[Probook 650] Displayport audio enabled?

I was wondering whether or not the Probook 650 G1 supports audio over displayport before I buy a €20 adapter for it and find out it doesn't.
I couldn't find it in the documentation, but perhaps I overlooked it.

  • T440s Mini Displayport - Audio

    Hi everyone,
If I wanted to connect my T440s to my Sony HDTV I realize I'll need an HDMI converter to push video to the TV. What if I wanted to also output audio to the TV? Does the Mini DisplayPort on the T440s allow for audio throughput?
    Thanks!

  • ProBook 650 G1 freezes when taken off of docking station

Have a ProBook 650 g1 when removing it from the docking station the laptop hangs, We have tried multiple docking stations this happens with all docking stations

Thank you for your reply.  I'll give you a bit more detail.  I have two docking stations.  One was purchased for this laptop and the other one, the one I asked you about, is the one I used with my prior HP laptop.  My goal is to be able to use both docking stations at different locations. Regarding your reply, you mentioned that you are not sure if the laptop should be used with a 90w docking station, however the one my company purchased for use with this laptop is 90w.  It is product: A7E32AA and it says HP 90W Dock Station Pum1.0. That's why I asked the question.  They both appear to be 90W dock stations.  I don't know why the  VBO43AA isn't listed as a compatible dock station.  Can you think of any other reason I shouldn't use the  VBO43AA with the HP Probook 650 G1?

  • Boot from mSATA SSD in Probook 650

Hi guys and girls, Is it possible to add an mSATA (NGFF) SSD in the Hp Probook 650 G1 (F1N78EA) and boot from it? The technical manual does desribe that there is a slot for a mSATA flash cache module for Intel SRT, and that mSATA SSD's are expected later. So I assume it should work? From the specsheet: "32 GB M.2 (NGFF)Optional 32 GB mSATA flash cache module* support for Intel Smart Response Technology. (Available only with standard non-SEDhard drive.)*mSATA SSD is planned to be available in August 2013." Thanks a lot.

I had a breakthrough. And I can't believe I didn't think of this earlier - or that HP support didn't just suggest it right away. It's a really simple solution. You can't boot from a M.2 device directly. But you can boot the M.2 windows installation from the sata connected device (hdd/ssd). So if you just install windows on the sata device first, you can utilize the 100mb system partition for all other windows versions, including any on the M.2 device. No diskpart needed (assuming you have already initialized your M.2 ssd so it can be detected in windows)No BCDboot commands needed. Tested with windows 7 sp1 x64 professional.Bios settings & my notes at the buttom.Bios settings may need to be tweaked for win8/10. Step 1: Install windows on your sata attached device (hdd/ssd).Step 2: Boot into the newly installed windows*Step 2.2: Install windows from inside your first windows installation on your M.2 device.Step 3: Reboot, boot using the OS manager (which will appear in the boot order when more than 1 OS is detected). It should be top boot priority automatically.Step 3.2: Select the correct windows installation when prompted, it should be the top one.Step 4: Delete the windows installation from the boot list using cmd->msconfig. *If you want to avoid having the optical drive taking up the D: drive-letter, change it before installing windows to the M.2 device. This is purely optional, and only meant for the drive-letter obsessive people, such as myself. I have yet to find a way to end up having the M.2 windows installation as the C: drive.Right now my M.2 SSD is the D: drive, and the HDD (containing the first windows installation) is the C: drive.  Bios settings & notes:Fast boot: enabledBoot mode: UEFI hybridSata device mode: ACHI For some reason 'startup menu delay' must not be set at 0, I have mine set at 5 seconds. At 0 seconds the system will boot 'too fast' and the M.2 device will appearently not have been switched on in time for windows booting. You will get a device-undetected error. The partition style of the sata device and the M.2 device must be the same. Either both must be MBR, or both must be GPT.I tested both MBR and GPT, they both work.

  • Probook 650 & Samsung 840 EVO - not working!

    Hi,
I just received my brandnew Probook 650 with a 128 GB SSD (which appears to be aMicron/Crucial one).
Now I wanted to replace the SSD with a new 500 GB Samsung 840 EVO, but the laptop does not recognize it?
(The SSD is working on a SATA-to-USB connector, so it should be OK)
Are there any known imcompatibilities for this combination?
The laptops BIOS version is L77 01.02 and seems to be the most recent one...
    HELP!
    regards
    Thomas

It is always a good idea to check to see which type of disks work with the chip set your notebook has before purchasing a hard disk or SSD.
Upgrading the BIOS will not have an effect on the type of hard drives or SSDs that work with your notebook. That happens to be chipset specific. There is a chip integrated into in the system board that determines what will work with your notebook and what will not. The next time you are considering a hardware upgrade, read the HP 650 Maintenance & Service Guide first. It does not matter which brand of notebook of desktop (motherboard) you have. If you don't do the research first,it will almost always come back to bite you. The manual says that a SATA-3 hard disk should have worked. Yours might need an upgrade to the firmware. Check at Samsung.  Use the Magician software to upgrade the firmware.

  • Installing system on m.2 SSD on Probook 650 G1

I am going to buy Probook 650 G1 (L8T52ES) and I would like to buy m.2 SSD (128 or 256 GB) that would be used for system (Windows 7 or 10, I am not decided yet), keeping the 750 GB SATA for data. I have several questions:Can the m.2 SSD be used for system? Will it be detected by the Windows installer? Is there any tutorial or manual how to do this? Can this drive http://adata.com/us/ssd/feature/291 be used?If I buy a care pack from HP, will it be affected by the additionally installed m.2 SDD? Will the care pack cover also the m.2 SSD? If not, is there any way to get the notebook from HP with a m.2 SSD already included? I found some information about using m.2 SSD on Probook 650 G1 in forums, but it does not seem complete and provided solutions seem to be rather workarounds that direct methods to achieve what I am interested in.

what bios version you are using?
can you list the exact M.2 SSD (Transcend 256 GB)  mode/part number?

  • Video audio enabled clips not moving together

I am dragging clips on to the timeline. They have audio and video. the dialogue box says they are enabled. However, If I move the clip, audio and video  are not moving together when I drag either the video or audio clip in the timeline. Even when I disable the clip, link them or group the audio and video, they do not move together

Link them - select the video and audio tracks and press ⌘L.

  • HP Probook 650 G1 Radeon HD 8750M/Intel HD 4600

    Hi All,
I purchased a 650 G1 3 days ago and I just spent the last three days trying to fix this laptop.
OS: Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit
First of all I don't understand why this laptop was not prepared properly directly from the manufacturer.
When I right click on my desktop and click Catalyst Control Center I get the followng error.
"AMD Catalyst Control Center cannot be started.
There are currently no settings that can be configured using AMD Catalyst Control Center"
In the device manager both drivers are installed.
And my laptop is plugged into a docking station with two monitors attached.
    Here is my problem.
If I go to AMD's website and install the latest drivers CCC works fine i can adjust which software should be on high power and which software should be on low power. Problem is that when the latest AMD drivers are installed from AMDs website Intel driver does not work and does not recognize the two monitors that are attached through the docking station.
If I uninstall the AMD's drivers and install HP Amd drivers(which are older than the AMD drivers on AMD website, please see the link:  http://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/psi/swdDetails/?sp4ts.oid=5405405&sp... )
Then Intel graphics card works fine and I can use both my screens.
HP installs the AMD drivers as "AMD Radeon HD 8750M" where as AMD drivers installs it as "AMD Radeon HD 8500/8700"
    How can I fix this?

I was having the same issue with my HP ProBook 640 G1 with AMD Radeon 8750M.  The problem was driving me nuts!
I just had my motherboard replaced because it wouldn't charge the battery.  (Tried 2 batteries, 4 AC adapters, and a dock.)  The computer showed the AC adapter was connected and "charging," except that the battery wouldn't actually charge at all.
Well, after the motherboard was replaced due to the battery charging issue, I am now able to install the HP customized version of the AMD Radeon 8750M video drivers, and it works!  No more "Catalyst Control Center cannot be started" error!
    See here:

    Hope this helps.

  • Scrubbing audio enabled slows timeline

When I have audio scrubbing enabled timeline scrubbing is clunky and slow. It appears to only display various frames as if I were editing an MPEG file. (I am working with AVI's.) Turning off audio scrub solves the problem. The timeline responds lightning fast displaying every frame. Can someone explain why this is?
I am fairly new to premiere. I am just wondering if it is normal or whether I have an issue that can be corrected. The other edit system I have used for years scrubbed audio without an issue. Perhaps Premiere handles the audio differently.
Intel Core2 QUAD CPU 2.5 GHz
    4 Gig Ram
    Nvidea 9800GT
    Vista 64 Bit OS

Turning off the "audio scrub" did eliminate part of my issue - I can now open a clip in the SOURCE monitor and scrub smoothly. However, when an in or out point is added to the clip, the scrubbing becomes very choppy. Tested the same clips in CS3 with no issues.
My machine is built for editing and far exceeds the minimum specs. Also, my clips are being stored on an internal SATA drive so it's not due to network or external drive lag. Any ideas on why this is happening? Why would it happen in CS4 but not CS3?
The issue is making it difficult/impossible to complete a project that contains hundreds of individual clips.

  • P55-GD65 BSOD With onboard audio enabled

    Hello all,
I bought a new computer with a P55-GD65 motherboard 2 weeks ago and Im getting a random blue screen when the onboard audio is enabled in the BIOS.
Im using the latest BIOS version mainboard drivers. Im running a legal version of Windows 7 home premium and installed all updates.
The blue screen appears in all situations, browsing the internet, playing a game, even when the machine is just turned on and im not working on it.
Here parts of the latest dump files:
    1. string:SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
    bug check code: 0x0000003b
    caused by driver: win32k.sys
    2. string: KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
    bug check code: 0x0000001e
    caused by driver: ntoskrnl.exe
II did search a lot for this errors and found no relationship with onboard audio, the weird thing is the BSOD are only happening when onboard audio is enabled on my system.
Any idea how to fix this, it would be great because the onboard audiocard is working alright with games and teamspeak. I have tried a X-FI Titanium card of Creative that was not working.
    Hope someione can help.
    Kind regards,
    Lex

Installed all latest x64 MSI drivers for the motherboard.
I am not overclocking the system, the BIOS has default values with onboard audio disabled at the moment.
    Now once again the problem:
If I enable the onboard audio controller the systems crashed with a blue screen. Somethimes it takes an hour, somethimes it crashed within 2 minutes after booting.
It doesnt matter what Im doing, even when I just startup the machine and aint using it because Im making some cofee its stuck at a blue screen when I come back.
If I disable the onboard audio controller It does not crash, I can leave the system on all day without a problem.

  • HP Probook 455 G1 dts+ audio software & mute button light change missing on Windows 10

Dear Support! I upgraded my probook from win 8.1 to win 10 home and i have a few problems in relation with the audio. 1. In win 8.1 the audio driver has a dts+ software (if i remember good for the name) which can optimize the sound with effects and eq etc. The notebook sounds good with this but in windows 10 i can get this and the quality of the sound is much worse. In addition in the device manager on win 8.1 the audio card names as IDT High Definiton audio but in win 10 it is "High Definition Audio Device". I don't know whethet that matters. (also has an amd high definition audio device, but if i know good its the hdmi audio) So I want to ask how can i get this to win10. 2. The audio mute button in win 10 doesnt change color -the wifi button does it- from white to orange if there is a change. The funcionality is working so it mutes the sound. So i would like to get some solutions about that, i tried to download drivers from hp support but i didnt see anything for this. Thank you for your answers, Akos ConfigHP Probook 455 G1 with AMD A10-5750M APU

Everything i need is the driver from the win 8.1, i can't believe nobody from HP can help me in this.......

  • Have AMD & Realtek audio enabled, should I uninstall one? you tube & other video not streaming...

HP 2000 notebook pc windows 8, no error message, I have 2 devices for audio Realtek & AMD, should I uninstall one?

    Hi,
No, you shouldn't uninstall either of them.
One is for the notebook speakers (realtek) and one (AMD) is for the HDMI out port which sends video and audio thru the HDMI cable to an HDTV or monitor.
