Problems with tools
Yes I have Visual Studios 2012 and I am tying to write code. The problem I am having is that on random certain tools will bug out. For instance all text boxes will become all laggy and when I click on them they will not show up in the properties.
Only thing that appears is in the top right portion of the tool is a play button and when clicked it brings up the tasks. I am sometime able to right-click the tool and access the properties that way but not always. This is not just with
text boxes but also it has happened with labels and list boxes.
Hi White54143,
Thank you for posting in MSND forum.
>>The problem I am having is that on random certain tools will bug out.
Based on your issue, could you please tell me what tool as you said?
Is it refer to the VS2012 tool or other tools?
If you said the problem is occurs in the VS2012 tool, I know that generally we can get the textbox control, label control or the listboxes control's properties such as a windows form application.
So if your issue is that you could not see the textbox's property such as an windows form application in VS2012, I suggest you could try the following suggestion to check your issue.
(1) I suggest you could try to create a simple windows form application and then add the textbox control in the design view and then click on the textbox check if you can get the property for this textbox control.
(2) I suggest you could try to open your application in VS safe mode and then check if you get see the property be showed for this textbox control.
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms241278(v=vs.110).aspx
(3) If this above suggestion still could not help you, maybe you will need to repair or re-install this VS2012 and then check this issue again.
If you said is not the VS2012 Tools problem, please share me more detailed message about this issue so that we will further help you.

Hi,
I have a problem with my illustrator CS5, the toolbar doesn't show sub-options.
For example if I click the Rectangle Tool (M) button looking for sub-options (a sub-option is for example the Ellipse Tool (L)), nothing happens. I managed to use the Ellipse Tool (L) through shortcuts, but I want my tool bar to be able to display all the sub-options.
In other words all the buttons with a little triangle at the button-right corner, are supposed to show sub-options, but they don't.
I've consulted the problem with one of my co-workers, he suggested installing it all again -> I don't wanna do that.
Please help.
Thanks in advance. You have to click and hold the button. As an alternative you can alt-click it to cycle through the tools

Problem with Tools Area iView Creation - Help Needed.
Hi Guys,
I am having a small problem with the Tool Area Par, I downloaded the Par and have edited it and then redeployed it on the Portal, however when I am creating an iView I am getting the Following error:
Portal Runtime Error
An exception occurred while processing a request for :
iView : pcd:portal_content/every_user/general/defaultDesktop/frameworkPages/frameworkpage/com.sap.portal.toolAreaiView
Component Name : null
Page could not create the iView.
See the details for the exception ID in the log file
Can anyone suggest me what could be wrong and why I am not able to see the Iview and why I get this exception.
Thanks,

Anyone else have a problem with tools not working?
With no particular cause, int he middle of working on things, tools like lasso tool, eraser, the brush or the clone stamp stop working.
The program will hang for a while and then I am able to switch tools, while using one particular tool at that time won't work. Until I restart photoshop.
Changing Open to GL of/on won't work, and it is not because of the autosave in the background.
Anyone with this same problem?I am not sure if it's the same thing. I do get hangs when in the middle of editing. I haven't been able to pin it on any tool, selection, or function.
At first I thought it was because the splash screen for the beta hadn't come in and that made File>Open Recent unresponsive. It's as if the program doesn't really wake up until you get rid of the splash screen.
But that isn't it entirely because it happens during editing as well, long after the splash screen's gone. Suddenly, nothing responds--not tools, not menu items, not layers. It has happened with Topaz Plug Ins at least once, but the rest of the time it's been while working within Photoshop itself.
But photoshop didn't stop responding (according to the task manager), the cursor (whether mouse or stylus) still responds, no error messages, no crash. A little time goes by, then it responds again without exiting Photoshop, restarting, or anything else.
What I have noticed happens everytime I have this problem is that, if I just pressed a menu item (such as Layers, or File, or Edit) or a tool icon (such as the brush) it will remain in the selected position with either the darkened box around the menu item or the little outline around the tool). Now that I think of it, I think that the only common trigger is clicking on something. This can go on for as long as a couple of minutes, but it always resolves itself.
The only tool that might have choked during actual use is the lasso tool on polygonal mode. I just couldn't seem to make the next click.
I'm thinking now that it has something to do with saving in the background and--if that's the case--I'll live with it gladly. But it puzzles me because I think my system should be able to handle the extra memory involved in background saving.
These are my system specs:

Problem with tools staying over scan screen
I am finding that the tools box and tools panels stay on top of the scanning screen when I go to Import from device. This obliterates the scanning tools on the left hand side. It is really annoying and slows down the work so much. I cannot find how to keep them anchored down. Help please. This in only happening on 2 of my 3 computers and I cant see what is different about them.
Many thanks
ValHi there.. Thanks very much. I appreciate your help and advice. I have
tried everything and it only works if I redock everything and revert to
tabs etc before scanning. If I have any "floating" docs or palettes they
stay over the scanning interface screen which refuses to come to the top. I
had thought if I clicked on it it would come to the top, but no. This is
such a pain on the Mac as I have got it (and spent a small fortune on new
software) just to be able to work better in Photoshop. I am an illustrator
and only use my own scanned work which I will combine etc so always work
with several screens open and I like to move the palettes around to where I
need them.
Making the scanning interface screen smaller has helped a bit with the
tools but floating working docs still stay on top. I feel I am missing
something because I dont think this can be right? It slows down everything
so much having to re dock everything.
Anyway I much appreciate your time. Am I the only one who is having this
problem?

Illustrator CC random problems with tools?
Brush tool will only sometimes allow me to change the stroke size to smaller than 1 pt. Erasure tool acts like a brush tool instead. Color turns to grayscale randomly, when I am using eyedropper or live paint bucket. Love this program but it's getting ridiculous. Probably because I'm doing something weird or wrong.
It seems to be happening only with complex files, files where I've image traced a complex drawing.

Cloning problem with Tool Tip Manager
Hi,
I am using JDialog which has got JTabbedPane. Inside the JTabbedPane I am using JTable.
I want to clone JDialog object, for which I am using deep cloning technique. When I call my overloaded clone method it throws "NotSerializableExcpetion" for javax.swing.ToolTipManager class.
I checked out the ToolTipManager Class which does not implements java.io.Serializable interface.
I will create a new class which will extend ToolTipManger and implements java.io.Serializable interface. How can I override the default ToolTipManager using my new class.
Thanks in advance,

Please help!!!
Thanks,
PaoloSomewhere at either Macworld or here I learned that DVDSP 2, DVDSP 3 and now DVDSP 4 "internally" are major re-writes.
Support for HD among a few other items along with QT 7 which comes with Tiger means sincerely that one set of applications/OS is not going to be stable.
Personally I think of all the issues possible its DVDSP vs QT.
Unless you move to DVDSP v4 the alternative is to wipe the disk and go back to Jaguar (10.2) or perhaps Panther but avoid upgrading QT beyond 6. I advocate wiping the disk because I'n not sure an archive and install to down shift to an earlier version of the OS is possible. If it is I'd still worry about mis-matched files in all sorts of locations. -
Problem with align and Selection Tool.
This is a weird problem which I cannot explain at all.
I am using AI CS3 with Windows XP.
I am having this completely random problem with the selection tool and align pallette I cannot explain.
I have a group of objects and groups of objects I am trying to use the align pallette on.
Sometimes when I select all of the items I want to align, either by shift-clicking each one, or by drag-selecting them I am getting a random behavior where sometimes the align button will move all of the objects COMPLETELY off of the artboard, all the way to the edge of the working area and beyond into the grey area you cannot see.
Normally, this would be caused by a stray point somewhere way off-screen or some other cleanup oriented thing on my part. However in this case, the behavior is random and does not happen every time I hit the align button.
Sometimes it takes items within my grouped objects (lines of text) and moves THEM completely off the work area, leaving the other items in the groups in place. Sometimes the bounding box when I drag-select the items will stretch extremely far off of the work area.
I have even dragged the extra large bounding box, bringing the edge that was once way off screen onto the work area, in outline view, in hopes of finding the stray point or object that could be causing this. However NOTHING appears that can be causing the align to throw all of my objects off-screen.
The random nature of this behavior and the way it sometimes affects my text objects inside of groups leads me to believe it is a program bug and nothing I am doing.
The behavior takes place regardless if I select by dragging or by shift-clicking, and is happening in more than one file, also randomly.
Also, choosing "align to art board" vs. "align to crop area" does nothing to change this behavior.
It is quite irritating. I've been using illustrator since v.88 so I have enough experience to know this is not normal.
Any help with this one would be greatly appreciated. When this behaviour occurs, are perhaps guides included in your selection?

Laptop mode tools problem with kernel 3.0
today I just updated the system and my laptop runs dramatically hotter after that. I read the archwiki, it does talk about the laptop mode tools problem with kernel 3.0 but when I opened the file /usr/sbin/laptop_mode, the lines which the wiki mentions are not there. Does anyone here have the same problem and can you offer the solution?
Here is my /usr/sbin/laptop_mode

# This is a 2 phase locking approach. LMT_REQ_LOCK is the outer lock and LMT_INVOC_LOCK is the inner lock
# We take this approach to ensure the scenario that, "At any point when an event occurs (AC/BATT), the
# kernel can generate multiple events spanning over a couple of events. The first event is honored and
# lmt executes. If the last event triggered at the 9th second, there is a fair chance that a good amount
# of state change would have occured in the OS, to honor that state, we keep an outer lock (LMT_REQ_LOCK)
# handy, so that those changes can also be applied and not forgotten.
# Workflow:
# Event-1 is generated and lmt executes (lmt runtime could span 5-10 seconds)
# At seventh second, 4 events generate. But Event-1 is still running.
# We don't want to discard all the remaining 4 events, but at least honor 1 so that we can act to the changes

esacI had the problem but edited the line in /usr/sbin/laptop_mode and it worked. But thoes lines are not there anymore. I guess they changed it at the recent update of laptop-mode-tools.
Regarding your heat problem; is there any other thing you use to cut down power usage (from AUR maybe)? I use acpi_call from AUR had to edit lines there aswell, but it should be updated by now. -
Problem with photoshop cs 6 using tools
When im using clone tool and press [ and ] key to zoom in and out, the zoom key suddenly stops working. What seems to be the problem?
[ and ] changes brush size. Ctrl/Cmd + and - changes zoom.
If you are having a problem with a tool, just reset it. Right-click on it here in the Options bar. -
Hi,
I just got Photoshop CS5 and I'm having a bit of trouble with the pen tool - namely, I can't see the path I'm creating. In CS3 I could clearly see the line between two points but in the new program the line is nearly invisible making it very difficult to create the path. Is this a setting I can fix?
thanksI was having 32 bit while I upgraded from CS3 to CS4. The only problem with CS4 that time was with pen tool.Though I cannot precisely recall , I can say it t was very lazy and very frustrating and this was resolved totally after shifting to 64 bit.--If urs existing system is 32 bit try with 64 bit

Problem with InDesign CC redrawing the screen too slow while using Zoom tool
Hello. I got a problem with InDesign CC redrawing the screen too slow while using Zoom tool. Sometimes it takes more than a secong to zoom in or out. However InDesign CS6, Photoshop CC, Illustrator CC works just fine. What could be the problem, videocard or something else? Below is my PC configuration: OS Windows 8 Pro (x64); processor Intel Core i7 2600k CPU 3,40GHz; video adapter NVIDIA GeForse GTS 450; monitor NEC PA271W (2560x1440).
Yes it’s a bug. The trick is to select the tool and then left click the photo information strip and hold for a few seconds until you see the windows bar at the top of the screen (not responding)
The lasso tool should then work normally.

Problems with the build-IN SNTP-Client on cRIO9014&cRIO9012
Hi out there, I have a problem using the build-IN SNTP-Client of a cRIO-9014 (and a cRIO-9012). It seems that the cRIO sometimes gets another time (e.g. 28.01.1920 12:03:00) other than it should get (e.g. 31.08.2014 09:59:00). I've found this proble
