ProBook 4330s integrated microphone not working on Windows XP

Hi there, everyone!
I've recently stumbled on a problem after installing Windows XP on a second partition on my ProBook 4330s. I went into the drivers page for my computer to find the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC in order to get some sound from the computer. After installed the speaker works perfect, but I can't use the integrated microphone on the computer. I've tested to plug in an USB mic, to check what happens, and then it counts as the IDT mic works even though it's the USB mic that is the one which works (I don't have to select the Logitech mic in Skype, for example, in order to make it work). On my Windows 7 and Kubuntu partitions the mic works fantastic however. But since the drivers come pre-installed for my Windows 7, and the drivers are automatically detected in Kubuntu, I have no idea what I should do to make the microphone work. If anyone knows what I have to do it would be greatly appreaciated if you could share.

I am facing the problem related to internal microphone on same laptop. My Operating system is Windows 7. I tried solve the issue with sound and now ended up in having continuous hissing sound from speakers. I am not sure what to do now. The hissing sound stops when I mute the speakers..
and my internal microphone still doesnt work..
Can someone please help.

Download Audio driver from here.
Intructions how to install it in Vista/Win7.
Extract this driver with Winrar.
Open Device manager and expand the Sound, video and game controllers section.
Right click on Either the High Definition Audio Device if you have the generic Microsoft drivers, or the Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221 if you have older Conexant drivers and choose "Update Driver Software..."
Click Browse my computer for driver software, then click "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
Click "Have Disk..." then Browse to the folder where the drivers were extracted .......\V64 for 64-bit Vista/Win7. Click OK.
Select one of the "Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221" models in the list, there will be multiple identical entries.
Click Next, and you're done.
I'm not sure which one from the list will work for You.
This drivers weren't test. So if You will try them and it will work for You let us now about.

Try reinstalling the Webcam software. The software is located at the Software & drivers section of the web support portal for your notebook. There are two software packages available.

Dv6648se microphone not working with windows 7

The hard drive died on my laptop this week so I got a new one installed, plus Windows 7. Now my microphone does not work. The mic is my lifeline to keep in touch with my family while I'm overseas. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Hurry...I'm running out of wine.

this is a KNOWN problem with the HP G60 series. Yours is a different model, but from what I ma seeing in this forum - I am beginning to wonder if the sound problenms aren't more widespread.

Microphone not working since Windows 7 clean install: Satellite P505-S8980

Ever since I reinstalled Windows 7 on my Satellite P505-S8980 laptop the microphone with the webcam has not worked. Has anyone else experienced this and resolved it? I am unable to chat with friends and family through Google hangouts, which is a little disappointing.
I've unsinstalled and reinstalled the drivers, checked all settings, tried to find updated drivers, etc., but with no luck.
Any help is appreciated.
Possibly helpful info:
Model P505-S8980
No modifications to hardware (original hard drive, etc.)
Running Windows 7 64 bit. Clean install, NOT from Toshiba restore disk or similar utility.

Satellite P505-S8980
The order of installing drivers is problematic. Best to restore the hard disk to the original out-of-the-box contents using Toshiba recovery media. All the drivers and utilities are properly preinstalled. Windows is preactivated.
If you failed to burn recovery discs, you can obtain them from Toshiba. Scroll down to Get Recovery Media here
For instructions, see the section Restoring from recovery media, which begins on p. 71 of the User's Guide.

Why do my Apple Earpod Microphones not work with Windows 7?

My laptop has 3 ports (Microphone, and 2 headphone ports), and I've got a VERY bad external mic, that I might be giving to someone else, because I have Earpods. The only thing is, the Earpods don't have a microphone cable as well as a headphone cable, and the Earpod microphone doesn't work with Windows 7! Can anyone give me the drivers for it or something? I really love the quality of these headphones and it also means I don't have to lean towards my microphone (my desk won't allow me to move the mic any closer to me). Any help is greatly appreciated.

Have you tried a hard reset of your iPad by holding down the Home button and sleep button together until your iPad goes black and the Apple logo reappears, then let the buttons go?

No sound and microphone not working on windows 10

Hey, Since i switched to windows 10 my microphone stoped working, also i cant hear my caller. Sometimes if i play in settting and change microphone for mix source i can hear others. In other applications like windows sound recorder or razer comms everthing works just great. Should i try some older version of skype or what can i do? alredy resinalled my audio drivers. Im using laptop build in microphone.

Microphone not working in Windows 7 - Thinkpad X22 2662 95G

Hello there,
After experiencing dropping network connections under Windows XP I've upgraded to Windows 7. The laptop is running nicely, and everything is working (including audio), except the microphone. This is a little frustrating as I use Skype for work.
When I look the recording devices, the microphone is listed as currently unavailable:
No devices appear to be disabled in the device manager:
When I first installed Windows 7, it was a bit of a struggle getting some programs up and running. Audio was an issue, and I believe the drivers came down via Windows update (although I also tried installing the ones from the Lenovo website so I'm not sure now which actually worked).
I'm at a loss for what else to do, except go back to Windows XP - but I'm reluctant to do this as Windows 7 is working a lot better than I expected and fixed the previous problem with wireless networking via different PCMCIA cards. Any thoughts as to what else I can try?

hey moonklash,
welcome to the forums.
via device manager, uninstall the audio driver. this will then make windows install its own generic driver.
once generic driver has been installed, test your mic and see if it works.
if it does and the audio is fine, you can leave it as it is or you could head over to http://support.lenovo.com and install the audio driver that is available here.

Internal microphone not working with Windows 7 RC on dv9000 (Dv9817cl)

Hi, I recently installed Windows 7 RC (64bit) on my HP dv9000 (DV9817cl) and everything seems to work apart from the internal microphones.
In the Sounds section of the hardware and sound section of control panel there is only one recording device shown "Microphone, High definition audio device, not plugged in". I take it this is the 3.5mm microphone port on the front of the notebook. There is only one driver issue showing in device manager for "Other devices>coprocessor".
The current audio driver is High Definition Audio Device microsoft v6.1.7100.0. I've tried looking for updated drivers ion the web with no luck so far.
Does anyone know where I could get an updated driver or have any suggestions to get this going?

Mute Unmute microphone not working in windows 8

Hi,
I am working on video streaming application for Windows 8 and facing some problem when trying to mute microphone and unmute microphone.
I am trying to mute the microphone with changing the mic.gain value to 0 and unmuting the same by changing the gain value with its default value i.e. 50, but its not audible when unmuting. and after unmuting when tried with opening the flash player settings panel and doing little change in echo settings there then it starts working fine. So each time I have to do changes in settings panel after unmute. activity level in that case also goes to 0. Please help with the problem.

HP Probook 4440s WIFI Drivers Not Working After Windows 10 Update

I updated my Hp ProBook 4440s from windows 7 32 bit to Windows 10 32 bit, everything is working except for my WiFi it says 'Windows did not detect any networking hardware' Can you please provide me with the compatible wifi drivers for Windows 10 Pro 32 bit. I hope you can help

Hi: I guess what I meant to say is that you may want to play around with some of the advanced settings for the card in the device manager. It seems that reading the article you posted, that procedure may have been for folks that have Cisco software to allow for Virtual Private Networking (VPN) and I don't think the drivers you have include any Cisco extensions. You can see if there is Cisco networking software by going to the Programs menu in the control panel and see the list of programs installed. There are usually 2-3 Cisco networking software items listed if you do. Sometimes tweaking those advanced settings help. Set Roam tendency to conservative. Roam decision to optimize distance. I had to change some setting on an old Intel 5300 wireless card to allow it to connect in W10. X220 microphone not working after Windows 10

First of all, so far as I know, my upgrade to Windows 10 worked very well and I really like the new OS. The only problem I'm having is that my mic won't work. It shows it as being installed and functioning properly but I can't utilize it anywhere in the system. The driver is the Contexant 20672 SmartAudio HD. When I go to "Set up a microphone" is says "The wizard could not start. Make sure your hardware is working properly and check your audio configuration in the Audio Devices and Sound Themes control panel." My mic is enabled and the volume is up. Any ideas?

While there is an issue with Conexant drivers for win10, probably the fasets way is to use Dolby Home Theatre 4 application. It supports Conexant audio chip and works w/o manufacturer drivers.
DHT could be found on the Lenovo support site since a lot of laptops supports has that app preloaded. Also, there are threads on the forum about DHT and presets for certain laptop models and audio chip. Note, I don't know anything whether DHT supports win10.
