Probook 4530s keyboard problems

We have a probook 4530s that the keyboard has started randomly on it's own typing in caps and duplicating characters.  The caps lock is not on when this starts happening, and the user has a hard time getting it to stop.
Any suggestions for what is causing this?

I got my 4530s 2 months ago and the keyboard problems started right away. The keys that are used in gaming to direct my character were repeating causing my character to to be very eratic. As the keys spring back into place and the game was just updated, I thought the problem was in the game. After finding out that there was no problem in the game, I called HP and they sent a new keyboard. Problem solved? NO! The new keyboard was better, but still had the same basic problem AND I could see key repeats in MSWord. Called again, had trouble convincing the girl rep that I knew what I was talking about, but they sent another. Fixed?  NO! The new keyboard is slightly better, but the problem still exists. While typing this I experienced for the 1st time the caps issue. If there is a resolution, I hope they come up with it soon. This is very frustrating. F.Y.I.  I spent 30 years in the computer industry.

I tried everything and please help me it happend when I updated bios but my friends have this same problem with this laptop

    Hi,
    Try the following.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp59001-59500/sp59291.exe
When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers.  Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, download and reinstall the Chipset driver on the following link.
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp52001-52500/sp52145.exe
When the reinstallation has completed, shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery.  Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds.  Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter.
Let Windows fully load - it will automatically load an audio driver, but just let this complete.  Then open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices.  Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' ( or Speakers/HP ) once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio.

  • HP ProBook 4530s AUDIO PROBLEM WIN 8.1

Hello. I have HP Probook 4530s. After I installed Windows 8.1 update 1 the sound driver stopped working properly. When I want to play some music, video or even system sounds, sound appears after 1-2 minutes. At that time HDD usage is 100% cause of windows audio device graph isolation. I’ve installed that IDT High Definition (HD) Audio Driver from HP’s driver support site, but that’s not working. As I see in device manager driver’s release date is 24.10.2012. I think, it’s too old for Windows 8.1. Can you help me? Is there any other newer version of that sound driver?

    Hi,
Please using Device Manager to uninstall the existing driver and try the following driver:

  • I can erase the recovery directly from my probook 4530s whitout problems? or what to do?

I want those gb to instal linux (wubi is not an option), there is no problem with a direct erase of that partition?
because i see some machines (don't remember if was an HP specifically) that when the recovery partition is lost (or when another OS is instaled) a verification check appears and later windows don't start (and reinstalling the actual windows not's an option right now)
    some enlightment?
    Thanks

    Hi:
I have removed the recovery partitions from time to time on all of my HP business desktops and notebooks, and never had an issue.
I do suggest you contact HP and get a set of recovery disks for your notebook.

  • Probook 4530 power problem

My battery died, so i purched a new one.
It works fine without a battery.
When i put the new battery the first time, it was full, and the  laptop worked, but it won't charge the battery. When the battery got empty, the laptop was shut down.
I must add that i removed all HP software from my 4530s.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

  • HP Probook 4530s Bluetooth drivers problem

Hi, I need some help. I want to know if my laptop is equipped with a bluetooth adaptor.
I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, and these are the specifications:
HP ProBook 4530s Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR)
    Serial Number:   {Private Information Removed}
    Product Number:   A7K05UT
On device manager there is no Bluetooth Radio or any other bluetooth device.
I wanted to know if this is happening due to a driver problem cause I recently installed all available network drivers for my laptop, and i wondered if something is malfunctioning (which it's not probable because my wireless adaptador is working fine).
    Thanks!

    Hi,
The following link shows its specs:
       http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/ca/en/sm/WF06b/321957-321957-64295-3955552-3955552-5060880-5215017.ht...
No, it does not have BT. Quick and cheapr option is to buy an USB-BT device.

  • Problem creating Recovery Discs with HP Probook 4530s Notebook PC.

I have a HP ProBook 4530s Notebook computer my daughter gave me. It is 5 months out of warranty. I had to recover it using Recovery Manager and the recovery partition.  The OS is W7 Home Premium 64 bit.
An HP support document says that I can create Windows 7 recovery discs using DVD-R media. It says to click Start, then All Programs, then Recovery Manager.
The problem is there is no Recovery Manager in All Programs. I want to create recovery discs instead of relying on the recovery partition.
I called HP and they had no explanation. I asked them if the instructions were wrong or were they right but for some reason Recovery Manager was missing from All Programs. All they could tell me is to recover it using the recovery partition by restarting the computer and then pushing F11 for the Recovery Manager. That works to recover the computer but NOT to create recovery discs.
Is there any way to create Recovery discs?

    Hi
Not without the recovery manager, which is not included on every HP business notebook.
My HP Elitebook 6930p came with a recovery partition but no recovery disks, recovery manager program to make recovery disks.
    And it cannot be downloaded.
If you live in the USA, call HP at this number, 1-800-334-5144 and order a set of recovery disks.
You will need to provide the model number and serial number to the customer support rep.
Since the notebook is out of warranty, there will be a charge of $10 for the set of recovery disks.

  • ProBook 4530s MousePad Is Giving Me Problems

Hi, I purchased a ProBook 4530s three days ago and I immediately noticed that the mouse pad is almost useless. The pointer bounces around the screen while I'm trying to scroll, sometimes the pointer just sits there even while I'm  undoubtedly touching the pad. I get the adjust screen size thing A LOT without me making the gestures to do so. I have to press on the mouse pad significantly harder than any other mouse pad I've used before in order for it to react. It's truely annoying and I don't know if I can deal with it. Its actually kinda terrible...It's disappointing because the laptop its self is great but the mouse pad is awful....This problem alone has me contemplating on returning it. What should I do?

    Anybody?

  • Keyboard has like "intervals" between keys HP PROBOOK 4530s

    LAPTOP: HP PROBOOK 4530s
You know how you hold down the "down arrow" key to scroll down web pages? if i held it down, all it does is scrolls once. And when i type "qwertyuiop" at normal speed, this is the result "qwtip". Weird cause the missing keys work. Theres just something like intervals between keys pressed in a second i guess? has this happened to you guys?
This is the 3rd time it happened. Tried to talk with HP customer service, they didnt even know what to do. Only had the laptop for a couple of months.

Just so you know, I experienced the same thing for the first time tonight. On rebooting it worked fine, but I did notice the fan was kicking into high gear just before the keyboard started flaking out.  My probook is about two weeks old, I applied the most recent bios update to it the day I set it up.  Did anyone ever get a satisfactory resolution for this, or is this one of those kind of things where new mainboards are quietly replaced on a per complaint basis.
What I did notice as unusual when setting up this laptop is it hung up while it was unpacking software.  I had let it go for about an hour thinking maybe it had a lot of stuff to install, but 5 hours later it was still at the same spot.  Forcing it off by holding down the power button and starting it up again, everything set up normally.  I was worried I had a lemon right off the bat so I ran full diagnostics on the hard drive and ran a memory test without any faults found, so chalked it up to crappy software development.
I think it's eat related, even though this thing doesn't seem to be running that hot.  CPU-Z shows my CPU is hovering around 42-43 degrees.
I guess now I know why these things are now being sold at near rock bottom prices.

  • Screen does not turn on after sleep - ProBook 4530s - Windows 8.1 (64bit)

    Hi everyone,
Not sure if this had to be posted in notebook display and video section, or laptop lockups, freezes and hangs. Anyway, I have a problem, where everything is fine with the computer, it's running smoothly, but whenever I make it go to sleep, after it does it instantly, the signals are of a regular laptop sleep - power buton flashing, no other signs of computer being on.
However, the problem appears when turning the computer back on after sleep. After pressing the power button, the computer straight away starts working - you can hear the fan turned on, etc, just that pretty much nothing changes with the screen. Sometimes, with some particular light directed towards the screen, you can even see, that the computer is on (seeing the clock on the display), just like the brightness was set down to 2% or something. And there is nothing that helps from what I have tried to do (tried reinstalling both AMD drivers and Intel HD drivers). I researched this problem extensively but could not find a solution, however, as I have noticed that this is quite an old problem (assuming from the date of the posts this problem first showed up), there might be a solution for it, to which I just have not noticed the answer?
If anyone can help me, please do, the sleep function is essential and extra important function when living on campus at university, I just cannot operate like this.
Hopefully someone will know, thank you in advance.
