Problems with unattended Acrobat installation
Hi
We use the adobe customization wizard 11 to make an unattended Acrobat 11 installation.
The installation runs smoothly and no problems starting Acrobat after the installation.
We've choosen English (US) as language and the menus are in english.
But if we rightclick a word document and chooses "Convert to Adobe PDF", we are promptet for the seriel number.
If we try our volumelicensekey, we get the error “This serial number supports English (International) language. Please launch Acrobat in English (International)"
If I check the ini file, I can see that 1033=English (United States) are choosen as language.

At the bottom it amongst other says: All Acrobat serial numbers support US English by default.
Did you try and use the MUI language functionality by selecting specific languages or all of the languages in the Adobe Customization Wizard? If so, to you have an All Languages serial number? If not, then that's the issue. It is required that if you use the languages feature in the Adobe Customization Wizard that you have to have an All Languages serial number.

Error: "There is a problem With Adobe Acrobat/Reader..." What is .MST file??
I get the following error message and I looked it up in the knowledge base, and there was a solution for fixing the error message. However, I have no idea what they are talking about. I have downloaded the Customization Wizard, but I have no clue what the following means:
A) Create a new transform
B) Open your previously created .mst file
I went into the C Drive and opened Program Files. I found the Adobe folder, but I couldn't find an .mst file anywhere. Am I completely lost??? Below is the knowledge base solution:

Issue
When you try to view a PDF in Internet Explorer, you see the error message, "There is a problem With Adobe Acrobat/Reader. Please exit Adobe Acrobat/Reader and try again." When you click OK to the error, the PDF opens outside of the browser.
Reason
When you use the Adobe Customization Wizard to create a transform for Adobe Acrobat 8 or Adobe Reader 8, and you choose the option to "Make Acrobat the default viewer if both Acrobat and Reader are installed", or "Make Reader the default viewer if both Acrobat and Reader are installed", an error occurs if the computer does not have Acrobat or Reader already installed.
Solution
Create a new transform and re-deploy Acrobat or Adobe Reader.
Start the Adobe Customization Wizard 8.
Open your previously created .mst file.
Under Installation Options, select "Installer will decide which product will be the default".
Save the transform.
Re-deploy Acrobat or Adobe Reader.
Additional Information
When you create a transform in Adobe Customization Wizard 8, the installation options allow you to set the default viewer for PDF files. "Installer will decide which product will be the default" is the default setting and should be used when you are uncertain if the target machine has a version of Acrobat or Adobe Reader that won't be removed as part of the installation process. When installed silently using this option, Acrobat will always be configured as the default viewer.I think you are headed down the wrong path. The Customization Wizard is what you use to push out Reader to several hundred computers. An MST is a package or transform file that is used to accomplish this task. Unless you are an IT person and are trying a deployment of Reader this solution does not fit your situation.

Strange problem with Adobe Acrobat X (crash without a trace)
Hi,
I have a strange problem with Adobe Acrobat. It happens totally randomly, it leaves no signs in system logs.
What is happening: during my work Adobe Acrobat sudennly crashes. After a crash I cannot run it again - system seems to do something for a second, but then nothing happends. When i look into taks manager - there are no processes of Acrobat.exe. It just doesn't want to run. What I need to do is to reinstall whole Adobe Acrobat - which requires restart.
I've already tried to restart system after crash, it doesn't help - reinstall is required.
Sometimes everyting is fine for a 3 months, sometimes crash happens a week after the previous one. It also happens in very different situations (somtimes while opening a file, sometimes when doing something simple, sometimes in more complex tasks).
Has anyone encountered a similar problem?

Please let me know what OS version you are using.
The error also shows OS requirements not met.
Futher please try the steps below :

> Disable all Non-Microsoft Startup Services. (Ref : http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/disable-startup-items-services-windows.html )
> Disable all the Antivirus softwares like CA, Norton,Mc Afee etc. temporarily from the computer.
Reboot and try installing in the new enabled Admin user account and check.

I can not download quicktime 7.7.3 for windows vista. The error message says that there is a problem with the windows installer. Any clues?

We are getting the following error "there is a problem with adobe acrobat/reader. if it is running please exit and try again. (523.523)" and a gray screen appears (Image not viewable) with multiple users. We are using Adobe Reader XI (11.0.05) and (11.0.06). The current workaround is to log off the website and log back in. Once the user logs back in, the pdf will appear. However it occurs anywhere from 2-8 times in a day. Anyone else having this issue or know of another workaround? Any suggestion with how to fix? Please help!!

Please let me know the version of Adobe Acrobat/Reader & operating system installed on your computer?
Also, try this:-
Launch Adobe Reader/Acrobat.
From the menu, choose Edit -> preferences -> General
Uncheck the option for "Enable Protected Mode at startup"
Restart the Adobe Reader and web browser.

I've a big problem with adobe acrobat reader XI pro and I hope you can help me.
The problem is; when I past copied text from some pdf books (not all of them) it past symbols only! wherever I past it! and even if I coped that text from another pdf reader (adobe pdf reader, internet browsers, ...etc.).
This problem started to happen since yesterday when I installed adobe acrobat reader XI pro to try it before I buy it, and before that when I was using the free adobe pdf reader I was totally able to copy any text from any pdf and past it anywhere with nothing wrong.
What can I do?

A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor." The iTunes file (64-bit) I am trying to install, is named "iTunes64Setup.exe". Yes, I had found a similar solution also. I'm running XP Pro, SP3. I went Control Panels/ Add-Remove programmes/apple software update/ change/ repair. Then run the 10.5 exe.
While the programme updated from version 8 of iTunes, my new iTunes is now a mess. Not all of my music was in the same folder previously but it all showed up on iTunes. Now many albums have been left out, some have only a few tracks and some have two copies of some tracks as well as having other tracks missing. I haven't begun to work on that. -
I have attempted to upgrade my iPad which is necessar to downloan an app I want (My Radar). The iTunes on my computer will not process the upgrade of 10.5 without message: "There is a problem with this Windows Installer Package. Little old lady needs help, my iTunes "appears to be 10.5 on my PC; however, will not upgrade my iPad. I have BitDefender as the "protector" on my PC if that is the issue.

Thanks!I have been in touch with Apple support in reference to my problem. We went through every solution available, and found no fix. The tech then suggested I contact Microsoft concerning this issue. I thought that suggestion was just to get me pointed somewhere but Apple. Boy was I wrong!! I contacted Microsoft, and was directed to a free download called Microsoft Fix. This program fixed something in the regisitor, and wala everything was fixed!! I now have I-Cloud and I-Tunes loaded and working well. So, if you can't install Apple Software and are running Window 7 you might give Microsoft Fix a try, it fixed my problem.....

I am trying to install itunes 10.5, but during the download I get the following message, "There is a problem with this Window Installer Package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personanal or package vendor." If this is my personal computer and was able to upgrade to the previous version (pre 10.5), why not now? What is my "package vendor"? And what is it I need to do to fix this? The message is unclear. Unfortunately, I deleted my itunes program, thinking that in doing so, 10.5 would finally load. Now I have no itunes on my computer and unable to sync my iphone. Help!

by "repair" I mean I went to the control panel, option - programs and features, and in the list of all my installed programs I selected "Apple Software Update". On top of the screen you find the options Uinstall, Change and Repair. I clicked the repair button and that did the trick. After the repair I could uninstall the program. I also uninstalled iTunes, Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Device Support en Bonjour, thus all Apple programs. Then I installed iTunes 10.5 again and everything went fine.

Repair your Apple software update.
Go to START/ALL PROGRAMS/Apple Software Update. If it offers you a newer version of Apple Software Update, do it but Deselect any other software offered at the same time. Once done, try another iTunes install
If you don't find ASU, go to Control Panel:
START/CONTROL PANEL/Programs n Features/highlight ASU and click REPAIR, -
When Upgrading on my laptop from iTunes 10.2.11 to 10.5.0 the message I get is: "There is a problem with this Windows Installer Package. Aprogram run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or pacakge vendor.
After reading all these posts, one by one did not resolve my problem until I got the very end. Regardless of what step would resolve your problem, these are the steps I would recomment to everyone for a what seems to be a safe and fool-proof upgrade to iTunes 10.5.
1. Stand alone upgrade to the latest Quicktime version
2. Go to control panel and "change" then select repair to the following applications in the order specified by the post on Oct 27. (Notice I skipped Quicktime because it had been upgrade manually,and Bonjour did not have a "repair" option)
iTunes; Apple Software Update: Mobile Device Support; Apple Applications Support
Some of these applications may not appear if they do not apply to your configuration (no iPhone, or no iPad, or other apple devices).
Once all updated, I did not need to restart nor launch any applications, I simply went straight into the 10.5 upgrade, and where it normally got stuck, this time the installation continued for a while longer until it completed successfully.

This is how it all started. When the new update for iTunes 11 came out, I tried to update it. After I had updated it I found nothing had changed. So i tried rebooting my computer and everything and found that still nothing had changed. So I tried uninstalling it. After that I tried to re-install it, but it came up with the
"There is a problem with this Windows Installer package ..." message. So I looked around the internet and found a website that told me to uninstall all Apple products. So i did that. When i tried to uninstall Apple Software Update, it came up with the 'problem with windows' message again. So I used Revo to uninstall it. So I rebooted and tried to install it again. It installed Bonjour and all of the other programs but stopped halfway and gave me the 'proplem with windows' message again. I've looked around and most of the solutions have been to try and repair Apple Software Update, but the problem is, I've already deleted it. So can someone PLEASSEEEE help me fix this problem!
