Problems with webcam and microphone on Satellite with Windows 7

Hi,
I have installed Windows 7 on my Toshiba Satellite and all of a sudden the webcam and the microphone won't work.
I have tried to find the appropiate drivers, but I can't seem to find any.
Could anyone please help?

The webcam software is designed by Chicony.
Its notebook model independent and therefore the usage of webcam software which was released for other notebook models should not be a problem.
I recommend checking the driver area for Toshiba Satellite L500 series.
There you can download the drivers for Win 7 32bit and 64bit OS.

I was using "remote" with a D-link modem, that works fine at my iPad. But now I´m using only the cell phone as modem 3G, and don´t want to intall a router to put new cables at my notebook.

Just create a network with your notebook.

The previous owner has not given you the correct ID and password for you to use.

Careless? Possible, but unlikely. Most likely the phone was stolen from the first owner. It would be a VERY careless iPhone owner who did not erase their personal information from a phone before selling it, and to do that it is necessary to disable Activation Lock. HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC - Webcam and microphone issues

When attempting to use Skype or other videochat programs, I receive an error messaage asking me to enable webcam/microphone. I have gone into the control panel and checked that the integrated webcam and microphone are enabled. Perhaps the programs/drivers behind the hardware have been removed? I am not very computer savvy, but I am sure the issue is not a virus. Any help appreiated.

Problem with keyboard and audio on Satellite L40

Hi everybody,
I just installed XP SP2 on my Satellite L40 (BTW thanx to all you that have helped me overcome the problems during this operation with your threads), but I have some problem with my keyboard. I have an azerty keyboard and after I installed xp, it worked as a qwerty, I repared it, now all my letters are working fine, but i have some problems with some symbols, such as @, !, _,if you understand me.
Could somebody help me???
I also have problems with my audio, in fact I have no audio at all, in control panel it says that no audio device is found.
I saw some threads that said that I should first install kb888111, and another likely thing, but i can't find the other one. I've downloaded the sound driver from the toshiba website; thanx for helping me in that field also.

I have the same problem with sound...I have found hotfix kb888111 and I instaled that one...but when i wanted to start instaling sound driver a popup window say thet there is some error and can't continue with instaling sound driver...
I found hotfix kb888111 in this folder which i have downladed from toshiba site: english\sound driver\mshdqfe\win2k_xp\us\kb888111xps2....
i do not know what to do.....Does anybody else knows....

Satellite P745: Win 7 can't use webcam and microphone

Hi everyone,
I`ve just bought a Satellite P745 in a Best Buy store and, after getting it at home (Brazil),
I reinstalled the OS - the original was a Win 7 Home, I installed a Win 7 Pro.
The problem is that with the Win 7 Pro I simply can`t use my webcam and Mic.
The device neither is detected by Devices Manager, so I think it`s more than a missing driver.
I installed all the drivers from the Toshiba website.
My doubt is:
1. as I`ve read that this is a USB camera, is it possible that the device is not being detected because some kind of USB driver conflict? All USB drivers look like OK, but..
2. as a second option, is it possible that there`s some disconnected USB port inside the notebook?
3. After all, is there some ultimate test that I can make that gives me the answer if my USB is broken or if it`s just an installation issue?

This is possible too, but in my opinion the issue is related to a missing software

Of course, you should test the notebook with Toshiba preinstalled and configured image.
I hope you have created a Toshiba Recovery disk before you have formatted the HDD and installed Win7 Pro. Such recovery disk would help you to set the notebook back to factory settings and to test the webcam and mic
However, you should also try to install the webcam software and should also test if the internal mic is enabled in control panel -> sound -> recording tab.
Usually if you want to use internal mic, then this should be set as default device.

Basically when i debug it with AIR, the chat is working properly but the webcam and whiteboard just don't work....I really don't know what's wrong with it already...Appreciate it if anyone can help,thanks!!

My take is , is your autopromote tuned on for the room. I mean whats
your user role when an user enters the room(who is not host), is it 10
or 50. If its 10 i.e. viewer , then he cant use his own cam etc. You
need to take a look at the logs when an user enters and if its 10 and
you want to give him these permissions, turn autopromote on from the
devconsole for the room to make his role 50 i.e. publisher.
I just now downloaded 2.5.1 AIR and created a new project with your
source and I am able to use everything.

Any known problems using IE6 and Adobe Reader 7 with LC:RM?

On an properly configured LC:RM server only allowing certificate (X509) authentication,
Adobe Reader 7 always pops up some Username/Password dialog for authentication.
Reader 8 and 9 work fine with certificates.
Is this an known restriction, that
Reader-7 does not support X509 authentication?

In addition we now found out, that Users having an authenticating Proxy
may even need to upgrade to Adobe Reader 9 to be able to use LC:RM.

Internal Webcam and Microphone not working after Screen Fix

I own a HP Envy Spectre XT Ultrabook, and last week I tried to use the webcam and the microphone for the first time in a few months.
However I was shocked to find that Skype kept saying that the webcam was not detected. The microphone also could not register any sound.
Device Manager did not show any imaging devices or the webcamera, even after setting it to view non-present devices.
A check using msinfo32 did not review the webcamera either, and there were no problem devices.
Control Panel >> Sound showed that the Internal Microphone using IDT High Definition Audio Codec was enabled and working, however it could not detect any sound. All drivers are checked to be up-to-date.
I suspect this has something to do with the screen repair last month which a HP on-site technician came down to replace my screen, although I cannot be 100% sure. Although the screen is now working, the technician did not do a good job reassembling the screen - the bottom left corner of the screen cover has not be able to attach properly to the screen.
I have gone through my BIOS setup to make sure that there is no webcam disabled.
I have tried rolling-back and reinstalling the drivers for the microphone but it did not work.
I have tried uninstalling CyberLink YouCam (laptop preinstalled webcam software).
Please help, these two components are very important to me as I am going overseas soon. The laptop is still under warranty.

For troubleshooting your Webcam, I would suggest taking a look at the document Webcam Troubleshooting (Windows 7). I would suggest the two options Video does not appear in your webcam software (such as YouCam, Skype, Messenger, ect.), and Webcam is not listed in Device Manager.
For your internal microphone not working either, please take a look at the document Resolving Microphone and Line-in Problems (Windows 7). From this document, I would suggest following the top two symptoms.
Please let me know the outcome of these troubleshooting steps.

4s Hotspot tethering only works with USB and BT but not with wifi

Hi,
XP sp3 - iPhone 4s with ios 5.0.1 - on Three one plan
Tethering with wifi works to a friends Samsung phone, wifi on the pc confirmed working with the apple store wifi, tethering with USB and BT works with good connection speeds on my laptop but when i try to tether with wifi it connects to the laptop at 54mbps and all appears well, even claims to have received a small amount of data packets, but no data comes to any browser. The iPhone reports 1 connection to the hotspot and stays connected with a non-pulsing blue bar after the first minute.

I've deleted my firewall (zone alarm) completely and turned off windows firewall to go naked surfing for a second even though they don't cause a problem with USB tethering, makes no difference
I've deleted the network connection numerous times

dissabled and enabled the wifi
turned off the wireless with a hardware switch and on again
disabled bluetooth
rebooted many times
reinstalled itunes (latest)
loads more things i can't remember
This is causing me a nightmare. I've been through everything i can find online, been to the Apple store genius bar (genius appeared to have sub zero knowledge / interest as it involved a MS machine), been to a Three shop (legally not allowed to touch my PC apparently) and been to a Sony shop (laptop make, not their fault if my iphone doesn't work). All very frustrating.
Please help if you can! Any suggestion will be tried unless it involves sledge hammers or lakes, and only then for a few more days at most.

Turned off bluetooth on phone, turned off hotspot and on again, phone asked if i wanted to turn on bluetooth or go with USB and wifi only, said usb/wifi only. Still nothing. Rebooted PC and iphone. Turned on hotspot, pc seemlessly connects to network, still no data comes.
One odd thing is zone alarm asks me to "select a security zone for the wireless network at ip address: *******.0" every time and doesn't seem to remember the setting over sessions. When i get the status of the connection the ip address is *****.2 and default gateway is same ********.1 Not sure if that's anything.
Also getting a javascript error about an undefinded component (trustcheckermozilla) since i updated zonealarm but as i said even completely uninstalling zonealarm made no difference. I'll update firefox as well but tried with IE and still no data.

Trouble with anchor and reference attributes combined with a Correlation ID

Greetings, I'm a little green on FIM and looking for some advice.
We have an HR system where we store the information on Contractors, Interns, and Employees.
The business process for converting Contractors and Interns to Employees is to terminate the Contractor and re-hire as an Employee. This gives us a different employee number for the "live" entry in the HR system.
Also, there is a "Supervisor No" attribute that is a Reference attribute for their manager. This is their employee number.
What do I do in FIM? If the Employee number is the anchor, won't the system consider the employee a new object? Is there a way to connect the new employee record to the metaverse object that was a contractor or intern, and update the anchor attribute (the
new employee number)?
I was thinking of using a different custom field in the HR system as the FIM_Sync. But just realized that if this became the anchor, then no managers would connect since the Supervisor No is an Employee number.

I read some of the articles on Correlation ID that are in the 2003 version of MIIS the TechNet library. So a follow up question would be what happens between the CS and MV when the HR object changes.. Assuming I have this FIM_Sync attribute to be my
Correlation ID.
Contractor is created. Employee ID is anchor and FIM_Sync field is populated.
New object in CS
Projected into MV
Provisioned out to AD and other systems, but they don't have the FIM_Sync attribute in their schema.
Business Event.. Contactor converted to Employee:
Contractor in HR system terminated (employment_state) and FIM_Sync entry removed.
Employee record created in HR system and FIM_Sync value populated with what it was in the contractor record
New Employee object in CS
Does Contractor get disconnected?
Does the Employee CS object get joined to existing MV object?

At one of my previous projects we solved the same scenario as following:
1. That was not a fully automatic process.
2. Once we receive event that Contractor is terminated in HR, we put that user in "Terminated Contractors" set, disabling his active accounts, where the object resides for 30 days (business policy) before his accounts are removed from target systems.
3. There's a custom workflow which triggers a notification to administrators if the following criteria are met:
Name/Surname of fresh Employee are equal to one of the members of "Terminated Contractors" set
Employee record from HR came within a week after Contractor's termination date (also, a business policy, agreed at customer's level. HRs are lazy and not necessarily process that transfer same day).
4. IAM Administrator contacts HR to ensure that persons in question are actually the same one. Upon confirmation, manual join is made. Once object is joined, Correlation ID is written back to HR (actually, a buffer database acting as HR source) to ensure
that the join can be made automatically.
We faced several problems, though, which are beyond the scope of FIM itself:
1. HRs were creating Employee record before terminating Contractor's one. A major pain, since new accounts are created, et cetera.
2. HRs were creating Employee records too late (that's why we set a "timeout" for a week, initially it was two days)
3. We had a case once when Contractor was terminated and new Employee came with the same name, but those were different people and HR application doesnt allow to differentiate "contractor fired" and "contractor moves to employee" events. That's why we had
to stick to a manual and documented procedure.

This has to do with a defective device purchased through VZW. If it was purchased directly from HTC then yes of course file a complaint against HTC.
Mobile customers are in the mindset that if they purchase their device through the carrier it's the carrier's responsibility to handle defective devices. VZW could have easily said to the OP that not our problem contact HTC and washed their hands of it. Instead they decided to send another defective device to the OP.

My new ipod won't sync with itunes and does not show on windows

I got a new ipod nano gen 7 to replace 2 old ipods that were stolen. the problem is that it won't sync at all. When I plug it in it charges, but my windows 7 browser doesn't see it, and neither does my itunes. I have Mcafee security and I have updated itunes, windows and checked my mcafee settings as per other users issues on the web and it still isn't working! If I plug it into another computer though it works fine.
Have tried - resetting ipod, downloading upgrades, switching firewall off.
No idea what else i can do!
