Problems with updating Flash player
I'm no longer able to catch up with tv programmes on the BBC iPlayer. When I try to do so I'm told I need to download an updated version of Flash player. When I try to do that I'm told that PowerPC is no longer supported. Any ideas?
First the bad news:
You need to be running Leopard to do the following:
Now the good news:
I am in the same boat. I cannot watch flash videos on the BBC website or on BBC iPlayer, although all other flash videos (YouTube for example) are fine.
For reasons that passeth all understanding, they work with the PPC version of Firefox, called TenFourFoxG5.app, once you have anabled plug-ins, as it does not natively support Flash.
You can download TenFourFoxG5 from here:
http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/
Now for the interesting bit: TenFourFox, like Firefox, does not support most plug-ins. Unless you are prone to headaches (in which case don't) you can read about that here:
http://code.google.com/p/tenfourfox/wiki/PluginsNoLongerSupported
But there is a workaround!
Open TenFourFox and type in the address bar: about:config (no spaces) and click return. This gives you a warning that it might harm the application. Ignore that and click on 'I'll be careful, I promise' and you get the config file that you can edit - with great care.
Look/search (scroll down) for: tenfourfox.plugins.enabled
Set it to true. (Double click it to toggle it)
Now close TenFourFox, open it again, and Flash will now work, as it now uses the plug-ins that Safari has stored.
I am using Flash 10.1.102.64 in TenFourFox and it works just fine.

Thanks.Hi,
Download and install ActiveX if you use Internet Explorer.
You need to install plug-in if you use Firefox, Opera, or Safari.
The following link has step-by-step information: http://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/en/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player- windows.html#main-pars_heading_5
Also, after installing ActiveX, ensure that you disable ActiveX Filtering in Internet Explorer. See the following link for details: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-games-video-or.html#main_2__Disable_Ac tiveX_Filtering__if_you_are_using_Internet_Explorer_9_

I have a problem with adobe flash player
I have a problem with adobe flash player.
It is install but not runningTry a fresh install of Flash after completely uninstalling it using the application Adobe Flash Player Install Manager, in the Utilities folder. Then re-download and install from ww.adobe.com
If you are still having problems you could try installing Google Chrome as it has its own version of Flash built-in and doesn't require the separate installation of Flash. -
Windows vista - IE 7 - problem with adobe flash player
last week I bought a notebook with MS vista home premium,
after some hours of
enthusiasm I had problems with adobe flash player.
Accessing to some sites I receiveed the requested to install
flash player, I did it and even if the installation seemed
ended fine I always got the pop up with the request to
install Flash player, as if it were not previously installed.
I did a boot after every installation.
I read your forum on:
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?forumid=44&catid=184&threadid =1262552&enterthread=y
and I tried to follow some suggestions reported on it , like
uninstall the flash player using the
downloaded uninstall program from adobe site then I tried to
reinstall flash player “as administrator”
but always the installation appeared to end fine, the
programs was present into macromed flash directory
but I continue to receive the pop up to install flash player,
moreover some
images commonly shown when I visit the same sites from
another PC with XP are not shown on the new
pc with Vista, I think that also this problem could be
connected to flash player not well installed
One of these sites is www.rossoalice.it or youtube.
At this point, I think that the problem can be on the
registry but I don’t know what I can check.
I sow on the above adobe forum that mr. Darren J. McNally was
involved in this kind of problem,
every your suggestions will be very appreciated.I got my computer about 6 months ago and i use
foxfire but i need explorer to work for my games but the adobe
flash player dont work i think if this cant be fixed vista i
probaly the gayest thing u can have on ur computer and adobe should
stop making flash players that dont work and just go do something
like sell stuffed animals at a carnival unless thats just to hard
for them and they wont do that right either. Grrrrrrrrrrr read this
and laugh or follow instructions or get back to. this be an angry
letter for sho. scuba steve out. and ahhhhhhh if u find solution
tell me asap or i will eat a cat for everyday u dont tell me im
gooing crazy about this omg

I believe that it is not Adobe or Flash Player doing this, but so far none of the other users who made similar complaints have posted a screenshot. -
Problem with adobe flash player on my new computer
I bought a new computer window 8 and as you know adobe flash player is already installed but now flash player won't play some videos on the windows 8 internet exploer unless i swicthed it to the desktop. when i try to watch it says i need to install flash player but i have flash player that says on windows 8. so i there any way i can watch my videos?
This reply is to both of you trying to help me through my ordeal with Adobe Flash Player. I followed both of your advices to no avail. I even enlisted the help of my husband to see if I was doing something wrong or missing a step. He assured me I was doing everything by the book.
Well, bottom line is number
1: I never found "Extensions Adds ons and Plug Ins" in Firefox. I looked everywhere and it's simply not on my screen. I opened everything, looked at every line, every box, every space (with my husband next to me looking also).
Number 2: I got a message that reads: Firefox prevented this site (get Adobe.com) from asking you to install software on your computer.
By the way, I uninstalled Webroot at the beginning and never reinstalled it. Restarted my computer. Tried all the steps you guys suggested, restarted my computer I don't know how many times.
One time I got Adobe Flash Player installed "successfully" and then I got excited and tried YouTube, videos on Facebook, CNN and guess what? Nothing. No Adobe Flash Player.
By the way, my husband has the same problem at his work computer. He got an Information Systems technician to work on this and voila! he could not fix the problem either. Any other suggestions out there? If anybody from Adobe reading this?
To say I am fed up is putting it mildly. I am so mad at Adobe for putting this piece of garbage out there. I can only compare it to Vista.
Oh by the way, I keep getting this notice that my" windows drivers are out of date" and guess what? I have no idea which ones because they don't say. I checked my updates and supposedly I am up to date. I went to Microsoft and they have a million, so how am I supposed to know which ones?
I am also upset at Microsoft, ha, ha.
I am going to bed, tomorrow will be another day. -

Ram problems with Adobe Flash Player 9
Hi,
I have a program that runs with Adobe Flash Player 9 and it
seems that there are memory leaks with this program, in conjunction
with a poker program known as Jungle Poker. My system resources
seem to go to 1 or 2%. The text gets bigger and I have to quit out
of the program. Once I do that its fine for anywhere from 5 to 30
minutes but it again has the problem.
My system specifications are:
I have a pentium 3 800mHz 128MB ram 30 GB hard drive with
\windows 98 SE
I have a picture of the problem if it helps.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Update problems with Adobe Flash Player preinstalled via Chrome. Can any one help?
Dears, I am using the Chrome and it says it has installed the Adobe Flash Player and the auto updater. I selected to be advised every time an update is available, before it gets installed. During the start up of my Windows system (i.e. the "autoexec" run) the Flash Player auto updater sometimes indicates there is an Adobe Flash Player update to be installed. Most of the time it is indicated BEFORE the autoexec finishes its sequence and thus still do not have an internet connection perfectly set up. At this point in time the adobe flash player auto updater window indicates there is an error and asks me to retry. Normally I wait a few seconds so the Autoexec run is finished and retry again. Most of the time the adobe flash player auto updater window indicates a second error message, claiming there is still an error. I have already attempted to connect the internet again and normally I am successful, indicating there is NOT a problem with the internet connection. At this point I give up trying to update the Adobe Flash Player and close the window. Can someone give me some light on how to fix this????
The Adobe Flash Player updater DOES NOT update the PepperFlash plug-in in Chrome. Chrome uses a PPAPI plug-in and Adobe ONLY updates the NPAPI plug-ins for IE and other browsers. You can ONLY update the PepperFlash plug-in for Chrome by updating Chrome. The PepperFlash plug-in is a separate file in a separate folder location.

Problems with Adobe Flash Player Update.
Hello volks,
I got a question. What can I do, when I get the window: Adobe Flash PlayerUpdate Service 11.6 r 602 does not work. Wait till you get information that the problem is fixt.? But nothing happens. Please help me. Till then thanks. DorisIt's really strange that Safari is showing as being active when you've definitely exited. I'm thinking that you have an application with an embedded Safari instance running, and it's invoking Flash Player. Not sure what that would be off the top of my head, but it's the only legitimate reason I can think of for the Safari process to be resident and keeping Flash in-use.
Here's what I think our best bet is for getting past this:
Download the uninstaller:
Uninstall Flash Player | Mac OS
Download the offline installer here, if you don't already have it:
http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/support/install_flash_player_osx. dmg
Restart the machine in Safe Mode. Just choose Apple > Restart, then hold shift down until the machine starts booting. If you did it right, you'll get a loading bar, and it will take an obnoxiously long time to restart. If it comes back up like normal, try again and hold shift longer.
Run the offline installer. You shouldn't hit any conflicting processes this time. Run the uninstaller. Once it's complete, run the installer.
Reboot your machine. -
