Probook 640 bios - Enable Intel VT-x and disable trusted execution for VMWare

With the Probook 640, can someone please explain, step by step, how I would make the proper settings in the bios for VMWare virtualization?  I need to enable Intel VT-x and disable trusted execution.Thank you.

There was another setting in bois I found that required scrolling in the bios screen. Tricky to find with no mouse.
I am not sure if some day these terminologies can be standardized so someone can follow very specific instructions rather than vague instructions that are further obfuscated with the use of technical acronyms.
That is the problem, that error message in VM is not explicit enough as to what steps to take to correct the problem. These bois screen authors decide arbitrarily to name settings as it relates to their world personally and there are not standards.
I still don't know how that  got changed in the first place but that is not an issue with VM ware as to what else is changing the setting.
Do you have any explicit suggestions as to how the error message can be improved?

    Hi Vishal,
    I don't think there is option for specific site collection or web application,but there is option of enabling developer dashboard on specific master pages and that is one on of the way you could do it.
    look article on below link to enable developer dashboard on specific master pages

  • R835-P56X: Bios Options - Intel (R) AT and AT Suspend?

    I was poking around in the BIOS for my R835-P56X and found a couple options that I haven't seen before:
    Intel (R) AT
    Intel (R) AT Suspend
    I can't find any discussion of these options in the User's Guide (which doesn't cover the BIOS except for what can be changed with the HWSetup utility).
    Does anyone know what they do?

    The question would be if it translates into real gains in real world applications. You should test some 3D game or something to see if the performance is really great or just the same as usual. glxgears is quite a useless benchmark by itself (though it's good news that you get 3000 fps anyway).

  • Can you enable Intel VT-x and EPT on macbook pro 3,1

    Hi,
    Has this problem still ongoing?

    Hi,
    I use the same kind of MacBook Pro but am also a newbie. So maybe I can give some hints.
    1) To automatically load a module, edit /etc/rc.conf and add the name of the module to the MODULES list.
    2) Did you add pommed to the DAEMONS list of /etc/rc.conf ? Works for me perfectly.
    3) I just strictly followed the Beginners Guide of the wiki.
    - added !snd_pcsp to MODULES in rc.config
    - installed alsa-utils
    - installed alsa-oss
    - added myself to the audio group
    - invoked alsamixer to unmute channels
    4) It can be configured in some files located at /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/ . I've never looked into that because I use an external mouse.
    Hope some of that helps,

  • Enabling and disabling the button in the multi record block

    hi all,
    i am using
    Forms [32 Bit] Version 6.0.8.24.1 (Production)
    Oracle Database 10g Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production
    i have a multi record block each block contains a button(button is to approve the record in terms of changing the status)
    i have the items like date,remarks and button
    the button should be enabled if the remarks is not null otherwise it should be disabled.
    for this in pre-record trigger i have written
    if :record is null then
       set_item_property('button',enabled,property_false);
    else
          set_item_property('button',enabled,property_false);
    end if;what problem is enable and disable is impacting on all the buttons in the block. in other words if first record's remarks is null then all the records button is disabled. if first record's remarks column is not null then all the records of the button column is enabled.
    i have to make enable and disable the button for the corresponding record.that means if first record's remarks column is not null then only first records button should be enabled others should be disabled.
    Thanks..

    You need to set the No. of items displayed to 1 as Ammad had said, additionally you can set the X and Y Position (Just Y will do and having fixed X) of the button depending upon the current record.
    can u explain this part alone bit more (setting the position of x and y)You need to calculate the variable Y_POS depending upon the current position of the cursor that is the current record.
    You can find the current record Y_POS using combination of
    V_CURRENT_RECORD := :SYSTEM.CURSOR_RECORD;
    V_TOP_RECORD := GET_BLOCK_PROPERTY ('BLOCK_NAME', TOP_RECORD);
    V_ITEM_Y_POS := GET_ITEM_PROPERTY ('ITEM_NAME', Y_POS);
    -- Also needs to add the Y_POS of the relative other items in the muti-record block
    V_HEIGHT := GET_ITEM_PROPERTY ('BUTTON_NAME', HEIGHT);
    -- Note :- TOP_RECORD  Returns the record number of the topmost visible record in the given block.
    V_Y_POS := V_ITEM_Y_POS + ((V_CURRENT_RECORD - V_TOP_RECORD) * V_HEIGHT);
    -- You will need to add Distance between Items in records if anyThen you can Set the current Y_POS of the button.
    SET_ITEM_PROPERTY ('BUTTON_NAME', Y_POS, V_Y_POS);
    [/code[
    Hope this helps

  • T430, disable "OS Detection for NVIDIA OPtimus" in BIOS, no graphic card can be found in Windows

    I try to use my T430 minidisplayport to connect with external display. But it is so unstable that the connection between laptop and display can lost anytime. That is so annoying. I use Nvidia control panel in Windows to force use NVS5400M instead of HD4000, but it seems doesn't change anything.
    I heard if I select the discrete graphic card in BIOS, then it may fix the display connection lost problem. Then I go to the BIOS and  set the "discrete", and disable "OS Detection for NVIDIA OPtimus" in BIOS Config Display (This is necessary otherwise the laptop will change it back to Optimus automatically.). But after I log into Windows, then no graphic card can be found, Why? How should I fix this problem?
    The external display issue in T430 is so annoying. The VGA suffers very serious noise while the minidisplay is so unstable. Even worse, there is no any lenovo staff stand out to help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    If anyone has experience, please share that.
    Thank so much.

    Hello Mark, thanks for help. Please see my answers below:
    1. Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits.
    2. Yes, I did. The BIOS is latest (2.65). The NVS5400M driver is 333.02.
    3. My display is Asus MX239, which only has HDMI. I use an adapter cable: miniDP->HDMI and then an HDMI-HDMI cable I try to connect to a Samsung TV, but similar. I don't have a miniDP to HDMI cable. I just order one but has not get it.
    Sorry that I post in multiple threads. As I mentioned in that thread, let me conclude all these here.
    After I disable "OS Detection for NVIDIA OPtimus" in BIOS, then I istalled the NVS5400M 333.11 driver. Then the NVS5400 can be found in Windows. But the displayport problem still exist. It is still very very difficult to detect external monitor (this means in most cases I can't switch to external display), and even sometimes it works, the connection can lost anytime.
    Even worse, I found a new problem, that if I disconnect my T430 with power supply, then I can see the "pink bar" appear and disappear in the laptop screen (not external monitor) repetitively, quickly. I have never seen this problem before, only after I install NVS 333.11. Then I reinstall the 333.02 driver. Then I enabled the "OS Detection for NVIDIA OPtimus" in BIOS again. The "pink bar" issue gone. It looks like the issue is caused by 333.11 driver. But this driver comes from Nvidia offical driver download website.
    So now the most important thing I need help is, I need to have a stable solution to connect external display. In T430, there are only two ports for external display:
    1. VGA
    2. MiniDisplayPort
    Please help me following questions:
    1. When I try to use VGA, I can see very very bad noise in external display. This issue also be posted in previous thread in forum. This should be a hardware design failure. Is there any solution to fix this that I can use VGA without noise in external display?
    2. My T430 has both HD4000 and NVS5400M, if I need to use miniDP (which is I prefer, I have digital port why I use VGA.) for display. Does miniDP only work when the NVS5400 is used (it looks like that)?
    3. If miniDP only works NVS5400, so how should I configure to ensure the T430 use NVS5400 all the time? Do I have to disable "OS Detection for NVIDIA OPtimus" in BIOS or I can switch using Nvidia Control panel in windows ?
    4. Would you please provide me a configuration for T430 (include BIOS, and setting in Nvidia Control panel) that can support stable external display thru miniDP? Include driver versions and BIOS version.
    5. What are potential reasons that the external display can't be detected and can lost connection anytime with T430? To be noted, I already set to use NVS5400 in Nvidia Control panel. The case is also same I disable "OS Detection for NVIDIA OPtimus" in BIOS. I think cable may be a issue.
    Thanks again.

  • Step by step to disable Folder Redirection for a single user - Windows 7 and SBS 2011 Essentials

    OK...I got chewed (by someone I have a lot of respect for) for pounding on an old thread, so I'm starting a new one. I've got the Windows 7 Value Pack Plugin for SBS 2011 Essentials and Folder Redirection is working for everybody. What I'm looking for is

    answers....
    Hi Wayne,
    Here's what I'd do.
    1) create a Security Group in your AD environment. Call it 'Folder Redirection Members' or something like that. Put all the user accounts in your AD environment who you want to have their folders continue to be redirected to the server, do not include the
    one user who you wish to exclude.  in other words, you're going to use a specific security group to target the Folder Redirection policy (right now, it's Domain Users, which is everyone).
    2) Edit the Group Policy that the W7PP created in your AD environment. It's likely called "W7PVP Folder Redirection".  Start with verification under the Settings tab, expand Folder Redirection beneath User Configuration states that
    Policy Removal Behaviouris set to Restore Contents.  Then proceed using the Editor, to make adjustments under the Scope tab; verify membership in Security Filtering.  Remove Domain Users,
    add in Folder Redirection Members (or whatever you named your group in step 1).
    3) on your workstation that your user you are applying the change to disable folder redirection, Log on to the domain account while connected to your network, elevate a command prompt, and perform a 'gpupdate /force' command and then reboot your computer.
    Folder redirection configuration should be removed from the system and redirected contents should be restored back to your local path. Verify with inspection of the My Documents or other folders.
    Hope this helps. Keep in mind, no warranty implied or expressed in this advice.
    Try not to be so darn grumpy. :-/

  • Unable to Enable Intel VT-x Via BIOS Setup: (Option no-longer Available?)

    I have been using VMWare Workstation (V9.0.4) with my present motherboard for about 1 year.  For no apparent reason, I can no-longer do so, because "Intel VT-x" is not enabled.  When I enter the BIOS setup, the option that used to be there to enable "Intel VT-x" is no-longer present.  I am wondering if the latest BOIS Version (H.90) is the culprit?    If it is, is there a way to "roll back" to the previous BIOS version?
    Motherboard BIOS Version: H.90 (Motherboard:  X79A-GD45 Plus).  Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

    @Svet:  I checked and have (embarrassingly) found the problem.  I was unable to scroll down in the BIOS settings menu for Overclocking, and therefore could not "see" the option I was looking for.  I adjusted the sensitivity of my mouse(?) and all of a sudden all is well.  I found the option concerned and enabled it (how it had become disabled after nearly 1 year, I do not know) and all is now as it has been for a year.  Weird!
    Many thanks for your willingness to assist, and sorry for wasting your time.  Cheers.

    Hi:
    There is a specific order you need to install the graphics drivers for the notebooks with the nvidia/intel graphics.
    1. Install the Intel chipset installation utility and reboot.  If the one on your notebook's support page doesn't work, use this one.
    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=20775&lang=eng&ProdId=816
    2. Install the Intel HD graphics driver and reboot.  If the one on your notebook's suport page doesn't work, try this one.

  • Wireless Display not working on my HP ProBook 640

    hi,
    I have tried so many fixes and spent around 3 hours still the wireless display does now work on my PC.
    PC : HP ProBook 640
    Processor : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4702MQ CPU @ 2.20 GHz 2.20 GHz
    OS : Windows 8.1 Pro (64-bit)
    Wireless driver : Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6235
    Graphics Adapter : Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600
    All configuration seems perfect and supporting Intel WiDi.
    But when I went to charm-bar>Devices>Project , I can't see the "Add wireless display"
    Please let me know, how to troubleshoot it one by one.

    Hi,
    According to the blog below:
    Wireless display is available on most new Windows 8.1 PCs, but some PC manufacturers might choose not to include it on some new and upgraded PCs. Specifically, your PC needs WDDM 1.3 display and NDIS 6.4 Wi-Fi drivers, enabled by the IHV and OEM for Miracast.
    If you don’t see “Add a wireless display” when you tap the Device charm and tap Project, try going to Windows Update and downloading all available updates (including optional drivers). If you still don’t see it, check for additional updates
    on your PC manufacturer’s support site, or contact them to ask how you can get this feature on your PC.
    For more details:
