Probook 4445s hangs in 8.1..need Windows 8 oem

.. I have recently upgraded to windows 8.1 .. Because my colleague told me its a wonderful update... After installing the 8.1 update.. my computer hangs every 2-5 minutes , you can still move the mouse cursor but everything is frozen, it will resume after 20-30 seconds. Everything was fine when i am just using WINDOWS 8, this happened all after installling the 8.1 update.. i guess its a video driver problem..BTW I have installed all the HP drivers for 8.1.. Can I ask for a soft copy of windows 8 oem for my laptop or a download site to revert this back to windows 8? any solution?
I am using a PROBOOK 4445S , AMD A8 4gb ram

I am sorry to hear you had issues with the Windows 8.1 update. You can easily restore your system back to Windows 8 by using the Microsoft System Restore. I am providing you with an HP Support document here that will provide you with instructions on how to do that. When you do your restore just ensure you choose a restore point when you had Windows 8 working correctly.

Hey so i just bought by 15" MacbooK Pro yesterday and wanted to install windows vista on it. I'm to the part where you're supposed to install windows bootcamp but a message comes up saying that it needs windows 7 in order to install properly. What do i do?? I have the upgrade version of windows 7 (whcih i was going to eventually install) but when i tried installing it an error message came up saying that it needs vista service pack 1 to install. In order to install that service pack I need to connect to the internet. I can't connect to the internet, though, without installing the drivers from bootcamp!! AHH! see how this is frustrating? Reboot your computer while holding down the option key. You should be presented with the option to boot into OSX. Once booted into OSX start Boot Camp Assistant and select remove the Boot Camp Partition.
I know Boot Camp Assistant was not installed in Windows. It is an OSX application for creating and removing a Boot Camp partition. It is run from OSX.

There is no version of iTunes that truly supports the 64-bit version of Windows XP and never will be. If you search this forum for "XP 64" or do a web search for something like "iTunes Windows XP 64", you'll find threads describing the process some people have used to "crowbar" iTunes onto XP 64, with varying levels of success, none of them complete.

With Windows XP I have Firefox 4 and am trying to download Firefox 6 but it rejects saying I need Windows 2000 or newer

Tried several times to download Firefox 6 as upgrade to Firefox 4 and near end of download I get error message that I need Windows 2000 or newer. I have windows XP 2002. Cannot find error in my system.

This is typically caused when an add-on changes the user agent string (identifies the version of Firefox). To rectify this you can reset your user agent string.

Itunes won't launch says I need windows 2000 or higher: I have XP

When I upgraded to Itunes 7 it installed, but when I try to launch I get a message saying I need Windows 2000 or higher to run quicktime. I have Windows XP.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled both Itunes and Quicktime twice now, and I still get the same message.
Since I have a newer operating system than 2000 I am at a loss.

Ok, so this one is slightly complex.
I have a monitor at work which needs to display company info via a screensaver set to scroll through a series of images. This is a pretty standard thing, but where my problem occurs is that the screensaver must be updated remotely each
day via Remote Desktop, and not by a local user sitting at the PC itself. This works on XP with a bit of hacking and playing with settings. But it won't work on W7.
Ok, so the XP setup first:
When terminating the remote session, on the XP machine the system looks here:
C:\windows\system32\config\defaultprofile\administrator’s documents\administrator’s pictures
OR
C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\ administrator’s documents\administrator’s pictures
for the images to display during the screensaver, so I placed a shortcut to this folder (whichever one of the two it is on either of the two PCs i am doing this on; for some reason it isn't always the same path across all machines)
on the desktop and had the user place the images in there. I also do a small registry hack so that after a timeout of 60 seconds, the screensaver looked in this location, found the images, and displayed as you'd expect. It always looks here after a remote
session, and ignores the screensaver configured in the control panel UI, hance these stpes were necessary.
So, now the PCs are being upgraded to W7, but this isn't working. I think it's because on W7 the desktop isn't simply being locked when a remote session is started, the entire user is being logged off. Once the session is terminated,
the W7 PC sits at the login screen indefinitely and no screensaver ever displays.
Does anyone know a workaround here? Sorry for the overly complex explanation, and if it doesn't make sense I'd be happy to elaborate. Thanks.

the photo elements I have is for windows XP. now I have a different computer, and that has windows 7. I put the adobe photoshop elements on it not realizing it was only for windows XP. and of course it doesn't work. I don't know how the upgrade works can I upgrade the windows XP photoshop to windows 7 photoshop?? or do i have to get a new one for windows 7.?? I am trying to connect the iPad3 to the PC for HotSpotting reason (the ability to use the internet on the PC)
Turning on HOT SPOT on the Apple ipad works GREAT when using it through WI-Fi and through Blue Tooth. But connecting it directly through the included iPad 3 USB Cable to the USB side of the PC does NOT work. I tried several PCs, and several Cables. Any other ideas

The [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Windows_Media_Player MozillaZine "Windows Media Player" KB doc] explains installation and troubleshooting in-depth including a link to test the plugin, which should help you solve this problem.
Do note - if your Windows 7 OS is a 64-bit version, make sure that the plugin actually ends up in the Mozilla Firefox plugin folder (default '''C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\plugins\'''). There are reports of the plugin (or actually Firefox) ending up in the wrong folder. 64-bit Windows systems has 2 Program Folder locations - "Program Files" for 64-bit applications, and "Program Files (x86)" for 32-bit applications.
Also note that the Windows Media Player is required to use the plugin - if WMP has been uninstalled from the Windows Control Panel, the plugin will not work.
