Problems with user mapping to download ESS Business Package for EP 6.0

Hi,
I am trying to download ESS Business Package for EP 6.0 but facing problems inspite of reading the SAP document on downloading Business Package. Here is my problem:
I start to download the package and to map the user ids. I am mapping the SDN user id to a SAP Service Marketplace user id as mentioned in the SDN website. But the download option is not working and gave an error when I clicked on the 'Download' link after user mapping.
It would help me a lot if anyone else who tried to download BPs after user mapping gave their feedback.
Can someone please clarify about the user ids and describe how can I download the ESS Business Package?

Hi,
from the description you provide I can't tell what the problem might be, so to determine the cause we need more information on this. Screenshots of the error message would be ideal.
In general, the following needs to be done:
- you need to be signed in at SDN with your Service Marektplace s user id
- the user mapping for the data source 'Service Marketplace' needs to be maintained

Problem with user mapping

Hello,
We got a problem with user-mapping to a SAP system.
We create a SAp system, and an alias to this system.
We add a user mapping for the administrator (user, not group). Check for connector is OK.
Now, we make the same user-mapping for a group.
if the user also belongs to the group "administrator" this mapping works, otherwise this fail with a message "com.sapportals.portal.ivs.cg.SystemNotFoundException: Got null system object for alias R3HR".
After checking, there is no user-mapping for the "administrator" group, nor for the roles that belong to that group, nor for the user.
So, it seem that the alias is only visible for an admin.
does any one got an idea ? we are on SP14, Linux.

HI Guillaume,
The user mapping is available for both Admin as well as end users.
Open your system from System Administration>System Configuration>System Landscape.
In the property editor,in dropdown for property category,
select the logon method as UID?password and User Mapping type to admin/user.
Then you can create a Group,map the system alias for this group and add users to this group.
Also,in the property editor for the system,from dropdown for display,select permissions , and add the group to asssigned permissions as READ ONLY and select the checkbox for ENDUSER.

Cannot download the business package for ESS or MSS

Hi All,
I'm trying to download the 'Business Package for Employee Self-Service
(mySAP ERP) via
http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/developerareas/contentportfolio. When I
click the 'Download' link, I get taken to the URL
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/docs/mappingtexts/sapnotesusermapping.htm
where I get an IE message "The page cannot be found".
Any idea why?
How can I download this business package ?
I also get the same problem when I try to download any other version of
ESS or any version of MSS.
Please respond ASAP as I am trying to prepare a demonstration for the business on Monday (tomorrow).

Browse to http://service.sap.com.swdc/
Click on content for Business Suite 2005 --> Select mySAP ERP 2005 - EndUser Service Delvery --> Select Employee Self Service --> Click on the link for BP for Employee Self-Service (mySAP ERP)
It should promt you to download the package.

Click on SDN Community on the top Navigation Panel
       In Detail Navigation you can see SAP Netweaver Capabilities --> User Productivity --> Portal and collaboration link, Click on it
       You can find Portal Content Portfolio, Click on it.
       In new window you can find Business Packages
       We have three types of categories:
            1) Business Packages for Every User
            2) Business Packages for Managers.
            3) Business Packages for Specialist.
    When you click on any of Categories, you can find related to that categories of    Business Packages.
     Click on Download   then it will ask for Service Marketplace id and password

Download WebEx Business Package for EP6 SP2

Hi
In the last couple of weeks I have tried to download the business package for WebEx for EP6SP2 but the download link here at SDN is not working, after talking to SAP Support the reply was that the dont deliver this business package anymore even though the download link is still accessible, and therefore I should receive the business package from WebEx.
I have been I dialog with WebEx Support which didnt know that they have a business package and has therefore been pushed around between different people from their support department.
5 weeks has passed and they are still not able to find this simple package.
Does anybody know where to download this package, or do you have any idea on whom to contact?

the Business Package for WebEx went out of maintenance on Sept 30, 2006 so I guess that's why it's no longer available for download. I tried to find the download link you used - where did you come across it?

Hi Mike,
ESS BP is a portal content (runs only on portal runtime) which can only be deployed and run on SAP J2EE server (So it is java based).

From EHP2 for ECC 6.0, you have an option choose ABAP WebDynpro for Travel related services. However, the portal content (iViews) is still on SAP J2EE server.

As you can see there are 3 BP's for ESS
1. Business Package for Employee Self-Service (mySAP ERP 2004) [BP v60.2]
2. Business Package for Employee Self-Service (mySAP ERP) [BP v1.0]
3. Business Package for Employee Self-Service 4.6C - 4.7 [BP v50.4]
option 1 and 2 can 100% run on EP7.0 as it is stated in there discription.
option 3 is not released to run on EP7.0 but from my experiance at a customer that implemented this, it works fine.

EP + BW: Problems with user mapping in the portal

Hi,
I'm trying to connect the portal with the BW by using the report RSPOR_SETUP which is a step-by-step guide. The steps #1 - #11 seems to be ok but my problem is the 12th step, the user mapping/allocation maintenance in the portal.
There is an error emerging (in BW): System failure during call of function module RSWR_RFC_SERVICE_TEST (System failure indicates normally an authentication problem between ABAP and Java)
Another error is emerging by testing the connection in the portal. (System administration u2013 system configuration u2013 system landscape u2013 connection test: the first connection, the SAP Web-AS connection is ok but the second, connection test for connector, is not working.
Especially the connection to the backend system with the defined connector is not working. The output is: u201CConnection failure. Check that single sign on is correct configured.
On step 12 of the step-by-step guide I have to select a user in the portal, relate him to a system alias und maintain his technical username and password for the BW. I think here is the problem. Iu2019m able to select and save a system alias for the user, but Iu2019m not able to save his technical username and password. There is another error emerging (in the portal): u201CVerification of user mapping data for system SAP_BW failed, check credentials for errorsu201D, so Iu2019m not able to save the username and password.
I think thats the my problem. the log file confirms that: "Did not find any existing logon data for principal...." & "No user mapping data available for principal...."
I hope my problem description is understandable.
Any ideas how I can solve the credentials problem to save the username and the password?

I could deploy some of the usage types, but there is an error regarding the BI-REPPLAN package. I think it's one of the very last errors that stands between me and a working EP - BI connection. There is a problem with the version. Could you check the log details, to find out more?

Downloading ESS Business Package

Hi Gurus,
I would like to download the ESS business packaage from SDN. When im doing so and when I click on the download link,noting happens.
Is id imperative that I have a licence to download it?
Isnt there an ESS BP like sneak preview?
How do I get a licence?
I have to implement XSS (Homepage Framework). Any suggestions and links on that will help.

Hi,
in case you are sure that you hold the required license for this Business Package, please check the following:
- you need to be signed with your S-User ID (the ID to Service Marketplace) at SDN
- additionally, you need to maintain User Mapping for this ID for the data source 'Service Marketplace' in 'My Profile'
If you still do not see a download icon, please check with your SAP account manager if you hold the required license.

Problem with Search Attributes iView in MDM Business package

Hello Everybody,
I am configuring MDM Search Attributes iView in Portal.
This iView should show data based on selected record in Search Hierarchy iView. But it is not showing any attribute data on Search Attributes iView.
Any idea what could be the problem.

Hi,
I tried the scenario on MDM 5.5 SP06 and its working fine.
Following are the steps:
1. Create the MDM System.
2. Create the Search Hierarchy iView
3. Create the Search Attributes iView
4. Create the page and place both the iViews into that page.
Now when i am changing the hierarchy,its corresponding attributes appear in the Search Attributes iView as expected.
Try the same on some different version.Then only we can conclude that it might be because of version.

Accedentally i had deployed the ESS Business Package for SAP ERP 2004.
Now i want to deploy ESS Business Package for SAP ERP.
How can i undeploy the existing one???
Can i imort tthe new one ? will there be any conflicts?

I have installed EP7.0, i want to evaluate Business Packages, but i cannot find out where i can download it, can anybody give me the download link or give me any docs related to Business Packages, i want to know how to utilize it to interact with own developed .net system. Thanks.

1) Download the Business Package for Employee Self Service (mySAP ERP 2004) from SDN using your SAP Service Marketplace ID.

2) Check the J2EE Version and Download the following Web Dynpro Development Components (patches) from service marketplace (Refer SAP Note 761266Self Service Patches to know the version to be downloaded):

Business Package for Employee Self-Service 4.6C - 4.7 - F4 key doesn't work

We have installed Business Package for Employee Self-Service 4.6C - 4.7 in our Portal version EP 6.0 SPS09 .We r accessing ESS into portal through ITS .I hav not installed any support packages for this Business Package.Our backend is R/3 system.We are a problem in accessing ESS iviews in Portal like F4 key doesnot work and no F4 help pop up appears.Are there any support packages also available for a Business Package.If yes where to find it and how to install it,can someone tell me wt might be the cause of this Error? and how to resolve it? I don't uderstand why u use MYSAP ERP ESS support package since u using SAP R3 4.7 as backend.
I think it's diffrent from SAP R3 4.7 ESS coz it's used webdynpro
so download the Business Package for Employee Self-Service 4.6C - 4.7 50.4 version
