes 11 onto my mac I am having problems with syncing. We have two libaries on our mac and can still easily move between the two, each keeping our own playlists, and music/podcast libaries. The problem is with the syncing to our ipods. The playlists stay separated, but unfortunately the sync update pulls both music libraries and puts it on each of our ipods. Having very different music tastes, this is a drag.
A second issue - there is still that problem of having issues with purchased music not staying in playlists (on ipod) after syncing.
I've tried looking around the itunes tutorials and articles but wasn't having luck. any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Oh, in case it matters, one of us is using an Iphone and the other an ipod touch.

you might have to find a third party program to get those songs off her ipad onto the computer, apple doesnt support that unless they are purcahsed from itunes store because of DRM (Digital Rights Media) another word for copy write. so theres not a whole lot of hope for that, but you can always create a new user on your computer

once thats done you'll then plug that device in to the computer and on the left side of itunes you'll see devices and "Device name" the device its self, right click or control click the name and choose transfer purchases, anything that has ever been purchased of gotten for free will sync onto the computer,
you cant just simplay pull the songs off the device to the computer, doesnt work like that

I just ran into the same issue on my 2011 Explorer. Out of nowhere, I was unable to hear any audio when making or answering calls over Sync (iPhone 4s). Handsfree calls were no longer an option... not acceptable.
After 1000 searches all over the web, I finally found a contact number for Sync support. Ford seems to be burying this phone number for some reason?!?
Hopefully the rep you catch will be as helpful as the one I just spoke with! After a few steps (soft resetting the phone and resetting the car to manufacturer settings) I am able to make/receive calls again

Problems with sync between iphone 5 and macbook pro

Never been able to sync macbook pro and iphone5.
mac dosn't recognise it in anyway. done all normal stuff check for updates, deleted itunes through terminal and re-downloaded it. still no luck.
iphone does sync with other laptops. and the usb port on my mac does work properly, i have no problems with the sync between it and an iphone 4s or even a usb memory stick.
os x 10.8.5 macbook
ios 7.0.4 iphone5

Follow the 3R's- if a restart does not solve your problem proceed
User troubleshooting is:
1.restart, ie power off/on,

Problem with syncing 2 iphones to the same account

I have 2 iphones -a 3gs and a 4g, each started out with thesame contact info. Eventually each phone had a slightly different set ofcontact info. I named each phonewith a different name on iTunes. Itried to sync them to the same itunes account thinking that each phone willupdate by computers address book and this way I would have a mirror imageaddress book on both phones and the computer. The first time around it created duplicate files, in otherwords instead of updating a certain contact with possibly a new phone number,it created a new file for that contact with the new phone number and kept theold file with the old phone number. I cleaned up contacts on one of the iphones and then reset the addressbook with an older back up and then did the sync again, but this time for somereason instead of updating the computers address book with the clean versionthat was on the iphone, the reverse occurred and my old back up copy of theaddress book was entirely copied over the iphone contact list. So now I have lost all the updates thatwere on the iphone.
I have 2 questions:
1. Is it possible to restore the lost contact list from theiphone or is it lost forever?
2. What did I do wrong in the syncing process that causedthe computer's back up copy of the address book overwrite the new and updatedcontact list on the iphone?

The best way to do this is to create two separate computer logins. That way, you have separate address books, separate itunes accounts, separate everything with no chance that each other's data will become intermingled.

I'm having problems with syncing my iphone calendar to my ipad, but not the other way around

My iPhone 5 will not sync with my iPad calendar. If I make any changes or add an appointment on my iPhone it will not sync to either iCloud or my iPad, however if I add or change an appointment on my iPad or iCloud it will update my iPhone calendar. I've read where other's are having the same problems but haven't read anyone's post of where a solution has helped. Anyone??

There is no 8/9 pin to 30-pin to adopters that support audio. There are such adopters but they only support charging and syncing, not audio

Problems with syncing between iPhone, iPad & iCloud

Migrated all to iCloud. First time I entered a note in iphone, it "duplicated" overnight 900 times! So in a.m. when I turned on iphone had 900 of the note--also on iCloud and on my computer. Problem repeated when I entered a note from ipad. On line with help people for over 2 hours and they have no solution--said it could take 2-3 days. This is really unacceptable! Right now Notes turned off on my iphone and ipad for syncing. It would seem to me that the notes are "bouncing"--e.g. I enter on iphone or ipad--note goes to iCloud--iCloud sends it back down but somehow doesn't register that the note was sent from one of the devices so it is read as a "new note" and sent back to iCloud, which sends in back down to all devices, etc. and it goes on and on forever! PLEASE HELP--all suggestions will be welcomed!

I'm having problems with syncing my iphone 4s calendar with google calendar. google calendar will sync with phone but phone calendar won't sync with google calendar.

I can't get my iphone 4s calendar to sync with google calendar. I can sync the other way i.e from google to iphone. Does anyone know how to fix this?

You need to transfer your iTunes library from your old computer to your new computer per the instructions included with this link.

If you don't do this per the instructions included with the link, all iTunes content on your iPhone will be erased with the first sync. If you haven't transferred photos from your old computer to your new, any photos on your iPhone that were transferred from your previous computer will be erased when selecting to transfer any photos from your new computer.
Not sure how cancelling a sync with iTunes and importing photos/videos from the Camera Roll with iPhoto could have an effect on your GPS reception and location services.

Yes i recently found it i fixed it. the solution is my ipod was jailbroken and i had whats app the app and whats pad that was my problem when i removed it it let me sync and make sure your restrictions is on go to setting general retrictions turn it on if not

On your Mac open System Preferences > iCloud. Deselect the box next to Reminders then reselect it.
On your iPhone, tap Settings > iCloud. Switch Reminders off then back on.

Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Maybe a long shot, but WD is not known for the quality of some of their enclosures, although I do like the drives themselves. It may be worth mounting this drive in a different enclosure, something like one of OWC's FireWire enclosures with the highly reliable Oxford chip sets. I wouldn't be inclined to trust a WD enclosure, especially if it already seemed to be acting in a flakey manner.

I have 3 of these and I really like them.
From what I understand, if the drive spins up, it is often possible to recover data from it. To be absolutely certain to destroy the data, you just about have to take a hammer to the disk. Hopefully, there will be a way to get your data back.

No, it does not. It transfers purchases from the iDevice to the computer. The computer must be authorized for the Apple ID that the content was acquired with.

Absolutely, connect each phone, select what content you want on each phone, then hit the sync button. iTunes will keep everything straight, by device, upon subsequent syncs, including separate backups.
