Problems with Westell 7500 Gateway
Hi guys I have a problem with a westell 7500 series wireless gateway. Having recently upgraded to the gateway from an old 6100 series modem, I am having some issues keeping computers synced with the gateway. Every time I restart my computer connected to the ethernet portion of the gateway, I must re-enter my default gateway on my computer's ipv4 settings. I have dedicated ip's set up for every computer on the network and all of them have problems recognizing the gateway. Even setting the ipv4 to autodetect the settings, it locks me out of the internet saying it is a public network. I have verified all my settings in the gateway and it is set up for private connections only. Any help that someone could give would be appreciated. Thanks
When you are online, is an IP Address on computer the same IP Address that is on http://www.whatismyip.com/ ?

New time capsule with Westell 7500 gateway
I am trying to connect the newest time capsule to a westell 7500 Gateway via ethernet and extend my network throughout my house. I am having no luck at all with getting the time capsule set up. Any ideas would be sooo greatly appreciated.
You cannot extend wireless from a non-apple router. Is the Westell 7500 wireless??
You must use ethernet.. plug the TC into the router and put it in bridge mode.. that is router bridge.. not wireless bridge. You can use EOP adapters in some cases..
There is a way to join the TC by wireless.. but when you do that.. the TC becomes a dumb client.. no wireless extend and no ethernet. It will behave as another computer on the network. -
DSL - Westell 7500 Gateway - PLEASE HELP!
I recently moved my DSL service from one house to another and had my service upgraded from 1 to 3 mbps. I ordered a new modem (Westell 7500 Gateway) as well. I am unable to connect to the internet. I connected the new modem, the lights are all correct but I am unable to connect to the internet at all. Tech support has been no help at all. Now, when I go back to the older modem, I cannot connect with that one either. Tech support had me do a ip config/release several times but nothing works. Please help.
Since you just told me you originally had the wrong phone number I'm thinking you might be hooked up to the wrong split bank at the Verizon Office. Give them a call and have them check out out your line. Ask if they can send a ticket to the frame to co-op test at the split bank.

With my own laptop I have no problems with a wireless connection. However, when someone else comes over and we try to connect a different wireless laptop we are able to connect to the westell using a WEP key but we cant get on the internet. 4x is disabled. Authentication is open. WEP enabled. MAC filtering and hide SSID are disabled. Can you please help? This has happened with both XP and Vista machines.
I, too, have the Westell 327. I get good download speeds to my desktop, but very weak signal to my laptop and downstairs devices, so after a hired tech tried to get it to work better, he suggested a range extender. Now,$100 later, it seemed to work for about a week, so I made my first of tho on-line chats with online support. After three hours, I made the mistake of allowing a remote access to my setup. Ater changing some settings on my Westell 327, he ignored that little "you're about to lose wireless connectivity, and promptly dropped the session. Two hours later, no call back despite his having both my home (dsl) and cell numbers. So I logged on again the next day. Three more hours, and no result. They seem always to assume it's something wrong with my laptop, and ignore repeated requests for a better modem/router. The tech mentioned the Westell 7500 and an "Action Tech", but refused to provide information and just kept saying I'd have to talk to billing. I don't want to buy a router to replace the deffective one they sent me. But, if that's the only thing that will work, please let us know what kind to buy, where and how much it cost. I can't wait for FIOS to come to town! Thanks.

Range extender compatable with Westell 7500
I want to extend my DSL wireless to my garage/shop, about 150 feet from the house where my Westell 7500 router is located. In doing a search I saw that a Verizon rep recommended the Linksys Range Expander, WRE54G. However, there was no mention of the wireless router being used. Is that expander compatable with the Westell 7500 or is there another alternative that will work so I can use my laptop in the shop?
Just spoke with Linksys tech support and they said 'no' to a G range extender with an N network. (I have WRT150N router and WUSB300 adapter.) Wanted to boost the signal, but they said the router already has a built-in range extender and the WRE54G wouldn't help.

WLAN Problem with 5800 - No Gateway Reply
Hey, basically my problem is similar to most of the ones about the 5800, but I'm trying to connect to my university network, so I can't play around with any of the settings of the network, I was just wondering if anyone had connected to a network like this one, or if they have overcome the no gateway reply problem, or just if you had any advice. Thanks, Phil
Hi,
search this forum with the following search term:
"e65 WLAN 802.1x TKIP PEAPv0"
From the results you should get some ideas on how to proceed.
Cheers,
Timo

RD Gateway 2012 R2 (DMZ) - Problem with authentification (NULL SID)
Hello,
I have a problem with a RD Gateway 2012 R2, that domain users can't log on over the RD Gateway to the RD Sessionhost. I get an error message in the eventlog on the RD Gateway.

The domain administrator can log on successfully over the RD Gateway. When i log on a domain user on the RD Gateway server console first and then log on over the RD Gateway, the authentication works fine.
The RD Gateway 2012 R2 has been installed as well as the instructions (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc754191.aspx). I have tried a lots of things, but without a result.
e.g.
register NPS in the AD
all ports in the Firewall between LAN and DMZ are opened
set the "Network security: LAN Manager authentication level" to "Send NTLMv2 response only"
re-install of the RD Gateway 2012 R2
Environment:
All machines have Windows Server 2012 R2 or Windows 8/8.1 with the latest updates. All servers are virtualized with Hyper-V.
Domaincontroller (LAN)
RD Sessionhost (LAN)
RD Gateway (DMZ)
Clients (DMZ/WAN)
Hardware-Firewall (3-zone)
Does anyone have an idea, what might be the problem?
Best regards,
BpDkHi,
From your description seems there is user permission issue and that’s the reason you can’t logon to the remote desktop. For this you can I would like to check whether you have done the following steps for troubleshooting.
Need to create RD CAP and RD RAP policies and also add the user under RD CAP properties for proper access. RD CAPs allow you to specify who can connect to an RD Gateway server. You can specify a user group that exists on the local RD Gateway server or in Active
Directory Domain Services. You can also specify other conditions that users must meet to access an RD Gateway server. You can list specific conditions in each RD CAP. For example, you might require a group of users to use a smart card to connect through RD
Gateway.
When there is no AD DS in the perimeter network, ideally the servers in the perimeter network should be in a workgroup, but the RD Gateway server has to be domain-joined because it has to authenticate and authorize corporate domain users and resources.
Please check below article for more troubleshooting and provide access & authenticate user.
RD Gateway deployment in a perimeter network & Firewall rules

Hope it helps!
Thanks.

Continuing problem with 21 XL cartridge
I bought a 21 XL cartridge for my PSC 1410 a week ago. First for one print everything worked fine. The next time I tried to print it showed the "low ink level" appeared and I followed the instructions on the website http://h41112.www4.hp.com/promo/21xl-info/uk/en/trigger.html and ignored it. But I could not just continue printing as sugested on the website. The red LED-light kept on blinking, the display sowed "E" for empty. After several laptop restarts, taking the cartridges out and puting them in again and dis-and reconecting the USB cable I could print again this morning. But now that I restarted my laptop again the same problem occured and I can't seem to fix it. The warning is also shown in another design as the website suggests. It is very very annoying and timeconsuming!!!
I'm glad for any info/tips!Thanks in advance!I am having the same problem with the 7500 All in One.
The color ink is great. THe XL black isn't printing. I am ging to get a regular black ink tomorrow and see if that works.

Port Forwarding Issues with Westell a 7500
I'm having troubles getting port forwarding to work on my Westell 7500 router. I have used the instructions provided at http://www22.verizon.com/ResidentialHelp/HighSpeed/Networking/Troubleshooting/PortForwarding/123866....
Having set up my own port forward I had my aplication test the port and I was told it was closed. Then I went to a third party web based port testing site (http://www.canyouseeme.org/) to confirm that the port was indeed closed and not just a problem with my aplication. The site told me that the port was closed.
So I decided to try one of the pre-created port forwards included with the modem. Using the port number provided I changed the port my aplication used and it still self-tested as closed. I then went back to canyouseeme and it too told me that the port was closed.
I should also note that in the "Port Forwarding" screen on the router the delete icon (I'm assuming that is what it is - the icon has a red X through it) does not respond to being clicked on. When I hover the mouse over the icon I get the following text overlay in the bottom left corner of the Chrome browser window - javascript:deleteEntryStart(5,document.TableMgr,0);
To sum up, neither a personal nor a pre-fab port forward show in tests to be working and a function also appears to be not working.
Here's the rub - I am told by tech support that this is an L3 issue. L3 issues are not covered under regular tech support and are very expensive buy. My gut feeling is that the router is defective, but I need some way to confirm this before I start making a stink with customer service. I don't want to spend $39.00 to be told my router is broken before I can send it in and I have a feeling that customer service is going to want to have solid evidence that the problem is not pilot error before ponying up for a replacement modem.
Does anyone have any suggestions for testing the router more thouroughly? Is this a known issue? Or does anyone have any suggestions about programming the port forward?
Thank you in advance for taking the time to address this!
Solved!
Go to Solution. If I am not mistaken, the firewall in the router must be at least low.
Otherwise, it will ignore all rules (or something along that line).

Problem with RD gateway manager
Hi,
Have some problems with manager. It used to work, but suddenly I can't connect to local server.
Get this error:
"The RD Gateway Managment snap-in console cannot connect to the server. To connect to this server, you must be a memeber of the local administrators group on the server."
The user account that i'm using is a member of the local administrator group.
Any ideas?
The RDS server is a Win2012 server. The AD server is a win 2008 R2 server.
Thanks
\KentHi Kent,
Thanks for your comment.
For this you need to create RD Rap and RD CAP policies. When you create the RD RAP, add the user groups that you defined in the RD CAP. Also, create a new RD Gateway-managed computer group that contains both the NetBIOS names and the fully qualified domain
names (FQDNs) of the RD Session Host servers or the RD Session Host server farm that hosts the RemoteApp programs.
Please check below article for information.

2.How To Work with RD Gateway in Windows Server 2012
Hope it helps!
Thanks.

Codec problem with one gateway
I am having a very strange problem with one of my gateways. No matter how I set up my regions and device pools I continue to have all calls go through this gateway as G729. This would be fine except that I can't do conference calls because of codec mismatches.
The gateway is a PRI running H323. CM 3.2.2(c) Gateway is a 3640 running 12.2.11(t)
All regions are currently set to G711.
I read something about a command under voice-port that sets the default codec. What I don't understand is, if this is what is causing it to go to G729, why is this the only gateway that ignores the regions.
Any help would be appreciated.Cisco VoIP gateways support the codec negotiation feature. This feature provides the ability for a Cisco VoIP gateway to connect to other VoIP devices without necessarily knowing which codec is used for a call-setup. Also, this feature allows Cisco VoIP gateways to dynamically adjust to changes on remote devices. As long as the codec used by the remote VoIP device matches the capabilities-list of the Cisco VoIP gateway, the VoIP call is completed.
The following example shows how to configure codec negotiation:
Cisco-router# config t
Cisco-router(config)# voice class codec 1
!--- This sets up class 1 to be assigned to the dial peer.
Cisco-router(config-class)#codec preference 1 g723r63
Cisco-router(config-class)#codec preference 2 g729ar8
Cisco-router(config-class)#codec preference 3 g711ulaw
Cisco-router(config-class)#codec preference 4 g726r32 bytes 240
!--- These commands define the preferred codec list using 1,2,3, and 4 to set the preference.
Cisco-router(config)#dial-peer voice 1 voip
Cisco-router(config-dial-peer)#voice-class codec 1
!--- This assigns voice-class codec 1 to the dial-peer
Cisco-router(config-dial-peer)#destination-pattern 4723155
Cisco-router(config-dial-peer)#session target ipv4:192.168.100.1 -
Problem with Mobile Gateway 1.0 Configuration
reffering to the config guide for mobile gateway 1.0 (https://websmp102.sap-ag.de/~sapdownload/011000358700000518422009E/Config_Guide_MGW_SP01_rev.pdf) we are facing some problems with the configuration in the DOE.
In Chapter 4.1.1.4 a SWCV "MAS_SMARTPHONE" is mentioned, which is not available in our System, though all other steps before have been successfully executed.
We are on SP08 and SWCV "SAP BASIS 7.10" is activated and generated.
Does anyone know a workaround?
Thanks in advancei think i located the problem in the DOE.

I am getting error while accessing url of lyncweb.domain.com, dialin.domain.com and meet.domain.com pointing to RP server.
502 - Web server received an invalid response while acting as a gateway or proxy server.
There is a problem with the page you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed. When the Web server (while acting as a gateway or proxy) contacted the upstream content server, it received an invalid response from the content server.
