Problem with the 3d part of photoshop CS5
Dear everybody,
im trying to follow a PS tutorial on the web, which is quite good i think (http://psd.tutsplus.com/tutorials/3d/create-a-shiny-earth-with-photoshop-3d-layers/comment -page-1/#comments) , but i run upon a problem which is next:
At part 11, he tells me to: 'The weather seems to be too cloudy, because we can see the clouds that are on the other side through the transparent areas. Making the material one sided will fix that problem. Uncheck Two Sided.
As you can see, he can uncheck that, because he is in CS4 i think. But in CS5 you can not uncheck that, although, i can't.
Can someone please tell me/explain to me where i can uncheck that? Because i really can't find it.

The option to light both sides of a material was removed in CS5. Having said that there are a few other ways to achieve the effect presented in the tutorial. The quickest way is to go to 3D> Render Settings... and check 'Remove Backfaces' in the Face Style options. What is happeing is the inside and outside surfaces are getting rendered, and since the cloud 3D layer is effectively 'in front' of the earth 3D layer you are seeing more than wanted. By removing the backface, you no longer render the inside surface.
Another method is too merge the 3D layers so the clouds become a shell that covers the earth. Doing it this way you can also light and shade the earth with the clouds and not need to use the Layer Styles drop shadow method.
Hopefully that makes sense.

Problem with the Ray Tracer in Photoshop CS5
I am very new to 3D modeling but I have been fallowing online tutorials to properly set-up and use the repousse tool with ray tracing in CS5. Last night I did a very intensive Font design with great success. Just about an hour ago I got an Adobe update for CS4 which I installed. Afterwards, the ray tracing in the repousse tool would not work. It would start and I would see the render grid pop up and then it would suddenly close. I closed photoshop cs5 and reopened it and still the same problem. I then went into the performance settings and they were all set at the same settings as the previous night. I have no idea why this feature would suddenly stop working but the problem started after the adobe CS4 update. If someone can help me fix this I would be greatly appreciated.
O.K tried reinstalling the whole suite, which was really annoying because the installer is such a load of...., well let's say it's not good. After deinstalling the reinstall failed and I had to run the cleanup tool (which produced some error's, how is that even possible) and do some other stuff suggested by the support. (It's really annoying that such an expensive programm has such a bad installer - CS3/4/5, always the same problem. At least the Adobe support is really good, so that helps a bit)
After all I managed to reinstall the whole thing but this didn't help. Interesting enough it seem this has to do something with the file. If I create a simple text 3D-object it renders fine, so I guess I will start all over again and try if I get this working. This time I will save copies of every step, maybe I can figure out if this happens again.
Another strange detail: the 3D-tools have an error, too on this file. If I move the object around in space they really jump on the slightest movement of the mouse. -
Is there a problem with the cookie settings in Safari 6?
Hoping someone can help me... I run a Shopify ecommerce store and am getting inundated with Safari customers complaining about their shopping carts being emptied before they have completed their shopping. Shopify have washed their hands of the problem, claiming that it is the cookie settings in Safari. This has never happened before (I have Safari 5 on my Mac and it works perfectly fine). Shopify has told me I need to tell all my customers to change their cookie settings which is mission impossible - most of them wouldn't even know what cookies are let alone be willing to start playing around with their settings. And what about all the customers I'm losing who aren't complaining to me? Those who are just getting peeved off with my webstore not working and shopping elsewhere? Please tell me this is a bug that Safari are working on? I'm pretty lost as to what I can do to fix the problem?

I can't see any links for yoursitename.myshopify.com/somepage though, they seem to all be organicexpress.co.nz/somepage however when I first set up my shopify site it was organic-express.myshopify.com. I thought it might be the cart page still set at the shopify domain but it doesn't seem to be.
The thing that is puzzling me most is that this problem only began happening about 4-5 weeks ago. Prior to that, my regular customers who use Safari weren't having any problems. Another thing too, sometimes it does work - perhaps if the customer completes their order under a certain time frame or perhaps only purchases a few items? Most of my customers buy 15+ items per order. -

My question here is when the diff in the timezones timings is 11:00 hours and even the server time and the sysdate show the same, then why the above queries are returning diff results?

Transcode settings in Encore CS5
I have two questions:
1. How can I see my transcode settings (including the 'Quality tab' after all the transcode finished?
2. How do I know that the (Automatic) transcode happened at my best quality settings for a large project (~120 minutes SD) if the 'leftover space' is just a few MB? (I am sure if the remaining space is in the order of GB, then the transcode 'did its best' but in case of a few MB, I don't know.)

In the Project Panel, under the Transcode Setting header it says "Automatic"
only. When I right click on the asset, the "Transcode Setting" (and
obviously the "Transcode Now" column also) are grayed out. So, I can't
really find out what Quality Setting I used before I did transcode the
assets.
I guess, it make sense since if I use the highest quality setting and I have
a long timeline (120 minutes), then the Automatic Setting will bring down
the quality from my setting anyway so the material can fit on the DVD.
My second question was basically answered by Ann Bens: a 120 minute timeline
is too long for the highest quality setting on a 4.7 GB DVD. I just hoped to
be able to save some time since I am still working on the 38 analog tapes
(most of it just 90 minutes, but quite a few is 120 minutes) and after
editing, I want to archive them on the Taiyo Yuden 4.7 GB DVD. So, my best
option is to make 2 60 minute long project from each tape.
Good thing, I am retired :-)!

Has anybody had problems with the global settings panel not working?
I am on PC, Vista 64bit. updated to the new flash player and now flash player will not allow me to chage anything in the global settings panel. I need to allow third party content for editing wix sites and I cannot change any of the settings. I have uninstalled and reinstalled many times and nothing has helped.
My adobe reader also crashed and now will not load after uninstall. Very frustrating! Everythign worked fine before the update.
Any ideas?To allow Flash Player settings, close all browser windows, then open Windows Explorer and type %APPDATA%\Adobe in the address bar. Delete the 'Flash Player' folder in there. Do the same in %APPDATA%\Macromedia

Very poor video quality after transcoding in Adobe Encore CS5.1

I have very poor video quality after transcoding the video file (MPEG) in Adobe Encore CS5.1. Below you see my used settings in my filmproject.
The problem exists after transcoding in Adobe Encore CS5.1. I checked all steps and found out that there is no problem until transcoding. My exported file in MPEG has very good video and audio quality.
Facts:
1. Camcorder: Panasonic AG-AC160AEJ
Operating System : Windows 7, 64 Bit, Ultimate edition
Source files: MTS files
Recording settings (clip settings):
Type: MPEG Movie
Image Size: 1920 x 1080
Frame Rate: 25,00
Source Audio Format: 48000 Hz - compressed - Stereo

2. Sequence settings in Premiere Pro
Sequence was created from Clip directly with settings above.

The final footage flicker on tv. I use encore cs4 4.0.1.048. With the same settings on other pc it's ok.
The crash report that you posted says the crash occurred during an OpenGL instruction. This means that there is a problem with OpenGL in your current graphics card drivers. I would suggest you do some research online about your graphics card model and its OpenGL 2.0 support. Perhaps there are others out there with similar issues in other OpenGL based applications.
Here are a
few more troubleshooting tips you can try, if you still have the strength for it. I'm sorry you're having such a hard time, but we'll try to get you through it.

I am having some huge problems with my colorspace settings. Every time I upload my raw files from my Canon 5D mark II or 6D the pics are perfect in color. That includes the back of my camera, the pic viewer on my macbook pro, and previews. They even look normal when I first open them in photoshop. I will edit, save, and then realize once i've sent it to myself to test the color is WAY off. This only happens in photoshop. I've read some forums and have tried different things, but it seems to be making it worse. PLEASE HELP! Even viewing the saved image on the mac's pic viewer is way off once i've edited in photoshop. I am having to adjust all my colors by emailing myself to test. Its just getting ridiculous.
Check the color space in camera raw, the options are in the link at the bottom of the dialog box. Then when saving make sure you save it to the srgb color space when sending to others. Not all programs understand color space and or will default to srgb. That won't necessarily mean it will be accurate, but it will put it in the ballpark. Using save for web will use the srgb color space.

The OP has an iCloud account, and that can not be opened without Lion or Mountain Lion (on a Mac), IOS5 or 6 (on an iPhone/iPad)

Photoshop CS5.1 Crashes Upon Opening: "Photoshop has encountered a problem with the display driver-"
Every time I try to open photoshop I get a window that pops up and says:
"Photoshop has encountered a problem with the display driver, and has temporarily disabled GPU enhancements. Check the video card manufacturer's website for the latest software.

The error happens so quickly that I don't have time to do anything. Please help. >.< I've been on hold for *checks phone* 2 hours exactly. Wow. It is a legit copy and was working last month with no trouble. I've updated the drivers and tried a few solutions that have worked for other people that I found on Google (such as disabling CUDA and setting my "power management mode" to "prefer maximum performance" on my video card) but so far nothing has worked.
Thanks in advance!It has stopped crashing because somehow it turned off "Enable GL Drawing" on its own because I could never even get a menu open. Not sure how it did that but I am grateful. I am getting an error encountered problem with the display driver for my Photoshop CS5 extended
I have Windows 7 and have used CS5 extended with no problems for quite a while now.
Last week I started up CS5 and received the error:
"Photoshop has encountered a problem with the display driver and has temporarily disabled GPU enhancements. Check the video card manufacturers website for the latest software. GPU enhancements can be enabled in the Performance panel of Preferences."
"Please close program and uninstall and re-install if problem persists"
I was able to edit, however when I went to save my work it would not do so. The following error came up.
"Could not complete the command because the extension could not be loaded"
"Could not save a copy as .....because of a program error"
I checked to make sure I have the latest driver, I also uninstalled and re-installed the program and I am still getting the errors.
