Problems with X-Fi Fatal1ty + Philips 3365

My system: Asus P5K SE
X-Fi Fataty
HT Philips 3365 with digital analog input
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi series Driver 2.8.0008
Using the Creative's FlexiJack on the digital analog input of the Philips system. While testing the channels of my home theater, subwoofer sound are going trough the subwoofer (ok) but also the center channel. And testing the rear channels sound keep always from the frontal channels. When is in use, all 5. channels work but seems that rear duplicate de sound of frontals.

I've solved the problem. The connector cable that came with the Inspire speakers had a kink in the Black and Grey leads. (Amplifier input).Resplicing, soldering and taping the wires have enabled lovely 7.1 surround immersion. Had me worried that I was going to have to test the return policy of the vendor there.

  • Problems with X-Fi Fatal1ty FPS Soundc

    Hi,
At thirst i wanna excuse my bad english.
Now to my problem: I've bought that soundcard on friday, and i've a 2. SoundSystem and a Headset, i've connected the 2. System on the back of my Computer (on the Soundcard), and the Headset on the frontlabel from this Soundcard. So they worked together @ same time. But today i played with my Headset, and everything was ok, but from a second to the other, i didn't hear anything, and i couldn't talk in Teamspeak, cuz the mikrophone wont work too.
I've tried to connect the headset on the Soundcard, and it works!
I've uninstalled the whole Creative software too on my computer, and re-installed it, but the frontlabel don't works.
Can i fix that problem? Or may i have to use my warranty of that card?
I've to fix some things yet: As the problem started, that i didn't hear anything, i've watched the settings of the soundsoftware, and some settings were not avaible longer...like "Line-In 2 /Mik" , which i used for my microphone, after re-install these options wasn't avaible too.
To the re-install: I always used the full-installation, but as i re-installed i couldn't install the "entertainment center", the installation stopped there at 27% ...no error, no failure in Task-Manager..
I've tried to start with the remote maintenance the Multimedia-Software from creative, but it wont start.
Do i really have to change the soundcard with a new one?
    ThX, DmX

    hey Darkman,
since I never had this problem with installing this software, I cant really tell whats wrong, but you dont need it anyway to use the x-fi.
but you may want to try one thing, since it crashes at 27% something may still be in use, so check your task manager and close everything that has CT in its name. then try reinstalling again. If that still doesnt work, try to empty your temp folder, its located in documents and settings/user you are/local settings/temp
if that still doesnt work, try maybe something stupid, wait a bit longer than usual and keep the install window in the front to watch the process, maybe your pc is just a bit slowed down by other software so it may take longer than normal

If you are up for the battle that MIGHT transpire with either one of these cards then your welcome to it. EAX will work on games that nati'vely support EAX and the openAL API. Games that are direct sound only will require the ALchemy program to make them work correctly. You can find a list of openAL nati've games on the openAL site...sorry don't have a link for you right now but google it. You might be able to find the list of Direct SOund games that ALchemy works on by going to the ALchemy site as well.
For the most part, stuff is working but I would highly advise you do more research before purchasing any sound cards from Creative. Just check the forums and look under the Vista posts as well as here to get a taste of the issues many are having.

  • Problem with XFI platinum fatal1ty sound from panel but not from c

    Hi
I just got an XFI platinum fatalty card with front panel, I have only been able to get sound out of the ports on the acctuall card for about 3 minutes then it screetched and went off. Since then the most I can get is an EXTREEMLY quiet (I need to turn up my speakers and the card volume to full) and distorted sound from my center and rear left speaker (5. set). However the wierd thing is when I plug in the headphones into the front panel it works perfectly, the thing is if i switch it back to speakers i have to restert before the headphones will work again.
I have tried to update the drivers but there are no newer ones, I figure I have it seated correctly or I would have no sound from the panel, I just dont know what to do.
its plugged into a Asus Crosshair nForce 590 SLI AM2 Motherboard, I have tried it in 2 different PCI slots and nothing changes, I'm running XP.
Help please, it would be much appreciated, I went through hell to get this card deli'vered and not its not working properly!!!
Any ideas?Message Edited by C4TS on -09-20072:42 AM

  • Problems with X-Fi Fatal1ty XtremeGamer p

Hello,?About a month ago my brother gave me his sound card because he said that sometimes it just quit on his computer and there would be no sound. I know he bought it in early 2007 and he is usually too lazy to return something when it isnt working so I got stuck with it and no hopes of returning it. When I first installed it on to my computer it worked beautifully. The sound was way better than the onboard audio that I was used to. I followed all instructions when installing it and then did a re-boot as it requested. When it started back up it was fine, movies, games, music, whatever I wanted sounded great. The computer was left running for a few days and everything was fine. One night when I got home I shut it down since I wasn't going to use it anymore and in the morning when I restarted it I got a message popping up saying "New Hardware Detected." Just like when I had first installed it. I tried my sound since I knew I had already installed the drivers and everything and I kept getting the message that? The?hardware the program is used with is not installed. So I checked my files and everything was still installed and I checked the card and it was seated properly and everything connected. I reinstalled the drivers and it asked to reboot again. Same problem on startup again "New Hardware Detected" as if i just did nothing. This was getting to be very frustrating... I uninstalled all the software the came with it and then deleted the registries bypening the "run" option on the startup menutype regedit into the run boxopen HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINEthen SOFTWAREand delete creative tech from there. Then reboot. I removed the card when?i shut it down, restarted, shut down again, reinstalled the card, then started again and installed everything again. I?rebooted it to finalize the installation and?everything worked fine again..... until I shut my computer down again.... When I start up afterwards?I get the same?"New Hardware Detected" like everything that just happened was forgotten, yet all the drivers and programs are still there just the hardware?is appearing to be "new" again. And yes I disabled the AC'97 Realtek onboard Audio in the BIOS?I tried moving it to different PCI slots and downloading new drivers but it continues to do the same thing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated since I would hate to junk this nice looking sound card.

  • Problems with X-Fi Fatal1ty Plat & Inspire P7800

Hi there, I recieved my X-Fi Fatalty Platinum Champion and the P7800 Inspire 7.1 speakers today. From the speakers I get. Front Left, Front Right, Center, Rear Right and Subwoofer alright, but no sound at all from either Side or Rear Left. I checked the speakers themselves on the working speaker outputs and all seems good. I'm also getting a signal from each of the Line-Out ports of the S/C. I'm using Win XP Pro with SP2?

  • Too many problems with a tv card (philips saa7134)

Hi, I have a tv card (with fm radio receptor). This Tv Card has no brand (selled by Dekermann) but after much work and search in the web can see video with this settings:

When I saw in /dev/ the existence of /dev/radio, I wanted to make work the radio with gnomeradio but this don't work and LIRC also didn't. And this program don't send any error message.
For LIRC I have loaded lirc_dev lirc_i2c modules, based in the LIRC web information. http://www.lirc.org/html/table.html#@hw-tv-card

  • Handshake problems with Philips HDTV

Hi, Since I updated to 10.9.1 I have handshake problems with my Philips tv. I can only use it for a couple of minutes then it turns green/turquoise and all the colors are mixed up and I have to reconnect the HDMI-cable to get the colors back. I have had the same problem before with mountain lion but then it was solved by doing this:
    1. Download http://www.mediafire.com/?fdz29bgsg3zm653
    2. Unarchive it
    3. In the Finder, go to (using cmd-shift-G) the directory /System/Library/Displays/Overrides/
    4. Place the entire directory you unarchived in step 2 (DisplayVendorID-410c) in the directory /System/Library/Displays/Overrides/
    5. Reboot
Now unfortunately I cannot get it to work by doing the same. Does anyone have the same problem and maybe a solution for it?
    I would be very greatful!
    /Niklas

    Hi,
I can see that I'm not the only one with the same problem. But yesterday I gave the DisplayVendorID-410c one more chance and it has actually worked since that for me. Now I have had it on for maybe 5h in a row without that the screen turning green/turquoise. I don't know why it didn't work earlier maybe I just have been lucky now. But I suggest that you all give it one more chance, maybe it will also start working for you guys. I hope iyou have the same luck as me, because I know how frustrating it is when  things doesn't work!
I repost one more time what I did:
    5. Reboot
    Good Luck!

  • Problem with Fatal1ty X-Fi c

I'm having problems with my sound card. When I play the witcher in the very first act when i'm in the cave fighting, the sound gets fuzzy then goes out, and comes back when i stop fighting. Also in counterstike source when there's lots of action going on the sound gets fuzzy and sometimes goes out also.
Also, when I first installed the drivers on vista the computer would crash whenever i tried to open windows explorer or change any soundcard settings. So now I'm on XP.
I'm wondering if anyone else has the problems.

  • Problem with Fatal1ty X-fi when i using a m

Hello ( i first wanna apologies for my terrible english)
My problem, (many guys have the same problem on audigi platinum and X-Fi Plantium) comes when i?m using the microphone in the front jack.
The microphone is plugged in the front and the sound in the comeputer comes on channel "Line-in 2/Mic 2". To use the microphone i must now change from the standard channel in widows ("Microphone") to the channel that the microphone is on ("Line-in 2/Mic 2"). But when i starting any aplication like skype or cs windows is changing back to the "Microphone" channel...
do any of u guys know how i fix this problem?

The problem you're having is down to the games or applications that try to use the mixer and change to its own default settings. Some applications/game may have workaround for example Skype and CS but forcing a lock on the mixer would not be an ideal solution as this could introduce more problems with other applications that use the mixer, so it may fix one specific problem caused by one game/application, but cause several other problems instead.

  • Report generation toolkit problem with office 2000 and office XP

Hello, I am having a problem with running my vi after it is compiled with application builder. The dev machine is an XP box and the targer is windows 2000. I included _Excel Dynamic VIs.vi and _Word Dynamic VIs.vi from the office 2000 section of the install cd (for the report toolkit) in the compile but did not include those files for XP. When I run the application on the target machine (2000), the reporting functions call Excel just fine and the program does not come up with any errors. The program however, is not loading the approprate template and inserting the approprate data. Did I leave some neccessary files out of the compile? Thanks in advance!

    Hi Acer,
The recommended procedure in your case is to install Microsoft Office 2000 on the development machine and then reinstall the LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit. When the toolkit is installed, it will check for the current version of Office and install the corresponding VIs to support it. The VIs include different ActiveX calls according to the version of Office. Therefore it is not enough to change the support manually without having the correct version of Office installed first.
However, I would recommend that you just try to run your executable on a machine that has Office 2000 installed. The difference in the ActiveX API for Office XP and 2000 is not that significant, so your application might work perfectly on an Office 2000 machine. If you try to run the executable on a machine with Office 97 installed I'm willing to bet my right arm that you will experience errors.
    Good luck Acer!

  • Problems with Windows Vista and Speedster 945GT?

    Hi!
I've been trying to install Windows Vista on my Speedster 945GT-based system for some time now, but I am unable to get it to run stable.
It hangs on random occasions when installing and if one is lucky it's gets thru the install but then it hangs at the desktop in Vista.
I'm using the latest BIOS version out (1.2) and a Core2Duo T7600 CPU.
I have even tried other CPU's to rule out CPU error with the same results. Same goes with different sticks of memory.
Does anyone have a sollution to this problem?
Btw, it works fine when Windows XP is installed.
    Best regards
    Johan

I had similar problems with Vista 32-bit (Ultimate). I got the board with BIOS v1.0, while I also purchased a T7200 Dual 2 Core. This did not work at all. MSI Netherlands was kind enough to flash the BIOS for me with v1.2 so I could get things working. However, I was not too lucky with Vista. Could just get to the boot screen, but then it hung.
BIOS v1.3 did the trick. I have things working now, but the onboard video is a disaster. Windows Update installed new chipset drivers but this did not help. Intel Graphics drivers did also not improve things.
I started with an analog connection to my 1280x1024 Philips 170B2. Worked ok, but could not get the system working in a higher resolution than 1024x768 which is obviously not preferred. At that time, the DVI connector of my monitor was in use by another system, soon to be replaced by this one.
Instead of worrying about the resolution on the analog connection I thought it was time to hook my monitor up via DVI. And then things started to get even worse.
The POST is visible, you can see Windows starting but then there is a black screen. Windows is fully loading, I can hear through the speakers. I can even login, but still no screen.
So I went back to analog VGA and guess what - same issue with analog VGA now!
System works 'fine' in Safe Mode, but even the 640x480 boot option does not help.
My temp solution now is to use my 7600GS, but as the onboard video might be good enough for me (if it works), I would prefer to get things working.

  • Problems with X3 after updating

    Hi,
first, it is possible that I will use some wrong expressions because my phone language is actually German.
Last week I updated my phone from v6.11 to v8.4.
Before, I saved my files to the memory card, afterwards I restored them. It said "Settings reset" and there were the problems I will describe; I tried to restore again, but I could not choose the menu item "programs and games" now.
    So, now
    - all the themes and ringtones are gone
    - the rest of my programs seems to be links named with with file type ".rms" which is "not supported" (All 4,0 MB and named chat_xxx, conv_xxx, isuite_xxx, mynokia_xxx or wocl_xxx), including the calculator which didn't leave a trace.
    - my games are playable 'cause I saved them manually on my memory card - but the ones I added after I bought the phone don't work (message: invalid program. Delete?)
    - I can't download a (special) program from ovi store (which I didn't try before the update, because of that I don't know if it's perhaps a problem of my provider) (message: certificate not on telephone or SIM)
    - when I choose "All photos" it says "no photos to show", but I can open them over "contents -> memory card -> pictures". The camera saves the photos there, too, but it doesn't show them either.
I wonder now if it helps
    - restoring the first backup again, but just "gallery files" and "programs and games" (which is chooseable again now) (this, I think, would not solve the problems with my memory games and the invalid file types of my games)
    - making another backup and do the update again (will the first update then be chooseable again? I don't want to give up my programs, themes and ringtones... Can I restore them from the first backup and the rest from the second?
I would have tried the second possibility if I knew if it is possible... Please answer that, or, if you have a better solution, please give it to me.
    Regards
    Philip

    Hi Philip,
If you still have this issue (and have not tried yet), try to reset your device by selecting Menu > Settings > Restore factory settings > Restore all.
And before restoring your backup check that all preloaded themes and ringing tones are working. Then try restoring apps and games from your backup again.
If some apps/games are not working after restore it's most probably because those are DRM protected and those you would need to reinstall.

  • Scrollbar problem with JTable.

    Hi,
I have 45 columns in a JTable. Please remember this is customize, we can change the number of columns dynamically, at max they can be 2 columns.
i was having a problem with display the columns names in my Frame. I posted at http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5167358&messageID=9641265#9641265
I got the solution. Thanks for that.
But as i said these columns are customized.
when i am having 2 columns in my JTable, table.setAutoResizeMode( JTable.AUTO_RESIZE_OFF ); is behaving differently, it's not occupying the complete JFrame. Lots of space is left out beside these 2 columns.
When i comment this line, then those 2 columns are occupying my complete Frame.
these two colmns should occupy my complete Frame and if i select 45 columns i should get scroll bar at botton with complete column NAMES.
    Hope i am clear.

Thank You camickr, it's serving my purpose.
    Just for a clarrification :
    table.setAutoResizeMode( JTable.AUTO_RESIZE_OFF );
table.setAutoscrolls(false);without using these lines also my purpose is serving.....then y do we need above two lines of code. r they necessary
i mean, this snippet is sufficient.
    public boolean getScrollableTracksViewportWidth()
         return getPreferredSize().width < getParent().getWidth();
    }

  • Problem with DVI native - cable?

I have a Intel Mini and am trying to get it to display on my Philips 20" HDTV. The TV has DVI native input (not HDMI). Here's the situation:
    - Output Mini to S-Video or Composite Video into the S-Video or Composite on the TV works as expected, but the image quality is pretty poor. I understand this is a known limitation - fuzzy text seems to be common.
    - the DVI input socket on the Philips serves double duty for either DVI or analog input. For analog, I can use a DVI-VGA adapter (either the Apple one or a Belkin I have), and hook it up to my IBM laptop via a std. VGA cable and it displays under the "PC" input channel on the TV as expected. If I try to use VGA output from the Mini (this means using the Apple DVI/VGA adapter supplied with the Mini, connected to a VGA cable, and then another VGA/DVI adapter to plug into the TV's DVI port) - I do not get an image. Keep in mind the TV doesn't have a separate VGA port - it specifically uses and accepts VGA/analog input via the DVI port.
    - When I try to use a DVI-D cable from the Mac to the TV, tuning the TV to the "DVI" channel, I get no image.
When I say I don't get an image, I'm not talking about a sync problem. I do not even get a flicker at startup before the video driver loads, and I cannot display anything when booting into single-user mode. This is true with either the VGA method from the Mac described above, or the DVI method.
The DVI cable I am using has 19 pins - 9 + 9 + flat blade. The Apple and Belkin DVI to VGA adapters have 23 pins - 9 + 9 + 4 around the flat blade, and the flat blade itself.
Am I not getting any signal because I do not have those 4 pins around the flat blade? The only other DVI cables I have seen have 25 pins - 24 small pins and the flat blade, but do not have the 4 around the flat blade.
Does anyone have a reference on the pinouts of DVI std? It seems strange to me that I don't even get a flicker at startup (and I've tried both "PC" and "DVI" channels on the TV). This behavior indicates to me that I do not have a problem with sync or timing specs (yet anyway) - as it appears the TV doesn't even receive any type of signal from the Mini.

Technically speaking, a display should not have a DVI-I input. DVI-I was invisioned by its creators to be an output only, so it should only be on a host and not on a monitor or TV. That said, there are some manufacturers that couldn't resist using DVI-I on their displays.
Since both the MBP and the mini have DVI-I outputs, when you hook them to a display with a DVI-I input using a DVI-I cable, there is definitely the possibility for conflict. It looks as though your MBP gives priority to the analog connection and hence reports a VGA monitor whereas your mini appears to prioritize the digital output and is reading a seperate EDID table and reporting the display differently.
I recommend you either try using a DVI-A-to-DVI-A cable or a DVI-D-to-DVI-D cable. This will eliminate any possibility for contention. And based on the results you have had so far, you might want to start with the DVI-A-to-DVI-A cable.
