Problems with X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Pro Series

Hello All-
Recently, my sound has really degraded. I get bursts of choppy audio, some time more persistent than others. If I am playing a game, it will actually cause skipping as if my machine was under heavy load. If I am watching a video, it will actually lag the video where the video is choppy or pauses briefly then catches up. Sometimes this happens when I first start a game or other media application, sometimes it persists where it is pulsing chop like a process is causing load on the applications. Sometimes, this persists as long as the application is open (winamp/pandora, various games, streaming video via winamp/real player, divx etc). I am on the most up to date drivers available through the creative support site (2.8.08 I believe).
I have a 2.6ghz quad core, 4 gig RAM.
Windows Vista x 64
2 x Nvidia 8800 GXTs overclocked to 786m each
Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I Join the club i have had this problem for ages my games will just freeze and then i get this crazy screetching noise i have never been able to fix the problem its creative all over for you crapy drivers i have had enough of creative and wont be bying one of their cards again try it in a different pci slot or try some different drivers if its still in warranty complain to creative get shirty with them and they might rma it if all else fails goods luck rich

No MediaSource Go! with X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro Series?

I recently picked up a new X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Pro Series card; which replaced my older X-Fi Platinum, that sadly stopped working.
Anyway I noticed that, this newer Titanium card came with a newer version of the Creative MediaSource software; called MediaSource 5.
However, it does not include the launching application, MediaSource Go! which is the launcher bar that loads on startup. With my X-Fi Plat, when I hover my mouse over the top edge of my screen the MediaSource Go! launcher bar drops into view and I can just click on the icon of any Creative application that I have on that bar, to launch that application.
I liked that very much.
So I am curious, why is this not included with the newer MediaSource that comes with the X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Pro? I would very much love to have it!

I am having a problem with speaker calibration which strated several months ago after updating some Creative files. Today I uninstalled all Creative apps and driver pack and reinstalled the latest versions. Doing this I lost my Mediasource Go! bar. So I downloaded it and when I tried to install it I got a message saying? I did not have the "minimum" version of MediaSource and that it would now quit. However, when I had Go! before I also had Mediasource5; in fact the Start Menu shortcut for Go! (which is now a broken link since Go was removed) showed it was in the Mediasource5 directory. So why won't Mediasource Go! install with Mediasource5 installed? I thought the "minimum" version of Mediasource required for Go! was 3.00.6.

Same issue. Windows 7 RC, just upgraded from 2 gigs to 4 gigs of RAM and my X-Fi Extreme Gamer Fatalty Pro, crackles, pops, hisses and can't even play audio files for more than 2 [email protected]

Using back SPDIF Motherboards outputs with X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro Series

I have an Asus Rampage Formula that comes with Digital Coaxial and Toslink outputs and a PCI-E sound card, Supreme FX II.
I was able to use both back SPDIF outputs with out any cable, you the card in the PCI-E slot, but I have change my card with a X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Pro Series, no im not able to use any of those outlets, im used the the Coax to my Home theater and the Toslink to me headphones.
Now I can only use the Toslink of the digital output of the X-Fi with my headphones but im not able to use the ports of the mobo to my home theater, is there a way I can use them? the card doesnt have a Coaxial output and thats the problem.
Also, my mobo has 4 pin SPDIF output port, so you can connect something there, but it seems that there are any cable from the output port of the mobo to the audio card....

Actually, support is in the Creative Audio Console (which is part of the driver suite for all Creative sound cards), and is especially true for Windows Vista, as it has been since Windows 2000 Professional. Part of the problem with Windows Vista is that direct hardware access (even for audio) is headed off at the pass, and thus driver support (and application support) needs to be rewritten to realize that. PowerDVD is expecting an interface (that is no longer there).

AProblem X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Fatalty Pro Series Code 0 or 2 error8 Over the past 0 days i've been trying to get this Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatalty ?Card working on my new computer but it seems the?card just doesent want to start work or be detected somehow!
It works on 3 other computers <span class="small">(my friends and my old one wich is a p4 2.4 with a? asrock mobo) and the best i managed it to do was the sound card being installed working for a reboot or 2 and then just start to hiss and then i shutdown the computer and the device manager tells me again that the device could not start etc etc etc... code 0 error blah blah
I have onboard sound disabled (in BIOS), tried every OS there is (XP sp sp2 sp3, Vista 32 sp Vista 64 sp Win7 32 Win7) coupled with every pack of drivers (creative site and non creative site)?there is and fresh installs of OS from xp to vista and win7 with no use.
If someone here can be of some help i would be very gratefull!

E Anyone get to the bottom of this I keep getting the card recognised as a multimedia audio controller in Vista 64.
Nothing I do will get this to work, when I force it to use the driver from the disc/internet or non-creative drivers this device just states could not start code 0.
The card works in my other machine vista 32 bit.

Sound lag with X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro Seri

Hello to you all,
I just built a new computer and the problem I have is that sound lags with WMCE in Vista. My video card is ATI 4850 (52mb) and motherboard is 790gx. The internal sound and integrated video are both disabbled. Any suggestions as to fix the sound lag while watching TV on Media Center? I have no problems with music or games with this. Thanks to all.

Just to confirm that deselecting entries in the "headphone detection" tab the creative audio panel seems to provide a temporary (but not an acceptable permanent) solution.
"Automatically mute speakers" provides the workaround but "automatically enable headphone settings" also needs to be deselected otherwise the PC will set to "headphone" on resume (rather than "5:" for example).
So it could be that on resuming from standby it is setting some internal headphone settings to mute the speakers.
I have created a support ticket hoping that this and the other post above might bring about a driver update.
Will keep testing and post any updates.

Differences between XtremeGamer and XtremeGamer Fatal1ty PRO Seri

I was looking at those two XFi cards and I would like to know if there's another difference appart from the X-RAM and the external connector.

The 'plain' XtremeGamer flexijack has an optical spdif out instead of coaxial, it's not compatible with the I/O module and the jacks are not gold plated. X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Pro Series Pin connections for panel in pc c

Which pins do i need to use to connect up on the soundcard for the mic and speaker socket that is built in on my pc case to work ?
So that i dont have to keep reaching around the back to unplug my speakers and plug in my headphones !
If i have got the speakers already plugged in the back with a microphone, can i, will i be able to just plug the headphones in on the pc cases headphone port and the soundcard disable the speakers automatically ?
Is the a diagram somewhere that shows the pin names or configurations ?

Hi,?What Creative does is hiding information that could be useful to their buyers in hope that buyers ruin their soundcards and run on to buy another, this is the only possible explanation to what they are doing. Just think this: ?Why in the hell they hide this information that could be so helpful and almost risk free and why do they charge a ridiculous price for the X-Fi I/O Dri've?
In my Country (Portugal) a X-Fi ExtremeMusic Costs around 0.00? (around 88 dollars) and the I/O Dri've costs (in Creative?s Site) 04.5. (around 84 dollars), but if you buy the Sound Blaster? X-Fi Platinum (that has all the above and seems that the sound card is better) it only costs around 60? (around 28 dollars). So, if you buy the two first items in separate you?ll pay 24.5. (72.00 dollars) and pay more 54.5. (around 44 dollars) than if you had bought the Platinum.
I really think that they should change the category from accessories to Deluxe Expensi've Options.
The good news to Creative is that I wont buy anymore products from Creative, I?ve stopped to sell the speakers since they launched a series of Cambridge a few years ago with a subwoofer that sound ruined (I bought 30 of them) and never replaced them with a good one, now they do this and I say no more.
Over the last 5 years in the Computer Assembly business I probably sold more that 3.000 products from Creative but my reaction to this attitude from Creative is the last that I can take. I?m not going to buy I/O Dri'ves to every PC that I sell with a Creative Sound Card!!!

Need help getting Fatal1ty Pro Series Gaming Headset Mic to work

greetings.
i am using a Fatal1ty Pro Series Gaming Headset Mic along with an Audigy 2 ZS Notebook card, and i cannot for the life of me get my laptop to recognize audio coming from the mic. the mic switch on the cord is on, and the status light is lit up, and i can even hear my voice from the mic in the headphones, but the audio is not being inputted into the computer. i'm using winxp pro and have played around with all the audio settings in control panel with no luck. any suggestions? i thank you in advance for your time and consideration. take care.

Headsets or microphones with a USB connection cannot be connected to the input connections on a sound card directly. Instead, they must be connected to a USB port on a PC.
They are treated as a separate audio device by Windows. They will be listed as a separate audio device in Device Manager as well as in Windows Multimedia panel. To adjust the volume of the headset or the microphone, use Windows Volume Control.

The question mark means the computer cannot find a bootable volumes so can;t do anything, That, combined with annoying sounds, strongly suggests a failed hard drive.
You can ask a "genius" at an Apple Rtail Store to test it but I'm pretty sure the drive is kaput. I'm hoping you had your data backed up.

Why are there so many problems with the early 2008 Mac Pro ???

Hi everybody out there using Mac Pro's early 2008,
I found out there is a lot of problems with the early 2008 Mac Pro.
My early 2008 Mac Pro has been repaired ones under warranty and now it stopped working again ! Also see under: Mac Pro early 2008 no chime and does not start up. Why is this ????
It worked well for about 2 years and then it just fails and i had this failing issue twice already !!! Is this just a BAD Apple product or how do you think I need to approach this. Let’s face it, these machine don’t come cheap and you at least expect them to work without problems for 4-5 years. What is happening here ???
