Problems with Yahama RX-V667 receiver/HDMI

System is 7232 (1.9/10.95), connected via hdmi to Yamaha RX-V667, which connects to an old Sony WEGA HD tv via hdmi. Some problems:
1) when dvr / tv are turned on together via remote, the dvr shows a Select TV Type SD or HD, every time; this doesn't occur if the tv is turned on, then the dvr after some seconds;
2) when the receiver is turned on and the dvr is the current input (hdmi), the video is sometimes distorted (wavy / staircase edges); if the input is switched to another input and back to the dvr, then the video is ok;
3) on some tv movies, the receiver switches between Dolby Digital and PLIIX (the movie is not shown as 5.1, so it should just remain at stereo or PLIIX [if in dsp cinema mode]).
I previously used a monoprice hdmi switcher and did not notice any problems (old receiver was not hdmi, just optical). I had hoped the new receiver could replace the previous setup (separate hdmi switcher, need for separate optical cables) and support modern codecs (DD Plus mainly for Netflix).
I am trying to determine if the problem is weak hdmi support or defects in the RX-V667 or with the Motorola dvr. I am still in the return window for the receiver, so need to decide if I should return it. I haven't seen similar problems on searching,and most reviews of the receiver are positive (especially for the price; much more $$$ would obviously be better).
Anyone out there with the same receiver and notice similar problems? Do better (eg $$$+++) receivers work better? Which brands, etc.???
Thanks in advance for any advice.

I do not know specifically about your Yamaha receiver, but anytime you daisy chain HDMI there is an opportunity for problems. HDMI has a history of squirrelly behavior, and there are many examples of incompatibilities all over the web. Some receivers have problems with pass-through or otherwise interfere with the HDMI signals. You could try hooking the HDMI directly to the TV, bypassing the Yamaha, and go some audio only connection to the Yamaha. One other thing - go to avsforum.com and look for the owner's thread for your Yamaha receiver and see what other owners of that equipment might be experiencing, and possible solutions. Good luck.

  • Problem with some user accounts receiving email

    We are running Exchange 2003 and having our end users get their email via Outlook Web Access on their Blackberry devices, and are having a problem with just some users. When we go into BIS, we can setup their account just fine, but they never receive any e-mails. They can send e-mails fine also. We have done the following tests:
    1. I have setup my AT&T Curve to check my e-mail, works fine.
    2. I have three users I'm currently using as my "test group" since this problem began. Two using Verizon Storms, and one using a Verizon Bold. All three can send e-mail fine, one of the storm users can check e-mail, but not the other two.
    3. I have setup these accounts on my (known working from test 1) Blackberry Curve, and get the same results. I cannot receive e-mail on either of those two accounts.
    I don't see any errors in any logs (unless I am looking in the wrong place). I've even gone throught adsiedit and compared the msexch* settings and they all seem comperable. Any ideas as to what could be causing this?

  • [SOLVED]Problem with Realtek HDA and ATI HDMI Default card under ALSA

    I have the usual problem about no audio on flash or VLC. I use Realtek HDA as primary sound card but is not detected as the default one. I checked the wikia, and forum post but no fix. After reading some info on a gentoo page, and some in the ALSA wiki I see both of them uses snd_hda_intel, so I cannot blacklist or use "option snd_hda_intel index=0" I've tried also searching on Google, but not luck. • Problems with the miniport display thunderbolt-HDMI

    I have an iMac 3.4 Ghz Intel core i7, the software is Mac OS x 10.6.8 and I have a new TV HD  LG 32" (LG 32LS5600- ZC) with 3 HDMI plugs. When I put the mini Display port in the thunderbolt plug behind the MAC  and in the HDMI port of the LG tv nothing happens... why? I tried to switch on before the TV and after the Mac... the opposite... and to check in Preferenze del sistema to see if the voice rileva monitor worked... nothing. The HDMI cable works because I am able to see the satellite TV perfectly. The mini port display Kanaan is new, bought on Amazon few weeks ago...  The Mac doesn't see the TV monitor which says: nessun segnale whatever I do!
    May you help me?
    Thanks

    Pressing F9 and then clicking on iTunes didn't do anything, but I can close iTunes anyways, that isn't the problem. It is just the seperate video display window that is the prblem . As for the other suggestion I cannot right click, so I definatly cannot right click on the window. However if you know of a way I can get it to normal or even original size with out right clicking, that would be helpful.

  • Mail 2 File scenario - problems with attachments in file receiver

    Hi experts,
    I want to receive PDF documents via email and send them thru file adapter. Now I have some trouble with the attachments. I have configured my mailsender as follows:
    localejbs/AF_Modules/PayloadSwapBean    TRANSFORM
    sap.com/com.sap.aii.adapter.mail.app/XIMailAdapterBean    mail
    Modules:
    TRANSFORM       swap.keyName   Content-Disposition
    TRANSFORM     swap.keyName     Content-Description
    TRANSFORM       swap.keyValue     MailAttachment-1
    TRANSFORM       swap.keyValue     attachment;filename="MailAttachment-1.pdf"
    Now what modules do I have to use in my file receiver when I want to write the PDF-attachment to my directory? I already tried a lot and referred to many blogs but nothing really worked. I only get my header information in the output file.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Problem with File Content Conversion (Receiver FIle Adapter)

    Hi Experts,
    I have following structure in receiver side:
    MT_Test
       F1
       F2
       F3
       F4
    Now I want a CSV file in target side in below format:
    F1,F2,F3,F4
    I have provided below config in receiver file adapter under content conversion tab:
    Recordset Structure : MT_Test
    MT_Test.fieldSeperator= ,
    MT_Test.endSeperator= 'nl'
    But this is generating blank CSV files in target directory..What might be the reason.. I have checked the msg in adapter engine, the XML file is correct and contains valid values for the fields..Its something like below:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    <MT_Test>
       <F1>Hai</F1>
       <F2>Hello</F2>
       <F3>Bye</F3>
       <F4>Hi</F4>
    </MT_Test>
    I should get CSV file as
    Hai,Hello,Bye,Hi
    But I am getting a blank file with above said config parameters in content conversion tab.
    What might be the reason for getting blank CSV files in target side???
    Thanks,
    Adi

    Hi Adi,
    >>My target structure in below format:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    - <MT_Test>
    <F1>Hai</F1>
    <F2>Hello</F2>
    <F3>Bye</F3>
    <F4>Hi</F4>
    </MT_Test>
    So, try to edit Data type and include hierarchy level above <F1>.
    Finally your Target Structure will resembles like this.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    - <MT_Test>
    <Structure>
    <F1>Hai</F1>
    <F2>Hello</F2>
    <F3>Bye</F3>
    <F4>Hi</F4>
    </Structure>
    </MT_Test>
    FCC Parameters will be like this.
    Structure.fieldSeparator = ,
    Structure.endSeparator = 'nl'
    Hope you were clear.
    Thanks,
    Siva.

  • Big problem with put the same received dataSource on two different panels

    Hello All!
    I have a big problem, but first what have I done:
    I am writting application that is based on AVReceiver2 and AVTransmit2 from Sun help.
    I have modified AVReceiver2 to only receive one stream - video stream.

    - when user change tab, I change vievport from one panel to another. This works gr8, but I need to record some received video on the same time when user watch it.
    I find some code to record - this works on single machine, but now, when I have cloned dataSource I supposed to be able to record received video, but guess what: it doesn't work.
    Code of recording part:
               DataSource ds2; // I cloned this the same as I posted earlier
                PushBufferStream pbs;
         Vector camImgSize = new Vector();
         Vector camCapDevice = new Vector();
         Vector camCapFormat = new Vector();
         int camFPS;
         int camImgSel;
         Processor processor = null;
         DataSink datasink = null;
        public void record()
            fetchDeviceFormats();
              camImgSel=0;     // first format, or otherwise as desired
              camFPS = 30;     // framerate
              // Setup data source
              fetchDeviceDataSource();
              createPBDSource();
              createProcessor(ds2); // i'm using cloned datasource
              startCapture();
              try{Thread.sleep(20000);}catch(Exception e){}     // 20 seconds
              stopCapture();
         boolean fetchDeviceFormats()

                   // search for video device
                   deviceInfo = (CaptureDeviceInfo)deviceList.elementAt(i);
                   if(deviceInfo.getName().indexOf("vfw:")<0)continue;
                   Format deviceFormat[] = deviceInfo.getFormats();
                   for (int f=0;f<deviceFormat.length;f++)
                        if(deviceFormat[f] instanceof RGBFormat)type="RGB";
                        if(deviceFormat[f] instanceof YUVFormat)type="YUV";
                        if(deviceFormat[f] instanceof JPEGFormat)type="JPG";
                        Dimension size = ((VideoFormat)deviceFormat[f]).getSize();

         }I run method record() from gui, after I received stream.
    IMPORTANT:

  • TS3406 Problem with iPhone 5 making/receiving random calls ("butt dials")

    My wife and I have iPhone 5's.  Since last Friday, my phone has made and received random phone calls ("butt dials") including FaceTime calls.  My wife's phone has even called itself.  The only common denominator is that the person making the random call has an iPhone.
    My phone and my wife's phone have the latest software (7.1.2) and we had the batteries changed under warranty through Apple last Friday.  Any ideas?

    Hi becausewemust,
    It sounds like you have sound issues with your iPhone only when using it as a phone, not at other times, is that correct? And you have already tried resetting the phone by turning it off and on. A very frustrating situation to be sure. Let’s see if we can get you up and running.
    At this point I would suggest restoring the iPhone as a new device. See the steps in this article -

  • Problems with signal when I receive a new yahoo-ma...

    hi - my phone is a nokia 5230
    I still receive a signal 24/7 when I get a new mail from my yahoo-account even though my settings in "Usersettings" for email is tagged "NO"?
    In "Usersettings" for sms I have tagged "Receive report" as I dont know how to set the phone back to the more the precise terms: "Receive Signal" or not when I am receiving an sms -
    Suddenly one day this option "Receive report" was my only option without me having changed anything...and the email settings used to be okay too earlier?
    I have switched the phone down and opened it again but it doesnt help?
    As I dont have nothing important on my phone I consider to reset to Factory settings but here is my only worry to install the free Ovimap again as it became a problem last I tried and the phone ended up being repared.
    Yours Per

    Hi jclark735,
    Do you have sound in videos and other sites? Is it only Facebook that you don't get sound? You might have accidentally muted audio for Firefox. The article Knowledge Base article [[No sound in Firefox]] will show you how to check.
    Hopefully this helps!

  • Problem with File receiver

    Hi, I have the following scenario, File->XI->File and
    I have a problem with the File adapter (receiver). I can't generate it.
    I was reading blog: File-Xi-File scenario donu00B4t work.
    SXMB_MONI shows the message correctly but the receiver file is not generated.
    Somebody can help me?
    Thanks in advanced
    Regards,
    Sergio.

    Hi Sergio,
    I would suggest that you go through this blog for the entire File to File scenario and cross check this with the cofiguration done by you.

    Also, do check these links for configuring your sender and receiver file adapters.
