Probook 6555b, no sound - cannot turn orange button off for the mute function.

windows 7 enterprise 64-bit
error msg no speakers or headphones plugged in
just recently (about 6 months ago) upgraded to windows 7 enterprise from windows XP.
the sound does not work - the orange mute button stays on, even when i push it it will not turn blue like the rest of the buttons. i have tried to delete and re-install the drivers multiple times, i have even checked the bios to make sure that the sound is activated there. Any advice?
Oh BTW I have tried the "sticking the headphone jack in the port in and out" thing as well.

Yes, you can. You can configure the Side Switch (above the volume button) either as Mute switch or Rotation lock.
Settings > General > Use Side Switch to: choose what you like the Side Switch to function as.

I cannot turn my phone off. The button doesn't seem to work.

My model MC637B iPhone 3 won't turn off. Suggestions have been made that I press the Hold and Power Off button simultaneously but that just takes me to Voice Control. Have recently travelled by plane and had to leave it switched on but in Airplane mode. I've not tried Reset but not sure if this would help. I've only had the phone a few weeks, so perhaps I ought to return it to the store.

Download this http://www.steelbin.com/FPforFBPPC.zip to your desktop, unzip it, and replace the current Flash Player plug-in which is in your main/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder, (not the user Library). Save the old one just in case this one doesn't work.

Hey Posada143, You can still try the rice thing, but do not expect much, as roaminggnome has stated. The rice only works if you do it ASAP and leave the iPod off-- do not attempt use, turn on or charge until it is completely dried out. This is probably academic at this point but remember this for the next time: The drying can take 10 days. You put the uncooked rice and iPod in a sealed bag, change the rice every couple of days. This creates a low humidity environment and draws the moisture out of the iPod, but it takes time. Turn your iPod on to earlier, and you run the risk of shorting out, damaging the components inside. Even if done correctly it can spotty. If you do get the iPod to work (and this may require Resetting, Restoring or attempting to place it in DFU recover mode) the first thing you do is make backups, because you never know how long it will continue to work. As for your pictures, if you can't get your iPod to work, you can try data retrieval companies, however; there is no guaranty it will work and it tends to be very expensive. In the future get in the habit of as making backups, because you just don't know. And invest in and use a water tight case. Hope this helps, Good luck. Cheers.

If that isn't it, you'll have to setup service.

You don't really delete app that way, that way to stop backup for that app in icloud.
You need to delete it from your home screen and then while it still will look like download from icloud - app will start fresh.
However if app uses any account sign in the stuff that is attached to sign in will come back, so if you do not want to you need to use
fresh account as well.

I apologize, I'm a bit unclear what you are seeing or what is happening when you try to turn Location Services on or off (what state is it currently in?). If you are having issues with Location Services, you may find the following article helpful (it is aimed at iOS 7, but the steps should be the same in iOS 8):

In some countries, this cannot be overridden.

The Retrospect you used way back when is no longer around. The company was sold and that company produced a new version of Retrospect - Retrospect 8.x
So, as you've been told, you would have to be running a Tiger system with an old version of Retrospect software (5.x or 6.x - you would need to know) assuming you can find the software.
As best I can remember you cannot extract files from a Retrospect backup except using the software since Retrospect did not normally make a file by file backup rather it created an archive of the files in the backup. I'm assuming that the EMC/Retrospect people have told you that old Retrospect backups are not accessible by Retrospect 8.x?

from the information you provided i can't tell if it is a hardware problem or a software problem. I do have an idea though, try to press your home button and lock button at the same time.

Yes, you will still get the prompt.
I meant reset then try the recovery mode restore again.
You can also try DFU Mode.
DFU (Device Firmware Update) Mode is different than Recovery Mode.
DFU Mode is a special mode where the device can still interface with iTunes, yet it does not load the iBoot bootloader.
DFU Mode:
Plug your device into your computer.
Turn off the device.
Hold the Power button for 3 seconds
Hold the Home button without releasing the Power button for 10 seconds
Release the Power Button but keep holding the Home button
Keep holding the Home button until you are alerted by iTunes saying that it has detected a device in Recovery Mode
NOTE: Make sure the device screen is blank and no logos are present. Be patient, it make take several trys.

Environment: Windows server 2012 without any updates.
All scripts signed as it was in Hanselman's blogpost

When I look into the C:\Windows\system32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\Modules\Storage\Disk.cdxml I didn't get what's happend, because in line 138- was xml comment.
Any ideas?
