Problems with Zyxel P660H-D1 router

I had Problems to log my iPad 4 into Internet with my router, a Zyxel P660H-D1.
I called to my phone company and explained them my problems.
They entered into the router and changed sever al things:
  - the name of the router (now it's written without spaces between words)
  - "WEP" encriptation
  - channel frequency (from 9 to 11).
Now it works perfectly.
I hope this discussion can help someone else. :-)

So when you turn off your computer and turn it on, after that your computer is not able to go online wirelessly. As you have already Disable the DHCP on your router, So this means when you turn on your computer, your computer is unable to communicate with your DHCP server and is unable to get the IP address.
So what i would suggest your is As your Zyxel router IP is 192.168.1.2, So you can connect the LAN cable from Zyxel router to Linksys router on Internet Port and connect your computer to Linksys router Port no.1. Login to your Linksys router setup page, Turn On the DHCP on your linksys router and change the LAN IP : 192.168.2.1 and click on Save Settings. Once the settings are sucessfull, just you need to power cycle your network and after this all your computers will be able to go online. And i think after this your problem will be solved.

I am having problems with connecting to my router wirelessly.  How do I determine my access point's network key?

Follow this from a computer already connected: 1. Open setup page of router by typing http://192.168.1.1 in browser’s address bar, and typing password as "admin" and no user name. Use your password if you have changed it earlier. 2. Go to wireless tab. 3. Go to wireless security sub-tab. 4. If security mode is wpa or wpa2 note down pass phrase/shared key, if security mode is WEP note down wep key number 1. This will be your network key.

  • Problems with accessing Internet through router (permanent IP)

    Hi.
I changed hostname with sys-unconfig. Now computer has permanent IP address (non DHCP) and right hostname.
Before this change I had access to Internet (hostname: "unknown" and DHCP).
My computers access Internet through router.
There is ping from my computer to router and another computer. Also other computer pings my computer.
In DHCP tables my computer does not exist.
I created file /etc/defaultrouter with IP of my router.
Trying to access Internet, web browser (Mozilla) writes: "<site.com> could not be found. Please check name and try afain."
I think there is a problem with DNS.
How to configure my computer on Solaris 10 to access the Internet with current configuration?
    Thank you.

To test DNS services without a browser (ie, to see if the
system can be a DNS client), first use the command
    'nslookup'
    # /usr/sbin/nslookup sun.com
    Server: miki-class-gla.eclecticgroup.co.uk
    Address: 10.23.0.1
    Non-authoritative answer:
    Name: sun.com
    Address: 72.5.124.61
    # /usr/sbin/nslookup google.com
    Server: miki-class-gla.eclecticgroup.co.uk
    Address: 10.23.0.1
    Non-authoritative answer:
    Name: google.com
    Addresses: 64.233.167.99, 64.233.187.99, 72.14.207.99
If this doesn't work, then your system isn't talking to a
DNS server at all at all, so you need to check the contents
    of /etc/resolv.conf.
If it does work, use the command 'getent' to check that your
system as a whole is querying DNS for name-IP resolution.
    EG.
    # getent hosts sun.com
    72.5.124.61 sun.com
    # getent hosts google.com
    64.233.187.99 google.com
    72.14.207.99 google.com
    64.233.167.99 google.com
If you don't get back IP addresses, your system isn't
correctly configured as a DNS client.
Look at /etc/nsswitch.conf, and find the line
    that starts 'hosts'.
    If it says
    hosts files
then the system is not a DNS client.
To correct this, edit that line to add the word dns on the end:
    hosts files dns
That's it. No need to reboot.

I bought the Linksys WRT400N Dual Band Router in January 2010, and had nothing but problems with it keeping renewing the IP Address for the internet. I have Road Runner High Speed Cable Internet, and they can’t help me with this support, I tried to call Linksys about 5 times and they are no real help, all I get is pay by credit card after talking to someone for a few minutes.
The problem is I can’t connect to the internet but can only connect to my Network Printer or Home Network. It won’t renew the IP Address for the internet until I reboot the router. I had this problem Connecting it Wired and Wirelessly I have a Linksys WUSB600N version 2 Wireless Adapter.

  • Problem with Cisco 3250 mobile router WMIC configuration

I have two 3250 mobile routers, and each one has 2 WMICs, 1 MARC and 1 4-port FEMIC. WIC1 seems to be the AP since its FE port connects to the FE0/0 or MARC, and WIC2 seems to be the bridge since its FE0 connects to FEMIC's FE2/3. The IOS version of router is 12.4(2)T3, and IOS version of both WMIC is 12.2(15).
I configured two routers in the following way (similar configuration as the police car example in the 3200 router software configuration guide):
    1. Router1's WIC2 (bridge) acts as WGB, and router2's WIC2 (bridge) acts as root bridge.
    2. Router2 is the DHCP server also.
    3. WIC1 of each router is configured as root AP.
During my testing, the following scenarios happened:
    1. WIC2 of both router can successfully associated.
    2. Wired client can get IP address from router2 when it is pluged into either router's FE ports.
    3. Wirless client can associate with the bridge connection, i.e. connected to the wirless bridge connection. (Weired! Can bridge work as a AP?)
    4. Wireless client can't stably associate with WIC1 of either router, which is supposed to work as AP. A lot of authentication and deauthentication messages are flushing in the console. IP address can be leased, however, Ping was not successful.
    My question is:
    1. Why did this kind of problem happen?
    2. How should i configure each WIC to achieve the set up of wireless client associate with AP and routers communicate through bridge?
    3. Is my understanding on 3200 router wrong?
    Thanks a lot for reply!

  • Backup problem with Time Capsule over Router

    Hello fellas,
I am facing a back up problem with my TC(2TB) with Time machine. When I try to back up it gets stuck at "preparing backup". However when i directly connect to it via its own wifi, everything works like a charm. I even erased older back ups and created a new one. When I, however, switch back to the router setting (TC connected to a Router and me connecting over wifi) I still do see the erased backup on the right side. When I try accessing them, I get a black window where I should be seen a mirror of the desktop. I can manually (over Finder) add and erase files in the TC. The TC does pick IP and is active.
I did verify and repair the TC.(Permission tab was grey)
    OS 10.9.5
    TC version: 7.7.3
Hope you guys can help me.

Mavericks has a lot of issues with networking.. And it effects TM and the TC more than most things.
Apple finally fessed up there was some issues.
OS X Mavericks: Time Machine problems
Let me recommend you follow exactly the same list as in this thread.
I just updated Safari 7.1 and OS X Mavericks 10.9.5 now my Time Machine is not backing up and I don't know how to fix it.
In your situation there is a couple of other things to add.
Make sure IPv6 is set to link-local only.
I am not sure how your router is handling ipv6 or bonjour for that matter.. both are necessary to have TM work.
    If that doesn't solve it..
Use Finder to force the connection to the TC to AFP protocol.
From top menu, Go, Connect to Server.
Type AFP://TCgenx.local (where you replace TCgenx with your nice new short name). local is the default domain in the TC and it can help to specify as your router is probably using a different domain.
Even better is to use the TC IP address.. but it has to be static.. so you will need to set it by dhcp reservation in the main router.
AFP://192.168.0.100 (replace with the actual TC IP you can get it from the summary screen in airport utility but must be static).
If you still have issues post back more details.
What router are you using make and model?
If it is not apple compatible it may simply never work.. some routers do not handle specific apple protocols like airplay or bonjour and this affects how it works with TM.

  • Persistent problems with Linksys WRT54GS Wireless Router

I'm currently running Vista with a Linksys WRT54GS router. As earlier discussed in this forum I am still having intermittent problems with the ATV taking down my network. Anyone else experienced this and come up with a sure fire fix?
When it's working I like the set up but I have to say, it is not nearly stable enough to be an everyday solution for getting my music and photos to my living room.
    Thanks.

Hi, I am having the same problem -- my 2WIRE modem from AT&T recently blew up. So, I purchased the WRT54GS. As soon as I reconnected the AppleTV to the new router via a wireless connection, all of my machines (Mac and PC) lost their internet connections. I'm seriously considering going out and getting another 2WIRE.

  • Problem with cisco series 800 router and SMTP

    Hello,
we bought a 877 cisco router and have some problem with SMTP.
I try to read all forum and KB about but do not find any solution.
the problem is that when i try to send any email from client (windows mail) i receive a error 533: you need to supply the correct username and password.
when trying throught hmailserver i receive an email "undeliverable" with this error in body:
    Error Type: SMTP
Remote server (62.149.128.202) issued an error.
    hMailServer sent: EHLO Globalnet
Remote server replied: 502 unimplemented (#5.5.1)
    receving email work correctly.
i'm already using smtp auth, and with my old router everything work fine.
so i beleive is a config problem, maybe with ESMTP (ehlo)?.
    i attach my config:

    Dear sirs
Thank you for answer so quickly
I download this document from Cisco “Configuring the (Remote) Common Application Programming Interface for Cisco 800 Series Router”.
I have a Lan with Asterisk IP-PBX , the Cisco router have a BRI to public exchange (ISDN) , the router act like a DCP (ISDN- Device Control Protocol) server and listen (DCP messages) in 2578 port.
I need o know the contents of the TCP frame that carry (ISDN-TCP, the DCP messages) to put a SIP client to talk with PSTN/ISDN using the router. I want to write a software module in Asterisk that translate SIP in (ISDN-DCP) to connect the SIP Phones to the PSTN/ISDN using the BRI ports of the Cisco router. I need to now the contents of this message to dialogue with RCAPI server of the router.
If forum is the right place perhaps to put this, Could you give me a better place, a mail or other forum to receive the speciation of (ISDN-DCP)
    thank you

  • Config Time Capsule with ZyXEL DSL modem/router

    Hello everyone,
I have been beating my head about this for the last week or so and it had drove me to drink (Really short drive by the way). I have CenturyLink DSL Service with a modem that they provided (ZyXEL PK5000Z), this is a modem/Wi-Fi router. What I am trying to do is have my Time Calsule be the Wi-Fi router so my AirPort Express can extend the network and do what it does to get my devices connected. When ever I have my Time Capsule connected to the modem, it will drop the internet connection within 10 min to 30 min, but when I have the modem wired to my Mac it stays connected for days. I have tried many different configs and putting the Time Capsule in "Bridged" mode with the ethernet cable in both the internet port and LAN port... same problem. If anyone could please help me get this setup, that would be amazing... plus this would save me from having to call the CenturyLink Tech Support line.
    Thanks,
    James

Strange things happen.. the TC should be fine bridged to the Zyxel.. as long as you turn off wireless in the Zyxel and only use wireless in the TC.. you must create the wireless network.. not join a network.. people try to do both at the same time and end up in a mess.
Then you can check the extend wireless network in the TC and airport should be able to extend it.
But I would also add the following.
Fix radio channels.. if you have difficulties the less auto the better.
Use SMB names ie short, no spaces, pure alphanumeric for everything but particularly wireless.
And use a different name for 5ghz.
    Use only WPA2 Personal security.
If you lay off the grog for a bit it helps keep the mind clear.. to think through the things.. although I do understand the frustration.
Let me suggest you post all the setup screen shots and that can help us loads to figure out if you are making a mistake.

  • Problems with Airport Express in Router mode

    Hi all!
I have an Airport Express and a PC home network (WinXP, Win2k and one Powebook). I have Itunes turned off and updated the firmware to 6.3. My Test PC is updated with all the latest updates. All of the Computers have Wifi G cards and are switched to Windows XP zero config wireless.
I tried to configure the AP express both with the config wizard and the manual Airport admin utility on several computers. I have it configured to 128bit WEP security.
I have no proxies or anything of that kind. Also tried disabling all firewall software.
I have a DSL connection with Aztec DSL600E Modem which was previously configured as a fixed line router (its not wireless).
I spent days at it but could not get the AP to replace the modem as router. The modem is configured to use PPPOE/PPPOA (tried both).
When I configure the modem to stop being a router (I think this is done by selecting its "Server and Relay Off"
option (it has either Server on, Realy on, or the above) in the Modem's DHCP configuration screen.
Well when I do this, and configure the AP to distribute IP addresses (share a single IP) and "connect using PPPOE" connection, its light goes green but none of the computers can browse the internet, it just goes to "page not found" after a while. The PC's also then report a conflict in IP address.
On the other hand, if I restore the modem to act as router, configure the AP as a Wifi bridge-to use Ethernet and not to distribute IP's, internet does work but slower than normal. (Not bandwidth, its the DNS lookup that slows things down I think, whenever trying to go to a new web address it takes several seconds to look it up before it says "web page found" on the bottom of the IE browser). If I disconnect the Wifi and connect one of the clients directly to the DSL modem, the DNS lookup takes seconds.
I tried clearing the Cache, resetting the AP, doing IPconfig /release and /flushdns etc.
Internet speed tests like DSL Speed test report latencies of 800ms sometimes.
So i'm thinking that there is some conflict in the DNS or DHCP between the modem/router and the AP.
What is better? leave it as is or try to get the AP to act as router and the modem as only a modem?
All of my clients are set up to have automatic TCPIP configuration with DHCP.
    Also I wanted to ask:
    1) What does "domain name" and "DHCP client id" in the AP Admin utility / internet tab?
My modem config screen has a "Management IP" section with:
    IP Address: 10.0.0.138
    Netmask: 255.0.0.0
    Default Gateway:xxxx
    Hostname: xxxxx
    Domain Name: xxxx
Are the last two the same as the AP refers to as domain name as DHCP client ID?
and why do I need a domain for just a home network?
and why are the last two fields full in the modem screen if I don't have a domain?
    2) From what I remember of routers, they should have some place of configuring the peer to peer network name (workgroup) is that what they mean by "hostname" or "domain name"?
The problem is that this Aztec model has no online manual. And the other models Aztec manuals don't go to such advanced details. And my ISP doesn't give support for sharing with routers (it is allowed but not supported). They will just say buy our monthly plan with WIFI etc.
I would like to share files as well as internet access.
    3) What does the "Enable default host" option mean in the AP config network tab?
    4) What does the "Relay on" field mean in the Modem/router DHCPConfig screen?
    5) How do I ensure there is no conflict between the AP and modem/router, and that they use the most efficient method for looking up DNS's?
Attached are links to screenshots of my configurations.
    http://new.photos.yahoo.com/nebula3012/album/576460762403680970
(double click the pics to open them).
It seems so complicated, a few years ago I set a 3COM Wifi router in a PC environment (Cable Internet) and was working within hours.
by the way in the AP config summary it all looks normal except the "LAN MAC Address" which is empty.
Thank you for your help... ** really..

nebula3012, Welcome to the discussion area!
    1) What does "domain name" and "DHCP client id" in the AP Admin utility / internet tab?
If those items are needed, your ISP will provide them to you.
    2) From what I remember of routers, they should have some place of configuring the peer to peer network name (workgroup) is that what they mean by "hostname" or "domain name"?
    No
    3) What does the "Enable default host" option mean in the AP config network tab?
It allows you to configure a device as a server. All of the ports of that device will be directly addressable from the internet.
    5) How do I ensure there is no conflict between the AP and modem/router, and that they use the most efficient method for looking up DNS's?
You worry too much. There is nothing special to do.

  • Still having some problems with my WRT300N v2 router....

For 6 years or so I have been using a Linksys router and been quite happy with it. As such, it was "natural" for me to look for another. Especially since I have seen the user interface of several of routers for port forwarding, and other settings vital to a good solid gaming connection.
When I first setup the router the firmware was it's default (v2.08) and that is just buggy imho, for anyone connecting more than one computer. The biggest hassle was that the wireless connections could not connect to any of the other computers in the LAN. Although they did, after a long wait, get a DHCP address from my separate DHCP server. FORTUNATELY, the new firmware (v2.17) resolved most, if not all of my local connectivity problems.
I still have one major problem though. This is the IP renewal of the WAN address. My ISP wants that updated every 30 to 60 minutes, so the renewal period is 3600 seconds, or 1 hour. What I recall from the RFC on DHCP is that a client is expected to send renewal requests long before the IP address assignment reaches it expiration "moment". If I remember correctly, this is the time interval T2 (T1 being expiration), and by default T2 == T1 * 0.75.
In other words, all DHCP clients (in this case the WAN side of the router) should be requesting a renewal/refresh of the DHCP address at 75% of the lease period - in my case at 45 minutes. After watching closely for the last 4 hours, I see my game clients lose connection on all my computers, and I see the DHCP renewal take place.
Could someone from Linksys verify when the first requests for renewal get sent out? This is instant death in a MORPH if you are trying to do pvp. Absolutely unworkable.
Thank you for your attention and support.
    Michael aka rootvg.

Well, after a couple more application crashes on the hour, I swapped my old befw11s4 router in and watched the way it does IP renewal of the WAN IP addresses. Shortly after it reaches the halfway mark, the lease gets renewed.
Anyone notice this behavior with their WRTS300N? No update on DHCP lease til after expiration?

  • Serious problem with MSI RG54SE WiFi Router

    Hello to all,
Since i bought MSI RG54SE WiFi Router yesterday after configuring the network i've downloaded the latest FirmWare (v1.2.8 G) Right after this the router changed the name of the network and now i can do nothing to use the wireless network. LAN works, but as soon as i try to make some changes to the settings of the router (using the 192.168.1.254 address in my browser) it kkeeps giving me this error:
    " ASP Error
    if(getIndex("pingWanAccess")) write ("checked"); "
This error appears in the IP Settings section right next to the "WAN Echo Reply:" option.
Because of this error the save button does not appear at all and it seems that i can't do nothing to change it. :(
Now i don't have WiFi at all and i have the router for 1 day only :(
Please help me to solve this problem.
P.S. Note that I've tried too find the older firmware in order to install it but i can't find it nowhere. Also i tried to reset the settings to Factory Defaults but this doesn't work also.
thanks in advance for your support.
    George

STU thank you for this advice... actually yesterday i tried to send my question, but nothing happened. Now i tried once more and i succeeded!
I will keep you up to date with the development of this problem. I hope it will help others too.
Meanwhile i would like to ask if you know of any available drivers for MAC G5 OSX 10.4.10 so that i will be ableto use the usb stick which comes together with the router. So far i was unable to install it and the MAC does not recognize it at all.
    Thanks again

  • Airport Extreme Base station wireless setup problem with Zyxel 2602HW d1a

    Hi!
Just bought a new Airport Extreme Base Station and it just doesn't work. Probably my fault, your help is very welcome!
My router Zyxel 2602HW D1A is the main router/modem. I can only connect to it wirelessly with my AEBS (so not via Ethernet/WAN). But, it doesn't seem to connect to this Zyxel in the wireless way. After I setup the AEBS to connect with this network I have to reset it to factory settings. Is it possible to connect only via wifi? Is it possible to this Zyxel? How can I setup the Zyxel to have everything ok to be ready for communication?
Firmware is up to date btw.
    Thanks!
    Bjorn

    Hi Tesserax,
Thanks for replying. I would like to share USB attached printers and hard drives just with my 'own network' attached to the AEBSn. The other network I use just for the internet connection. Preferably the other network can't access my AEBSn network.
Am I clear? I am not sure

  • Internet problems with an RV-082 Router and Swann DVR connected.

I have a problem from the twilight zone.  When my Swann DVR (CONVR-B163MP) is NOT connected I can access the internet without any problems.  When the Swann DVR is connected, I lose access to Google and secure "Log-in" webpages.  It is as if there is a firewall blocking them.  I can access most normal websites without any problems.  Once the problem occurs, I need to reboot the router in order to gain clear access again.  Just unplugging the DVR will not fix it.
I have a resolution by connecting an older router directly to the WAN, then linking that router to the Cisco RV-082.  I have access controlled by MAC codes and took off the DVR to prevent it from getting access to the Cisco RV-082.  The DVR is connected to  the older router to get to the internet.
It is just a strange problem.
The Swann DVR is working through the internet to provide a live video feed to my phone.
If anyone knows an answer I would be glad to hear it.
