Problems with wifi networks, need a fix in new iOS 7 update.

Can Apple make a new feature for Wifi networks that has a button for disconnect from this network in new iOS 7 update? Because it irratering me when you want to disconnect from iPhone to iPad shared wifi network, you have to delete the network or it will be stuck for forever until you turn it off on iPhone. So long i know iPad is affected to this, but it can happen to iPhone too.
And one more thing, I want to have a device list that you can kick them out on only shared wifi network like iPhone to iPad.

Unless I'm missing something obvious, can't you just turn on Airplane mode? Or maybe just turn off Wi-Fi on the device if you need cell access to remain enabled?

    thank you greatly
also i would like to know what are the diffrences with the bluetooth 4.0 vs 2.1

    Hi,
I had HUGE issues with a BlueAnt Q2 on the 4, and after five exchanges, I had to get rid of the phone becuase the Apple store admited that they had "some bluetooth issues."
I still have the Q2, and I was wondering the same thing becuase I realy want an iphone.

  • Problems with WiFi network connectivity post 2.1 upgrade

Have been having problems with WiFi connectivity since installing the 2.1 upgrade. When attempting to view some websites I get a "Safari cannot open the page because it is not connected to the internet" message. The same addresses can be resolved from my iMac at the the same time. Other websites don't have problems. Funnily enough www.apple.com is one of the effected sites.
I can also only sporadically gain access to the App store & the iTunes store from the device. I mostly get a message stating - "Cannot connect to iTunes store".
I am connecting through a WPA encrypted access point. I have tried restoring the device, resetting network settings, etc.
Has anyone else experienced this? After work tonight I will temporarily set my access point to WEP, just to see if the problem may be related to WPA. I have read that the iPod touch is effected by this.
    Thanks,
    Matt

No problem. The iPhone uses lower power on the WiFi transceiver to save the battery. It won't have the 50 meter range that one might see for other devices. As long as it works reliably when it is closer to the access point it is working normally.

  • Problems with wifi network after waking from sleep

I have recently started using a new wifi network and have had some problems connecting to it. When i first tried to connect it gave a message that said "An error occured while trying to join". After some trial and error, I found that I could connect by going to network preferences, clicking "Assist me...", then "Diagnositcs...", clicking the AirPort dot then continue, then clicking on the network name and continue, then it prompts for a password, but there isnt one so i just pushed continue and all of a sudden it connected. I figured it was functional now, but after waking it from sleep mode, the error message popped back up. The only way I know to connect is through that annoying diagnostics path... What is the Problem, is it the computer or the router or the settings on the admin computer? (by the way, I don't know what kind of router it is, but its definantly not an apple airport)

Sorry to drag this back up, but I may have found the source of the problem, I just need the solution. When I first created settings for the network, it automatically "detected" that the security was WPA2 Enterprise, and knowing there was no password, I just pushed join and it saved it that way. When I go through diagnositics as described before, it lists WEP as the encryption. I had a friend with almost the same problem, but in tiger. They were able to fix it by changing the encryption on the login screen that comes up when you click on the network name from the menu bar. But that screen no longer exists in Leopard, it only goes by previous settings. How do I change the encryption in settings, I'm sure it will fix the problem...

  • Problem with wifi network.

I've had my macbook pro for a little under a month and have had no problems with it up until this weekend. The problem is this; whenever I try to log onto a wifi network, the computer says that I'm connected but when I go to open Safari it says that I'm not connected to the internet. I've run a network diagnostic and it says that nothing appears to be wrong with the connection. Usually if I turn off my wifi and turn it back on I can get my connection to work but it usually takes a few tries. I've had the same issue both at my house and my parents' so the issue seems to be with my computer versus with a specific wifi network...any suggestions?

  • Problem with wifi connection ever since I upgraded to ios 6?!

My wifi isn't working right and I just upgraded to ios about an hour ago. I clicked on the wifi network I wanted to join, and I have a connection but when I click on it, apple.com comes up and asks me to "Log In" but on the page it says "Sorry the page you're looking for can't be found" I'm not sure if this is an ios 6 problem or just a problem with my ipod/wifi, but please help me?!

Common problem.  Ugh.  I was hoping to find hope in these forums.  ipad 1 and ipod touch 4 both are unable to use the app store for anything other than software updates!  Crash crash crash.
And people are complaining about the maps!?

  • Torch 9860 - Problem with wifi network

    Hi,
I have a BB Torch 9860 and the internet access doesn´t work properly when connected to a wifi connection.
With my carrier data plan, everything works. Every time i connecto to a wifi connection, the internet access stops working. I tried to clean all registered networks, added new networks, everything i can remember of, but nothing works. The only way to get internet access on my phone, is with the carrier´s data plan.
Is this some kind of bug or software block?
I serched through the forum, and tried some of the solutions and sugestions, but nothing works.
The only satisfied part with this purchase so far is my carrier who seems to be very happy with the access through their data plan!
Can anyone give me a hand on this subject?
    Thanks,
    Rui

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Not knowing what you already found and attempted, we risk redundancy...nevertheless, with that risk...
With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
    2) Resend Service Books (pre-BB10 devices only)
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
    3) Reboot
With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support. In very rare cases, I have heard of carriers blocking the use of BIS via WiFi...but only they (your carrier) can answer as to if that is what they are doing.
    Oh...wait...another though...a bit of a wild one...please check this:
Article ID: KB30076 How to check for an IT Policy on a BlackBerry smartphone
If you have an IT Policy and are on BES, then talk to your BES admins about if they may perhaps be blocking this. If you have an IT Policy but are not on BES, then you have much bigger problems to deal with...you will need to backup your device, conduct a ResetToFactory, and then restore your device (but ONLY partial...do not do a full restore or it will put the IT Policy back on and you'll be right back where you started).

  • Big problems with my account; need advice setting up new one!

Hi - for the last few weeks I’ve been experiencing some weird things on my Mac! Events on iCal can’t be deleted, software keeps forgetting Registration codes so I have to reinput them everytime I launch the app, and other weird things!
I’ve spent many hours on the phone to MobileMe help, and AppleCare none of who have diagnosed the problem.
I’m guessing that some kind of Pref or Library file/folder has thrown a wobbly and is causing general corruption throughout my Account.
Someone suggested creating a new User Account and seeing if the problems do away; this I have done and certainly the iCal problem has disappeared. So, I’m planning on using this new Account from now on. Thing is (despite being logged in as an Admin) there are files from my ‘old’ account that is can’t open ‘cos it says I don‘t have sufficient permissions. Is there a quick/easy way to just allow all my old files to be open/available in my new Account?
    Thanks,
    andy

Wrong approach. Since the issue is specific to your original user account, you can proceed in two ways. One is to log into your new account, make a list of the preference files (plists) located in /username/Library/Preferences/, including any in the ByHost subfolder, log back into the original account, move everything on that other account's list from the original account's Preferences folder into a newly created folder on the Desktop, log out and back in, and see if the problem goes away. If so, you can copy the ones in the Desktop folder (one at time) back into /Preferences/, restart, and see if the problem returns. If so, you've identified the corrupt/conflicting one. Continue with all of them until isolating the bad ones. That'll save you the trouble of resetting preferences.
The second way is much more detailed and I'll not burden you with the steps unless the above doesn't fix the issue.

  • Homehub 3 problems with wifi and network - please ...

I am hoping someone can help me, as I am struggling to work out why I am getting so many problems with my network at home.
I have BT Infinity, and a Homehub 3A. I have had BT broadband for years. Infinity was added in Feb 2013. The HH3A is the original one supplied to me years ago.
When Infinity was installed I also added a pair of TP Link powerline adapters, to provide a connection to an unmanaged network switch in the lounge.
A rough outline of what I have connected to the router is:
    Wired
    - Synology NAS Diskstation
    - Win7 laptop
    - powerline adapter
    Wifi
    - 3 iphones
    - 2 ipads
    - Win7 laptop
    - 2 Win Vista laptops
    Powerline / network switch
    - Sonos bridge
    - TV
    - BluRay
    - Vodafone booster
    - SkyHD
Recently I am getting a number of different problems:
    1) wifi drops to everything connected to the router, at the same time, all blue lights are on the router
I lose wifi connection to the internet, from all devices, at the same time, but also the connection from my laptop to the NAS drops.
    2) Anything connected to the Powerline adapter is rarely available
I try and connect to Sonos, or my sky box or the TV, but they aren't connected to the router. The lights on the powerline adapters indicate everything is fine, and the HH3 has all blue lights. But my iphone and laptop cannot find my Sonos. My iphone app cannot find my sky box. And on the TV it says it is not connected to the internet. To solve this problem I have to power cycle the pair of Powerline adapters.
    Some observations:
    1) these problems are all since Infinity was installed. I have no idea if that is relevant.
    2) My NAS Diskstation has a powersave mode. I noticed last night that when I woke it up, the powerline adapters disconnected briefly, before reconnecting. But when they did reconnect I could not access anything connected to them. It was as if the NAS had booted them off the network, and then they couldn't get back on.
    3) I run a 10m brand new Cat5e cable from the infinity modem to my router, because the modem is in the garage.
Can anyone help? I am tearing my hair out with this.
    Thanks for any help.

If you set the devices on the home hub to always use the same IP address, then that can help.
The problem is that when the DHCP lease expires, the home hub often gives the device a different IP address, and this breaks the port forwarding rules.
Some routers allow you to specify which IP addresses are to be reserved, but the home hub does not.

  • Frustratingly, since I upgraded to Yosemite 10.10, I too am having the worst problems with WiFi dropping out. I've never had this problem before on my iMac 27-inch mid 2011 model. Turning WiFi off and then back on again sometimes works. Help please.

Frustratingly, since I upgraded to Yosemite 10.10, I too am having the worst problems with WiFi dropping out. I've never had this problem before on my iMac 27-inch mid 2011 model. Turning WiFi off and then back on again sometimes works. Help please. I've already tried a lot of your suggested fixes, but without success. Why hasn't Apple Fixed this?

Please test after taking each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved. Back up all data before making any changes.
    Step 1
Take the applicable steps in this support article. The Wireless Diagnostics program generates a large file of information about your system, which would be used by Apple Engineering in case of a support incident. Don't post the contents here.
    Step 2
Disconnect all USB 3 devices. If you don't know which are USB 3, disconnect all USB devices except keyboard and mouse.
    Step 3
If you're not using a wireless keyboard or trackpad, disable Bluetooth by selecting Turn Bluetooth Off from the menu with the Bluetooth icon. If you don't have that menu, open the Bluetooth preference pane in System Preferences and check the box marked Show Bluetooth in menu bar. Test. If you find that Wi-Fi works better with Bluetooth disabled, you should use the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band. Your router may not support it; in that case, you need a new router.
    Step 4
Open the Energy Saver pane in System Preferences and unlock the settings, if necessary. Select the Power Adapter  tab, if there is one. Uncheck the box marked
              Wake for Wi-Fi network access
    if it's checked.
    Step 5
Open the Network pane in System Preferences and make a note of your settings in the Wi-Fi service. It may be helpful to take screenshots of the various tabs in the preference pane. If the preference pane is locked, unlock it by clicking the padlock icon and entering your administrator password. Delete Wi-Fi from the service list on the left by selecting it and clicking the minus-sign button at the bottom. Then recreate the service by clicking the plus-sign button and following the prompts.
    Step 6
    In the Wi-Fi settings, select
              Advanced... ▹ TCP/IP ▹ Configure IPv6: Link-local
    Click OK and then Apply.
    Step 7
    Reset the System Management Controller.
    Step 8
    Reset the PRAM.
    Step 9
Launch the Keychain Access application. Search for and delete all AirPort network password items that refer to the network. Make a note of the password first.
    Step 10
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service center.

I'm having similar issues with my phone.  I got my first iPhone recently, only had an iPod touch gen4 for a little over a year.  Updated to 6.0.2 when we got the phone (iPhone 5) a few days before Christmas.  When I got home on the evening of January 11, my phone would not connect the router anymore.  I was able to get it to connect after resetting the phone and the router, updating the router, and manually connecting.  That laste for a few minutes and then wouldn't work anymore.   I live in an area with very limited service, we have a network extender installed to help, and I am barely getting a 3G signal at times.
My wife's iPad 4, my touchiPod 4, and all of our laptops are working just fine on the router.  When I dropped my kid off at school today, I noticed that I am not even seeing the school network anymore from the parking lot where before I got 3 or 4 bars and could connect to their wifi when I was there.  Today my phone goes back and forth between seeing my home network but not connecting, to not even seeing the network at all even from the same room that the router is in.
Hope Apple fixes this problem soon..............

    Try #5.
    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

    Saw this on another post.
Applecare Senior Advisor Txx Bxxx (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it!   It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss.

  • HT4623 Having updated to ios 6.1.3 I am having problems with wifi has anyone resolved this please?

I updated my iPad retina to ios6.1.3 and it now will only keep me connected to Internet via wifi for a couple of minutes and runs very slowly. Any solutions please?

    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button
